How corporate America bought Hillary Clinton for $21M.

“Follow the money.” That telling phrase, which has come to summarize the Watergate scandal, has been a part of the lexicon since 1976. It’s shorthand for political corruption: At what point do “contributions” become bribes, “constituent services” turn into quid pro quos and “charities” become slush funds?

Ronald Reagan was severely criticized in 1989 when, after he left office, he was paid $2 million for a couple of speeches in Japan. “The founding fathers would have been stunned that an occupant of the highest office in this land turned it into bucks,” sniffed a Columbia professor.

So what would Washington and Jefferson make of Hillary Rodham Clinton? Mandatory financial disclosures released this month show that, in just the two years from April 2013 to March 2015, the former first lady, senator and secretary of state collected $21,667,000 in “speaking fees,” not to mention the cool $5 mil she corralled as an advance for her 2014 flop book, “Hard Choices.”

I am going to reveal the 19 people who created the creature, Donald Trump – The Republican Candidate.

    Lamar Alexander
    Kelly Ayotte
    Roy Blunt
    Richard Burr
    Dan Coats
    Thad Cochran
    Susan Collins
    Lindsey Graham
    Orrin Hatch
    John Hoeven
    Johnny Isakson
    Mark Kirk
    John McCain
    Lisa Murkowski
    Rob Portman
    Thom Tillis

What did they do ? The U.S. Senators traded their integrity for nothing to bring into the local neighborhoods of America the coming Gestapo tactics of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Who voted for an amendment by Mike Lee to stop this ?

Mitch McConnell, after he rigged the entire vote to have the Lee Amendment fail and the Susan Collins phony amendment succeed, Mitch provided political cover for himself even as he arranged for other Republican Senators to defeat it.

Who helped McConnell engineer this vile, corrupt bargain to suborn Republican Senators for this betrayal of the American people ?

    Majority Whip John Cornyn
    Republican Conference Chair John Thune
Republican Policy Committee Chair John Barrasso
Republican Conference Vice Chair Roy Blunt

This will become a front page headline issue when federal HUD agents start showing up in neighborhoods or ordering the City Council of Spring Valley or Deer Park to build subsidized Section 8 single family housing in every neighborhood and dictating the race and ethnicity of each and every acceptable tenant.

What’s more mystifying and discouraging about this is the utter political stupidity of the tactics employed by the GOP Senate leadership. Not only does it deprive the party of a great short-term issue, but of a long-term one as well — and one that would have paid both policy and political dividends. When communities better understand what AFFH allows, it is going to be absolutely toxic to everyone who voted for it — or at least it would have been if McConnell hadn’t allowed Democrats to take political cover with the Collins amendment. The Collins amendment passed with the only nine votes against being Democrats from Senate jurisdictions so liberal that they could afford to say even the Collins non-concession was insufficient. So Senator McConnell managed to give the Democrats a fig leaf hid their vote for this monstrosity.

    and this,

AFFH undercuts the independence of suburbs, towns, and small cities by forcing them to make up for supposed “imbalances” in the racial, ethnic, and class composition of their greater metropolitan regions. Under AFFH, the many suburbs and towns that take grant money from the federal department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be forced to change their zoning codes and build high-density, low-income housing for “underrepresented” groups. Suburbs may even be forced to relocate planned schools, transportation hubs, and business districts to answer to the federal bureaucracy’s ideas of ethnic, racial, and economic “balance.” Basically, the Obama administration wants to punish, control, and fundamentally transform communities that, in its estimation, are too white or too affluent. As Kurtz demonstrates, it’s also a blatantly illegal re-writing of the Fair Housing Act, with no basis in the original text or intent.

Until McConnell, Cornyn, Thune, Barrasso, Blount, Alexander, McCain and Hatch are thrown out, the Senate is useless.

    So–

Who here actually thinks that a Trump Presidency will change anything?

Who here actually thinks that Mitch McConnel, Paul Ryan, John Cornyn, or Reinece Preibus are all actually going to lose thier jobs?

I have only one question for the Trump-Clinton debate and we can move on the the election. What is your plan on dismantling the monster home invader Windows 10. It must be destroyed piece by piece otherwise it will form back into the blob it is growing and growing seeping into every nook and cranny of our existence demanding I agree now!

#6 – I’ve long been convinced that the eReps do not want to be in the majority and be required to direct the legislative agenda. They would much rather sit in the mahogany club rooms sipping expensive bourbon, pontificating about issues they know nothing about, criticizing the opposition, and not being held responsible or accountable for a damn thing. It’s a cushy job, lots of social events to attend to, and absolutely no accountability – it’s a good job if you can get it.

It’s my work computer, no choice in what to use. Saying that, for no more than what I do 8 is fine, but the freaking 10 upgrade insistance is annoying as heck! I left work early Friday after not feeling well and my computer didn’t get turned off. I came in this morning and it had began installing, took about a half hour getting backed out of it all.

