Hang in there, Max.
-
Missing his mom huh? My Lil’ Girl is coming home tonight, since I got back from Alabama, I’ve missed that little $#!T. ๐
-
Lil’ Bit has been riding the Mule almost every day this past week, she loves it.

Back home after two weeks of traveling the great State of Texas visiting friends and extended family. When you put everything in perspective right now, Texas really ain’t a bad place to be.

SD, don’t know what it is about those mules that dog’s love, but at my friend’s place in Lufkin, the dog always rides shotgun, so guests have to ride in the back seat.

Governor Greg Abbott in his wheelchair stands taller than Obama ever could on a 12-foot stepladder. Thank you, Governor Abbott.

Was thinking that when Fay moves to a skilled nursing facility perhaps that place will allow pet visitations.
Memorial Hermann Katy has regular visits by therapy dogs brought by their volunteer owners who have taken classes with their dogs in therapy dog training. Our good friend who’s a past president of the volunteers at Memorial Hermann Katy says the patients very much enjoy the visits as do the dogs. Patients are asked in advance if they would like a visit, and most do. One of the favorite dogs is George, a Great Dane who is so laid back and calming. George also knows where the cafeteria is in the building but has to settle for doggy treats dispensed in the lobby after the visits. ๐

Such a good dog. Our dogs get that way whenever we start packing our bags. Makes leaving difficult.

Hubby used to do plumbing for a lady who had trained cats for cat therapy. I believe her husband, who raised show dogs (boxers) also had therapy dogs. It gave her great pleasure to take her cats to hospitals and nursing homes and watch them do tricks and provide loving for the folks.
-
Well, here I am on the first business day of the new year, rarin’ to go, and everybody decided to sleep in. First.
-
Y’all keep Hubby in your prayers. He’s spent all weekend trying to deal with the excruciating pain. He said he was doing better this morning until he got out of his truck. I’m about to make his dr. Appointment for him. I’m going to bring our wheelchair and take him in later. Good bless him, he’s fighting to complete his job today…working through the pain. We have an extra pair of hands that he can draw on, thank goodness, otherwise he’d have to shut down.
Please pray for a hopeful prognosis and that the doctor can provide adequate pain management if not a solution too his problem.
-
Prayers up, Tedtam. Working with pain is a real…pain.
-
Thoughts and prayers for hubby, Tedtam. Pain is no fun, especially when they get to the levels your husband has.
-
I am assuming this is an open comments thread, not one dedicated to the very patient and loving Max. On that assumption, I say, ยจque viva o Brasil!ยจ
-
We have a 3:30 appointment, in case you want to concentrate on Hubby around that time…pray for the doctors, that they can find a solution.
-
Got to hand it to Hubby – I expected him to wake me up this morning to make breakfast for him and help him get ready for the day (he’s been sleeping in his recliner, as it’s easier on him when he hurts like this, and he doesn’t want to wake me up, either).
I got up a little later than I planned and went into the kitchen. He was already gone, and I could tell he used one of our bar stools to sit on near the stove so he could fix his own breakfast, not asking me to help him. He wanted me to sleep in. I can only imagine how hard that was for him.
Sometimes his thoughtfulness brings me to tears. I would have helped him out. All he had to do was call me on the phone and get my butt out of bed.
-
Prayers up for Mr. TT. At 3:30 I will be in the tooth cleaning chair. Sometime this afternoon, HeartCrusher and Spouse will be heading north to Urbana Ill.
All he had to do was call me on the phone and get my butt out of bed.
Would that be a butt call?
-
Butt dial or booty call?
-
yes.

Is this the ultimate in hypocrisy?
http://www.speaker.gov/video/weekly-republican-address-putting-obamacare-repeal-bill-president-s-desk#overlay-context=general/obamacare-repeal-hit-presidents-desk-first-timeSeems that just a couple of weeks ago Ryan’s House of Hypocrites passed an omnibus spending bill that funded all these things for the next year. Talk about a “show” vote. A pox on all of them.

#22: Talk about blindsiding, just imagine if JugEars actually signed the repeal? Those fargin R eunuchs would not know what to do next and would be reduced to a pile of quivering schizzle.
-
Well as I said earlier, back to the “Salt Mine”
Prayers for Mr Tedtam and of course, Fay, I do hope that y’all get better soon.
I woke up about 1:00 this morning fighting off a Lil Dawg that was all up in my face, she sure was glad to see me.

