Lifelock also promised customers that sensitive data they provided the company to perform its protection services would be encrypted and protected in other ways on Lifelockโs servers and accessed only by authorized employees on a need-to-know basis.
โYour documents, while in our care, will be treated as if they were cash,โ the company promised.
But it turned out that none of that data was encrypted. The company also had poor password management practices for employees and vendors who accessed the information, and Lifelock failed to limit access to sensitive data to only people who needed access.
Whatโs more, the company failed to apply critical security patches and updates to its network and โfailed to employ sufficient measuresโ to detect and prevent unauthorized access to its network, โsuch as by installing antivirus or antispyware programs on computers used by employees to remotely access the network or regularly recording and reviewing activity on the network,โ the FTC found.

Poor ole Anderson Cooper didn’t know what hit him in his interview with The Donald. Love it. About time the haughty ones in the media became punching bags. Ted does a great job handling them as well so they often don’t realize he’s made idiots of them until some seconds or minutes after he does it. -
I learnt on the radio this am that the traffic stop was all about the heinous crime of failing to properly signal a lane change. There was no one close to her. The terd cop came up on her quickly and she got out of the way. Why was he hassling people in the first place?

Oh boy, that hurts. Wonder how many talk show hosts will drop them as sponsors given this dreadful info. Or perhaps some already quietly have, resulting in the stock price cratering as the public reads news articles like this one.
We’ve received quite a few offers to sign on with them that have come from recommendations by conservative sources. We did not sign up.

#8 – I’ve always been 110% resistant to remote back up or remote storage of any kind that I don’t have “direct & hands on” control of………..I do back up here on site though – I reckon the only way I can imagine to maintain “almost” total control & safety would be to rent a tiny air conditioned storage unit here in the neighborhood and stash one of those nice Western Digital personal cloud units there……..but even then a cinder block storage unit could have the A/C fail or burn down

How about a Fortress of Silence? Those always seem to be in cold climates.

#9 Whiskerfish: I too, have been way skeptical of the cloud storage thing. Security was my primary concern. I just don’t trust the cloud to be secure and there is ever growing evidence that it, in fact, is not.

RE: oc pic
I started my computer career as a user on a mainframe. (At A&M, we business people were blessed to have the first minicomputer on campus for our department, thus freeing us from the time constraints of sharing mainframe access for our homework. They showed us the machine, similar in size to the picture above.) I graduated to power user, still on mainframe, then gradually to a distributed computer system using PCs. I was in the office building as I saw them wheeling out the mainframe/mini computer on a dolly. By this time, I was working and teaching more in Access than in Focus, my original skill.
I remember sending my boss/friend with the contracting firm I was then working at about what I saw. It was kinda sad, watching a symbol of my early years in programming being wheeled away. My boss said the same thing, and how nostalgic and disconcerting it was to realize that we were seeing the end of an era.
Not the last, I’m sure.

This is exciting news! Eye drops treat cataracts.
My mother lost an eye to an after surgery infection (her fault, not the doctor’s, but that’s another story.) This would have been so helpful to her instead of going through the after-surgery issues that brought on the infection.

Lower first time claims tends to hide a record lousy labor force participation rate of only approx 62.5% . By my primitive math, that means that 37.5% of the labor force is unemployed which is at or worse that what the Great Depression was.
-
If the government can’t figure out how to keep cyberdata secure, I’m pretty sure they could get to mine pretty easily if they wanted to. That cloud storage business just makes it easier for the crooks to get a lot more information from just one breach – fish in a barrel so to speak. I just blame it all on Obama and go on about my life hoping I don’t spend my final days in a re-education camp somewhere.

A massless particle that can theoretically carry a charge 1000 times faster than an electron.
Introducing the Weyl Fermion.
HEADLINE: Scientists have finally discovered massless particles, and they could revolutionise electronics
After 85 years of searching, researchers have confirmed the existence of a massless particle called the Weyl fermion for the first time ever. With the unique ability to behave as both matter and anti-matter inside a crystal, this strange particle can create electrons that have no mass. The discovery is huge, not just because we finally have proof that these elusive particles exist, but because it paves the way for far more efficient electronics, and new types of quantum computing. “Weyl fermions could be used to solve the traffic jams that you get with electrons in electronics – they can move in a much more efficient, ordered way than electrons,” lead researcher and physicist M. Zahid Hasan from Princeton University in the US told Anthony Cuthbertson over at IBTimes. “They could lead to a new type of electronics we call ‘Weyltronics’.”

While the details of what happened the next day on July 21, 1865, are not entirely clear, historians agree that Tutt showed up in the town square in front of the courthouse around 6 p.m. with Hickokโs watch. Wild Bill appeared at the other end of the square and warned Tutt not to come any further. The two began to cross the square toward one another, drawing their pistols. Exactly how far apart they were and what guns were used are not definitely known. Itโs written that they were facing side-on, dueling fashion, almost 100 paces apart, with Hickok using his Colt Navy.
Tutt and Hickok fired one shot each. Tutt missed; Hickok didnโt. Tutt staggered and fell, shot through the heart, and Hickok was soon arrested and charged with murder. The charge was later reduced to manslaughter, but the jury found that Hickok acted in self-defense and he was acquitted.
The shootout launched Wild Billโs fame as a gunman. He went on to have a short-lived career as a lawman in Kansas, befriended other renowned figures of the Wild West such as Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill Cody, became a dime novel hero, married a circus proprietor, and continued his gambling career.

