Wow.
Serial-baby-killer nurse Genene Jones is due to be released in 2018.
Suspected in the murder of up to 48 Texas infants back in the 80’s, she was convicted in two cases. The Death Shift, a book about her, is somewhere back there on my bookshelf. -

Good morning Hamsters. Amid significant lightning and thunder, we’re off to a wet and messy start today. Radar indicates this is just the opening salvo of a nasty day ahead.
Mugly 72 at 6 before the first serious shower struck.
Newspaper was not double bagged and therefore was wet in one big spot clear through all sections. What delivery person did not know the forecast for today? A call to the Chron circulation folks will not be helpful, but I will do so anyhow. Several requests to have the paper put in the newspaper holder beside our mailbox have been ignored. This will not be forgotten come Christmas season…. -
#4 – VERY COOL and creative for sure!

At this moment Kathleen Sebelius is spinning tales to the House committee. Perhaps her notes are contained in a Crazy 8 ball. As for the possibility she will be forced to resign over this Obamacare debacle, I think not. Her ears are just as large as Obama’s, and we know–thanks to Maureen Dowd–just how sensitive he is about his ears. So by extension, anyone on his team with large ears needs to be protected. Makes as much sense as anything else this gang has said or done.

Mr. Ed’s sister is now officially on “Death Watch”
HEADLINE: Kathleen Sebelius, welcome to an unwelcome Washington tradition: The deathwatch.
Is this the first leak in the dyke, soon to be followed by an administration wide implosion (he asks hopefully) and an airing of just who knew what about what and when?

ADDED: During her testimony before Congress Wednesday, Secretary Sebelius claimed, “The website never crashed. It is functional, but at a very slow speed and very low reliability.”
Just minutes before Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was set to testify on Capitol Hill, the Healthcare.gov site crashed. Spot checks verified that the State of North Carolina, Virginia, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, New York, Maryland, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, and New Hampshire are all down – which likely means the entire federal site is down.
The site was still down thirty-minutes into Sebelius’ testimony. -
#23 TP: Mayhaps they should oughta ask her what the definition of a website “crashing” is. . .you know so we are all on the same page. Kind of like the definition of “is” . . .

Is Senilius under oath? Did she just commit perjury by testifying that the website never crashed?

Meanwhile, back in bizarro-world:
HEADLINE: MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow: ‘The Clintons Represent a Style of Honesty That the Public Craves Right Now’
Yes, you read that correctly, the public craves Clinton style of honesty. If by crave you mean quickly inducing violent wretching and explosive drizzles out the back side, and by honesty you mean serial lies with no moves towards the truth, then I guess it makes a little sense.

“What is going on is, behind the scenes attempt by the White House to at least keep insurerers from publicly criticizing what is happening on this Affordable Care Act rollout. Basically, if you speak out, if you are quoted, you’re going to get a call from the White House, pressure to be quiet,” reports CNN.
“Several sources tell me and my colleague Chris Frates that insurance executives are being told to keep quiet. [The head of] a consulting firm for big insurance and an out spoken critic of Obamacare says he is getting calls from these executives who want him to speak out, Anderson, for them about the problems because they feel defenseless against the White House PR team. … the White House is exerting massive pressure on the industry, including the trade associations, to keep quiet. Sources telling us they fear White House retribution.” -

The website never crashed. It is functional, but at a very slow speed and very low reliability.
It doesn’t get any more Orwellian than that.
-
as speed slows, the symptoms more closely resemble a hang
low reliability can mean lots of things, from actual crashes (unexpected program exits) to return of bad data -
Officials looking for Shotgun after man fatally stabbed in neck
Was he stabbed with a shotgun? Maybe someone had fixed a bayonet on the shotgun? Nope.
Rashad Romelis Tate, also know as Shotti/Shotta Shotgun, is sought in the stabbing death of Carlos Martin on Feb. 19 at a home in the 13200 block of Benford, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Good thing we have liberals to make sure we have that separation of church and state.
The National Security Agency spied on the future Pope Francis before and during the Vatican conclave at which he was chosen to succeed Benedict XVI, it was claimed on Wednesday.
The American spy agency monitored telephone calls made to and from the residence in Rome where the then Archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio stayed during the conclave, the secret election at which cardinals chose him as pontiff on March 13.
The claims were made by Panorama, an Italian weekly news magazine, which said that the NSA monitored the telephone calls of many bishops and cardinals at the Vatican in the lead-up to the conclave, which was held amid tight security in the Sistine Chapel. -

