Is Hardee’s and Carl’s the same thing?
Nope, not at all, Hardees’ bought out Carls. There is one right down the street from me, I went there once and the burgers are good but expen$ive and I didn’t think they were worth the price.
-
I’ve not seen a Hardee’s. Not a big fan of Carl’s but I do like their commercials though!
-
TGIF.
Did y’all know that 2 guys escaped from prison up in yankeeville?

Good morning Hamsters. No leaves stirring yet and 73 at 6:30 makes for a pleasant early morning. Looked at the Brazos yesterday going over it on the 90A bridge, and though it is down a good ways below flood stage it’s still fierce looking and moving fast. Trees along the banks show the high water mark in brownish silt on their leaves pretty high up in the canopies. It’s still in flood stage at Rosharon. This is an adventure nobody around here wants to repeat any time soon.
Regarding those escaped thugs in NY we can’t seem to lose in the news down here, umm guessing there’s a good chance they’ve been in Canada a few days, no? Surely the Canadian border is as porous out in the boonies as the Mexican border is in cities. 🙁

The barker/Addicks reservoir north of I-10 is receding but it does not seem like they ate in any hurry to drain it. Patterson road is still impassable but it appears that the Masters course at Bear Creek is now open.
Earlier this week I saw some dude fishing from the east side of hwy 6 in an area that was almost dry in March. -
Sam Alone on 1070 this am referred to JugEars as Erkle ,

The Drudge report has some interesting headlines today, I’m sure we will explore some of them.

NAACP chapter prez is white, say her parents.

Morning y’all. I can’t tell what the beagle is doing that is going to save the day.

Hambone is back to life at last. It was AWOL for a while. Maybe doing some campaigning against the trade treaty fiasco in DC.
-
Just heard on Laura’s program that several Wisconsin conservatives have come out and said what’s been simmering for apparently some time–Paul Ryan needs an opponent for his seat in Congress. IMHO Paul has gone to the dark side. Too long marinated in DC.

It’s a basset hound. -
Who the heck stepped on the power cord?

I’m bettin on shannon

That Twin Peaks shoot-out in Waco continues to stink as the officials refuse to release any information. A great big lawsuit against the City may be the only way any of the details of this event will come to light. It’s still appearing that the police wounded and killed more (if not all) of the people affected. Sunshine is the best disinfectant, so shine the light on this sordid tale and lets move on.

Whassup with the Couch this a.m., boss? I’ve checked several times and found it offline. NSA on to us?

I don’t know what the problem is here. She’s just following the example set by Elizabeth Warren as a Liberal white woman pretending to be a minority to get a high paying job—-
-
OK who tripped over the power cord?
-
I’m not pointing fingers, but I’ll bet it was Squawk.

I also like the billboard at the bottom of the aforementioned article:
Show your mind, not your behind.

Great billboards.

I heard someone say on the radio that the white NAACP woman had attempted to make herself look black. I did not know what that meant until I saw the pic in your link. She has frizzled her hair!Oh and a great comment:

It’s another sad day for America when the Dems vote to do the right thing in Congress, even if it’s for the wrong reason.

I collected a long overdue check today. We’ve done work for these church friends of ours, who have a plumbing company but who do a different type of plumbing work. Hubby thought the homeowners would be paying the bill, so he didn’t ask for cash up front. These friends have a history of extremely slow paying on their bills. They could previously blame their one big customer for this – though we didn’t agree to wait on their payment to get our payment.
So here we are, waiting on their payment since the work was done in January. There was in invoicing problem, so they didn’t get invoiced until after the confusion was cleared up (a customer/addressing issue). I wasn’t aware of the invoicing delay, and after looking at the schedule, called said plumbing friends and said I was going to send an intent to file a mechanic’s lien out this afternoon.
They had said they mailed us a check twice before. I left a note with them last week that I’d swing by and pick up the check. Crickets. After the phone call today, I got a call back within five minutes: “Can you pick up the check this afternoon?” I said yes, but I’d be mailing the letter anyway, since my deadline was today and I couldn’t count on them getting it to me, based on their track record.
Five minutes later: “XXXX says you can pick up the check today. He’s with (insert bookkeeper name here) right now.” “Fine, but I’m still sending out the letter to protect our interests.”
Five minutes later: “Can I drop the check by your place? XXXX is bringing it now. It will be here between 12 and 12:30.” “Why don’t I come by and pick it up from you? ”
I was there five minutes later, and XXXX was just pulling in. He waved, but he didn’t smile. I did. I got my check, and I left.
Now, let’s just hope that sucker clears. Hubby says we’re not doing work for them again, but he said that the last time, too. I think because we’re friends, they think we’ll keep being six month’s worth of patient.

