First!!
It’s my Monday, back to the salt mine.
Mornin’ Gang -
I’m don’t know if this was posted before BUTT Debbie Wasserman Skank has been into bob42’s stash; Democrats Will Win in 2014 Running on Obamacare

So if your enrollment numbers are waay down, what to do, LIE, of course.

Good morning Hamsters. Clear, sparkly sky and 50 at 6, light mist on the moors, and the big blow is on the way. All the leaves that were raked up yesterday and plopped on the pile in the side pasture will likely be shifted a bit before the day is over. If the wind is strong enough many of them will land in the neighbors’ pasture. Of course many more that at this moment are still attached to our trees will land in our yard and pastures so the clean yard will last maybe half a day. Such are the fortunes of Fall. ๐
DWS is certifiably delusional and obviously off her meds–presuming she ever was on meds. Keep it up, Deb. We need more humor. While you’re at it, make it a duet with Wendy Davis…. -
Well it was a crisp 54 degrees in Clear Lake this morning. Nice weather for a change.

#6 SD,
But Wilson, who won a six-year term on the nine-member board, is unapologetic.
“Every time a politician talks, he’s out there deceiving voters,” Wilson said.Dave Wilson is my new hero! What he did goes to show that people will stupidly vote for what they want to believe a candidate is rather than what he actually is. I’ve come to the conclusion that the vast majority of voters WANT to be deceived. Your average voter doesn’t know how to mentally process “blunt”. By “blunt” I do not refer to the way the media erroneously assigns that quality to manipulative, power-hungry twits like Christie. I mean people who truly speak their minds in a plain, straightforward manner. Rub their noses in it, Mr. Wilson! It’s exactly what they asked for.
-
I’m again reminded of Neil Boortz’s cat drop spectacle which he announced on his radio show a while back. Seems he and his sky diving posse would round up a bunch of stray cats, take them up in an airplane, toss everyone overboard, and the individual who landed with the most cats attached would be declared the winner. Didn’t go over too well on the air I heard.
-
Now, that’s funny.
I don’t care who you are. -
My parish is hosting a concert on Saturday December 14th to support humanitarian efforts in Syria. The concert will feature a violinist, pianist, and vocalist. It will also feature the St. Romanos Pan Orthodox Chorale. Please feel free to spread the word. Tickets can be purchased at our parish website here.

Even the greeney weenies are starting to come out against corn based ethanol for fuel. I am somewhat amazed that the enviro-wackos are starting to come around and realize that a fundamentally flawed program, making ethanol from corn for fuel, may not be good for the environment afterall. It certainly ain’t renewable, seeing as how it takes approx 2 gals of diesel fuel to put one gallon of ethanol in the gas tank of your car.

What adorable fashion, Mr Pyro! Of course, most of my sweat suits look like that already, all stretched out and tattered from the daily romping sessions I have with my kittehs.

You wouldn’t be an official CCL if you didn’t wear a sweat suit.

RE: Milk
This guy does it the same way I have. Place the meat in a baggy w/ milk and a bit of salt. Marinade for 24 hours changing the milk about ever 6/8 hours. It really does cut down that uber- gamey flavor. -
An interesting question.
Would you pay $10,000 a year to stay married to your spouse?

Thanks Squawk. If I can convince TW it works I just may start hunting again. No point now because it’s just the two of us and I can’t eat a whole deer.

I understand that. I hate cooking for one when there is 2 in the house. ๐ -
#14: Great link to game recipes, thanks
#16: Ground venison can be used just like ground beef, except it has no fat. To make burgers, you need to add an egg and some flour to make the patty stick together. It makes the best darned meat sauce for lasagna or spaghetti you can imagine, no gamey taste whatsoever. -
When Hubby and I were in college, we went through a period where we had NO money. Not just broke, we were both dead broke. His roomie had a hunting buddy who gave him 50 chubs of venison/pork sausage.
We ate that sausage morning, noon, and night. I became very creative with what I had in the pantry and what we had in the freezer. For weeks.
We were very happy to be done with the venison when that period was over and we got our next checks. -
When Hubby and I were in college
The very notion of being married while I was in college is beyond me. I was such a goof it is amazing that I even survived. I didn’t get married until I was 35.
-
As Dave said yesterday, if you age the meat, there’s no need for marinating away the “gamey” taste. You don’t have to have a walk-in cooler, either. As long as you have plenty of ice available you can do it in coolers. Just keep it dry and cool. There’s a reason why the beef you buy is aged. If you butchered a steer and started eating it without aging you probably wouldn’t like the taste of beef either.

The Obamacare rollout has been almost universally problematic, but North Carolina is having a particularly rough time, which could spell trouble for Senator Kay Hagan (D., N.C.), who is beginning to look vulnerable heading into 2014.
Senators are calling on two independent government watchdogs to launch a “thorough investigation” into the failed launch of the ObamaCare website, as officials scramble to correct the problems by the end of the month.
The lawmaker leading the charge for the new probe is North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan…Come next year will the voters of NC remember that she voted for Bonnie Prince Barry’s signature legislation?
-
Leading edge of front has arrived here in Washinton Co.
Cold wind blowin’. -
Come next year will the voters of NC remember that she voted for Bonnie Prince Barryโs signature legislation?
Highly doubtful (refer to my #7). I find it sadly funny that a lot of the same people who voted for this thing in the first place are now scrambling to distance themselves from it. In other words, the concept isn’t the problem for them; it’s just that the implementation was problematic. Sounds a lot like the way some justify communist ideology.

