Wow those dudes are up close and personal. Thanks EG.

Not a big fan, but this is pretty good

Problem: Party seems like a closed group of insiders resistant to new faces and ideas.
Solution: A loyalty pledge. https://twitter.com/politicoalex/status/639172884926218240 … -
Whut the heck am I doing up this early?
Cool pictures of the critters. Did the dillo have a Lone Star?

Who said the Squawkster had fell off the planet? 😉

Popcorn. I need popcorn. Lots and lots of popcorn.
A former State Department staffer who worked on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private e-mail server tried this week to fend off a subpoena to testify before Congress, saying he would assert his constitutional right not to answer questions to avoid incriminating himself.
-
#3 GJT: IIRC, T said he would consider a 3rd party run if the RNCe resorted to dirty tricks to keep him out. I think he is sure that if he signs the pledge, the dirty tricks will become an avalanche. T not signing the pledge is what keeps that from happening. He should sue the R parties in VA and SC to prevent them from corrupt monkey business.

Great pics. I bet he drinks a lot of coffe outside while watching his world walk, run, crawl, and fly by.

http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/hillary-clinton-hacked-emails-sale/
Apparently some hacker got everything out of H’s sent file box from her private email. This hacker will sell to the first $500k cash. 32k emails which have yet to be released. If the Rs had half a brain, they would buy them in order to see the Hildebeyotch imprisoned.
/not holding my breath
-
Well, Hillary may be more screwed than she thought. A hacker claims to have her emails and they are on the market.
Good to see her getting the shaft for a change.
-
Missed it by thaaaaaaaaaaaat much.

Feminists are angry
that Kermit the Frog’s new girlfriend is young and thin -
All those piles of brush in the background are the result of my year long efforts to reclaim that little patch. The city is supposed to haul it away eventually, but it may get a lightening strike first – it’s only been about 4 months since I called them.

Good morning Hamsters. Morning mist surrenders and glistening drops on the trees and grass bask in the sunshine now dominating the midmorning scene. Another moist day already is afoot keeping the green things green. The air is fresh and sweet.
Good start to a day that will be dominated by feeding the washing machine alternated with plowing through a sizeable box of mail our kind neighbors took in for us while we were away. Priority is finding all the bills and important stuff first and separating the catalogs (it is catalog flood season) and ads/donation requests for later disposition.
Oh, and a cool front is welcome any time now. 🙂
-
Say, EG, there is water visible through the trees in one shot. Is that the San Saba river in the distance? No wonder you have so many animals. BTW, no pix of cats you mentioned… Wild cats?

re my #7: Trump to take “the pledge”
HEADLINE: EXCLUSIVE: Trump will sign GOP loyalty pledge
/snip
“The rationale is that they have treated him fairly,” the associate said, echoing the criterion Trump has long given for taking a party pledge. “He’s willing to sign it to avert any problems with is state filings – South Carolina asked for a pledge to support the nominee if you’re on the ballot.
“He’s been treated fairly, like any candidate. … And it takes away a line of attack for debates.”
/snip
A top Republican source further explained Trump’s logic: He thinks he could very well be the nominee. And with the pledge in place, the other candidates would have to support him.The other candidates would have to support T, the irony is stunning. What remains to be seen now, is what kind of shenanigans will the Re attempt to derail Ts quest?
I firmly believe that the GOPe would torpedo a genuine conservative and let the D win in order to maintain control over a dying party. -
#9 Bonecrusher
Grin. Sean Hannity has a standing offer to buy Hillary’s emails from any hacker who has them. Might that lead to a bidding war between Sean and Hillary/Bill to obtain them? Might that also lead to the hacker requiring bodyguards to ensure his/her continued breathing? Vince Foster and all that, ya know.
Regarding the techie who set up Hillary’s illicit server and email system, mayhap Congressional committee chairmen can loosen his tongue a tad by strongly suggesting a charge of treason awaits if he doesn’t testify? National security compromised and all that.

