Did TOTUS finally step in somfin he WON’T be able to get off of his shoe?
There’s dumb, there’s stupid, and then there’s insane.Threatening the man who was behind the original investigation of Watergate for reporting something that is absolutely true and in fact irrefutable falls into the latter category.
I, for one, am sure PRAYING for a Watergate sequel!! *hands clasped towards Heaven*

The American Coot has a variety of repeated calls and sounds. Male and female Coots make different types of calls to similar situations. Male alarm calls are โpuhlkโ while female alarm calls are โpoonkโ. Also, stressed males go โpuhk-cowahโ or โpow-urโ while females call โcooahโ.[3] – Wiki

I’ve heard all of them coot calls.
Just outside the Main Gate at Fort Sill.

It seems that night was not ready to give it up this morning and the sun was not going to take no for an answer. Well, as one may assume, there was quite the kerfuffel about the disagreement and between 6:35 and 6:45 this morning the sky was absolutely on fire – and I had the privilege of witnessing it :>)

Justice Scalia is scaring a few libs out there. I hope he has a good bodyguard. “Racial entitlement” is being named and claimed.
Well, maybe it was making that judgment, Mr. Verrilli. But thatโs โ thatโs a problem that I have. This Court doesnโt like to get involved in โ in racial questions such as this one. Itโs something that can be left โ left to Congress. The problem here, however, is suggested by the comment I made earlier, that the initial enactment of this legislation in a โ in a time when the need for it was so much more abundantly clear was โ in the Senate, there โ it was double-digits against it. And that was only a 5-year term.
Then, it is reenacted 5 years later, again for a 5-year term. Double-digits against it in the Senate. Then it was reenacted for 7 years. Single digits against it. Then enacted for 25 years, 8 Senate votes against it. And this last enactment, not a single vote in the Senate against it. And the House is pretty much the same. Now, I donโt think thatโs attributable to the fact that it is so much clearer now that we need this. I think it is attributable, very likely attributable, to a phenomenon that is called perpetuation of racial entitlement. Itโs been written about. Whenever a society adopts racial entitlements, it is very difficult to get out of them through the normal political processes.
I donโt think there is anything to be gained by any Senator to vote against continuation of this act. And I am fairly confident it will be reenacted in perpetuity unless โ unless a court can say it does not comport with the Constitution. You have to show, when you are treating different States differently, that thereโs a good reason for it.
Thatโs the โ thatโs the concern that those of us who โ who have some questions about this statute have. Itโs โ itโs a concern that this is not the kind of a question you can leave to Congress. There are certain districts in the House that are black districts by law just about now. And even the Virginia Senators, they have no interest in voting against this. The State government is not their government, and they are going to lose โ they are going to lose votes if they do not reenact the Voting Rights Act. Even the name of it is wonderful: The Voting Rights Act. Who is going to vote against that in the future? -

Yes, it was spectacular. -

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 8:40amWhy does this have to be so hard? In order to vote you should be:
1). 18 or older
2). Mentally competent (although never enforced, how else are liberals allowed to vote?)
3). A LEGAL U.S. citizen.
4). Not a criminal (convicted felon or worse).
Any person or group that denies someone their ability to vote, goes to prison. No one is denied based on race, gender, religion, etc.

On occasion, I would glance around and see that no one else watching the glorious spectacle; there were all seemingly on auto-pilot. Tragically it is the same for most people politically speaking as well – genuine thought and observation simply do not enter the consciousness.

in light of the sequestration debacle , the Obama administration is proposing to do away with the month of February from the calendar. This will free up one month of entitlements to be redistributed through the rest of the year. Estimated cost savings to the taxpayer is expected to be $860 billion over the next 5 years.
Anonymous sources in the administration complained that the Republicans refusal to raise any more taxes on the wealthy and the looming draconian budget cuts something drastically creative had to be done. -
Cowgirls get organized
February 28, 1948
On this day in 1948, the Girls Rodeo Association, forerunner of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association, was formed in San Angelo. The event followed the historic “all-girl” rodeo produced the previous fall in Amarillo. The founders, who met to organize and established goals, determined to raise the standards of cowgirl contests and to protect cowgirls from unfair practices. The WPRA is the oldest organization of women athletes in America. -
#24 TT: IN addition to the list you block quoted, I would like to add:
1) You must possess a valid, state-issued photo ID. This ID will have any restrictions to voting encoded on the magnetic strip (restrictions to firearm ownership/ammunition purchase could also be included).
2) All ballots must be “hard copy” to provide an accurate paper back-up to vote tally in the case of a re-count.
3) No absentee ballots sent without a darn good reason, the recipients of those ballots must be verified as eligible (or actually in existence) prior to the election. Active duty military members on deployment are exempt from this requirement.
4) Absentee military ballots must be sent out no later than 60 days prior to the election and they are eligible to be counted up to 10 days after the election. All the military brass must make every reasonable effort to give all eligible military members the opportunity to vote and have the ballots returned in a timely fashion.
5) If an absentee ballot is sent out that person is barred from voting in person either early or on election day.
6) If anyone is convicted of voting more than once in an election or participates in voter fraud, the minimum sentence in the Fed prison is 20 years with out the possibility of parole. -

