Krauthammer speaks:

So the former president asserts that the current president continues to dishonor his “you like your plan, you can keep your plan” pledge. And calls for the Affordable Care Act to be changed, despite furious White House resistance to the very idea.
Coming from the dean of the Democratic Party, this one line marked the breaching of the dam. It legitimized the brewing rebellion of panicked Democrats against Obamacare. Within hours, that rebellion went loudly public. By Thursday, President Obama had been forced into a rear-guard holding action, asking insurers to grant a one-year extension of current plans.
The damage to the Obama presidency, however, is already done. His approval rating has fallen to 39 percent, his lowest ever. And, for the first time, a majority considers him untrustworthy. That bond is not easily repaired.

For the FIRST TIME? THE FIRST TIME!!!
There are not enough facepalms in the world.

At stake, however, is more than the fate of one presidency or of the current Democratic majority in the Senate. At stake is the new, more ambitious, social-democratic brand of American liberalism introduced by Obama, of which Obamacare is both symbol and concrete embodiment.
Precisely when the GOP was returning to a more constitutionalist conservatism committed to reforming, restructuring and reining in the welfare state (see, for example, the Paul Ryan Medicare reform passed by House Republicans with near-unanimity), Obama offered a transformational liberalism designed to expand the role of government, enlarge the welfare state and create yet more new entitlements (see, for example, his call for universal preschool in his most recent State of the Union address).
The centerpiece of this vision is, of course, Obamacare, the most sweeping social reform in the past half-century, affecting one-sixth of the economy and directly touching the most vital area of life of every citizen.
As the only socially transformational legislation in modern American history to be enacted on a straight party-line vote, Obamacare is wholly owned by the Democrats. Its unraveling would catastrophically undermine their underlying ideology of ever-expansive central government providing cradle-to-grave care for an ever-grateful citizenry.

I can only hope that this SNAFU will catastrophically undermine their ideology. It seems that common sense wouldn’t do it – perhaps gross incompetence will.
Read the whole thing.

    We’re so sorry, Uncle Ahrar.

In a video posted online, members of Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham were shown holding up the head of what they thought was a supporter of President Bashar Assad before a crowd in Aleppo, The Telegraph reported.
After the video was posted, the head was recognized as belonging to Mohammed Fares, a member of Ahrar al-Sham, a well-established rebel group that regularly fights alongside the Islamic State of Iraq, according to the report.

Normally I wouldn’t laugh at a beheading. But when the inbred monsters accidentally decapitate one of their own it’s hard not to laugh.

There was a suicide bombing a couple of days ago in Iraq which kilt a buncha shiite-heads on their holy day of ashura, it was committed by a sunni. Now in Syria, we have a monster kilting one who was ostensibly on their side. I am reminded of this story in Judges Ch 6.

19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and smashed the pitchers that were in their hands. 20 When the three [o]companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers, they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing, and cried, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” 21 Each stood in his place around the camp; and all the [p]army ran, crying out as they fled. 22 When they blew 300 trumpets, the Lord set the sword of one against another even throughout the whole [q]army; and the [r]army fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah, as far as the edge of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath. 23 The men of Israel were summoned from Naphtali and Asher and all Manasseh, and they pursued Midian.

If one considers the State of Israel and how they are completely surrounded by the mooslimes, they are hopelessly outnumbered. In HIS way, HE will cause the enemies of Israel to kill each other, all we have to do is obey and have faith in THE ONE who will deliver.

I’m making progress day to day, and my handlers assure me that I am right on track with the rehab – they don’t seem to understand that I’m special, work harder, endure more pain, etc. and that “right on track” is behind where I expect to be. Anyway, enough complaining – I’m grateful for the experience and will soon be up and running. Hope all is well with you MH. More later.

House Demo-Nazi leadership are now delving into serial lying.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said at the time the statement was made, it was accurate. The problems with the messaging came when people interpreted Obama’s comments “expansively.”
“You understand that if you had a policy on the day that this bill was adopted, you got to keep it,” Hoyer said. “Now, you didn’t get to keep it if the insurance companies didn’t want to offer it to you.”

HEY STENY! The wissin law made it ILLEGAL for the insurance companies to continue to offer it, they had no choice, they were required by law to cancel existing policies. Your statement is a bald faced lie and no one is going to believe it.

Along the lines of accidental beheading of a friend, we have a rare disease on the rise among the animals of the Middle East:

Its called Kuru, an extremely rare disease which virtually became extinct after extinguishing cannibalism in Papua New Guinea. Amazingly Kuru has now been found in 8 to 20 people, out of all places, in war-torn Syria, and the only way it could have come about, doctors confirmed, is through cannibalism and the consumption of human brain,
as first reported by Arabian news source Zaman al-Wasal and substantiated by Orient News Television.

