Hillary Clinton Posts This Picture at a Lemonade Stand, Gets Roasted.
Just read the comments. -
Am700 was lit up this morning about Cruz blowing the lid off of the sausage factory aka the Senate. The callers held Hatch, Cornholio, and other Cruz detractors with scorn and disdain. I think (wish, hope and pray) that the squishy, corrupt, establishment wing of the Rs days are numbered. . . .

Ticker Dude is alive and kicking (butts – OURS)
Things that I read and make me roll on the floor with laughter….
AND
Hey, employers, don’t even think about reimbursing your workers’ health-insurance premiums.
Beginning this month, the IRS can levy fines amounting to $100 per worker per day or $36,500 per worker per year, with a maximum of $500,000 per firm.Waiit — what?
This penalty amount is not written into Obamacare. It’s simply an administrative decision. It applies to any company that reimburses health insurance expenses for their employees — which a number of smaller firms do, rather than provide plans.
So what will these firms do? Drop their reimbursements, of course — right into the maw of 25%+ premium increases that are coming in many markets for the upcoming year.
Sounds like something that will increase health coverage to me…..
*NOT!!!*

TP: What is the general feeling up there of Cruz calling BMITCH McConnell a liar on the Senate floor?

Good morning Hamsters. Lots of ground mist at 6 is finally giving up about now. Opening temp was 76 this am but is already rising. High overcast so far, and a guess of 20% chance of rain this afternoon.
That is not overwhelming of course, but I recall that in June of 1976 a 20% chance of rain drowned the Texas Medical Center under 13″ one afternoon and into the evening. Of course large areas of town also got almost that much. I was stuck in the Fondren wing of Methodist Hospital where I worked part time, and spouse took refuge in a Target parking lot on Gulf Freeway for several hours trying to come get me. We finally got home around 2 am. After that experience I don’t take 20% lightly any more, especially after seeing railroad ties used for landscaping floating down Fannin.

GJT:
I apologize for not being more specific. (re. my post last nite). I don’t think Trump is a long term serious player. He’s a useful foil right now and he’s certainly bringing subjects to light that need discussion, but, the Republican candidate? No way.
If I had to choose today I’d probably vote for Cruz. He seems to best combine an anti-establishment attitude with an understanding of what actually needs to be done. But there’s 8 months before I have to vote in the primary, so I reserve the right to change my mind.

So you agree Trump is not worth us fighting over then?
-
And that no one, here anyway, supports him?
-
RE the OC pic of The Hamones: Are some of ’em wimmin?
-
I don’t think Trump is worth doing anything over! He’s a nine-day wonder (well okay maybe a few weeks) at best. He’s not even a serious player for VP.
I do think it’s interesting (and very telling) that there are so many people who are so frustrated with the Republican establishment that they will flock to the first person who they perceive as actually having a spine. Trump’s current popularity is a salient sign of just how out of touch the Republican party leadership is. If they blow this election there won’t be a viable Republican party anymore.

Yeah well, we keep saying that… 😀

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd they were last viable……………….WHEN?
-
I hate to be the one to break this to you, but there is no longer a viable Republican party – Democrat lite at best. I’m done with them. I’m not certain the plan to first have conservatives take over the party then the White House is worth fighting any more. McConnell is still Harry Reid’s biotceh, and all the party ladder climbers are lining up behind him, so screw them and their lying cheating ways. Trump is sprinting the first lap of the mile run, and most of the R candidates should be grateful as they don’t have to expose their limp wristed stump speeches this early. Hillary’s a shoe in anyway, so let the R’s go ahead with their split right now and the conservative will have a chance to make their case in 2020.

Not sure. The Hamones were a “popular” Central Florida hair band in the ’70s & ’80s.They suddenly faded from the scene and nobody knows why. Some say they lost their hair; others postulate they became an ’80s chick band.

I think popcorn and beer are going to be in short supply as we watch this debacle.