Ds acting illegally, and the FEC is now requested to intervene.
HEADLINE: Judicial Watch: FEC Must Investigate Democratic National Committee for Employing Illegal Alien to Craft 2016 Political Message
The Democratic National Committee knowingly hired a Foreign National to assist, directly or indirectly, in setting the Committee’s Public Policy Agenda for its Candidates, the National Committee, and its Associated Organizations.
The United States has prohibited non-citizen participation in election related activities for over fifty years. The United States Supreme Court has held that such prohibitions are legally permissible under the U.S. Constitution… In 2002, Congress expanded the prohibitions on foreign nationals… to include “anything of value” that “directly or indirectly” contributes to a political campaign… The Commission has stated “foreign nationals [cannot] direct, control, or otherwise participate directly or indirectly in the decision-making process of [a] PAC.On its face, the DNC’s decision to hire Ms. Nava is in direct violation of this provision. The FEC should investigate this matter further to determine the full extent of Ms. Nava’s responsibilities, her relationship to the policy making team, and her effect on the 2016 DNC election strategy.
The Democratic National Committee is Willfully and Knowingly violating Federal Law and Contradicting Federal Policy by Permitting a Foreign National to Contribute to the Conventions Campaigns, Election Strategy, and Fundraising Efforts
The United States Congress created a federal offense to knowingly hire an illegal alien. It is against Federal law “to hire, or to recruit…, for employment in the United States an alien knowing the alien is an unauthorized alien… There are two elements to this crime: (1) knowledge of the alien’s status, and (2) an employment offer…Thus, the DNC is violating federal law by hiring Cindy Nava. Her fellowship constitutes expenditures under the FEC regulation, and therefore these illegal expenditures are within the scope of FEC regulations… They have actively employed Ms. Nava knowing that she lacked proper authorization to work in the United States.
I’m sure JugEar’s inJustice Dept will be all over this. . . .
-
Might that also lead to the hacker requiring bodyguards to ensure his/her continued breathing? Vince Foster and all that, ya know.
If the Rs had any sense at all (it certainly hasn’t been demonstrated in the last 7 fargin years) they would immediately provide Secret Service protection for this hacker and they would obtain the emails in question and enter them into the record. Drop the hammer on that vile, evil, corrupt witch and the Ds that have been protecting her.
Picture this scene: Hildebeyotch in an orange prison jump suit behind bars and Bill on the outside laughing and pointing. . . .

The armerdillar on a Lone Star binge ate the cats.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an armadillo on the hoof in the wild.
I’ve only seen the ones who were rubber-stamped, i.e. a road pizza.
-
armadillos = self propelled speed bumps
-
El Gordo has a lovely menagerie passing through his back yard. Perhaps the regulars will be given names? Looks as though all the labor clearing the bush was worth it.
Seems as though the good Lord must look out for the armadillos, ’cause they were behind 5 doors when He passed out the brains. 🙂

$15 – That’s actually a house in the background rather than water. The SS river meanders through north of me a couple of miles. I sit on a little hill that drops off into the SS River flood plain. My Dad built this first house out here on a lot which was carved out of the brush and cactus pasture, but now the area has been platted, new streets cut, and new houses built. It’s still pretty rugged though, and I don’t have a bulldozer to work it properly. Limestone rock is plentiful and seems almost solid just a few inches under the surface, and the top soil is very thin. As to the cats, I don’t bother to take pictures of them. They are mostly feral, but my neighbor feeds them so they stay around and help keep the snakes away. Fire ants have just about taken out the rabbits and the quail. Fortunately I haven’t found any evidence of hogs right here, but they are all over the county so I expect them to show up any day. Armadillos are about the only surviving pre-historic dinosaur era animals. If I ever get my yard back in shape I’ll probably have to dispose of this one or his heirs because they do dig for bugs and they don’t cover the holes back up.
-
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an armadillo on the hoof in the wild.
City boy.
-
IIRC, armadillos are really prime for road kill because they have hairs on their back that, when stimulated by a car going over them, cause them to jump up. Those that might have survived seal their doom at that point.
On another topic – any discussion about mayoral race here in Houston? I don’t hear much about the candidates. I finally saw an ad for someone named Costello, I think.
-
#15 – that ‘could easily be’ a dry river bed you’re seeing in the background (not that I know just supposing)………….I crossed the San Saba on US87 south of Brady a couple of weeks ago – it was a merely a trickle at that location
*WHOOPS*!! – upon further review I was on US83 at Menard……………
-
Fortunately I haven’t found any evidence of hogs right here, but they are all over the county so I expect them to show up any day
Is there general agreement in your neck of the woods that feral hogs are to be shot on sight?
-
I met a wildcat driller once, who told me all about the hoops he had to go through with the EPA, etc., when he wanted to drill. There were all kinds of protections to preserve the drill sites and promises to pay to restore it, etc. Very expensive and a huge PITA.
He said it really wissed him off when his drillers would say they’d be up on the rig and looking down, see feral hogs ripping the area up. Hogs are so incredibly destructive, and he knew that he’d be responsible for fixing the damage from the hogs because he’d get blamed for the damage to the environment.
-
The Clinton – Obama war is starting to heat up
There will be bloodshed. As Sarge says, where’s the popcorn?
-
Hogs – no season, no bag limit. Leave them where they fall and the other hogs eat them. Airplanes, helicopters, tanks, no problem. And the hogs, just like the muzzies, are still winning.
-
Wild hogs. Not just for dinner.
Wild hogs – DC variety. Unsafe at any distance or condition. Should be discarded on sight.

