Good morning from foggy Dallas today.
-
Well, with that OC Pix, you’ll surely not get Hamous back. What’s happening in the Big D?
Mornin’ Gang -
Well the “Head Savage” has assumed room temperature.
French investigators have determined that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected ringleader of the Paris terrorist attacks, was killed in a major police operation in a suburb of the city.
Another key suspect linked to Friday’s atrocities by ISIS attackers in the French capital is still at large. And Belgian authorities are conducting fresh raids around Brussels.
ISIS, meanwhile, is continuing to fuel alarm and outrage around the globe, announcing the killings of hostages from China and Norway and claiming it plans to attack New York City.

RE: Terrorist and room temperature
I heard on the radio this morning that he was identified from “skin samples”.
I’m guessing there may not have been much of him left?

I’ll just leave THIS right here……. 😀

I had my class last night, and now I get a week off for the holiday. My bouncer confiscated a phone from the same guy I took it from the week before. We may ask him to relinquish his device upon entering the room. Obviously, that’s an addiction that he has a hard time dealing with, so we’ll help him out.
I gave the kids a pop quiz – based on information we had just covered – and it was open note and open book. I’m still betting a lot of them fail, because they just don’t pay attention or care to fill out the class worksheets I provide for them.
You should have seen their faces when I repeated the message that they’ll have to pass a test AND be able to recite from memory five of the basic prayers of our Church in order to avoid seeing me again next year. I guess the first time I told them this they were, again, not paying attention.
It’s so sad to hear that we have students who don’t even know how to do the Sign of the Cross. It’s how we start and end most every other prayer we say, it’s how we start and end every mass, and it should be one of those things they do without even thinking about it. It is a short declaration of our belief in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Holy crap, what have(n’t) their parents been doing at home? My kids could do the Sign before they were able to form complete 6 word sentences!

After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction
If you make yourself his slave, you might get laid! That is, if he can overcome that horribly stressful office and that interminably long work day.

The “playful ISIS cowgirl” shown on Drudge looks to me like she’s throwing gang signs. Glad to hear they found her spine in the street after she blew herself up.

Okay, the women on The View made fun of Carly Fiorina’s looks, which just smacks of pettiness. Their was an outcry over their feminist hypocrisy, and they felt so much heat that they had to respond. Carly came on their show and was gracious about their abominable behavior, and the witch–I mean, “women” – tried to justify their personal attacks by saying they were comediennes and it was part of their shi— I mean, schtick. They wanted to know when Carly was going to get a “thick skin”. Carly smiled the whole time, told them they could say whatever they wanted to say. Now, I see this?
Will they ask Hillary about her skin thickness?
In what appears to be a first for a serious presidential contender, Hillary Clinton’s campaign is going after five comedians who made fun of the former Secretary of State in standup skits at a popular Hollywood comedy club.
A video of the short performance, which is less than three minutes, is posted on the website of the renowned club, Laugh Factory, and the Clinton campaign has tried to censor it. Besides demanding that the video be taken down, the Clinton campaign has demanded the personal contact information of the performers that appear in the recording. This is no laughing matter for club owner Jamie Masada, a comedy guru who opened Laugh Factory more than three decades ago and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many famous comics. “They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complains before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”

Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT, a retired Navy SEAL Team Six commander, says the U.S. should stop bringing in refugees until they can be properly vetted.

Regarding the argument that refugees must pass a criminal background check before they are admitted into the U.S., he said on the radio program, “Suicide bombers are not repeat offenders.” -

American Interest quoting the WSJ:
Houston is weathering a prolonged plunge in oil prices, but the city may have an even bigger problem: its pensions.
Though economic growth has only slowed, not stalled, in Texas’ largest city, its finances are showing what several investors and analysts describe as warning signs. Those include a rapidly growing gap in funding its retirement plans for public workers and a limit on its revenue-raising capabilities imposed by a voter-approved cap on property taxes.
The $3.2 billion pension-funding gap is threatening Houston’s Aa2 credit rating from Moody’s Investors Service, hurting demand for its debt and emerging as an issue in the city’s mayoral race.

A new NBC News poll showed that more Americans support sending more troops to fight the Islamic State (IS), Meet the Press Daily reported Wednesday. The poll was conducted between November 12 and November 15.
President Obama had previously said that putting troops on the ground would be a mistake and stood by his current strategy on fighting IS.

I forgot to mention this earlier, three WB 57’s flying together. This will be the first time that three WB-57s will be aloft simultaneously since the early 1970s, when the U.S. Air Force had an operational squadron of WB-57s.

Poland PM has a great idea…
Take all these military age refugees, make them an army, and have them fight for their country instead of asking other countries to do it for them.I’m willing to help them, but I’m less willing to do it for them.

Finally some good news in my neck o’ the woods; El Dorado underpass to reopen amid Gulf Freeway construction project.
El Dorado opens at 11am Thursday, November 19. Bay Area Boulevard’s construction will take place in the first quarter of 2016 – long after the holiday shopping madness.
WhataBurger here we come.

Muslims like to stone and behead people, but serving as patriotic regular army — not so much. Waste of time, resources to train these bums.

Howdy again on today’s OC. Still a beautiful day, sunny & 75.