Israeli researchers have been able to decipher a charred scroll that was unearthed in an ancient synagogue over forty years ago. Using advanced technology like high resolution 3-D scanning that produces pixel perfect digital renditions, researchers from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) believe they’ve discovered that the ancient scroll contained verses from the Book of Leviticus.
(Snip)
According to the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Jerusalem-based organization that was responsible for the discovery, the deciphering of this substantial and important part of the Old Testament means that, to date, “this is the most ancient scroll from the five books of the Hebrew Bible to be found since the Dead Sea scrolls, most of which are ascribed to the end of the Second Temple period (first century BCE-first century CE),” the statement read.
That’s really cool

Fat albert #16;
It dawned on me today how in the 2008 presidential campaign I flocked to Tom Tancredo because he was the only person I knew of which openly discussed the border situation which concerned me. As I got to know him more though his overall positions concerned me. I was relieved when I found Duncan Hunter speak about the border and get things done about it (so far as only one Congressman could) and I strongly favored just about all of his positions.
Parallel that with Ted Cruz. His fabulous speech on the Senate floor makes him a very viable alternative for the Trump supporters to flock to. Trump stands for Trump and nothing else. He’ll always be that way so far as I can tell. Ted Cruz stands for so much good that his name needs to be promoted and I cannot imagine why many of the current Trump supporters would not like Cruz.

I don’t think Hillary’s a “shoe-in”. In fact, I think she’s a sure loser, given any kind of reasonable Republican candidate. And, I’m not positive that she’ll be the Dem candidate.
-

I could not agree more. Even if I believed Cruz to be sincere (I don’t) and he somehow secures the R nomination (which I don’t think he will) he still would have the issues of entrenched establishment Rs to contend with which would effectively neuter him, even if he did win the presidency. I will not vote for anyone with an ‘R’, a ‘D’, or an ‘L’ after their name. I’d consider an unaffiliated independent but they would really have to show me something.
-
#30 FA: That is Limbaugh’s position as well.
-
Dooood
he still would have the issues of entrenched establishment Rs to contend with
We have a winner folks. The proles can get behind the loudest noisiest candidate out there, maybe even get him elected, all they want but there are two others houses to deal with. Oh wait Obama has shown how to side step that little constitutional obstacle. So that begs the question, do we vote for the noisiest guy out there or really vet the damned candidates and see just what the hell they stand for?
I get this real sour feeling in my stomach when I see anyone or group of people people that get all doe eyed over someone “because he is saying etc etc etc”. Lemme see I watched so many folks across the country get a political erection because of Christy. Oh he was the end all because he was a smart arse took on the unions. Ain’t you glad we did not get him? In the course of discussions about Christy I presented his past record. Oh no we are not gonna hear about that and I watched as people ascribed what they wanted to see versus reality about Christy. BUT SQUAWK he took on the unions!!!!
AND THE SAME DAMN THING IS HAPPENING WITH TRUMP NOW.
Let me be succinct a and make no mistake about it
TRUMP IS NO CONSERVATIVE.
Check his friggin record. Read his books. And do not be fooled, some anti-trump folks think he cannot get elected. Really? We got Obama not once but twice. All on his friggin personality. Which brings me to my favorite saying:
At any time in history this country gets EXACTLY the president it deserves.

Hammie moved to Texas. Case solved.
But why did they disband? Surely Hamous wouldn’t just pack up and leave God’s Own Country and his dreams of Rock and/or Roll stardom without a good reason?
Maybe it was a combination of events. Some hair fell out, some kept their hair, but started batting for the other team, so to speak, leaving the Hamones without a clear raison d’être as it were.

I’d consider an unaffiliated independent but they would really have to show me something.
As I’ve heard it explained, there is no way for an independent candidate to get on the ballot in all 57 states.
-
There are, no doubt, countless answers to the above question, but let me take a stab at it: It’s conceivable, and I’m just spitballing here, that many conservatives are wondering: If the Republican Party is incapable or unwilling to make a compelling case against the selling of baby organs or the emergence of a nuclear Iran or the funding of a cronyist state-run bank—or all three—then really, what exactly can it do?
-
The last three nails in the coffin have been placed for Americuh.

