Talking about Trump is a waste of oxygen.
I could not disagree with you more. Whether I personally like Trump or not is immaterial. Whether he becomes President or even Grand Poobah of the local Water Buffalo Lodge is immaterial. The issue is absolutely worth discussing.
-
Hey, y’all finally made it.
Mornin’ Gang -
#1 Dooood, I agree, this was squawksters position yesterday.
-
Outside of war they were painters, architects, actors and set designers, encouraged to use their creative minds and talent to help defeat the German army in France once and for all.
Yankee ingenuity at its peak,
The contingent’s actors were turned loose in French towns posing as divisional generals where enemy agents were likely to see them and overhear them “talking loose” in the local café over bottles of wine.
American creativity unleashed for war and peace or why America can always win if it sets it mind to it,
In their down time, they continued painting, sketching and documenting the war through art. Fashion designer Bill Blass and painter Ellsworth Kelly were among the artists turned soldiers who served in this secret mission, and their unit became an incubator for young artists who went on to have a major impact on art in post-war America.

#1 – Ya beat me tewit! As I do have a slightly more intense point of view vis-a-vis child abuse……………….
With SC being a relatively SMALL state and fairly distant from the border – can we imagine the horrific stats here in TEXAS?
I’ve no linky but I do recall hearing that for 2012 there were over 12,000 child abuse reports in Texas (how many can be honestly tied to the open border flood I can only guess)
AND – how many were NOT reported? -
The conditions are rising in Monterrey.
-
It upsets me the weather is nicer in Monterrey.
-
The Republicans hate that Trump is so blunt.
YEAH THEY JUST MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE A STAND.
Is that bad?
Google is your friend.…… illegal immigration has been a hot button issue for Trump for quite a few years.