Yessss! Having thrice spoken one on one with Ted Cruz when he was running against Dewhurst for the Senate nomination, I have no doubt he would intimidate Obama one on one, so it won’t happen if Obama can help it. Like a master chess player, Ted thinks several moves ahead of the present one. Can’t say the same of Obama who can’t think on his feet without TOTUS. -
22. Interesting that the article included Chicago. Then discussed the ‘battle brewing’ between providers & consumers of city goods. Then thru in the “It’s in Democrat and Republican states”. Sorry, but Chicago & Houston are cities and have been controlled by Democrats for many years. (not saying Republican states don’t have issues, but they neglected to focus on the political management of the two cities mentioned)

Had a most interesting lunch meeting with a professing Jewish individual of a liberal bent. He said he heard that we (America) were being alluded to in the Middle East as ‘the crusaders’. Hadn’t heard that term since I read it in History classes. Didn’t hurt my feelings at all nor required a ‘safe space’!

SuperDave: The boss has a portable O2 concentrator that has a faulty (short or open) charging port. The unit has been replaced with a new and much improved model, HOWEVER, I would like to get the old one repaired for a backup. Seeing as you are the electronics repair wizard of world renown, would you please take a shot at it? I will bring it to you at a time of mutual convenience and prolly be able to drop a Benjamin on you to get it fixed ifn you are interested.
MODERATOR: please give SuperDave my contact info. -

Muslims like to stone and behead people, but serving as patriotic regular army — not so much. Waste of time, resources to train these bums.
Put them into separate training facilities so any embedded jihadis won’t threaten the standing army personnel, put guards around the facility and tell them “You will be trained to fight and whether you learn or not, you will be deported back to your country at some point.”
If they decide not to train, their buddies who want a fighting chance at survival will either beat the crap out of them or shoot the bums themselves once they get the chance to keep themselves safe.

Since the article is in the online magazine of the very conservative American Enterprise Institute, it is assumed the presumably informed readers of that site
would know the difference. They know the people of Texas (and conservatives in general) are aware these huge urban cities are controlled by Democrats. I think the
thrust of the article was to point out even robust, conservative free market states like Texas cannot insulate their big city Lefties from burning down the house with the birthday cake. -

The accusation of “Crusaders” has been used in the ME since the first Gulf War. It’s so tiresome and ridiculous no serious person pays attention to it anymore. Well, except perhaps some semi-literate, ignorant suicide bombers…those of, shall we say, a short life expectancy.

Saw something different near Brookshire yesterday. Some sort of mass spider migration. All sorts of spider silk was blowing in the air. Clumps, strands, some of it well above the power lines. Some had spiders attached that reeled themselves in when the silk hooked something. I noticed four different types of spiders. The silk was streaming from the handrails, light poles, ladders, etc. by the afternoon. Lots of small spiders everywhere. Today there were a lot of wasps and yellow jackets looking for the spiders. Don’t recall seeing this before.

#25, My sister worked for a NASA affiliate that used one of those planes for high altitude research. She said they were very stable platforms and her co-worker enjoyed the ride. (She never went up.) When she showed me a picture of one I thought ‘that is a Canberra bomber’. Turns out it sort of is and two of those birds, if Wiki is accurate, spent time in Afganistan.

I think the Lord has played a joke on me.
I have had two little old ladies, complete strangers, offer me their unsolicited rave reviews of HEB brand canned green peas while I was standing in the canned vegetable aisle.
I can now report they taste just like every other damn peas I’ve ever eaten.
Consider yourself forewarned.

You and I went on strike and stopped eating green peas in the 1950s.
What in the world has happened to you ?
-
Oh and 42 while I’m at it.
-
Come Monday I will be celebrating 27 years of wedded bliss, tempered by the fact that green peas (sometimes with horrors! carrots) will be regularly served in this house. Forgive me for hoping beyond all hope there might actually be a tasty green pea out there.
-
I like green peas, and purple hull peas, and dried, ground chick peas HUMMUS, and prettyuch every other pea I have encountered. You can keep the mustard and collard greens.

World Toilet Day was declared by the United Nations and, therefore, doesn’t account for anything. Although, as I think about it, WTD may actually have been the most constructive thing they’ve ever come up with.

It’s National Ammo Day !
I did my part! *cha-CHING*

Flush the U.N. on World Toilet Day since they’re anti -American, completely full of $hi!! and a total waste of millions and billions of our dollars.

How can you not care about people that do not know the joys of sitting on a terlit or giggling when their wife falls into the hole when the seat is left up. BY gosh I think everyone should have a terlt. This is the 21st century don’t you know. Surely you do not want to let the heathens continue on living like heathens.
-
Now we know where to send any
excessall green peas to in the future. I can eat a myriad of vegetables from around the world, but I draw the line at green peas. -
Looks like Shannon has turned into a scab in Texpat’s eyes.

Message for Adee from Southern Tragedy
Jist found out that my red-headed step child’s horse rescue jist passed away. He had a bad case of colic. The only Arabian that I have ever loved. Please tell Adee for those who blog on Hammie’s couch. My heart is broken. RIP. Ramses Midnight Man -

Thank you for sending this sad news along and the picture. He was a beautiful horse and very well bred, sharing some common ancestors with our beloved Mara. I had researched his pedigree for ST when they first got him. Good old American breeding going back to some of the early horses in the Arabian Horse Registry of America stud book founded in 1908.