  12. El Gordo Avatar

Here’s what’s up with Win 10. MS has seen Google and Apple app stores create brand loyalty, etc. by allowing individuals to customize their desktop, and they want in on the act. That’s all win 10 is about – so MS can begin selling apps like the other big boys. And of course, touch screens. Soon I guess their keyboards will have pictures like a McDonalds cash register rather than letters, and the dumbing down will continue.

GJT and all Windows 10 upgrade haters

but the freaking 10 upgrade insistance is annoying

    Here are some possible solutions.
Disclaimer: If you do or use any of the suggestions below you do so at your own risk. I cannot vouch for any of these solutions except for the reviews on the various web sites. Read, understand and follow the instructions
    1. Involves working in the windows registry and is Microsoft “approved”.

    2. This one claims to be a simple “tool” aka an app, A simple tool to disable Windows 10 upgrade notifications

    3. I Don’t Want Windows 10 v4.0. This one comes with two annoying nag screens of its own.

    4. You might want to try this first.. Involves actually deleting the Get Windows X software in your pooter.

IMO the one that is most bullet proof is changing the registry. It is the most intensive and you gotta put on your big boy pants to do it. Messing with the registry requires an abundance of caution. AGAIN IMO the two apps should work especially the first one. I did not find many user warnings to stay away form these apps, but every computer is different so as Dale Gribble says Computers don’t make errors, THEY DO WHAT THEY DO

Oh and there is a #5. This one will cost ya, while the other “solutions” are free but THIS IS an absolutely bullet proof way to avoid the dreaded windows 10 update.

We got lots of bunnies this year, we typically have a couple but there are several this year.

Some reason Buddy the Dog just watches them, chases everything else and I think he could catch them. No challenge I guess.

  24. mharper42 Avatar
    mharper42

I don’t know if we will ever have wild bunnies in our yard again, since the neighbor’s 30-something son moved home with his Rottweiler. Said dog totally busted up our 6-ft privacy fence, so it’s not so private anymore. They finally had to chain the poor thing to keep him at home, and out of 3 adjoining back yards. But even though he can’t get loose — theoretically — he has on at least one occasion, and made it into our yard again — he can see through gaps and goes berserk over squirrels and pigeons.

Me, I’d prefer they keep the Rottweiler in their house and chain the son in the back yard.

Well, we still have a few days to go before we are wiped out by the opening of hurricane season, but it looks like we won’t even make it that far this year due to the Zika virus. No less medical experts than Sylvester Turner and Shelia Jackson Lee have both declared that there is not enough government funding to deal with the Zika issue, and that it is likely more devastating than the plague.

“Overnight, a city of two million people, a major international tech business hub and the Capital of Texas, has become virtually impossible to navigate without a privately owned car. If you’re from out of town, you’re in trouble. I spoke with Josh Berezin, the VP of sales at a Southern California software company, who comes to Austin on business several times a year. He’s pretty much the target ridesharing customer. Berezin had a pre-scheduled business trip to Austin the week that Uber and Lyft left town. He had to hail a taxi instead… He had to travel from the airport to suburban Round Rock. The driver didn’t know the destination, so he had Berezin enter the destination on an old Blackberry. Including tip, the ride cost 97 dollars. Three months earlier, the exact same trip had cost Berezin 50 with Uber… Austin has gone back in time 20 years, to an era where the taxi monopoly and the Hertz cartel had a total chokehold on visitors.”

    Making America Great Again

Since launching his presidential campaign last June on a platform that includes restoring American jobs, Donald Trump has sought and won permission from the Department of Labor to hire at least 186 foreign guest workers for jobs at his resorts, golf courses, and vineyards in New York, Florida, and Virginia, including 34 this year.

Among them were 10 waiters and waitresses whose visas were approved by the Labor Department last week to work temporarily at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, New York, in Westchester County — just 35 miles from Manhattan and New York’s vast labor market.

Mr. Obama has appointed the National LGBTQ+ Task Force’s Barbara Satin, an 81-year-old cross-dressing, gender-bending man who identifies as a woman, to serve on the Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships (the “Council”). You may not be familiar with the work of the Council, but it brings together so-called “leaders and experts” to recommend to Mr. Obama and his Administration ways to improve the delivery of social services, through policy prescriptions and larger government programs. As an example, Ms. Satin was recently involved in the development of an LGBTQ+ senior housing project in Minneapolis. Ms. Satin is an active member of the United Church of Christ (“UCC”), and has served on the denomination’s Executive Council, where she was an advocate for transgendered UCC congregants. Ms. Satin was also involved in the UCC’s 2003 decision to affirm the inclusion of transgender people in the life and ministry of the UCC. Ms. Satin, when she identified as a man, was married (to a woman), with whom he had three.

The timing could not be better on this one. In an email from my boy’s middle school principal.

Around midday today, a female student reported that a male substitute teacher walked into the girls restroom and entered a stall. At the time, there were four students in the restroom. According to the students, the substitute did not attempt any physical contact, and verbally apologized as he left the restroom.

I guess FBISD is being fair and ensuring they do not discriminate based on gender identification. That is until they go into the wrong stall in the wrong restroom.
