I give Carly Fiorina’s speech at the Reagan Library a six out of a possible five. Her speech lasts about 27 minutes and then there’s a 15 minute or so question and answer session. Overall I give that four stars out of a possible of five stars but her answers to the second and third questions are classic.

I’ve seen or heard in the East Coast media echo chamber the outlandish statistic there have been 204 mass shootings in 204 days in America in 2014. So I looked it up.
This figure is being cited from a bulletin board group at Reddit who have created their own criteria. The vast majority of shootings occur in rough, low-end neighborhoods and reading the individual news reports make it clear they are gang/drug dealer shootouts or revenge attacks.
The statistics also include insane madmen like the guy in Louisiana and clearly terrorist assaults like the Chattanooga massacre.
In more scientific jargon, it’s all bullsh*t. But it is being repeated over and over again now.

Supposed academic campus rape expert is exposed as a fraud by Reason.com.
His influence is evident in the recent documentary The Hunting Ground, and the producers continue to promote his work along with their film. In Jon Krakauer’s new book, Missoula, about sexual assault at the University of Montana, Lisak’s name appears more than 100 times.
Much of the urgency around the topic of sexual assault on college campuses traces back to Lisak’s repeated claim that campus offenders are violent sociopaths who use “sophisticated strategies to groom” their targets and “terrify and coerce their victims into submission.” Lisak asserts that 90 percent of campus rapes are committed by serial offenders who average six rapes each. He has said that “every report should be viewed and treated as an opportunity to identify a serial rapist.”
and,
When I asked how he was able to speak with men participating in an anonymous survey for research he was not conducting, he ended the phone call.

Good for Mike Lee and good for Ted Cruz. Although I would like the two other senators be on record, I do applaud their coming forth to confirm what Ted Cruz said regarding McConnell a liar.

Adee from yesterday;
I agree that it’s good for the LDS church to stand on its principles. All churches should and the hit to the BSA is not going to be small.

Good morning Hamsters. A pleasant 73 and the usual ground mist were the early morning greetings today. But of course they didn’t last long, and the mist was just a quick drink for growing things outside the reach of sprinklers.
As for the personality profiles above, the Are You Stupid box and Are You Paranoid box could easily swap the No answers embellishments and maybe make for more fun.

The OC pic is hilarious. I needed a laugh this morning!
Trying to see if I can get a ride to Dr. this morning. I don’t think I can take myself, and the back is worse today than yesterday.

#10 Darren:
My understanding is that the vast majority of Boy Scout troops are sponsored by religious organizations. Granted that the Christian Church is not the monolith of morality that it once was, nevertheless I suspect that there are a lot of churches and families that are going to be looking for an alternative.
When you add in the fact that the BSA has already lost much of what originally made it great, I’m not sure it can survive long term. The Boy Scouts was always about helping boys to become men. I’m not sure that our society actually wants men any more.

Morning, everyone. Insomnia last night — just now on my first cup of coffee. Hubs has instructions to shout “9 o’clock” into my bedroom if I’m not up by then. As soon as I’m ambulatory, I have to feed the frantic cats, and then throw some bird seed out back for the hysterical pigeons. Only then do I put on some water for my coffee.

This amounts to more than a “smidgen of evidence” of IRS corruption.
The walking [substitute common euphemism for kitten that starts with a p here] that call themselves R leadership will not likely do anything with this info. -

HEADLINE: Hillview man arrested for shooting down drone; cites right to privacy
/snip
“It was just hovering above our house and it stayed for a few moments and then she finally waved and it took off,” said neighbor Kim VanMeter.VanMeter has a 16-year-old daughter who lays out at their pool. She says a drone hovering with a camera is creepy and weird.
“I just think you should have privacy in your own backyard,” she said.
Merideth agrees and said he had to go see for himself.
“Well, I came out and it was down by the neighbor’s house, about 10 feet off the ground, looking under their canopy that they’ve got under their back yard,” Merideth said. “I went and got my shotgun and I said, ‘I’m not going to do anything unless it’s directly over my property.’”
That moment soon arrived, he said.
“Within a minute or so, here it came,” he said. “It was hovering over top of my property, and I shot it out of the sky.”
“I didn’t shoot across the road, I didn’t shoot across my neighbor’s fences, I shot directly into the air,” he added.
This drone thing is getting completely out of hand. I just wish the guy would have gotten the sim card out of the drone and held it for evidence. The drone operators are peeping tom pervs.

Well, this is troubling — Is this Pope the Antichrist?
The article is right on his popularity dropping. His views on various topics have me scratching my head, others I cheer.
No one is perfect, but the Antichrist? I’ve heard of the prophecy this article refers to, but I’m not one for modern day prophecies. Like all of those end-time predictors, you never know how honest or accurate their visions are…

The Boy Scouts was always about helping boys to become men. I’m not sure that our society actually wants men any more.
If I was authorized to do so, I’d give FA a free lifetime subscription to hamous.org for that comment. Spot on.
I’m pretty sure our society is doing its level best to do away with actual men. The goal seems to be to create a society where males are not allowed to express any “non-conforming” politically incorrect opinion or to stand up for what they believe to be right.

