I thought this new Cruz ad was funny as hell.
What’s your reaction ?

I like it! Everyone hates lawyers and journalists, Scarborough.

#2: The schlock talking heads tell me that the ad is extremely effective. It strikes a nerve and the lefty moon bats don’t like it one bit.

“Common sense ” gun regulations that would never be abused, until they are.

This is staggering in its corruption of the electoral process. The Clintons have no peer, not even Obama, in their lack of shame.
Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee have an unusual and apparently unprecedented agreement in which an entity she controls has paid nearly $20 million to the political panel, even as its leadership plays a supposedly impartial role in fostering competition between the former secretary of state and her rivals for the party’s 2016 presidential nomination.
Clinton created a “joint fundraising committee” Sept. 10 that funneled big-money donations in excess of the per-campaign limit to the DNC. In the next 20 days, she raised and gave $600,000 to the DNC, and the figure ballooned to $18 million in the fourth quarter, according to newly released figures — a third of her total haul. Normally the party would only team up with a candidate that way if the candidate was the nominee.

Don’t forget to watch that video in #1.
Camouflaged pop-up robot tanks dropped out of cargo planes…fantastic stuff.

What’s your reaction ?
Love it.

#2 – Hey I understood it 100%! ^5
morning Joe: “What was THAT about? Cruz should get his money back”
Well Joe – we wonder if ANY of your THREE viewers understand Your comment?

I’ve concluded that my best hope for retaining some semblance of sanity during 2016 is just to ignore anything coming out of the White House; realizing that Zero is desperately clinging to his effort to remain relevant.

Looking like back surgery for Hubby. We’re just starting to review what hoops he’s going to have to jump through to get relief from this pain.
It’s going to wreak havoc on our business, too.
Time to let go and let God.
-
Anyone else thinkin’ that the video in #1 was released at this time for a reason?
I do.
I see the video and I can hear “Think twice, losers.”

Just received my daily Fwd:Fw:Fw: “Don’t know if this is True But…..” email from my crazy lib aunt turned conservative cause there’s a black man in the White House. 😀

God will present someone/somehow to pull the business through and Hubby will wonder later why he tried doing it all by himself all this time.

I like Ted’s ad. So Joe and Mika didn’t get it?

On purpose.

LD has a friend who’s obviously liberal, who sometimes posts comments to my posts on FB. I know she’s not stupid, she’s quite intelligent despite her political leanings. I think her comments are designed to wiss me off. I hope so, anyway, because I’d rather think of her as an intelligent, attractive, and with-it young lady (and I’m stopping myself right there).

#12Obama pushing thousands (about 4000) of new regulations in Year 8
The calendar says there are 13 months left to Barack Obama’s presidency. But when it comes to exercising executive power, it’s more like five. -

Well, this is sweet. A popular bar was dealing with an irate customer, who complained on social media about her New Year’s Eve out being interrupted by “a junkie who overdosed” at the bar and interfered with her service. Here’s the response:
Hi Holly, thanks for reaching out! We love feedback, whether it be positive or negative. I especially like feedback like this so others can see the disgusting people that we have to deal with sometimes.
First of all, the ‘overdosing junkie’ that you speak of was a 70+ year old woman who had a heart attack. Thankfully she was finally revived at the hospital and survived. It sounds like you were very concerned about her so I thought you should know. This poor lady, who was celebrating New Year’s Eve with her husband and son, had to be placed on the floor of a completely packed bar and have her shirt removed in front of everyone so the paramedics could work on her.
But I can completely understand why you think being intoxicated a**holes that didn’t understand your bill should take priority over a human life. I especially appreciate you making your server (who doesn’t curse) cry as well. I’m sure she really enjoyed working on New Year’s Eve just to deal with people such as yourself. I personally had to leave a show to take a phone call from an emotional manager telling me someone died at Kilroy’s and that other employees were not doing so well dealing with this. (At the time they didn’t know that she was going to make it.) So I understand how inconvenient this was to your night.
But honestly, I’m glad to hear you won’t be coming back to Kilroy’s because we wouldn’t want anyone as cold hearted and nasty as you returning. I appreciate anyone who chooses to spend their money at Kilroy’s until they act like you. You can take your money anywhere else after that, and I won’t lose a second of sleep over it. Happy New Year!

Yep, thankfully we are still small enough to do it!