For some political commentators, Lee’s speech seemed like an abrupt turn from the senator’s recent fight to defund Obamacare through a government shutdown. And for those that only sporadically pay attention to Lee, that impression is fair. But if you follow Lee closely, then you would know that yesterday’s speech was part of a much larger and long-term effort formulate a conservative policy agenda that can unite the party and govern the country in the next century.
Lee kicked off this debate with an April 2013 speech, also at The Heritage Foundation, that sought to reorieantate the party away from some of the failed messages of the 2012 Romney campaign.
“In the last few years, we conservatives seem to have abandoned words like ‘together,’ ‘compassion,’ and ‘community,’ as if their only possible meanings were a secret code for statism,” Lee said. “This is a mistake. Collective action doesn’t only—or even usually—mean government action.”
“Ours has never been a vision of isolated, atomized loners,” Lee continued. “It is a vision of husbands and wives; parents and children; neighbors and neighborhoods; volunteers and congregations; bosses and employees; businesses and customers; clubs, teams, groups, associations—and friends. The essence of human freedom, of civilization itself, is cooperation. This is something conservatives should celebrate. It’s what conservatism is all about. Freedom doesn’t mean ‘you’re on your own.’ It means ‘we’re all in this together.’”http://townhall.com/tipsheet/conncarroll/2013/10/30/mike-lees-new-republican-party-n1733290
I found this right as I finished listening to Lee’s speech.

#32 Hamous: I think Eddd Hendeee spoke of that this morning. Apparently the perp shoved the barrel of the shotgun down the throat of the victim and the victim died from the associated trauma, there was no shot fired. Impaling would prolly have been a better word to use than stab.

Does this guy even know what he’s admitting? That all “regular Muslims” hold beliefs that put them at odds with every other society in the world?

I quit watching Leno and especially Letterman (I never could stand that piece of wiss), but I’ll give Leno a ratings boost to see Cruz.

#46: That is what I have been trying to alert everybody to for the last several years; what we here in the west consider radical and extreme behavior in the world of islam, is actually behavior that they all support or even participate in. There can be no peace with islam, they must be wiped out.

I had a bad session this morning. I forgot to take my pain pill, the ballerina PT was late getting there in bad weather traffic, and so “the coach” took me today. I felt worse when I got home than any day since I left the hospital. My good leg hurt as much as the bad one. Took my pill, conked out for most of the rest of the day, and was not able to complete my home exercise set in the afternoon. I have got to get some organization and discipline into my schedule!

Anybody else see Brett Baier’s Special Report tonight on Fox? Juan Williams was on the panel and made an even bigger fool of himself than the last time several of us saw him on that program. Even Dr. Krauthammer was just about incredulous at Juan blithely excusing the Obamacare website failure as last week’s news and whining that the Pubbies were hammering Sebelius today about all the folks who are losing the insurance they thought they could keep because Obama and minions lied all along about you can keep your insurance, you can keep your doctor. Juan blamed the insurance companies, obviously having his copy of today’s Dem. talking points. He was strewing non sequiturs like Ophelia strewing rose petals. It was a spectacle. Brett was having none of it at the end.
Earlier in the program Pete Olson was in a clip interrogating her on the latest website failure just as the hearing began and doing a good job of it. He was livid but kept his cool, though there was an edge to his voice that was unmistakable. And he spoke over her attempts to defend it. Glad to see that from him and other Pubbies on the panel. -

So, Alex Rabies Jones is at it again with another off the wall one. Seems like anything appearing on Infowars ought to be deemed guilty until proven innocent. 🙂 Correction to that was on Ch. 11 tonight as well as flying all over the net after everybody got stirred up by the false report. Them were fightin’ words all right. -
