DALLAS (Reuters) – Two days after he was sent home from a Dallas hospital, the man who is the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States was seen vomiting on the ground outside an apartment complex as he was bundled into an ambulance.

“His whole family was screaming. He got outside and he was throwing up all over the place,” resident Mesud Osmanovic, 21, said on Wednesday, describing the chaotic scene before the man was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday where he is in serious condition.

An apartment complex. One does assume that’s where he was staying. An apartment complex.

The New York Times said that Duncan, in his mid-40s, helped transport a pregnant woman suffering from Ebola to a hospital in Liberia, where she was turned away for lack of space. Duncan helped bring the woman back to her family’s home and carried her into the house, where she later died, the newspaper reported. Four days later Duncan left for the United States, the Times said, citing the woman’s parents and neighbors.

Texas health officials said that up to 18 people, including five children, had contact with the Ebola patient after he traveled to the United States from Liberia in late September. The children had gone to school early this week but have since been sent home and are being monitored for symptoms.

He had direct physical contact with a woman shortly before she died from Ebola. Four days later, he was able to board a plane to the US. He knew he had been exposed to Ebola the first time he went to the hospital and was sent home.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

That’s the thing hod carriers like Jim Geraghty either don’t understand or would like you to ignore. The latter is a strong possibility as this has been explained to him dozens of times. A self-governing people not only selects amongst the options available, they decide on the options. One block offers up their preferred choice. Another block offers up their choice. The people unsure of which block is right ultimately decide the winners. Some will reject all of the options and seek out an alternative. They can’t do that if they always select from the offered choices.

The sheeple of the GOP insist the dissenters are being unreasonable. After all, staying home means the other side wins. They always claim the dissenters are looking for perfection and that’s the dissenters are being childish. That’s obnoxiously stupid, which reinforces the sense amongst the dissenters that the hod carriers simply don’t respect the opinions of the dissenters. Frankly, it is the only reasonable conclusion. If every time you raise an objection you’re told to shut up and sit down, what other conclusion can you draw?

Don’t you think it’s possible the ebola dummy did NOT know what the people dying all around him in Liberia were dying from? If he knew he had picked up a case of ebola, he would have been afraid of dying himself and would have told them that the first time he went to the Dallas hospital. Since natives of central Africa keep on doing what they’ve been told not to do — e.g. eating raw bush meat — it looks like they just can’t put 2 and 2 together.

Robert Stacy McCain has written some good pieces on feminism this year prompted by the recent rash of politically besotted young women announcing publicly their lesbianism.

The “subordination” of women in their traditional roles as wives, mothers and homemakers was the original target of the Women’s Liberation movement, but as soon as women divorced their husbands, aborted their babies and pursued careers, they discovered that this “liberation” subjected them to new forms of oppression. Made “equal” by federal laws that forbade discrimination, newly liberated women learned that the egalitarian regime did not improve the quality of their relationships with men. To the contrary, the “liberated woman” was subjected to harassment, insults and the selfish predatory sexual behavior of men whose “respect” for women as equals proved to be far crueler in practice than anything that the stereotypical 1950s suburban housewife had ever been expected to endure.

From this recognition — the misleading promise of “liberation” in a man’s world — sprang the radical feminism that identified men as the enemy, and made lesbianism a political statement, arguing that male sexuality was inherently harmful to women.

    and this,

The radical’s resentment of her status as “f**k object” and the perception that her body “is meant for male viewing” shows that her grievance is not with traditionalism, but rather with the hedonistic culture of “liberation” wherein women are expected to market themselves as sexual commodities. Her problem is not that men fall in love with her, want to marry her, take her to a 3BR/2BA ranch house in the suburbs and make babies together. Her problem is that none of these modes of traditional “subordination” are offered to the liberated woman, who is presumed to exist in a state of constant sexual availability, a woman to be had by many men, but never wholly possessed by any of them.

It is the absence of permanent commitment — of “happily ever after,” of complete uniting of herself with man — that inspires the liberated woman to resent not just the selfish indifference of men who desire her only as a “f**k object,” but eventually also to resent the sex act itself. And when she reaches that point, she will find feminist intellectuals ready to encourage and theorize her resentment.