Talking about Trump is a waste of oxygen.I could not disagree with you more. Whether I personally like Trump or not is immaterial. Whether he becomes President or even Grand Poobah of the local Water Buffalo Lodge is immaterial. The issue is absolutely worth discussing.
The issue is definetly worth discussing.
Trump made it difficult to discuss with the way he framed it. Which is why he’s at the very least an idiot, not the guy who should be leading the charge on it, and at worst, did it on purpose.
That’s where Ted Cruz went. He did not defend Trump’s statement, he defended Trump’s bringing the issue forward, and he’s using the same tactic that Reagan used:
Cruz said, “I am proud to defend Donald Trump. I like Donald Trump. I respect Donald Trump. And he is highlighting an issue that Washington politicians don’t want to talk about, which is illegal immigration. … And the sad reality is, the Washington cartel supports amnesty, the Washington cartel doesn’t want to stop illegal immigration, so they’re mad at Donald Trump for focusing on this critical issue, and I’m not going to play that game. The mainstream media loves to get a whole bunch of Republicans — we’ve seen one after another after another of the presidential candidates stand up and smack Donald Trump. I think it’s wrong, I’m not going to do it.” He further accused the “Washington cartel” of supporting the Gang of Eight immigration bill and praised Trump for “shining a light” on the issue of illegal immigration.
In case you missed it, that’s Reagan’s “11th Commandment”
I’ll point out something else Cruz said:
Later he stated, “we should use legal immigration because you can check and make sure that people coming are not murderers, are not rapists, are not criminals. When you have an unsecured border, we don’t know who’s coming across.” And invited those who think support the status quo of illegal immigration on compassion grounds to “come down to the border and take a look at the photographs of the bodies of women and children brutalized and left to die in the desert by coyotes, by transnational, vicious criminal cartels that are smuggling these people in. That is not humane. It is not compassionate.”
-
The issue of illegal immigration hasn’t been being discussed before Trump brought it up??? What planet have y’all been living on?
-
Good morning again Hamsters. Much more pleasant this morning, 77 and “only” 83% humidity. Woo-hoo. But it does make a difference.
We had a surprise and most welcome popup T-storm drop 0.2″ yesterday afternoon and move off. Actually there was only one lightning bolt and one thunderclap, and the rest was gusty wind and downpour, but that qualifies I guess.
-
To Whom It May Concern…
Stop conflating immigration policies and border security (tangential but very different issues) with Donald Trump.
Donald Trump is about nothing more than Donald Trump. He wants his name embedded with those subjects.
I refuse to be forced into discussing the relative importance or irrelevance of Donald Trump every effing time I discuss immigration and border control.
-
Which is why he’s at the very least an idiot,
What ever one may make of his political acumen, I have a real hard time taking anyone seriously who calls a man who made himself a BILLIONAIRE 9 times over in real estate, an idiot.
-
The issue of illegal immigration hasn’t been being discussed before Trump brought it up??? What planet have y’all been living on?
Of course it has been discussed before Trump. But since it is still very obviously a problem that plagues this country, is continuing the discussion a bad idea? Should we just forget about it because we don’t like Trump?
-
Trump made it difficult to discuss with the way he framed it.
What? Oh sure now we gotta “frame” stuff in an acceptable form?
Which is why he’s at the very least an idiot, not the guy who should be leading the charge on it,
Well there ya go. Kill the messenger. Discount his point instead of saying, “Hey the guy might be right.”
and at worst, did it on purpose.
Well yeah, he addressed the illegal immigration issue. He threw his hat in the ring. Lets strain the gnat form our tea while swallowing a camel.
-
What ever one may make of his political acumen, I have a real hard time taking anyone seriously who calls a man who made himself a BILLIONAIRE 9 times over in real estate, an idiot.
DING DING DING DING
We have a winner
-
We’re not talking about immigration. We’re talking about Trump talking about immigration.
-
Fair enough, let’s remove Trump from the illegal immigration discussion completely. Couldn’t agree more. So that said, there has been no meaningful, specific plan put forth by ANYONE who aspires to office to address how we’re going to get this under control. I include Cruz in that assessment. When someone comes forth with specific and detailed plans about what they are going to do to get our border under control I will consider voting for them. But not until then.
-
He’s rich ergo he’s smart. That’s what we’re going with now? Okalie dokalie!
-
In case you missed it, that’s Reagan’s “11th Commandment”
If Reagan was alive today, knowing what I know now, I would not vote for him. There. I said it.
-
Getting Saudi Arabia and China to build the Great Wall of America is not what I would consider a meaningful plan.

Other smart people of note: the Kennedys, Kardashians, Paris Hilton, Michael Jackson.
-
Getting Saudi Arabia and China to build the Great Wall of America is not what I would consider a meaningful plan.
Nor do I.

When Trump elicits more discussion than Yanet there’s something wrong with the Y chromosome segment of the couch. And not a single comment on the Putin nesting doll photo 🙁
-
My biggest issues re: illegal immigration:
1. They do the jobs Americans won’t do at the wage they’re willing to receive. These people come from a very third-world background and their presence drives up labor supply, depressing wages for the poor Americans.
2. They are not integrated into the economy and do not contribute their fair share into the tax base. They then receive excess benefits from those who do contribute to the overall tax base.
3. Aside from the “well-meaning” illegals who are only trying to find work, there are many criminals whose presence is masked by the sheer numbers of the work-seekers. These criminals find refuge among the underclass of illegals.
4. There are many, many non-Latino people among the flood crossing our southern border. Many of these people are work-seekers as well, but in their numbers are additional criminals, plus likely terrorists and foreign agents, bent on doing us harm.
5. There is untold human carnage all along the border of the unfortunates who are robbed, killed, sold into slavery, raped, abandoned, and left to die. This is probably the worst tragedy related to illegal border crossing.
-
Hamous, with all due respect, this is the guts of my statement:
a man who made himself a BILLIONAIRE 9 times over in real estate
Not by being a bootlegger, corrupt politician, fluzy daughter of a billionaire family, an incredibly talented and yet incredibly flakey musician or some other meaningless media sensation but by being a real estate developer. I have never heard of any successful real estate developer being an idiot.
-
And not a single comment on the Putin nesting doll photo
You gotta know what it is to make a comment on it.
🙂

At first glance I thought it was some weird Johnny Winter memento of yours. -
Putin nesting doll. Huh. I was wondering if it was The Floating Hamous Head in a jar. Guess I need to clean my glasses. 🙂
On the Monterrey women… ummm yeah. We have a plant down there. No desire to move there but there sure is some nice sightseeing to be done!

