I used the term “Mackerel Snapper” one time and some lady who didn’t really know me (and who was not even Catholic) was outraged. “Don’t you know how offensive that is to Catholics???” I just smiled and said “I’m Catholic.” Flustered her so much she didn’t know what to say and stormed off.
