Yup, I saw that on “True Florida Crackers”

Good morning from the city by the Alamo.
Egg shortage has the hotel serving complimentary egg-free breakfast. Bummer. -
Have you regular road warriors been running into an egg problem?
-
In other news, how do you even enter a freeway the wrong direction? Don’t know if I could do it sober.

Although it’s likely too late, I found this interesting; Democratic Party Machinery Shows Rust.
Leaders worry losses of state, local offices create shortage of top candidates.COLUMBUS, Ohio—Democrat Chris Redfern was confident of his re-election chances, and with good reason. Voters in his state House district had elected Democrats for decades, and he was Ohio’s Democratic Party chairman.
Yet on election day, Mr. Redfern lost to a tea-party Republican, a defeat that drove him from politics into a new line of work, running an inn and winery.
Mr. Redfern’s political exit came amid a string of midterm-election losses by Democrats in Ohio and nationwide that reflected a deeper problem: As the party seeks its next generation of candidates, the bench has thinned.

The dead tree version of the Comical this morning has a front section wrap-around ad from the Methodist Hospital. This thing is 4 full pages, I wonder how much it costs and more importantly, what is the expected return on that investment? I am really struggling to understand how this huge expenditure will bring even one more patient into the facility. Perhaps someone else who saw the ad could enlighten me.

This is interesting, gold is down to $1086 after some anonymous funds sold 57 tons overnight. The article goes on to state a “fair price of $750.

“Lots of people have been asking us to take it off,” Mr. Wellhoefer said. “Our response has been, ‘Thank you for your concern, have a great day and God bless you.’”

Good morning, everyone. I really don’t know how I would survive if some mutant plant virus killed off all the coffee trees.
Wonder how Western Civilization got its start, before tea and coffee were routinely available to Europe.

I have decided that it is time for me to find some place far from humanity and the interwebs, Way too many people huffing the chemtrails.
This may step in the sensibilities of some BUT, THE ARMING OF NATIONAL GUARDSMEN, IS EXACTLY WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS! False Flag Attacks for the purpose of arming a police state against you and me. WAKE UP! Hitler murdered Jews, Obama murders Christians.
Really? That shooting was a “false flag”? Abbot armed the guardsman is arming for the police state? This crap has gone beyond just a curiosity and funny.

There is a whole lot to digest in the article linked on #8.

That gold story is huge.
A couple years back I recall a story that when the Fed starts raising interest rates that banks lend money to themselves it could and probably would cause severe inflation possibly another depression.
Here is a recent Forbes article on Feds raising the interest rate.
It is one of those situations where the interest rates realistically needs to be raised to keep the banks solvent but has some really bad effects on an economy that sucks.

I’ve always been somewhat of a contrarian, so when the press is telling me Trump should bow out while he’s leading the polls, that means everyone else is scared to death. If gold is headed down to nothing (according to the press) that means it’s probably time to buy. I consider myself to be of at least average intelligence and spent many years in financial analysis, and yet I cannot for the life of me figure out how governments around the world can just continue to print money with no backing, in a poor economy, and no real short term prospects for recovery and not be in an inflationary environment (which if you check grocery prices you realize inflation does exist). That would all encourage movement to a “sound money” alternative, but the metals have not moved any way but down. So, the next logical conclusion is that government is also manipulating those prices, and there is quite a bit of evidence out there supporting this theory as well. Government policies are forcing savings into an overheated stock market as no other yield opportunities exist, and when the bubble pops this time, it’s likely to be huge.

That is a sound conclusion in my book. I think there is some huge manipulation here by China.
so when the press is telling me Trump should bow out while he’s leading the polls, that means everyone else is scared to death.
I am not sure that the pubbies “fear” Trump as they know that he is sucking all the MSM air time out of the room.

Is the FCC commish “outraged” because of the waste, fraud and abuse in the Obamaphone program or that it got aired on CBS?
HEADLINE: FCC Commissioner ‘Outraged’ At What CBS4 Investigation Revealed About Free Phone Program
Whodathunkit that a program designed to be abused got abused, I’m shocked, shocked I tell ya.

Remember how many of the 2012 candidates were leading in the polls early that year? We’re not even to that point in this cycle. Just ask presidents Cain, Gingrich, Perry, and Santorum.

#14, 16, 17: Depending on the trajectory, I am going to buy gold and silver (if silver drops like gold is expected to) when it gets close to the bottom with every dollar I can muster and not go into debt. When the currency crashes, gold will be like, well, gold.

May you live in interesting times. 🙂

Sounds funny but I find bullets to be a better investment. Bullets and food make for better bartering fodder. Now I am not being a contrarian here, but when/if gold becomes the coin of the realm who determines the value? Buying a loaf of bread with gold and you are due change how does that transaction occur?
-
#22: Point well taken. Bullets are an excellent investment for barter and for rehabilitation of thieves, murderers, rapists, etc. Depending on just how bad it gets, any means of producing a useful, durable good like an ax, knife, sword, bow and arrows, etc will be highly valuable. If it does get that bad, plan on a massive die off of the humans.

Never mind, my 9th grade Latin just kicked in.

OH GAWWWWDDDUUUUHHHH
Listening to Kasich make his bid for the residency of the United States. Basshole sounds like a (COUGH COUGH) “compassionate conservative”. Key line in his speech.
It is our duty to help people. We will be there to help you.