Here is a real lousy scenario: Trump just barely loses the R nomination to Jebba the Booosh and The Hildebeast secures the D position; Trump goes 4rd party to lift the big middle finger to the R establishment.
These are the possible outcomes:
1)The R vote gets split and the witch gets in
2)The R vote gets split and somehow Jebba still wins
3)The R vote gets split and in bizarro world, Trump winsIf 3 actually happens, does this finally spell the end of the establishment Rs ?

http://www.nbcchicago.com/investigations/Suburban-Woman-Found-Dead-in-Jail-Had-Previous-Encounters-With-Police-316025661.htmlWhile there’s a good case for misconduct on the Trooper’s part, and negligence on the part of the Waller County Jail, investigating this as a murder isn’t really warranted.

No matter what scenario you put Trump in, Hillary ends up the winner.
Dump him now if you don’t want that to happen.

On the morning of December 10, 2010, Plaintiff was driving his car and observed Defendant [police officer] parked along the side of the road working a traffic patrol. Plaintiff did not recognize Defendant, but as he drove by, he โfirmly gave [Defendant] the middle finger, the bird, whatever you want to call it,โ through the closed window of his car. Defendant โimmediately noticedโ that Plaintiffโs vehicle did not have a front license plate, and subsequently saw Plaintiff looking at him and giving him the finger as he drove by. Defendant then pulled Plaintiff over.
and this footnote,
[Footnote: In addition to this direct controlling authority, which establishes that expression that does not amount to fighting words may not be punished as disorderly conduct, the Court also notes that other courts have found that use of the middle finger while driving did not qualify as fighting words. See Coggin v. State, 123 S.W.3d 82, 90 (Tex.App.2003) (reversing conviction for disorderly conduct where the defendant showed his middle finger to the driver of another vehicle while passing on a highwayโ); State v. Rivenburgh, 933 S.W.2d 698, 701 (Tex.App.1996) (affirming trial courtโs finding that stop for disorderly conduct based on driver giving middle finger to another driver via the rear view mirror while at a stoplight was not supported by probable cause); Swartz v. Insogna, 704 F.3d 105, 110 (2d Cir.2013) (holding that giving middle finger to a police car while driving by did not justify a traffic stop of the vehicle).] โฆ

#46: I read most of the judges full opinion and I come to the conclusion that you may be able to beat the rap but you will not beat the ride and you will not win if you sue.
It just makes more sense to be polite and not start a problem where none exists. If the guy had refrained from lifting the finger of contempt, he would not likely have been pulled over.

The murder of Kathryn Steinle on the Embarcadero in San Francisco by an illegal alien is the most familiar example of a crime committed by an alien. But an unreleased internal report by the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that aliens have been involved in thousands of crimes in Texas alone, including nearly 3,000 homicides.
PJ Media obtained an never-before-released copy of a Texas DPS report on human smuggling containing the numbers of crimes committed by aliens in Texas. According to the analysis conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, foreign aliens committed 611,234 unique crimes in Texas from 2008 to 2014, including thousands of homicides and sexual assaults.

The breaking news out of Waller County is the initial autopsy report reveals substantial amounts of marijuana in Bland’s system at the time of death. But they sent the body back to Chicago without further testing to establish how long it had been since she consumed the pot. I suppose this was under tremendous pressure form the family, yet it seems to me the DA should have requested that testing.

When I was working my retirement job (in a convenience store) a couple that looked similar to the Obama’s pulled up and parked in the front since there were no other customers there at the time. After several minutes, I noticed that no one got out, and since their windows were down, it was easy to see that they were both passed out cold. I called the police and they came over and rousted them, they couldn’t perform any of the sobriety test tricks, so they were taken in to sleep it off. The booking officer later told me that the female advised that she was at home watching TV and minding her own dam business and the police broke down her door and dragged her off to jail for no reason at all. Where are the Justice Brothers when you need them.

Listening to Rush and Hannity this afternoon regarding the tapes on Planned Parenting released so far, it appears they are merely the first of many more to come to be released serially. Kind of a shocking, revolting drip-drip-drip that the PP folks and their supporters will further freak out over wondering what horror comes next.
If these revelations are not the topic of sermons from pulpits this Sabbath and Sunday, the respective clergy are not doing their jobs. And parishoners ought to make plenty of noise about it.
-
#55: Wouldn’t you just figure that the evil left is making a big stink out of the tapes? They are claiming that laws were broken because people were being recorded without thier knowledge!?!
It isn’t the barbarism of PP that is the issue, it is how the damning evidence was obtained. -
While in the Alamo city I made a point to watch their local news. Given the left leaning nature of the city, I was pleasantly surprised at how “straight up” the news was reported.
One story was a shockingly unbiased story on trends in gun purchases. The owner of a large gun store discussed the trends of the last twenty years. A well-spoken middle-aged black lady (customer) was interviewed at length. She discussed shopping for a handgun and spoke about how it was her responsibility to protect her family.
There was no disgusting editorializing or innuendo by the reporter.Astonishing.

I don’t know why everyone makes fun of The Donald’s combover. I think it’s a great combover and just one more reason for me to vote for him.