Folks who have been on the couch for a long time know my record on Gun Rights.
Obama is to be commended for this. He’s going against a long standing policy of his own Party regarding the reporting of mentally unstable people to the Background Check system. It is the one thing that would have stopped almost all of the mass shootings in the past 20 years, and something Gun Rights Activists (like myself) have been advocating for a long, long time. Nobody in his right mind is against this provision. In fact, I am of the belief that the only reason he included this in his proposals is to instigate responses from knee jerk Conservatives (as opposed to rational, thinking Conservatives), who will speak out against it publicly just because Obama did it.
Now, all he has to do is more work to fix things on his end of the Background Check system.
-
Nobody in his right mind is against this provision.
If it stayed just as advertised and was guaranteed to stay that way, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. The problem is that this is the camel’s nose under the tent. Is it really such a stretch to believe that the lefty moonbats won’t use this opening to expand the universe of those who can no longer legally purchase or own a firearm? I do not trust the gov’t to stay within these initial bounds, do you?
-
Mental illness or “strange behavior” or “he scares me” doesn’t seem far off…
-
If you actually READ the article, the only people allowed to report are the Doctors caring for the subject individual, and all it does is free them from penalties from Doctor/Patient privilege violations, but not Civil penalties awarded should the subject individual decide to (rightfully) sue the pants off of them should they use the rule capriciously or vindictively.
Its actually a step in the right direction and, I repeat, one that Gun Rights Activists have been trying to get them to do for years.
-
As to trusting the Government to stay within the bounds, it is far more likely that the Doctor’s Insurance carriers would be policing them for abuses that would open them up to liability, as well as having a lot of Doctor’s Pants hanging in Gun Store and Gun Owner’s closets after the Civil Suits have been won.

Back to getting Mom’s funeral plot problem resolved. It seems Grandpa listed her for a space on the family plot, but there’s a typo in her name.
So, do I need to get a Quitclaim deed, a Burial Authorization, or an affidavit about the name typo?
Inquiring minds want to know….
Bless that funeral home lady. She’s exhibiting a great deal of patience with me as we work through these legal questions.

You are more optimistic than I am about this. I do not, in principle, object to physicians being able to report seriously unstable patients to the database for scrutiny when buying a gun. I do object to there being no avenue for appeal of this process for citizens if some Leftist busybody pediatrician, indoctrinated by CDC agitprop about guns, decides to turn in perfectly responsible parents for legally possessing weapons in their own home, for example. I also would be concerned whether typical medical malpractice insurance would even cover a doctor for turning in a patient for anything other than solid, professional diagnosis of mental disorder.

I don’t have time to read through this, but you might later take a look if you can’t get an informed answer to your question.

There are many more remedies on this than thru malpractice. Slander comes to mind, and it would be a rather strong case as the slander would be in writing. submitted to a government agency that has power to do harm based on the untrue information, and offered in a malicious effort to do actual harm.
I’d actually welcome the case.
-
And I DO mean I’d welcome any case that stems from abuse.
Gun Right’s advocates have a stellar track record in the courts, and using the courts to achieve redress of the excesses of the Gun Grabbers has advanced the cause of Gun Rights further and more effectively than any political remedy sought.

As a longtime observer of this President’s poker strategy, I see this as as an intentionally weak bet that Obama hopes will result in a huge raise from his opponent. The strength in President Obama’s hand is overwhelming public opinion, cards that so far have not resulted in a win. There are only a few ways he can improve that hand, and this play gives him more chances than any other. If the public sees gun advocates freak out over these weak actions, that could turn public opinion even more in his favor, and maybe even give Democrats another issue to use against Republicans in 2016. Public opinion, however, has not proven strong enough to make this a voting issue among average Americans. Maybe President Obama’s moving speech will have some effect on energizing that public support.
-
A post at Hot Air goes even further to explain, not only the actions, but how we should be addressing them publicly;
The first two of these bullet points qualify for the “what took you so long” category. Those aren’t exercises in executive power; they’re admissions of incompetent governance. It took seven years for Obama to realize the FBI background-check department is understaffed? Similarly, we have been discussing issues of mental health since at least Newtown three years ago, and only now has Obama gotten around to requesting more money in the budget to deal with it.
-
And Ace explains what’s good and what’s really wrong with the whole thing.
Two parts of his EO are common sense, increasing the number of FBI staff on the background-check detail, and a request to increase funds for mental health, to the tune of $500 million. Both of those measures are responsive to conservative cries of why don’t you actually do a better job utilizing the law and authority you already have? and why don’t you do a better job trying to keep dangerous people away from guns?
-
I guess 50 years ago, most if not all of the mentally ill were locked up in mental wards. Thus not able to commit carnage. Now they are free and loose, free to stop taking their meds — assuming they have had any treatment at all — and run wild.

