Recently was made aware of this site, which has old maps of Houston. The following maps have been resized in order to be uploaded, so if you can’t see a detail you want, I recommend going to the original site, where the maps are hi-resolution and unreduced.
And here’s a 1942 map. A neighbor pointed out that Fauna, a street in my ‘hood, used be called “S Houston – Garden Villas Road” as it crossed Telephone Road. Nowadays, Fauna pretty much stops at Telephone Road, and Airport Boulevard is the main artery that crosses in front of Hobby Airport.
That idiot Lee Brown banned HPD officers from the shotgun squads.
I remember the good old days when PD put “shotgun squads” in the coolers at convenience stores. They thinned out the gene pool quite a bit before someone decided that it wasn’t fair for the cops to surprise and shoot thugs.
Instant karma’s gonna get you!
#49 I know you’re not in that camp. The thing is, there is no “House of Rothchild” in the banking world and probably hasn’t been since World War I.
Can’t be the Queen.
She’s the one dealing drugs with George Bush senior.
Try to keep up.
Interesting.
It’s drought again, I tell ya! I officially started watering my yard today.
Hamous I am not in the camp of which you suggest. It was a response to #11 and the family was suggested only as a possibility. The question in my mind at the time was: who has the resources and influence to pull off such a stunt? The universe of possibilities is not that big. TexPats #39 answer later about… Read more »
So she looked like a horse?
Didn’t she also play The Skipper on Gilligans Island?
Bonecrusher – surely you are aware that in every “new world order/evil Jewish banker” rant directed towards the Jews, there’s a Rothchild conspiracy that has been used as evidence as to why they should be exterminated. If you’d like to be in the company of the likes of Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, and Lyndon Larouche have at it.
#45 FA: 11: Perhaps some holders of Greek debt like mebbe the Rothschild family? I tried to make it clear that I did not know who was behind it, the Rothschilds were just a guess, a suggestion. Seriously? The Rothchilds? Are you sure it wasn’t the Illuminati? or the Trilateralists? mebbe the Queen of England and her family? Sheesh. .… Read more »

Elderly Couple Texting – Very Romantic? An elderly couple, who had just learned how to send text messages on their mobile phones. Saw her over the weekend as Randolph Scott’s love interest in a cavalry movie.
Hubba hubba.
Make sure you take your shoes and socks off when you are sick so you don’t hafta throw-et them up too.
I’m assuming that means cancer of the arm? Because I can’t throw-et things?
Bonecrusher You can discard your Rothschild Zionist banker conspiracy. Here is the Greek woman working for Goldman Sachs (of course) who maneuvered the Greek financing deal and made hundreds of millions for herself and her employer. What it most liked about her seems to be the way she could magic away the country’s dismal financial position. The trade she came… Read more »
What about throwet cancer?
Cancer – I take tumeric extract every day. I listened to this TED talk and it convinced me to start taking it.
Perry Mason was played by a wimmin?
Holy cow, she really needed to fix herself up.
That’s pretty interesting. The movie also starred Barbara Hale (Perry Mason the show).
Every amazing thing you never knew about the song, Unchained Melody. Two Jewish Tin Pan Alley songwriters wrote it for a low-budget 1955 prison movie. No kidding. The song—first released 60 years ago, in 1955—has a history that, like its eponymous tune, ebbs and flows at unpredictable intervals. The song that has served as a backdrop for dances and weddings… Read more »
#32: The one I want to see is the way to “unmask” the malignent cells so that the bodies natural defenses can wipe them out. We all make cancer cells every day, usually they self destruct and if that fails then the next line of defence comes in from the body and other antibodies wipe them out. When the tumors… Read more »

#23 TP: I saw a headline on Drudge on Friday about billionaires buying up vast tracts of farm land. That story is set in Australia, however, with a few tweeks and twerks of the tax code, the same thing could happen here. If the elites can force everybody into high density housing AND control the means of food production, they… Read more »

What are the odds that the warden and the next several layers are now suddenly flush with cash? The whole episode simply illustrates Trump’s position.
Maybe we should all go get size XXL women’s underwear and send it to these idiots.
You know, so they can put on their big girl panties and get on with life.
Really you have to read the whole story. This just got more insane as the story went along. Even the mayor got involved.

There’s a daytime commercial I’ve caught a couple of times that drives me crazy. One of those ambulance chasers. They talk about throat cancer but they pronounce it throw-et. Where in the heck is it pronounced that way?
Just heard a commercial on the radio that drives me nuts. A roofing company complaining about their competitors, saying that the competitors “focus on efficiency and not responsibility,” and describe how they found “28 nails and not one was on the nail line”. That’s not efficiency, that’s speed. If the roofers were being efficient, the shingles would have been nailed… Read more »

Just goes to show that bait and switch is not solely an American phenomenon.
#8 CouchMaster: I am reminded of welfare reform, which Slick Willietwice vetoed and shut the gubmint down and then went on to sign and claim credit for “ending welfare as we know it.” This deal with Greece will be just like our deals with Mexico, both will happily repay any and all loans – so long as we give them… Read more »