James O’Keefe is pulling back the curtain and exposing the corruption in Ocare and its navigators for what they are: predators.
Some of the comments from the NRO article nail it:tiredturtle
โข 13 hours ago
When you have a government program hiring “navigators” who must be “affirmative action hires” from our lowest performing schools, who are raised in single parent homes, with the “parent” themselves being a child, who depends upon the government for their subsistence and who routinely game the system to get more “free stuff”, you wind up with this corrupt system of “navigators” who actually only believe that scamming the system is OK.

You nailed it perfectly!

I think it gets worse. Progressives pimp the mindless into slavery. This administration, blessed with the most unrepentant progressives to come along in decades are likely in complete delight envisioning their political enemies, now without affordable health insurance and having to grovel to Obama’s pimped slaves and disclose all their most personal and secure information. This is no oversight. This is intelligent design by the conscientiously evil.
If the IRS can be so easily corrupted, think how easy their rent-a-mobster “community organizations” will be. When they hire people, many of whom are likely difficult to train, isn’t it fortunate that no training is necessary.
Only the innumerate would have been unconvinced that Obama wasn’t lying back when this poison pill of social engineering was passed. -

Yep. Pack it on ice in coolers and let coolers drain for a week or so.
But you still better know what you’re doing when skinning and dressing. -

TT did not say they were married. She mentioned DH had a roommate.

If you people had any sense, you’d just pack up your venison and other wild game and send it to Mrs. Shannon to cook for you.

Knowing that he will face a Tea Party challenger, Lindsey Graham is starting to get tough.
HEADLINE: Lindsey Graham doubles down on threat to block nominees over Benghazi
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is holding firm on a threat to block President Obama’s nominees from being confirmed by the Senate unless the administration makes survivors of the Sept. 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, available to Congress for questioning.
“My request has been going on for a year, to talk to the five survivors,” Graham said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday. “I want to perform oversight. I’m not trying to prosecute a crime.“In other words: “I want to pretend to want to do my job, but I really just want to get re-elected. I’m not trying to ruffle any feathers or anything, I promise I will once again be your lap dog, after the election I will have a whole lot more flexibility.”
I’m glad he wants to have access to the survivors, I would really like to get to the bottom of the issue as well. I seriously question his motives and his integrity. It is way past time for that SOB to be gone and replaced with a genuine conservative. -

Stephens: Axis of Fantasy vs. Axis of Reality.
When the history of the Obama administration’s foreign policy is written 20 or so years from now, the career of Wendy Sherman, our chief nuclear negotiator with Iran, will be instructive.
In 1988, the former social worker ran the Washington office of the Dukakis campaign and worked at the Democratic National Committee. That was the year the Massachusetts governorcarried 111 electoral votes to George H.W. Bush’s 426. In the mid-1990s, Ms. Sherman was briefly the CEO of something called the Fannie Mae Foundation, supposedly a charity that was shut down a decade later for what the Washington Post called “using tax-exempt contributions to advance corporate interests.”
From there it was on to the State Department, where she served as a point person in nuclear negotiations with North Korea and met with Kim Jong Il himself. The late dictator, she testified, was “witty and humorous,” “a conceptual thinker,” “a quick problem-solver,” “smart, engaged, knowledgeable, self-confident.” Also a movie buff who loved Michael Jodan highlight videos. A regular guy!
Later Ms. Sherman was to be found working for her former boss as the No. 2 at the Albright-Stonebridge Group before taking the No. 3 spot at the State Department. Ethics scolds might describe the arc of her career as a revolving door between misspending taxpayer dollars in government and mooching off them in the private sector. But it’s mainly an example of failing upโthe Washingtonian phenomenon of promotion to ever-higher positions of authority and prestige irrespective of past performance. These are Obamaโs peopleโฆ.Spits~

I’d love to know what’s going on in the mind of Chief Justice John Roberts these bleak, dark days of Obamacare.
He could have saved Barack and other Democrats a lot of grief by overturning the ACA 18 months ago. And Roberts thought he was doing the nation a favor.
The Republican House and Sen. Cruz gave Obama one chance after another to buy time so that the plan might someday work, but no, he was having none of it.
The Republicans keep offering the Democrats a lifeline and they keep throwing it back. -
#37 TP: I would now like for the Rs to simply insist that all provisions of the act be enacted on schedule; insisting that it is the law of the land, therefore all the crapola that follows gets flung back in the Ds face, seeing as how they are the only ones who voted for it.
-
Roberts does not care. His entire decision was based on the false premise of this is what the Amurikens wanted by voting “O” in so he wrote legislation from the bench to “make it legal”. I am convinced he knew damn well what he did was wrong and what is bad is even he felt some remorse there is no way the supremos are going to revisit that issue anytime soon to fix what was done.
-
The only way the Obamacare disaster makes sense is if you approach it from the point of view that it was intended to fail in the first place. Fully implemented, single payer, govt. controlled healthcare in the US by 2019 is my estimate.
-
From a Catholic perspective.
Say what you will, but Dems know how to play the long game. -
Can this possibly be legal? Can the administration seriously be considering this idea, which is potentially costly and politically disastrous? Imagine how Democrats will feel about turning over the central operations of the health law to insurers. Imagine how Republicans will react to a plan that could cost more, and will serve as an implicit admission that the exchanges simply wonโt work without a major overhaul.
That it is even being discussed suggests how dire the outlook is for the lawโs near-term functionality.โ -
Say what you will, but Dems know how to play the long game.
And if you do not play along with them they said this crazy woman to your house.

What surprises me is that anyone is surprised that was the plan all along. That’s one of the few things Bonnie Prince Barry has said that you can believe.
