Good morning Hamsters. Humidity is up with 65 at 6. Pastures need the rain that’s on the way.
The day of retribution is at hand. Wonder how long it will take the average Democrats to realize Battleground Texas and all its works has hurt their party much more than the Republicans.

Year of the woman.
WASHINGTON – An upstate New York Republican is slated Tuesday to shatter the congressional record of former Brooklyn Democratic Rep. Elizabeth Holtzman as the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
Elise Stefanik, 30, is favored to win in New York’s upstate 21st District and break history as the youngest female to win a seat in the House. Holtzman was sworn in at age 31 in 1973 at a time when women weren’t even allowed in the congressional gym.
And
In Utah, Mia Love is strongly favored to become the first African American Republican woman elected to Congress.
And
In New Jersey, Democrat Bonnie Watson Coleman is on her way to becoming the first African American woman to represent the Garden State in Congress.
And
The biggest prize could go to Iowa Republican Joni Ernst who has momentum in the critical race that could determine control of the Senate. She’d become the first woman ever elected to Congress in Iowa and the first female combat veteran in the Senate, having served in Kuwait as a company commander in 2003-2004.
Didn’t know Earnst was a combat veteran.

Super Dave #3;
From your link:
According to a Justice Department watchdog group, it appears that the “Operation Fast and Furious” fiasco might have a part 2. The group says that Federal agents and prosecutors made a ridiculous amount of errors while investigating a U.S. citizen who was smuggling military surplus grenade components into Mexico for conversion into real grenades that cartel’s could use. (H/T FoxNews)
The highly critical report stated that the ATF “did not adequately consider the risk to public safety in the United States and Mexico created by the subjects’ illegal activities.”
They’re just grenades. What harm could they do?
/oh dear

#6 😀 Joni Ernst and Mia Love are two of several candidates that I’ve been supporting.

IRS Cheech and Chongs magic herb shops.
Voters in Oregon, Alaska, and Washington, D.C., will decide Tuesday whether to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana. But any new pot shops that voters approve may not be able to survive a drug war-era tax code that already threatens many businesses in Colorado and Washington state.
Under this tax code the federal government stands to make more money from the sale of marijuana than those legally selling it. And that could be enough to shut down many shops.
“It’s almost like they want us to fail,” said Mitch Woolhiser, while walking through his store called Northern Lights Cannabis Co. in Edgewater, Colo. “Everything I do is aimed at keeping us in business because if I don’t, then (the feds) win. And I’m not going to let them win.”
High tax = like government wants shop to go out of business. Hmmmmmmmm
-
That’s why they call you super, Dave. 🙂
-
#10 I’ve not heard that since I left the airport, the guys at the shop gave me that name back when Super Dave Osborne was on the air. 😉
-
Just a reminder to those who think tonight’s news is an endorsement of Republicans and not a rejection of Democrats. The only reason most of these Republicans will win is because they are not Democrats.
In 2012 a lot of people thought that not being Barack Obama would guarantee victory. It didn’t.
In 2016, not being a Democrat probably won’t be enough.

**prayer request** – Please lift some UP for a second generation BACA supporter in Louisiana –
Brothers and sisters, passing some info along about a second generation BACA supporter ‘Knucklehead’ went down Sat nite , the son of our state founder Bubba is at LSU New Orleans recovering, please send your prayers
I know this FINE young MAN personally and we could not ask for a more dedicated supporter………….
He is alive and responsive and his spirits are very high. He is joking with visitors as they come to see him.
The Injury Update:
As a result of the accident, he has some scrapes and scratches on his hands, and on his legs, between his feet and knees. His helmet did help protect his head, so he has no damage to his face and head. The bad news is that he does have some internal injuries, including the following: both lungs are partially collapsed, 2 vertebrae are broken, and other internal tissue is damaged. He has had surgery. The really tough news is that he still cannot feel below his waist.
Once again, his spirits are high, so let’s help him keep them there. Bubba is very appreciative of the prayers and wishes.