I can assure you from experienced, personal observation the city of Monterrey is full of beautiful women.

The flags of the Confederacy, all of them, are more than pieces of cloth in my book. They are a part of my history. I have no control over the few racist idiots (on both sides) that have hijacked it. Their actions have no bearing on what it means to me.Sez the man who routinely calls Harvard and Yale Graduates a whole lot of names.
Trump is a brilliant self promoter, investor, and real estate tycoon.
Neither of which prevents him from being an idiot on most other subjects.

We’re not talking about immigration. We’re talking about Trump talking about immigration.
Good point, since Trump has done a miserable job of of talking about the subject. That “speech” of his posted here yesterday was disorganized and incoherent.
Of course, I salute him for not backing down, apologizing, or cringeing in any way. And I also like Cruz’s comments about Trump!

One of my godsons just got back from a school trip to Russia. He bought the nesting dolls. Each one has an image of Putie in one of his manly poses. He said his likeness is plastered everywhere. He also noted that most young Russians think he’s a buffoon.

There’s also a pistol packing armadillo in the background of the photo. Now that’s art!
-
Lost in Trump’s immigration comments are his comments about politicians.
They’re stupid, incompetent losers and they’ll never fix anything.
Can’t argue with him there.
We’ve had the same stupid, incompetent, corrupt losers in office for years and look at the mess we’re in.
-
Trump is a brilliant self-promoter. He appears to be a really sharp real estate speculator. His business acumen often seems to be hit or miss. His political instincts are questionable at best. And his goals (I suspect) are always self serving in the end.
Was his statement about immigration ill phrased? Certainly. Would I prefer to have someone else leading the discussion? Absolutely. But the incontrovertible fact is that he seems to be the only person so far who’s actually had the stones to force a nationwide popular discussion. Check his poll numbers. His statements are resonating with people in a way that seems to have escaped all of the other “candidates”.
We may not like Trump, or how he said what he said, but if he can prompt some of the more serious candidates to actually step up and address the issue head on, he will have done us a favor.

This is called, of course, “eminent domain.” The Constitution’s Fifth Amendment allows the government to take private property for “public use,” so long as “just compensation” is paid. In the infamous 2005 Kelo decision, the Supreme Court held that “public use” could include, well, private use, so long as the new property owner paid more in taxes than the previous one. In other words, it allowed developers and the government to gang up on homeowners. The developer gets more land, the government gets more tax money. The only losers are the original owner and his property rights.
Just one of many times that the SCOTUS has stepped on the little guy. It turned out to be a damning harbinger of things to come.

Trump is not my first pick for R candidate. That being said, it is not much of a choice when on the D side you have the likes of JugEars and Hitlery who detest a genuine representative republic, think the USA should be punished, think that Capitalism is bad and Socialism is good, believe the lie of MMGW, etc. and on the R side you have a very sharp businessman (Trump and his pet hair) who has made billions (granted sometimes via some pretty crappy dealings) and who himself will prosper greatly when the country prospers and therefore has a vested self interest in our economy blossoming, one who really does know how to hold the line on negotiations and is willing to walk away if necessary. I would much rather have our country led by someone who wants to make our country powerful than someone who wants to destroy it.
The Ds want to destroy the country so that they can try to re-make it into a socialist utopia; we all know this is doomed to flaming failure. Trump (and perhaps some other named R candidates) wants us to dominate economically on the global scale so that he can make an even bigger pile of money. Not really much of a choice IMHO. -

