In the first place most folks don’t know about the exemption, HJ3!! I din’t even know about, and even in those states there are a lot of football fans. The Dakota’s might be for Green Bay, the other two maybe the Bronco’s or the Seahawks. In Alabamy there Falcon and Braves fans, although there are many more Alabama & Auburn fans.

I do not put butter on mine; the flavor comes from the cheese itself and thinly sliced onions in the melt. I do not use American cheese. I use 3 slices of harmonizing flavors, Swiss or Havarti being highly favored.

Lots of other individuals own shares of the team, and periodic stock offerings provide $$$ for facility improvements, etc. Spouse and I own 2 shares bought in the last offering about 2 years ago. Christmas gift to us. 🙂 The new offering was made in November and was to last into the following February. It sold out in December.
Share ownership is limited to the purchaser or gift recipient and his/her family heirs. There is no market for resale as they can’t be sold. We get announcements of the annual meeting in Green Bay and are welcome to attend. That would be fun.

It’s true that most (all?) reservations are self-governing. The problem is that there’s a lot (relatively speaking) of cash thrown at them in the form of welfare and other types of “assistance”. This money is divvied up by the tribes and by the gov’t, depending on the program.
What happens is that the people it’s supposed to help get just enough to subsist on and this tends to rob them of their ambitions to make something more of their lives. The money sent to the tribe at large tends to foster corruption among the leadership in the process of deciding what to do with it all.
It’s exactly what you see in the other minority communities where there is lots of taxpayer assistance, but on a much deeper and much grander scale.
I wonder if Weiner will join the throngs of people heading off to this tourist destination?

I agree, the woman is a poser. When butter is used, it goes on the outside of the sammich before being placed in the microwave.

I have a hard time imagining how this proposed legislation will stand up to federal constitutional scrutiny. I don’t normally agree with environmental wackos, but this is indeed a grave problem that must be addressed. These built-in insecticides are killing the beneficials as well as the crop damaging critters.
#34 TT: In many cases the eco-wackos are simply nothing more than deranged fools. When you start inserting non-plant DNA into critically important food crops, (like the staff of life, wheat) you are really stepping recklessly into the most dangerous of minefields. The FDA was bought in order to approve of these crops as food without the testing required, let alone the labeling requirements that happen for everything else. Does anyone wonder why allergies are becoming more prevalent and more severe; it is because our food is being adulterated. I don’t have much of a problem cross breeding different strains of wheat together to form a better product, I have a huge problem adding squid or eucalyptus DNA into wheat because of the myriad of unintended outcomes that are possible.
Our understanding of all the different roles genes and chromosomes play in DNA is still in its infancy; ditto that with long term exposure to neuro-toxins found in many pesticides.

Yes, I knew that, I was just saying that if people in those states wanted a team to root for it might be The Packers. I’ve known several fans out here at the Rocket Ranch that had their one share. The stock certificate is very pretty framed and on the wall.

We Packers fans welcome more supporters from every corner of this nation.
Our stock certificates are in a folder in the file cabinet. Though I suppose we could frame them and hang them in the room with the horse achievement awards, ribbons, and trophies.
The strangest one is a National Championship in the Stall Decorating Contest (4 or fewer stalls) at the 2002 Arabian Horse Ass’n Youth National Show. The decorations traveled to the show in Albuquerque with a family from our training stable whose two daughters were showing. We didn’t go. Sent along directions on how to assemble the decorations. They centered around a large Garfield banner with his hands raised holding a framed sign that read: “24 carrots, go for the gold.” Bunches of plastic carrots and sunflowers surrounded him on the royal blue tack curtains, with garlands of sunflowers strung along the valances. Also had bunches of plastic carrots on the stall doors over the blue door covers. A carrot and sunflower arrangement sat on the blue covered table in front of the tackroom door. Made sure we had exactly 24 carrots. 🙂 That’s as close as we came to winning any national show award.

A little clarification regarding pro sports tax exemptions I heard today, no I ain’t looked it up but I wouldn’t understand it if I did. Besides, I got bloggin’ to do.
The NFL’s 32 teams individually all pay taxes, the NFL itself serves as a clearing house of sorts, taking in money and dispersing it out to the teams. It supposedly makes no profit. The MLB tax exemption was removed some years back and they say there has been little difference in taxes paid by MLB overall since the change.
That does not discount the shannonigans played by the NFL and their stadium scams, however.

Well, Ole Dave is loading up to head out to Flarada VIA Alabamy in the morning. Just about the time that I got the old truck loaded up with everything that I could put in it tonight, the Boy drove up, at about seven and stayed until a little after nine, he came to pick up the 44 ammo that I had loaded and the AK 47 ammo that I bought. Anyway, the wife was at a “Hen Party” and it was just me and the dawgs when he got here so we had a great time talking about his world, I even had some of his favorite beer left over from the last get together, (burgers for Mother’s Day). This put a small dent in my schedule, BUTT dang Dammit it was well worth it! Yup, “Life is Good”! 😀