    The author gittzit

I am not biotching here (stating facts), I do not care what people think about me personally. The “but” is that before I decided to just skip the vote, I was a strong proponent of finding a “good enough” 3rd party guy. BECAUSE? Well because even the right wing acknowledges that the GOP needs to have a good enema and purge of the likes of Boehner. But yanno what? Because of whatever reasons that i am no mood to rehash, the regular voters of the GOP continually INSIST on voting for the jetsam and flotsam of the GOP in fear of a “D” occupying the seat. I got summarily bashed with the same calls that a vote for a third party was a vote for the “D” and sillier still it was a half a vote for the “D”.I have yet to figure that type of mathematics out.

There was a time I was DEEP into politics as in active for over 30 years 24/7. FUGGIT that crap. The GOP nominates the same old crap year after year spewing the same old lies knowing the conservatives are going to vote for them because “they do not want a “D” in the seat” (FEAR). The the “R”s park the conservative cars in the garage till the next election and I hear the same old gripes about RINOs.

Yanno at any time in our history we get what we DESERVE as a “resident”. So I retired. I got tired of the stupid ass excuses why we have to continue to vote for the same bovine processed hay only to listen to the complaints from the same group of people that did not have the courage to vote the bastards out and work like hell for 4 years to get the “right” people in. Reality is that ship has sailed too. The biggest lie form the electorate is “we are gonna hold his feet to the fire”.

Robert Stacy McCain again two days ago discussing young actress, Ellen Page, coming out as a lesbian.

(bold emphasis in the quote by me)

Still, we must not ignore the chicken-and-the-egg question: Which came first, Ms. Page’s lesbianism or her feminism? We don’t know, although when a gay gossip blogger “outed” Ms. Page in 2011, I defended her right to privacy (“‘Outing’ Ellen Page: The Politicization of Sex and the Sexualization of Politics”). The feminist maxim that “the personal is political” has always seemed to me a formula for divisiveness, to say nothing of its explicit invalidation of any idea of social good that transcends narrow self-interest. In feminism, extreme individualism becomes a justification for collectivism, whereby the personal grievances of any woman are transmogrified into political demands delivered as an ultimatum on behalf of all women.

The fact that a majority of women reject feminism, per se, has been claimed by feminists as proof that most women are too stupid to know what feminism actually is. However, when the convergence of feminist theory with lesbian practice is demonstrable — “Could it be any more obvious?” — we must presume that women comfortable with their own lives are fit to judge their own interests, and reject feminism rationally. Under a limited government that protects the liberty of individuals under the Rule of Law, we have no political need of any theory to explain Ms. Page’s homosexuality. Feminism says otherwise.

What’s irritating about the “perfection” claims is they are easily disproved by recent elections. Conservatives of all stripes, even paleos, came out in force for the GOP is 1994, 2000, 2004 and 2010. The latter election was fueled by the populist uprising called the Tea Party. Their aim was to reform the GOP, not embrace it. Ever since, the GOP has made war on these people, driving out of the Tea Party wherever possible. Telling these people that perfection is the enemy of the good enough, when they have been living that life and got nothing but abuse for it, is a kick in the teeth.

    Exactly right.

Unfortunately, with Steyn, V.D. Hanson, Richard Fernandez, R.S. McCain as possible exceptions, there are no or few writers on the Right with the rapier, savage wit and concise command of English like Camille Paglia, a woman of bizarre personal appetites and associations.

But you have to have to hand it to her…

The horrors and atrocities of history have been edited out of primary and secondary education except where they can be blamed on racism, sexism, and imperialism — toxins embedded in oppressive outside structures that must be smashed and remade. But the real problem resides in human nature, which religion as well as great art sees as eternally torn by a war between the forces of darkness and light.

Liberalism lacks a profound sense of evil — but so does conservatism these days, when evil is facilely projected onto a foreign host of rising political forces united only in their rejection of Western values. Nothing is more simplistic than the now rote use by politicians and pundits of the cartoonish label “bad guys” for jihadists, as if American foreign policy is a slapdash script for a cowboy movie.

The gender ideology dominating academe denies that sex differences are rooted in biology and sees them instead as malleable fictions that can be revised at will. The assumption is that complaints and protests, enforced by sympathetic campus bureaucrats and government regulators, can and will fundamentally alter all men.

EXCLUSIVE: Bush Says Some U.S. Forces Should Have Stayed in Iraq, Hasn’t Heard From Obama.

Kilmeade asked the former president for his take on some of the tough decisions facing President Obama.

As he has in the past, Bush refused to “second guess” President Obama’s decisions, but noted that he was in favor of leaving behind a residual force of about 10,000-15,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.