Rush is on fire right now over how in a mere 24 hours the pressies and pansies have basically stopped ragging on Trump and started to talk about sanctuary cities in light of the murder in San Fran by the much kicked out and let back in illegal alien who shot her. In public. No alleged although the dingbat media keep saying alleged.
Rush’s point is that Trump did not back down like the ravening Democrat liberals expected and the sheep of compliant companies who dropped him also did. And now illegal immigration and sanctuary cities are wildfire topics sweeping an angry nation so much that a bunch of Dems are now saying they’re against them. And those who are trying to defend them are stumbling and stammering around as it becomes clear how angry the general public is. The genie is out of the bottle, thanks to someone with the cojones to pull the cork and liberate the long angry but looking for a leader millions to burst forth. Whatever Trumps failings, he has done us a great favor by pulling that cork.
Now it’s gonna be fun to see which GOP candidates join the fray with the groundswell and do a 180 from what they said only a few days ago when they were too afraid to touch illegal immigration or sanctuary cities except in private or peripherally in friendly crowds. Ted said it correctly when asked for his opinion of Trump’s comments, as I believe would have Ronaldus Magnus.

Rush discussed that one should be naturally suspicious when the stock market, the Wall Street Journal, and United Airlines all have computer problems the same day. United’s flights worldwide have been delayed because of it. What fun.
He added that the ChiCom stock market is in deep trouble today, falling free, oversold, banks shaky, and likely about to realize the insanity of a failed economics philosophy to which they apparently have be in thrall for a long time. The same one pushed by Obama and his allies, by the way.

Rush is now shredding that Vox piece posted on Hambone on the weekend, the one that says the colonies should have not declared independence. He says it is a serious piece, not a sendoff.
Vox apparently is the successor to Journolist, the coven of lefty WaPo writers/hangers on that spewed such drivel until it became public that the blog was nothing but a lefty propaganda machine. The writer is a recent grad of public education, obviously a brainwashed one representative of the garbage taught by lefty professors secure in their tenure. Great argument for abolishing tenure, IMHO.
Rush agrees with me that the author of that piece looks just like one would expect someone to look like who believes such garbage.

Speaking of variation, I saw something unusual at Maggiano’s last month. The lunch crowd there is very presentable business men and women. There were 2 attractive women lunching together. One was regular Caucasian and the other was Asian with pale blonde hair in a short bob cut. Could not tell if it was wig or bleach. It’s pretty common to see hispanics with bleached hair, and even some black women, but of the many Asian females I have ever worked with or just seen, this blonde hairdo was a first.

She has a face? Whazzit look like?
Absolutely beautiful.

Strangely the tape of Nixon ordering the chairman of the joint chiefs to “get off your ass” and get the planes airborne is not played or written about as the Watergate tapes are. “Use every [plane] we have—everything that will fly,” Nixon can be heard barking in exasperation.
Nixon’s airlift turned the tide for Israel. Under “Operation Nickel Grass” 567 missions were flown, delivering more than 22,000 tons of supplies, and an additional 90,000 tons were delivered to Israel by sea—all told $121 million in weapons and bullets.

This was an investigation originating with the Securities & Exchange Commission. The local DA in Dallas has been looking into this for quite a while, but it’s a mess because Paxton is connected or known to so many of the legal players. They have appointed special prosecutors from Houston, I believe. Kent Schaffer and somebody else.
Paxton has already plead to unethical solicitation for investments and paid a fine. Other than that, I don’t know much more.

Adobe Systems has updated its Flash media player to patch a vulnerability that attackers started exploiting soon after attack code leaked from the devastating Hacking Team breach.
Windows and Android phones may be affected by other leaked exploits.
As Ars reported Tuesday morning, the previously unknown Flash vulnerability was part of some 400 gigabytes of data dumped on the Internet by unknown attackers who hacked Hacking Team over the weekend. By Tuesday afternoon, the critical flaw was being targeted in the wild by an array of malware titles, including the Angler and Nuclear exploit kits, as first reported by Malwarebytes (and later documented by the security researcher known as Kafeine). The exploit has also been folded in to the Metasploit hacking framework. -
Looking forward to God’s Not Dead II.