Why this isn’t the final nail in the coffin of the IRS is an absolute mystery to me.
HEADLINE: IRS Failed to Search Five of Six Locations for Lois Lerner Emails
Rank, stinking corruption at the highest levels of the IRS. Is there a better reason to abolish it and start over with a national sales tax?

lol SD, only way that story could be better is it’d have been the Clintons in Arkansas and the trailer was hooked up to an El Camino!

Does Feminism Make Women Ugly?
While the sisterhood might not condemn women for piling on the pounds, men definitely do. But the weight gain, bizarre hair colour, piercings and “genderqueer” fashion trends in feminism aren’t, it seems to me, enough on their own
to explain why women who strongly identify as feminists are so often either physically unappealing or mistaken for men. There’s a persuasive line of reasoning that suggests women who are physically unattractive are more likely to have progressive politics, give up on blokes and retreat into feminism in the first place. (The rule doesn’t hold for men.) Even liberal bloggers like West admit that conservative girls are hotter, and, crucially, that liberal women tend to have more masculine features. By way of example, here’s Hanna Rosin, author of The End of Men.

Tedtam
but I’m not one for modern day prophecies. Like all of those end-time predictors, you never know how honest or accurate their visions are…
Let me start off with I do not know nor do I care who the anti-Christ is. The Bible tells us to look for the return of the Messiah, Jesus. Not the anti-Christ.
A lot of folks spend way too much time putting square pegs into round holes. I think this may be the case with this Pope. Again I am not willing to make the prognostication. The prophecy about the ti-christ is not new. It is very old and through history many men were supposed to be THE anti-christ. Hitler, Caesar and most any man that stepped onto the stage of history and committed horrendous atrocities.
The Apostle Paul spoke of the spirit of anti-Christ to the Thesolonians when they thought they missed “the Raputre/second coming of Christ. Especially since the early Chrisitians were being persecuted left and right.
I do not subscribe to extra Biblical “visions”. I will not load the blog with references, but there are plenty of explanations of what the coming real anti-Christ will be like in the books of the Bible. The Bible also says THE anti-Christ will not cannot be revealed till the “restrainer” is taken out of the earth. The “restrainer’ is generally recognized as the Holy Spirit, he is the one who keeps evil from running TOTALLY rampant on the earth.
If i was asked if the Pope was the anti-Christ I would have to say no. One description is that anyone who says Jesus is not the son of God is “anti”-Christ. I have heard the Pope say some things that make me scratch my head but I have never heard him deny the deity of Christ nor that he is the son of God.
Anyway we do not know and won’t know who the anti-Christ is till al mighty God allows him to be revealed.

Pretty funny and sad that their only defense is a claim that hours of video have been edited down to “make it look like” they are selling baby parts. I am not sure they really want to see the entire vodeo(s) released to the public.

Washington D.C., Jul 29, 2015 / 12:31 am (CNA).- A leader in LGBT grant-making has told business leaders that he wants to shut down the political fight for religious freedom exemptions in the U.S. within three years.
And these words are not empty rhetoric. A CNA investigation has found that millions of dollars have been poured into efforts to combat religious freedom exemptions in the United States.

Speaking of Oops.
I’m thinking of buying him a three legged stool so he can use it in the debates and duct tape the three agency names he wants to torpedo to each leg.
Then he can still take all the painkillers he wants and maybe have a beer or two chaser and he’ll still get them right.

When you give him that stool tell him I’m still waiting on that $2500 he promised.

Down from the Rummel Creek school is the home Shannon and I grew up in. Our parents built that place in 1958-59. There were only a few scattered homes out there past the old West Belt Road (now the Sam Houston Beltway). Great place to raise boys in those days. The house looks so small now.

When you look at the home in street view, imagine that there was nothing to the left of the driveway but woods, Buffalo Bayou, creeks and pastures until you reached Westheimer Road, many miles to the south.

The raw footage is available for anyone who wants to see it.
THAT is why they are focusing on the “edited” crap. They want to create the impression that it hasn’t been.

Everything “progressives” say is a lie. No exceptions. Vampire Richards learned from the best.

My computer just upgraded to Windows 10. First impressions, it’s much nicer than 8.1.

One of the signs of the antichrist is the mark of the beast, which each person must have in order to buy or sell. My big question is what is going to have to happen in order for that to take place?
My suspicion/speculation is that it will be a global currency meltdown combined with almost universal identity theft. The only way for really secure transactions to take place would be to have everyone microchipped and digital currency only. Most likely this would be under the purview of the one world govt/UN.
They willake sure that payback for all perceived wrongs is a real beyotch. -
Wonder what happened to Windows 9.
? -
Just about anything would be better than Win 8. I’m still running 7 and it’s a pretty good, stable platform. They decided to do away with Windows Media Center which I like and use quite a bit, so it’s doubtful I’ll be upgrading any time soon. When is an upgrade really a downgrade? Just about anything after XP. Windows 9 was vaporware and vanished into the wind.

PP is tearing apart babies and selling their organs in the name of “progressivism” and the only thing “progressives” can find to get outraged about is Cecil.