This is interesting; The Broker Who Saved America.
Posted July 4, 2015 by Joshua M BrownYou know Hancock and Washington and Franklin and Jefferson. You might even know Greene and Knox, Henry and Hale.
But it is very unlikely that you know the name Haym Solomon. This is unfortunate, because he’s the guy who arranged financing to keep the Continental Army alive during its darkest days, finding the money to keep the revolution going when many were ready to throw in the towel. He was also instrumental in the founding of the Bank of North America – the country’s first “national” bank. Solomon’s contributions to the war and the founding of the nation, though seldom discussed, were of major importance. -

Just released is the news that Hollywood will soon begin filming a re-imagining of All The President’s Men to be titled All The Presidential Candidate’s Persons.
Like most re-imaginings, names and locations will be changed, but the basic premise will remain intact.
Playing the part of H.R Haldeman will be Huma Abedin with Cheryl Mills playing the part John Ehrlichman played in the original. The Washington Post locations will now shift to the US House of Representatives with Trey Gowdy playing the part of Bob Woodward and Darrel Issa playing Carl Bernstein.
No actor has yet been cast in the critical role of John Dean, however, it is rumored that Jacob Sullivan is being considered as a likely

TRUMP 2016
Get on board for the top floor or get left behind.
Remember to use the English ballot when voting -
Trump is so sure he is gonna win that he will allow only english ballots to bare his name.
-
Trump believes so much in English as the national language he will not travel on roads marked with multi-lingual signs
-
It is not well known, but Trump owns many ethnic restaurants and he only allows English only menus.
-
I have become a single issue voter. Trump is the only candidate that believes that English is the official language of the United States.
-
After he throws out all out country gangs from the United States Trump is going to deport all translators.
-
Trump will make a law that American televisions will show only English speaking shows. S.A.P. will be outlawed and disabled on all TVs.
-
Trump will outlaw multi-lingual instructions in anything that must be assembled or will be operated in the United States.
-
Squawkie, did you overdose on your meds at lunchtime?
-
Trump will outlaw multi-lingual welcomes and directions at the airport.

So let’s say T sign this loyalty pledge (or whatever it’s called) and he gets screwed out of the R nomination even if he should have rightfully won it. What happens if he goes ahead and runs independent anyway?
And if he changes his mind down the road, the party has no legal power to block Trump from reversing course and making an independent presidential bid.

HEADLINE: Biden: ‘Totally Legitimate Argument’ That Iran Can Use Sanctions Relief to Fund Terror
/snip
Biden, while defending the deal to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) and a group of Jewish supporters, addressed the financial benefits for Iran as a result of the agreement.“Well, Joe, even if I believed you were able to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, you’re going to give them a whole lot of money, Joe Boy!” Biden said with a laugh. “And they’re going to go out and do more of the bad things they’re doing now, do it more efficiently and threaten our friends in an existential way because they’ll have so much more money and capacity. Totally legitimate argument and concern.”
He defends the deal with a chuckle while he admits that “our friends” (ISRAEL) faces an existential threat because of the deal.
There’s real presidential timber in that forest. . . .NOT!