Two of the infected were sent from Syria to a hosptial in Ghazi Antab in Turkey for further examination to only be transferred to another hospital in Germany. One of the two already died, since Kuru is 100% fatal. Kuru is contagious and has symptoms of skin ulcers and worms, and according to a piece on the New York Times,

    From a related source:

… the act of cooking the head of an enemy is deeply rooted in the Islamic religion; the most famous warrior in Sunni Islam’s history, Khalid ibn Walid, decapitated the head of a man named Malik ibn Nuwayrah before raping his wife, placed it under a cooking pot in which he cooked food and from which he then ate out of it. The Hadith for this recounts:

We must then realize what we have been saying: the world, and even most Muslims have not seen the full face of Islam, yet; true Islam is more than just terrorism with bombs and guns, but a cultic system which supports human sacrifice and cannibalization of Allah’s enemies.
My father and I have been forewarning on this with our past articles on cannibalism and human sacrifice being promoted in Egypt, here and here.
Our predictions of cannibalism on the rise are becoming more and more true. First Al Azhar University decreed that it was permissible to cannibalize the enemies of Islam, then human sacrifice was being promoted by Safwat Hegazi, then a Syrian rebel grilled a man’s head, now we have actual footage, recently released, of a Syrian jihadist eating the heart of his enemy like the pagan Mayans.

And cannabalism is being taught in some schools.
Kuru. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

Checked in to third hotel this week. Work week complete, hanging out in the bar, continuing my current exploration of the wide variety of Hebridean Holy water.
Highland Park – One of the more delicate specimens from the week. A bit peaty, but not medicinal. 6/10
Lagavulin 16 – Hugely peaty & medicinal with notes of kerosene (or maybe Jet-A1) 8/10
Lagavulin Pedro Ximenez – Lagavulin 16, plus a ya\ear or two in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. Everything the 16 is, with a bit of raisins or currants. Yum. 9/10
Auchentoshan Three Wood – Holy cr@p!! Who would have thought changing the aging a bit would have made such a huge difference? 10 years in used bourbon casks (bourbon has to be aged in new barrels, scotch only has to be in oak of some sort), 1 year in Oloroso sherry casks provide darker color and some nutty body. A final year in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks provide the raisin & currant notes. 9+/10 (I’m going to check the Duty-Free at Schiphol for this one on the way home).
Bruichladdich X4 “usquebraugh-baul” (the Perilous Whisky) – Had to try this, given the name. It’s bottled at a very high proof (~127º; ‘normal’ is 80º-90º) after distillation and aging at about 90%. Pungent at first. Afterburn (natch) and short intense finish follow. 7/10
The Macallan 18 – Macallan 12’s big brother. The 12 is an excellent ‘starter scotch’. The 18 is to the 12 as an XO Cognac is to a VSOP. Bigger, leather notes, makes you want to find a cigar to enjoy with it. 8/10
There were a couple others, but they were in the 5/10 range – very enjoyable, but not that special.

Good morning Hamsters. Warmer 54 at 6, more humidity, and the cold front is gone. A brief visit of late spring appears before the next cool front from the Pacific this time.
Dr. Krauthammer’s piece above is smashing. And he is scarcely the only pundit saying the donkeys are in stampede mode. When the lefties at WaPo and its freewheeling Politico offspring start beating the drums you know this is serious.
Ted Poe was on Edd Hendee’s program this morning and mentioned that there is a growing agreement among some Republican reps to request a federal court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to compel Obama to follow his law as it is written. Rep. Poe indicated he might be the one to ask for the writ. This would be a grand opportunity for the court to slap Obama down for legislating by executive order in violation of the Constitution, which he has done ever since he was immaculated in 2009. 🙂 For the donkeys, it is more than a bucket of reality in the face this time. More like a tsunami. Bring it on.

For several years I maintained on Lone Star Times and here that the effort to legalize drugs was pointless because once legalization occurred politicians would levy so many taxes on drugs the black market would thrive anyway.
    Bob42 thought I was kidding.

Washington’s legalization initiative, I-502, mandated a 25 percent excise tax at each of three levels of transactions: sales between producers and processors; sales between processors and retailers; and sales between retailers and customers. That’s all on top of a state sales tax of 8.75 percent. As Jacob Sullum argued at Forbes, the upshot of such a system is that weed could end up costing end users somewhere between $482 an ounce and $723 an ounce. The average price of high-quality pot at Seattle’s medical marijuana dispensaries is currently about $250 an ounce (under I-502, medicinal pot won’t be subject to taxes).

    It’s great to be me.