#31 Doooood:
Okay, so you’re not gonna vote. That’s certainly your prerogative. Maybe you can spend the day fishing, or playing old ’80s rock songs (try to learn “School Days”!). Whatever makes you happy. . . . .
But as a good friend of mine often says: “if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.”
-
But as a good friend of mine often says: “if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.”
That is so much bovine processed hay. Just like if you don’t vote you cannot complain. Really? Show me that in the constitution. That specious argument is a set up for a guilt trip for one and power positioning for the other.
-
If I know “our” candidate supports abortion I am supposed to throw my principles out and vote for him?
-
My other favorite is:
A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for the other guy? Really? I did not know votes got transferred from one candidate to another? I especially like the argument that it is a half vote for the other guy. A half vote? I have never seen that in the final tally.
-
Vote for the most conservative candidate. Really? What if the most conservative candidate is a third party candidate or even a “D”. I have seen that scenario.
-
Squawk,
You and I have had this discussion in the past. And, in the last couple of years I’ve changed somewhat. But please note, my comment to Doooood said nothing about voting.
I can understand looking at the ballot on election day and deciding that there is no one that you can vote for in good conscious. But that’s no excuse to simply withdraw from the system and say that you just don’t want to participate any more.
-
I had no idea my political erection was showing. Sorry. 😀
-
Fat Albert
But that’s no excuse to simply withdraw from the system and say that you just don’t want to participate any more.
Heh, I don’t even do 10% of what I used to do. I needed some place and someone to place my faith and work in. POLITICS ain’t it. At the end of the day it is not worth my time.
Here this will explain my position.
You can add the recent Iran deal and baby parts videos to the list.
-
But that’s no excuse to simply withdraw from the system and say that you just don’t want to participate any more.
As far as I’m concerned the system is hosed beyond repair. My refusal to participate in it is not an excuse for anything. It’s me refusing to lend legitimacy to that which I consider illegitimate.
But please note, my comment to Doooood said nothing about voting.
That is simply incorrect:
#31 Doooood:
Okay, so you’re not gonna vote. That’s certainly your prerogative.

Just got back from getting jerked around by my favorite chiropractor. He commented on the fact that I didn’t even cry.
The crying occurred on the way in. Then they gave me ice to lean back on until my room opened up, then they put more ice on me while TENSing me and stuff. What Dr. B. was dealing was complete numbness.
On the first side.
I go back on Thursday. Cannot wait.

Just to make it clear how bad the Iranian deal is, use this for a comparison:
HEADLINE:IRAN DEAL WORTH MORE THAN ALL U.S. AID TO ISRAEL SINCE 1948
To think that JugEared Jackass actually gets away with saying he likes Israel. . . . .makes me wanna puke.
-
Well darn Dooood and I done ran Fat Albert off. And here we both tried to reason calmly with him.
Lemme check something
……………………………Time passes by…………………………more time passes by…………Nope neither Dooooood or I were rude.
-
Well darn Dooood and I done ran Fat Albert off.
Heh… certainly not my intent. I figure he’s just busy. I did want to address this though:
Maybe you can spend the day fishing, or playing old ’80s rock songs
Much as I’d like to spend all my time fishing and playing bass, I have a full-time (+) job that supports my family and involves neither fishing nor bass playing. So I fish and play when I can. And speaking of which we have a semi-short test-drive bar gig coming up in a few weeks with the cover band I’m in. Will post more specific details soon so if any of y’all would like to come out and have a beer or a Mormon Martini we’d love to have you. 🙂
-
Sorry Squawk, I had to do some paying work for a few hours there.
Dooood, my remark wasn’t meant to comment about whether you vote or not. I know it’s hard to believe but I wasn’t being sarcastic. I really meant that it’s your choice about whether to vote. Crap, if Fall 2016 rolls around and the choices are Hillary or Jebbie, I may just sit home myself.
As for being part of the solution – that may or may not involve the Republican party. Some days I think it’s fixable – other days, not so much. (More and more I’m thinking it’s just too badly broken and corrupt.)
Squawk’s part may just be praying. If we don’t start with God, whatever we come up with is gonna stink anyway.
Maybe it’s posting articles and comments on Facebook. Or sending endless letters and e-mails to elected representatives pleading with them to act like statesmen rather than contemptible weasels. But we ought to do something.
One of the reasons the US is in this state (a major reason) is that we all just assumed that things would rock along and we’d be okay. No need to worry. Well that didn’t work out. It turns out that you’ve gotta keep an eye on the taxi driver or he’s gonna take you for a ride.
It’s a real temptation to just give up, throw my hands in the air and say screw it, it’s too far gone, our best days are behind us, let’s just write it off and wait and see what’s gonna come next. The problem is that I have a daughter, and grandkids to come and nieces and nephews and friends, and friends children, etc. and I can’t stand the thought of them having to stew in this crapfest we’ve created for them.

Just saw where Boy Scouts of America lifted their ban on gay adults effective immediately. I had some great times while my son and I were still involved with it, and several good friends are still a part of it. But me, I’m glad my involvement with it ended when it did. That is an organization that is infected. Political correctness run amok.