Evil Hallmark. Steeped in microagressions.
I’m shopping for a birthday card for my dad. He’s black. All the cards are for white dads.
I’ve purchased many birthday cards over the years. What do birthday cards for “black dads” look like and how are they different from “white dad” birthday cards?
-
The Petrol Station owner Ben Fullelove pointed out other benefits. “You didn’t have to be prepared. You could just show up and decide you wanted a couple of beers from the [tap] wall to take home and didn’t have to have an actual growler with you. Plus, they’re lightweight.”
Fullelove knew he was going to have a problem when TABC told Austin-based Cuvee Coffee Bar to stop putting beer in crowlers. Since Fullelove also owns Brash Brewing Co., he’s in a better position than others who invested in the equipment since he can use it at the brewery.
On a one-to-one basis, crowlers are cheaper than growlers, only adding a dollar or two to the overall cost of taking beer to-go. The Petrol Station was actually giving away the crowlers for free with beer purchases. 32-ounce glass growlers usually cost between $4 and $7. Of course, growler costs can be defrayed over time, provided they’re not shattered in some mishap.
The TABC has decided the use of crowlers constitutes “packaging” beer. Only breweries are allowed to can their products. The following excerpt from the FAQ section of the TABC web site explains their interpretation of the law as it applies to crowlers…
and,
Other bars losing their investments of $5,000 and up on crowler machines, crowlers and labels are Hughie’s, Nobi Public House and Hop Scholar.
Hughie’s may have been hit hardest by the TABC decision. They’d previously held a mixed beverage license. In order to be able to offer crowlers, they had to opt out of it and get a beer and wine permit instead, which owner Phillip Pham said cost an additional $5,600.
-
Now, personally, I would be very happy if no one ever got another tattoo, but I will defend vigorously every citizen’s right get inked if that is what they choose to do.
Actually, I think the New Jersey Tattoo Lobby is probably behind this whole thing. Back when Christine Whitman was governor of NJ, they removed the sales tax on all large trucks & tractor trailer rigs. The New York truck dealers went berserk because their business disappeared over the Hudson River overnight.
According to the petition, “single use, prepackaged inks” are “incredibly expensive and not offered by any of the better quality brands of ink.” The prepackaged inks are also only available in certain pigments.
The law mandates that the ink for each separate tattoo must come from “a sealed and pre-filled package of ink that is only intended for a single use.”
Tattoo artists are demanding that the bill be re-worded to allow for parlors to purchase larger bottles of ink and place it in small disposable caps—as is currently standard practice.
One tattoo artist who says he needs his work to “feed [his] three children” told Newsday that he currently owns “thousands of dollars’ worth of ink” and is “known to put out 20 or 30 [colors] when I’m tattooing somebody.”
Tattoo artist Brad Stevens of NY Adorned said that the restrictions are so absurd that anybody “reputable” in the industry would be forced to break the law.
“Cheap, mass produced tattoo inks can contain plastics and many tend to fade or completely fall out of the skin eventually,” said Stevens. “If this goes through you can expect every reputable tattooer to either have a hidden stash of their preferred, time tested ink, or simply decide to take their business out of New York.”
If stupidity were a capital crime, all the politicians in America would be on death row.
-
I agree that TABC rules are crony capitalism at it’s finest, but really, crowlers are packaging the product just like canning. On the flip side, big brewers aren’t permitted to retail their packaged beer either. Growlers are a decent compromise. I payed $10 for one and just swing by the neighborhood microbrewery and fill’er up.
But it really isn’t “Big Beer” cronying up to the legislature. It’s “Big Beer Distributor” setting the rules so’s they can be the monopoly middlemen.
-
Crowlers? Growlers? WTH?
I’m starting a Clueless Support Group.
We’ll have blackout drapes on the windows so factory beer can be discreetly served.

I vivdly recall buying a 32oz CUP of BEER at the McDonald’s DRIVE THRU in Arlington Texas back in the 70’s (this MickeyD’s was right across 360 from Six Flags)

Up until the mid-80s you could go through the drive-thru at Twilight Liquor here in the barrio and buy a mixed drink.

what the heck are Crowlers and Growlers?

To this very day, nearly 27 years later I hear about being too late for a Christmas card and all that was left on the shelves was a card with a black family image. Not a racist thing, just obvious I hadn’t bought it in due time. 😀

But ummmm was that a guy in the last group? It looked like it needed a speedo to me. Could be wrong.

Yeah, just wait for the 2020 model.

I knew about growlers and crowlers because of a radio show on 950AM on Sunday afternoons. What’s on Tap. I liked James Simpson when he was producer for a Joe Pags show in Houston years ago. That show was cancelled but Simpson is still at 950. They have this craft beer chat show around the time I am starting my Sunday afternoon nap, and for reasons I cannot explain, I find it fascinating to hear 30-something men talk about non-factory beer.
-
What, 57 year old men can’t talk about non-factory beer?
-
Well now:
A child shot a teen that was trying to break into a home in north St. Louis County. Police say the 11-year-old shooter fired one round from a handgun and killed the 16-year-old suspect. The shooting happened in the 10200 block of Hallwood drive.
Two suspects tried to break into the home twice before on Thursday. One of the suspects got into the unlocked front door of the home at around 2:30pm while the 11-year-old and a 4-year-old girl were home alone. That is when the 11-year-old shot and killed the suspect. Police found the body with a gunshot to the head in the front foyer of the home.