Michelle Malkin weighs in on the Obamatrade fiasco.
HEADLINE: Why America Hates the GOP-Obamatrade Deal
/snip
The secretive wheeling and dealing on the massive 29-chapter draft (kept under classified lock-and-key and only a tiny portion of which have been publicly disclosed through WikiLeaks) make the backroom Obamacare negotiations look like a gigantic solar flare of openness and public deliberation. Fast-track Republicans, who rightfully made a stink when Nancy Pelosi declared that “we have to pass the [Obamacare] bill so that you can find out what is in it,” now have no transparency legs to stand on.What possible reason can be given for we the people to trust this admin?
-
Currently, I don’t trust ANYONE in DC except Senator Jeff Sessions.

#31 – MsTT – Yall are plumbers not BANKERS!
(we see similar issues in the freight biz trust me!)

#31: Have you driven it over to his bank and demanded cash for it yet?

As my pappy always says, no celebrating until the check clears the bank. -

She has frizzled her hair!Oh, darlin—she didn’t just try to make herself LOOK black. Scroll down to the video in this post and forward to the 7:55 mark and watch the fun.
Oh and a great comment:

I remember the two consecutive years we had a cricket invasion of every building on campus. It was dang near impossible to get to class without squishing them, they were so thick on the floors.
Fortunately, it only lasted a week or two each time, but people like me were walking like vertical epileptics, trying not create a gag situation.

#39: You certainly don’t want to slip and fall in that rot. They are Kosher, you could eat them :o)

Guess that awkward sentence means the plumbing was connected and working.

Fast track passes, the bad one is crushed.
The House derailed a high-profile White House-backed trade bill on Friday, a humiliating defeat for President Barack Obama inflicted by Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and dozens of union-backed lawmakers from his own party.
The 302-126 vote left the legislation in perilous limbo, and came a few hours after Obama journeyed to the Capitol to deliver a last-minute personal plea to fellow Democrats to give him power to negotiate global trade deals that Congress could approve or reject but not change.

Going to Lufkin next week. A customer is setting up a rather large 3D printer. The base has sand and epoxy mix A. The printer head spreads epoxy mix B and builds up the mould. Large frame motor housings are one of the things they will be casting. Should be interesting. If Lufkin is dry I will look like the OC basset heading for the country line.

LOL goatman, I don’t think it’s too far out of town in any direction.
-
The little old Baptist ladies may give you a floggin’ when you get there though.
-
I desperately need an out of town job, I miss them.
-
I did get to go on a service call this morning, all the way to 45 and 1960. And I still got the magic, BTW.

Ok y’all kilt the blog, I tried mouth to mouth and everything, let your hearts be heavy now.

Anyone know of any comedy clubs around anymore? I’m getting very frustrated searching on the web. I’m guessing Laff Spot in Willowbrook is closed, has been closed? Yet all searches lead to it.
-
I don’t even care if they’re funny, we used to go to comedy clubs, the wife wants to go to one, so we are going to one tomorrow night. Hmmm, Shannon can be funny right? Bellville is just down the road ….
-
I will ride to the rescue, GJT. Probably everybody is checking the home front to see what might need to be battened down in advance of the next—gasp—week of rain predicted on this evening’s news. Let’s pray that whatever is responsible for the extended stay doesn’t materialize.

The comedy clubs are dying becauseFifty percent of the electorate has had a complete humorectomy.
Soon it will feel like living in Cold War Eastern Europe. -
Plus the comics anymore think the only way to be funny is lude jokes. Back in the day by George ….

Good morning Hamsters. Mostly cloudy here and 75 with a nice southerly breeze at 6 that has suddenly vanished. Radar shows the Golden Triangle being pounded with a huge nasty arc out in the Gulf extending inland and moving north. Eastern side of Houston is getting a smaller cluster moving inland. We’re on the faint western edge so far. Looks like the weather wizards are right, unfortunately.
Astros won yesterday. Hope that stops the skid.

Weekend OC is up.