Katfish – praying for a quick and complete recovery for your fellow hero. (Yeah, you guys are heroes, too!)
I got Hubby all checked into the hospital last night. Turns out, when he told me “tomorrow” it really meant “RIGHT NOW”. He’s at Methodist, and they were hanging the IV antibiotic on him in the ER, before he got put in his room. The number they gave for his room is incorrect, so I haven’t talked to him yet. We don’t know exactly what level surgery they’re going to try. I’m hoping to hear on that soon.
The doc drew his infection line on his leg, and it was above the knee. That really bothered me, seeing exactly how far the infection has crawled up his leg. Hubby, being his stubborn self, said he didn’t understand why he couldn’t go to work with a stent in (they may send him home with a stent so we can administer the IV at home). I tried to explain why being in the dirt with an opening to his bloodstream might be problematic. Perhaps the docs can ‘splain it a little better. I might bring a 2×4 to help with the transmission of the information.
I didn’t get to bed until after 1 a.m., trying to lay out things to be done today and sending a few emails to customers. I thought I’d sleep late this morning, but, no, I was wrong. I’m going to try to fit in a workout this morning to bleed some stress, while I have office help manning the phones. Unless I get to talk to Hubby and he needs me this morning. I’m just praying for the patience to deal with MIL and Houseguest during all of this.
-
KatFish prayers on the way.

Once a racist always a racist; Holder sends poll watchers to 18 states.
The Department of Justice plans to send federal monitors to 18 states to watch for discrimination against voters.
Monitors will head to Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
“One of the Justice Department’s most sacred responsibilities is ensuring access to the ballot box for every eligible American,” Attorney General Eric Holder said in a video message on the department’s website.
“I want the American people to know that the Justice Department will stand vigilant — working in a fair and nonpartisan manner to ensure that every voter can cast his or her ballot free of intimidation, discrimination or obstruction,” he said.Yanno’ I don’t remember him being upset at all when the Black Panthers intimidated the old ladies in Philadelphia. SPITS~

Tedtam, DANG, I hope they get it taken care of that sounds serious, prayers on the way.
-
TedTam geez more kneemail is UP!
-
#15 – Those folks at Methodist know what they are doing, so I’d advise listening carefully to what they say and doing exactly as they recommend. Hubby needs to accept the fact that recovering from this may take a while, so just settle in, turn on Oprah or whatever, relax, and prepare to be bored to tears for a while. I’m surprised they didn’t admit him the first time he went in.
-
This should be hung around the neck of every incumbent polititerd, ESPECIALLY Ds.
-
Katfish
Thoughts and prayers indeed. Glad that his head wasn’t hurt but those internal injuries seem severe. I hope and pray all goes well.
-
Tedtam;
I hope Hubby recovers as well. The 2X4 should help him reason, lol!
God bless

Eeeewwwww. Since when is beer supposed to be stirred? Is the alcohol content enough to kill germs floating around? Or in this case on the fingers doing the stirring?
Someone sober who witnessed this jarring faux pas by Martha shoulda just hollered “Ebola”. 🙂
-
Katfish, prayers launched for this young hero’s recovery.
Tedtam, prayers and a 2 x 4 to manage DH’s infection.
Extra prayer for thee to manage MIL and houseguest interaction while all this goes on. Yardstick might substitute in their case. 😉
-
From the comments section of Sarge’s beer finger link:
Wendy Davis won’t let this loss break her step She realizes life is a marathon and not a sprint. She will argue that Abbott may have drive, but he lacks her stamina. So while he rolls to victory, she will take it in stride
Somewhat crass, but I’ll take it.
-
Wishing for a speedy recovery for Katfish’s injured friend and Tedtam’s husband with an awful infection. Wishing for patience and forebearance for Tedtam herself, who is still putting up with a perennial House Guest in her home.
I am heading out to vote.
-
Well, if Wendy falls on her butt, I’m sure that she can find a wealthy liberal man to help her get back on her feet again.

I think that whorse has already left the barn. . . . .

Good news! The MRI shows no damage to the bones or other structures. Hubby will be kept in the hospital for the next few days with antibiotics running 24/7. Not out of the woods yet, but it looks promising.
-
Oh, and Houseguest is actually guesting in MIL’s house. Not that we don’t get affected by his presence, but he’s not living here anymore.
Thank goodness.

That’s great TT .

I wonder what Mozart would think about boogie woogie if he could be transported from then to now?