“The president has to make the choices he thinks are important. I’m not going to second guess our president. I understand how tough the job is. To have a former president bloviating and second-guessing is, I don’t think, good for the presidency or the country.”

Now that is class, I’m betting that our current POTUS will NOT be this way.

    I got this interesting tidbit from my broker yesterday;

Does it get any wilder than this????

In Sabine Pass, Texas Exxon Mobil, along with Conoco Phillips and Qatar Petroleum build a natural gas import terminal. The purpose was and is to bring into this country Middle Eastern gas. The complex has 5,000 valves, and 50 million pounds of steel in it. It also is the size of almost 80 football fields. The complex cost $2 billion to build. The facility was never used.

The United States is so a washed in natural gas from the fracking process that we are all aware that there is no longer a need to even consider importing natural gas. So what is one to do? Well Exxon and Qatar are now in the process of doubling down, actually more than doubling down on their investment. They are going to put $10 billion into making this import facility into an export facility. The objective is to get government permission to begin to export the inexhaustible supply of natural gas being discovered in this country.

If memory serves, this terminal was to be used for LNG imported from Russia

    PSYCHOLOGY-101 HUMAN BEHAVIOR EXPERIMENT

If you start with a cage containing five monkeys, and inside the cage hang a banana on a string from the top, and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray ALL the monkeys with cold water.

After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result — ALL the monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away.

Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new monkey. The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, ALL of the other monkeys beat the Monkey Crap out of him.

After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new monkey.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment — with enthusiasm — because he is now part of the “team.”

Then, replace a third original monkey with a new monkey, followed by the fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.

Why, you ask? Because in their minds, that is the way it has always been!

This, my friends, is how today’s House and Senate operates; and this is why, from time to time:

ALL of the monkeys need to be
    REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME!

DISCLAIMER: This is meant as no disrespect to monkeys.

GJT, I’ll give you my second choice first, Ruger LCP 380, small light, ergonomic, I.E. it fits your hand so well that the kick is minimized and it is CHEAP inexpensive. The most IMPORTANT thing about it is that it’s narrow, less than an inch wide and that is the MOST IMPORTANT thing for concealed carry, believe it or not but a full sized Colt 1911 45 ACP is easier to carry than a 38 snubby because it’s only an inch wide, the snubby is much wider. My first choice you axe,…for a lady, is the LC 9, a slightly larger version of the LCP only loaded with 9 MM.

    Seven Rounds

I arrived on a robbery call one night. A robber had shot a man through the sternum with a 9mm hollow point. He looked dead. I got on the radio and notified dispatch that we had a murder. Thirty seconds later, the victim started moaning and squirming. Less than a minute later he was fully conscious and complained, “This is the fifth time I’ve been shot.”

But nobody needs more than seven rounds. One round is usually fatal. And nobody could possibly still be a threat after being shot more than once.

The same robbers shot another victim that night. One round in the ankle, one in the face and one in the forehead. 9mm hollow points. This victim turned and ran about 500 yards through an apartment complex, pounded on a door to beg for help, and passed out. Last I heard, years after the shooting, he’s still alive.

But nobody needs more than seven rounds. When you shoot someone, they fall to their knees, pledge their soul to Jesus, gasp dramatically and die.

    and…

Historically speaking, I know of the suspect in the Miami FBI shootout who sustained a non-survivable wound in the first few seconds of the fight, but still managed to kill two FBI agents and wound several others. I know of a drunk suspect who shot an Arkansas deputy twice, then took seventeen 9mm rounds in the torso without effect before the deputy finally shot him twice in the face. I know of the young Georgia mother who shot a burglar five times in the head and neck. He asked her to stop shooting, cried, and drove away. I know of many Soldiers and Marines who sustained horrible wounds and stayed in the fight.

And most folks do not actively think about scenarios or contemplate exactly what they would do if they came under fire. Trust me, shooting someone even a bad guy is not an easy task to accomplish. The adrenal gland is pumping 20 gallons of go juice a second, the heart is racing from a combination of fear and excitement and wayyyyyy back in the brain it is screaming NO NO NO. I have seen guys in live fire drills freeze up and they would have died.

This next statement is gonna urinate off some folks, but here ya go……. TRUTH

I have no problem with an armed population, but the fact of the matter is for every hooray granny shoots the bad guy their are dozens who were presented the opportunity to use their firearm that walked away or froze.

A woman going alone to empty houses, to meet total strangers, in semi-rural areas is a little disconcerting.