If you liked last year you are gonna love this year.
The big fan is set up and the stuff is ready to be thrown in it.

Reminds me of my last visit with my mother. It would be TMI to regale you with her stories, but we were both laughing our heads off at what the poor aide was faced with after Mom was given certain medication.

I knew we were getting close (another day or two?), but I have been abruptly informed that our stay at this Five Star Resort At The Houston Zoo is sadly coming to an end.
We’ll be Katy bound some time today. The fine cuisine and cabana girls will be sorely missed.

Well, Max can smile now. Fay is going to the halfway house…halfway home that is.
-
You gonna have to step up the menu now Shannon, Spam and beer not gonna fly!
Happy for y’all.
-
Yay for Fay!
It may be a while before things to return to normal – whatever that is – but it will be nice to try, I’m sure.
-
Yea for Fay and Shannon. Halfway home and a whole lot less overwhelming digs somewhere in Katy for Fay, much less hectic drive for Shannon, and Max gets the company he longs for more frequently. Hope the place allows pet visits.
-
So nice to have a second crisp sunny day in a row. Upper 30s this morning, nudged 60 on the front porch this afternoon. Tomorrow more of the same. Can we stand it?
Business news is all bad today, fulfilling what many folks have said was coming sooner than later with China pulling back on its shrinking economy and banking and currency valuation, and Wall Street goes into controlled panic mode as was also forecast. So the second shoe will drop sometime when the Chinese demand we pay what we owe to them, as they’re just about holding a blank check we’ve already signed.
-
Prayers for Tedtam’s hubby and her mother; thanksgiving for Fay’s graduation to skilled nursing and Shannon’s reduced driving so he can better work that in around work.
-
Haven’t shipped out yet, but the betting window is now open for who gets to the Katy nursing facility first…me or the ambulance?
-
Doc thinks Hubby needs back surgery. Now we have to go through all those hoops – and his pain won’t be gone any time soon – to qualify him for surgery.
I told him about the all cash surgery center in Oklahoma…thinking it might be an option. Lots to discuss in the coming days.
-
#37 – That’s both the good news and the bad news. I would not go anywhere but to Methodist Hospital in the Med Center – those doctors over there are miracle workers. And the prep time will be well worth it to have it done right the first time. I would be looking forward to it rather than dreading it.

In the latest fiscal year, a review of city records shows Austin got a shade under $3 million for its recyclables, even as processing costs hovered around $4.8 million. The city lost $1.9 million last fiscal year and a $2.7 million in the two previous years as recyclable materials have fetched less on the open market than the cost to process them.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that city officials say if more residents recycled more, it would be easier to profitably sell a higher volume of material locally, rather than ship it elsewhere in the state, country or even overseas.
In 4 years, Austin lost $6.5 million on a recycling program that was supposed to bring in big bucks.
Don Surber said:
So what is Austin’s solution to lagging prices? Increase supply. Apparently despite being home to one of the best universities in the land, no one at Auston City Hall ever cracked an economics book.

Great news for Fay & Shannon.
TT and Hubby, keep us posted. I’m not clear on how leg pains are fixed with back surgery. What is the actual diagnosis? Does he have several different problems?
-
#40 M42: The spinal nerves that serve the legs come out in the low back.

Sigh, we were really bummed about the Packers losing to the Vikings last night. So they go their separate ways next weekend for the playoffs, and the Packers go to the Washington Redskins for the game. There I said it, Redskins.
The biggest hole the Packers have this season is the one left by Jordy Nelson’s knee injury in the preseason that put him out for the season. Nobody has come close to filling that space. Nobody.

Redskins, Redskins, Redskin.
Redskins.
Izzat a football team?

Here’s a new way for Super Dave to travel from Galveston to Florida. He can thank me later. ๐

The Redskins are the Washington DC football team that the PC loonies are all in a tizzy about insisting the owner change the name, and before they can accomplish that coup, the media must refer to the team as the Washington team. And nevermore utter the name Redskins.

Shannon, its good to have your bride closer to home and the fact that they’re letting her move means she’s getting better. That ICU stuff is scary.

I wonder how long it will be before this is horribly abused? These crap weasels could simply change the book of disorders to state that anyone who believes in private ownership of firearms is mentally unstable. Don’t PCP docs have to ask if there is a firearm in the house now, as a provision of Ocare?

For those who never check the front page, there is a Tuesday O.C. thread posted.