So “the Boss” the man I drive and care for finally got to go home from the rehab center on Friday. The family rented a hospital bed and a wheel chair, which were delivered late but on Friday. The right front wheel on the wheel chair contacts the frame making full right and left turns impossible. This is a darned dangerous and extremely difficult issue to deal with. The company was called yesterday and 4 effing times this morning and they have yet to respond. The bill is being paid by Medicare. If there is no resolution by around 10am tomorrow, I may call Medicare and accuse them of fraud, and demand an investigation. I can put up with a lot of crapola, but jacking with the boss simply aint one of them.

I was about to post this when I got back from voting, but Comcast had lost the internet, and I could hear the nap fairy’s song.
That was fast and easy. I did NOT vote for P-Diddy Bush.
I spent the morning at the orthopedics office where it was decided I will have my right knee cracked next Monday. El Gordo had described this procedure and I’m pretty sure this is the same thing. MUA. Manipulation Under Anesthesia. Doctor will slowly bend the knee to 140 degrees, with enough pressure to bust up any scar tissue that is binding the joint. Currently can’t bend that knee more than 90 degrees. I’ll be discharged as soon as awake and rendered pain-free with drugs.
Then I report to Gulag Gymnasium the following morning for immediate resumption of PT. I told David which therapist I would see that day but the name did not click with him. So I said the very tall blonde. And he said, Oh the dyke.
🙁 -
#43 – I complained that those women working in the PT department didn’t seem to feel and darn bit of the pain they were inflicting on me. In fact, I think they sort of enjoyed it. Good luck with the procedure.
-
I sure hope those Flaridans don’t elect Charlie Crist. I don’t even like looking at that guy. What a sleezebag.

The hanky panky in Bexar County was revealed as a very amateurish photoshop job on Ch. 11’s 6 o’clock news. The Abbott campaign jumped right on it.
In other election matters, I can’t abide seeing Karl Rove or Juan Williams on Fox News Channel’s election coverage tonight and therefore will not watch it. Smidgens of both of them on the 5 o’clock program were more than enough. Spouse and I have numerous programs we recorded while on vacation to catch up on.
-
#43 mharper42
That’s a bummer after all the hard work you did in rehab on that knee. Popping adhesions is not fun if one is awake. Best wishes for a complete success.
-
Well, daughter called and is all excited about the election, McConnell has already won in Kentucky, and yes I know he’s a RINO and I did my best to dethrone him in the primary BUTT a RINO is 10,000 times better than any Democrat, HELL I voted for Cornyn after doing my best to fire him in the primary. As a side-bar, I’m scrolling through the channels and stumbled across MSNBC and they have Rachel Madcow and Chris, thrill up my leg, Matthews on, what a JOKE!!! I guess that all five of their viewers like that kinda’ stuff.
That said, I first voted in 1972, the year I turned 18 and I’ve not missed an election since, call me stupid but as an American, this is the most important job I have short of taking care of my family, but if I let this great country go down the tubes, what happens to my kids/grandkids,……I’ll NEVER EVER give up.
Kicks the soap-box aside,….Y’all carry on. -
howdy y’all. An exciting night in the USA. Got rain today and it was chilly but no snow to speak of. Every day gets closer to spring.
On Fox
Fox News projects Rep. Tom Cotton will unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor in Arkansas, the GOP’s second pickup
-
For Tedtam and family.
O holy Father, heavenly Physician of our souls and bodies, who hast sent
thine Only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to heal all our ailments
and deliver us from death: do thou visit and heal thy servant DH., granting him release from pain and restoration to health and vigor, that he may give thanks unto thee and bless thy holy Name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
Amen. -
Looks like hamous is gonna be benefiting from experience in state government.
Farrar appears to be winning.
-
I sure hope those Flaridans don’t elect Charlie Crist. I don’t even like looking at that guy. What a sleezebag.
He’s an automaton!
-
Farrar appears to be winning.
Did she even have an opponent?
-
Looks like we gots us another Bush to muck up the works, in that dynastic sort of way pols have about them. Early Texas returns are trending 60R/40D, and P-Diddy has not been selected out. So far. Rats.
-
Saw an earlier report that turnout was so bad in heavily Democrat Broward County Florida that Crist was filing to have voting hours extended.
-
Good riddance Sen. Mark Pryor in Arkansas.
-
Udall is out gardner is in with 51% in Colorado
-
South Carolina Senator Tim Scott has been called the winner in this special election to retain the Senate seat to which he was appointed in January 2013 after then Senator Jim DeMint resigned to head the Heritage Foundation.
When Scott was appointed, he became the first black senator from the South since Reconstruction.
-
so just settle in, turn on Oprah or whatever
I’d skip the turn on Orpah part if the goal is a faster recovery.
-
Things are looking pretty good so far on the returns. 5 down, 1 to go in the Senate, and Iowa is looking promising. I thought we had it bad having to go with someone like Cornyn, but those poor people in Kansas have Roberts to deal with if his scrawny hands can hold on. Never forget that Karl Rove and his gang fought in the primary to have Roberts retain his seat, so if he loses, Rove is to blame.
-
Jabba the Hutt is on Fox news crying in his beer, I can’t stand that FAT SLOB, why they put him on I’ll never know.
-
61: That is an insult to Jabba the Hutt and Hutts everywhere.
-
Scott Walker wins in Wisconsin, beats Mary Burke handily.
All goes to prove that Badgers are not house pets. 🙂 -
So.
I’m guessing that prediction that Leticia Van Der Putte would be LT Gubner if Dan Patrick got the nomination was kinda wrong, huh?