Might it be simpler to legally change your Mom’s name to match the document? -
Oh yeah. I’m really confident in these government institutions to protect the Second Amendments rights of people.
-
Try to gain non-profit status for a legitimate watchdog organization and the government unleashes the near-unlimited powers of seven government agencies on the applicants and their businesses.
Oh yeah I really trust them.
-
The stated goal of allies of the government cartel is to turn the healthcare system into a Euro style agency of the cartel…where the sick, lame and mentally depressed are now routinely put to death like a sick dog.
Oh yeah. I really trust them.
-
I’ve heard liberals many times refer to conservatives like Trump and Cruz as being mentally unstable. In fact, anyone who doesn’t agree with the liberal position(s) may be considered a mental case and unfit for gun ownership. BTW, under Obamacare, who actually controls the doctors? The government should have no role whatsoever in the gun debate except seeing to it that the 2nd Amendment is accessible to all. Once again, if I have to depend upon government to keep me safe, I have to give up some of my liberties – something I’m not voluntarily willing to do. Get the government out of the gun debate and back to the issues of killing muzzies and fixing potholes.
-
Are we really ready to disarm any vet under the care of the Veterans Administration branch of the cartel whose doctor makes a notation of depression in his chart?
-
And if you’re running around with a pistol strapped to your hip around the chilrens you are bat chit crazy.
-
So now, my friend, you have my knee-jerk Conservative reaction to the President’s plan.

I don’t care, Sarge. The doctors are feeding this information into the gaping maw of the the Federal government.

Good afternoon Hamsters. Spouse worked from home today again as he broke a tooth yesterday and was able to get an 8 am appointment with our dentist whose office is maybe 4 miles away. No sense driving in to the office and back and wasting a couple of hours driving. So that’s why I’m late on the couch.
Regarding empowering/requiring MDs to report to the FBI patients they regard as unstable, depressed, etc. to be added to the no gun purchase list, just where are any patient protections? A caller to Rush today nailed, umm, just how does one who is the victim of being placed on that list unfairly/wrongfully get off that %@%!!&+ list. Like the No Fly list that had Teddy Kennedy on it? And thousands of others who should not be on it but somehow through government error are?
How does one clear his/her name in the loony land of the Feds?
And a second good question is why should any MD who is not a board-certified psychiatrist be empowered to make that kind of a determination? Like a gastroenterologist has the expertise, or a pediatrician, or a cardiologist? Get real.
-
And be assured that the faceless little drones in the Justice Department and the Medical Cartel will interpret it any way they want and produce thousands of pages of “clarifying” regulations.
Oh yeah I really trust them.
-
I know a couple of doctors that have no business being doctors, much less government firearms gatekeepers.
-
I can name ten people that should be on that “no buy” list.
I’m just as qualified to make that determination. -
If you like your gun, you can keep your gun.
If you like your bullets, you can keep your bullets.
As a matter of fact, these new executive actions will most likely save you 2500 dollars a year on bullets and guns.
Period!!

One of the funnier moments lately…
At one point Fay was moved back into ICU and I returned following a break and they were moving her from Bed 8 to Bed 15 across the way.
I approached the head RN and looked at her questioningly.
She explained that it was ICU policy to not have, side by side, two people with the same name. I lowered my head, peered over the top of my glasses, raised one eyebrow, looked over at the black man in Bed 9 and looked back at her.
She started giggling. -
When Fay is completely back from never-never land I must tell her the story.
I’ll also remind her that at some point the morphine-flying Fay blurted out, “But I liked Bed 8 better!” -

Revenge is sweet. This will be payback for the unmerciful razzing she gives me about the occasion of my coming out of anesthesia following a colonoscopy.
She never would provide any details other than to imply that I’m a bigger lech under the influence than normal and how the other nurses won’t soon forget me. -
I think she’s been pulling my leg all along.
She’s knows I’m no lech.
Just a more refined, harmless flirt. -
I finally got to watch the Ted Cruz video in post #2. Very funny and clever.
-
Happy New Year, Mr. Phil.
-
I’m watching PBS Frontline’s takedown of BiBi Netanyahu.
Our politics are so vapid in comparison. -
I cannot tell if this is a new video made in response to Obama’s executive action to grab guns or if it was made previously in response to Obama’s rhetoric that controlling guns will reduce violent crimes. Either way, it’s outstanding. It Donald Trumps Obama in that it hits him personally and in an indisputable way. Definitely applicable to the executive order.
-
If someone cannot balance a checkbook, are they mentally ill to use a gun?
If soneone drops out of high school, or failed high school, are they too “ilintellectual” (I made that word up as I did not know what word to use) to use a gun?
What direction will these doctors go?
-
What direction will these doctors go?
When the doctors are government employees they will go in whatever direction the government cartel tells them to go.
-
Thanks Mr. Shannon.
I never even knew that you cared. 😉
-
Ted’s ad on immigration is Robin Hood hitting the bulls eye center with the first arrow and splitting that one with the second arrow. 🙂
-
Hate to inform you, kids, but old folks just do it better and have a lot more fun in the process.

#66;
When the doctors are government employees they will go in whatever direction the government cartel tells them to go.
Darth Obama finds your lack of faith disturbing, Shannon.
I, on the other hand, find it enlightening.