United Airlines now delivers bags straight to your house
By Carol Christian | February 27, 2013 | Updated: February 27, 2013 3:16pm
United Airlines passengers landing in Houston can now bypass the baggage claim carousel and have their suitcases delivered to their destinations, for a fee
Available to United passengers traveling to 36 cities including Houston, the service is known as Bags VIP.
The cost to deliver one bag within a 40-mile radius of the airport is $29.95. For two bags, the price is $39.95; three to eight bags, $49.95.
For an additional charge that varies by distance, travelers can get their bags delivered within a radius of up to 100 miles from the airport.
These fees are in addition to the cost of checking bags on the flight, the airline said in a news release.
In addition to Houston, the list of destination cities where the service is available includes Albuquerque, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, New York/Newark, Phoenix, Seattle and both Washington airports.
United plans to expand the service to nearly 200 domestic airports, the release said but did not specify the time frame.
The existing Bags VIP service for United passenger takes in 80 percent of the carrier’s domestic flights, the release said.
Travelers can order the service online or by calling 877-847-0045.And then comes phase 2:
When they lose your baggage, they will tell you “When we find it, you must come to the airport to pick it up, or, we have a service that will deliver it to your house…………..”
Remember, folks, you saw it here first! -
But CN U C M ED BD [iiiii] ?
-
#34 OTL: My understanding is that if your bag is “mis-routed” and does not arrive at your destination when you do, they have to deliver it with no charge once it is located and sent to the destination airport. I have seen this happen.
From a marketing standpoint, it is good policy to do this as it defines taking responsibility for one’s own mistakes. When a company takes responsibility and makes the problem go away, it generates trust and loyalty.
Mistakes will happen, that is a given, the real issue is how those mistakes are handled. -

That is and has been the policy on lost luggage, but, checked baggage used to be free, food was free, earphones were free, ad infinitum…….. -
Good morning Hamsters. Wow what a glorious Sunrise at its inception. Apollo’s Chariot of Fire ascendant this morning and now shrouded in clouds. Cold and breezy 41 at 6, and it’s a good remineder that Spring arrives late in March. The breeze bites as it strengthens so the current 46 yields less warmth. The mares are busy grazing, but today it is tails to the wind.
Woe to eager gardeners who have already planted spring/summer flowers and veggies, given the predicted low 30s nights for the next few days. Have resisted that and take enjoyment from viewing the stalwart pansies smiling in the cold and resisting the wind.
Bundle up and watch the news of doom as the supposed monster Sequester lurks. -
morning all, the sunrise was indeed spectacular. In other news I am sure some of you will find this amusing.

A Dark Day in Texas History
February 28, 1918 – The Texas Legislature adopted national prohibition, banning the production and consumption of alcohol in the state of Texas. -
While federal managers picked the same three morale killers, they ranked them in a slightly different order, naming ineffective leadership as the worst offender, followed by pay freezes and fed bashing.
“Listening to employees who are discouraged because they are bringing home less money is very disturbing and affects the morale of the entire workforce,” wrote one federal manager. “If my morale is low then it will reflect on the employees, so as managers we have to try to boost morale.”
Another federal manager said work was no longer as enjoyable due to low office morale.
“Now I keep wondering if I will be furloughed tomorrow or be able to meet my house payment,” he wrote. “For some reason, the public seems to think all feds get paid like the ones in D.C. Some of us make from $26,000 to $60,000 a year. This is going in reverse with the increase in insurance, taxes and whatever Congress thinks we owe the world.”This makes news? That the rising cost of living and not making enough money is a morale buster? For federal workers? Holeeee crap, look at the thousands who have lost homes and businesses, moved in with family, who have been looking for work for months or even years, and those who have lost their retirements. If you want to be wissed off, look at the unholy trinity of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi and what they’ve done to our economy.

“You know, stop lights don’t come any redder than the one you just went through.”
“Relax, the handcuffs are tight because they’re new. They’ll stretch after you wear them a while.”
“If you take your hands off the car, I’ll make your birth certificate a worthless document.”
“If you run, you’ll only go to jail tired.”
“Can you run faster than 1200 feet per second? Because that’s the speed of the bullet that’ll be chasing you.”
“You don’t know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?”
“Yes, sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don’t think it will help. Oh, did I mention that I’m the shift supervisor?”
“Warning! You want a warning? O.K, I’m warning you not to do that again or I’ll give you another ticket.”
“The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?”
“Fair? You want me to be fair? Listen, fair is a place where you go to ride on rides, eat cotton candy and corn dogs and step in monkey poop.”
“Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven.”
“In God we trust; all others we run through NCIC.”
“Just how big were those ‘two beers’ you say you had?”
“No sir, we don’t have quotas anymore. We used to, but now we’re allowed to write as many tickets as we can.”
“I’m glad to hear that the Chief of Police is a personal friend of yours. So you know someone who can post your bail.”
“You didn’t think we give pretty women tickets? You’re right, we don’t. Sign here.” -

Reason for leaving current address: “Got tired of my baby momma’s crap!”

Where were you last employed? “Carter County jail.”
What did you do there? “time” -
According to Maxine Waters, if we go through with the sequester, we’ll have to borrow around 25 million jobs so we can then lose them.

Only an issue for me if the kiosks are closed. Most “regular travel” is by road – in the Michigan / Southern Ontario area, there’s TONS of cross-border traffic between the US & Canadian car manufacturing plants. Similar on Mexico border.
It looks like the bulk of my travels will be elsewhere anyway. -