From FB:
Do you suffer from this? I do. If you are a sufferer of this debilitating disease PLEASE SHARE this with other fellow suffers. There IS a cure but it is not available till 2016…
January, 2015 – Doctors at the CDC released a statement disclosing a
new disease that has already infected over half of the United States
and is anticipated to continue to spread. The disease itself affects
the cells of a person’s entire body, then goes dormant. The disease
ravages the body and leaves serious side effects. These side effects
have been labeled as PIST-AWF, short for Post Islamic Stress Trauma
with Apologetic Whitehouse Fatigue.
For those of you who do not know what that is, PIST-AWF is a newly
defined disease that is found to be widespread and highly contagious.
Symptoms include:
– Severe pain of the scalp from pulling your own hair while viewing
your president pander to Muslim terrorists.
– Uncontrollable heartburn at 8:00 PM during the O’Reilly factor.
– Loose bowels from swallowing the fact we elected Obama twice.
– Extreme hunger due to vomiting from nightly seeing terrorists
murdering innocent people.
– Bleeding from the eyes. This is not Ebola. It is your eyes reacting
to accidentally flipping to a channel that shows Al Sharpton as a
legitimate news-show host.
– Since the disease consumes the entire body, every infected person is
then identified as the disease itself.
If you feel you have Post Islamic Stress Trauma with Apologetic
Whitehouse Fatigue, please notify your local election board and place
your name on the list for a cure. It is expected, and sincerely hoped,
that the cure will be available in November 2016. -

Judge Andrew S. Hanen, U.S. Southern District of Texas
The Court was first apprised by the Government of the violations of its injunction on May 7, 2015. It admitted that it violated this Court’s injunction on at least 2,000 occasions—violations which have not yet been fixed. This Court has expressed its willingness to believe that these actions were accidental and not done purposefully to violate this Court’s order. Nevertheless, it is shocked and surprised at the cavalier attitude the Government has taken with regard to its “efforts” to rectify this situation. The Government promised this Court on May 7, 2015, that “immediate steps” were being taken to remedy the violations of the injunction. Yet, as of June 23, 2015—some six weeks after making that representation—the situation had not been rectified. With that in mind, the Court hereby sets a hearing for August 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Each individual Defendant must attend and be prepared to show why he or she should not be held in contempt of Court.

1. Throw your Windows and Android devices into the trash.
2. Buy Mac products.

4. DO NOT ever run as root or super user on your devices.
5. Only run as root or super user when you need to update your machine.

TALLAHASSEE — Rep. Alan Grayson has been targeted by a second ethics complaint in as many days over his involvement in three hedge funds that use his name and include undisclosed investors, this time by a supporter of a Democratic rival.
A 16-page complaint filed Tuesday with the Office of Congressional Ethics alleges, among other things, that the Orlando Democrat violated a handful of ethics rules by failing to disclose potential income from the funds, and by using his name to boost their earning power.
Sooo…what do you do now ? Run for the U.S. Senate ? Of course !
Rep. Alan Grayson, a liberal firebrand whose outspokenness irks members of his own party, will announce a bid for Florida’s open Senate seat Thursday morning on a Florida TV station, according to a source with knowledge of Grayson’s plans.
Grayson’s entry into the race could turn into a messy primary with fellow Florida Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy, national Democrats’ pick for this competitive seat, vacant this cycle thanks to GOP Sen. Marco Rubio’s presidential bid.
Some Democrats fear Grayson could be problematic for the party as it seeks to net the five seats necessary to wrest Senate control from Republicans. President Barack Obama carried Florida twice, making it a prime pickup opportunity, especially in an open-seat race.
Grayson is known for making incendiary comments. He compared the tea party to the white supremacist KKK, and is currently entwined in an ugly and public divorce battle.