I’m getting in on the ground floor of recovering precious metals from what will become otherwise worthless electronics such as this phone I’m typing on.
-
Good move. I hear their is obscene profits in that.

Make some real coinage, not this zinc crap we have now.

#30 – Yer kidding right?
You think the precision balance and scale business has ever even THOUGHT about slowing down with all the drugs and maryjouwanna being purveyed in the last 5 decades?
no way Jose’ ! 🙂

I’ve always been somewhat of a contrarian, so when the press is telling me Trump should bow out while he’s leading the polls, that means everyone else is scared to death.
Actually, it means the poll was taken before his comments about John McCain.
-
If I can believe anything that I read, I believe that Trump’s McCain comments (the real ones, not the ones the press made up) actually improved his standing in the polls even more:
http://news.yahoo.com/mccain-takes-high-road-trump-attacks-war-record-155732021.html;_ylt=A86.Jyc.iq5VjTsAmPknnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByNWU4cGh1BGNvbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw–
Now it remains to be seen when the wave will finally crest and roll over, but the lead dog at this point seldom even finishes the race. -

But the survey was conducted from Thursday to Sunday, and the Post said most of the participants were interviewed before Trump lambasted McCain on Saturday.

This is an attempt at damage control by Trump.
He’s even issued a non-apology apology.
Anybody else, and folks would be saying he’s in panic mode.

I still do not think Trump should be prez.
I think it interesting though the criticism about his brashness is coming from the establishment like it is. For years on LST one of the things i noticed form conservatives is they wanted a candidate that spoke up and would not back down. Seems Trump fits that niche quite nicely. Trump is not backing down and I think that is a good thing. He is brash and unapologetic. How many times I have seen people go nuts when the likes of Boehnerco apologize for doing the right thing? How many times have we wished candidates and politicians would take a definitive political stand and then unapologetically stay consistent.
I hope he stays in for a long while. We are going to find out just exactly where the “top tier” candidates stand on the issues Trump brings up. Look at who is out there critiquing Trump. Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush, Rick Perry come to mind. They are distancing themselves as well as trying to take the lead as the voices of reason and whipping people into shape.

Problem is, Trump is a candidate that talks like the comments section of a WND story.

There is a lot of folks that be lovin on Trump. And it ain’t just the WND crowd. Kinda fascinating to watch. And the more the Hannity types are tryin to get Trump to tone down the louder Trump is gonna get. Personally I think if the polls are true that he is on the top I think it is novelty driven.
-
Trump is taking the fight right to the soft underbelly of the “R”s btw. The media will get bored with this round of squabbling and Trump will move on to his next issue.
-
Looks like the Donald has moved on from McCain to his ahole buddy, Hayseed Graham – on Graham’s on turf no less:
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/07/trumps-latest-stunt.php -
Just one ole Katfish’s dos centavos………………Trump is actually displaying a bit of a “parallel” value that I find with ‘El Rushbo’ …………………it’s NOT whether we agree or disagree with what he has to say – the VALUE is (IMHO) that he has a LOT of folks talking and reacting to LOTS of topics that NEED to be continually discussed and reacted to.
Now if we could only (as per Squawkster’s many comments) get people OFF of their collective A$$es and get them into ACTION!
burn those phone lines up!
fry those email servers!
STUFF those danged USPS mail boxes and do NOT relent! -
I don’t think its Trump per se. Its what Trump is doing, and that’s kind of scary.
Because with his track record, he ain’t gonna walk the walk he’s talkin’ and he never admits he’s wrong.
We’ve already had a Know Nothing Know It All Elitist Prince who got where he is by disguising what he’s really up to, no need for another.

BTW I noticed Hammie made dang sure I was not called upon to do the daily post.

I agree, there was no reason for that to have escalated to that point so quickly.

Chris Salcedo this am just posed the question to the effect: we need to have a teddy bear of some sort to be used as Kerry the Commie.
I think the skunk would fill that position nicely. -
Hackers broke into Jeep systems from ten miles away while sitting on sofa
Used a laptop and mobile phone to access the Jeep’ s on-board systems -
#72 – YEP bad JuJu! TickerDude chimes in on this
I warned about this quite some time ago.
and
I WAS DRIVING 70 mph on the edge of downtown St. Louis when the exploit began to take hold.
Though I hadn’t touched the dashboard, the vents in the Jeep Cherokee started blasting cold air at the maximum setting, chilling the sweat on my back through the in-seat climate control system. Next the radio switched to the local hip hop station and began blaring Skee-lo at full volume. I spun the control knob left and hit the power button, to no avail. Then the windshield wipers turned on, and wiper fluid blurred the glass. ….
Immediately my accelerator stopped working. As I frantically pressed the pedal and watched the RPMs climb, the Jeep lost half its speed, then slowed to a crawl. This occurred just as I reached a long overpass, with no shoulder to offer an escape. The experiment had ceased to be fun. That happened because the nice “remote access” features of the vehicle, including things such as “remote start” and so-called “telematics” are tied into the same CANBUS in the vehicle that controls life-critical functions such as the transmission, brakes and accelerator — plus, in many modern cars electric-assisted steering!
Wiring a computer into the OBD port and doing this while in the car is one thing — that requires physical access. This is from a remote location — literally anywhere. -
