Yeah, I know that now.

Back then, I was just a stupid teenager thinking “I gotta stop that sparking before something bad happens.”

I think my guardian angel got a raise after that happened.

I texted a friend that lives out by Stephen F Austin State Park. I know that his house is up on stilts. I asked him if he had any water on his property. He texted back a picture taken from an airplane and boy is it impressive. He labeled it “just a puddle”.

Saw something tonight that restores my faith in humanity. Folks with high profile pick-ups and 4WD vehicles are picking people up out at the entrance to our subdivision and driving them home through the flooded streets. We’re told be a friend that the entrance to the subdivision is choked with the parked vehicles of folks who can’t drive in to… Read more »

Adee, wish I could be there to he’p ye out. Good luck with the moving of stuff. I remember during Claudette, when I lived between Pearland/Manvel/Alvin, Hubby (who just boyfriend back then) came to see me. We decided that going out wasn’t a good idea, and he left while the rain was pouring down. He made it to his home… Read more »

River water is over 54 ft. now and still rising from what we can see. Spouse has placed his gauge for the final time. If it goes under, we get water in the house. We moved the horses over to the next street neighbors who are high and dry and have room for them. So that’s ok. The barn is… Read more »

Do you need a sous-vide bath for that?

Curly Dock sounds like the redneck slang for a Brazilian wax job.

I had a sous-vide bath once and a Brazilian Wax job.

Not at the same time, of course.

Twenny bux each.

Never knew any girl named Curly or Dock.

But there was this one buxum blonde named Bubbles—-

Latest flood reading is 53.95 ft. Neighbors behind us are moving their first-floor furniture to the second floor and plan to leave tonight if it looks like cresting is not coming by then and stay with the wife’s daughter and family. Water is coming over their road toward us, which is the reverse of what happens with heavy rain. And… Read more »

Callin’ in from the embattled Richmond/359 area. Latest flood level I’ve seen is 53.78 ft. which already has overshot the estimate of 53.5 ft. and appears to be moving higher before it finally crests. That was supposed to happen this morning but didn’t. We now have river water backup through the pasture behind our neighbors across the back fence of… Read more »

Curly dock can be eaten, but must be boiled in several batches of water.

Do you need a sous-vide bath for that?

Curly Dock sounds like the redneck slang for a Brazilian wax job.

“Where you headed, Hun?”

“I’m fixin’ to head down to the spa and get my curlies docked. Be back directly.”

Panera has really dropped the ball on quality as they’ve grown so popular. It’s a shame.

Just got a salad from Panera Bread cause I heard they were really good. Not only did it cost me ten bucks, it’s the most horrible salad I ever ate. Looks and tastes like they went outside and pulled leaves off the shrubs and trees and tossed in some rubber chicken and an egg in a box.