I wonder if Scott Walker remembers how to not run.

Shannon, Scott has it down to a science. I hope his trouncing of Mary Burke means that he brought the rest of the Republican ticket along with him.
Now he is the kind of fellow who should run Jeb Bush out of town for the 2016 nomination.

AoSHQ Decision Desk, which hasn’t been wrong yet, calls it:
Decision Desk Calls North Carolina, Kansas, Iowa for GOP;
Control of Senate Will Pass to Republicans -
Oh and in case you were wondering if the folks in California had come to their senses,…well no, Moonbeam was reelected, UNBELIVEABLE!
-
Well, let’s just hope that now those weasels up there will at least go through the motions of listening to reason. It would really be nice to see them make some effort to neutralize Zero. Rather than take this as a message, I fully expect President Ebola to accelerate his programs to race us to the bottom even faster.
-
Now that weed is legal in D.C. maybe they will be too stoned to do anything at all.
-
Yawn
Did I miss anything?
-
Texmo – thanks for the prayer. Keep it goin’.
I got back from visiting Hubby for several hours. He’s now in his “permanent” room. His leg is less swollen, though there’s a new pen mark from the doctors, showing the new “infection” line. Hubby calls them his “tattoos”. His leg doesn’t have the shiny look it had when he went in, which the nurse says is a positive, though the color has improved only marginally.
Our near-doctor (have I told you I love our doctors?) called while I was there, and we talked. She asked about the meds being dripped, and I read off the names on the bottles. She said they called them “zilla-cillins” which I gather is a good thing for Hubby.
Hubby is hoping to be home Friday, and we’ll have our follow ups with our doctors at that point. Hubby will have to continue the antibiotics for some time. Docs wanna wipe this out deader’n dead this time.
I’m home now, with Barf Kitty in my lap and watching election returns. I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night, so I should be heading to bed soon. Feeling better about Hubby and the Senate now.
-
Joni Ernst is a class act!
-
Dang—its getting ugly out there. GOP wins Governors races in freaking Illinois and Massachusetts.
-
Wow, we took North Carolina.
-
One Democrat didn’t run away from Obama. In fact, he embraced him enthusiastically. Michelle has been campaigning non-stop.
-
Rand Paul’s hopes of running for president and the Senate simultaneously in 2016 were dealt another setback tonight after Democrats maintained control of the Kentucky state House – as they have since 1921.
As the law currently stands, Paul won’t be able to make a bid for both offices in the next election. The GOP-controlled Kentucky state Senate tried to the change that earlier this year, but the Democratic-led House didn’t take up the legislation. And now that the Democrats have secured their position as the majority party, the measure won’t be going anywhere soon.
Now, Paul will likely have to take his case to court if he wants the law altered, but it’s unclear if he would prevail. For the time being, Paul has a difficult decision to make at some point in the next few months. -National Journal

This going to court thing, or, in this case, the talk of going to court seems to be getting more as election cycles continue. It’s very disturbing.
-
Votes are in for all the elections I cared about (plus a few surprises). Mia Love, however, is leading by a mere 1% with only 15.8% votes reported in. It looks like there are three alternative (non Democrat / non Republican) which count for about 3% of the votes counted.
I’m biting all seven nails.

Whoohoo, go Love!
