Piers Morgan has certainly made a name for himself recently. His anti-gun rants have riled up certain segments of our society, and if he could repeal the Second Amendment, he would.
He debates gun control and shows what an arrogant idiot he is – he cannot even listen to what his guests are trying to tell him:
He even calls one man “unbelievably stupid”.
Pot, meet kettle.
Now, he even wants the Bible amended, as it is flawed, because he doesn’t agree with it, especially about gay marriage.
Talk about arrogance. No wonder there’s a petition to have him deported.
And it’s even funnier that his own countrymen don’t want him back.
I say, we take the difference between the two options and just drop him somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic. That should make people on both sides of the pond happy.

What an Idiot! Since we don’t want him an the old country doesn’t either, maybe we could send him to Cuba, that oughta’ be nice, safe and gun free.

I noticed that on am700 this morning they did not refer to the show as The Mack Show, but the morning show. I don’t think Mack is coming back.

Well, it’s official. You can now call me Crazy Grandma.
Well, come next June, anyway. -
You mean LD is “expecting?!” How did that happen, what has gotten into her?
Congratulations and may LD have an uneventful, peaceful pregnancy. -

I think that is self-explanatory, dude. 😀

Good morning, Hamsterville. I’ve been under the weather with a sinus infection. The sinus drainage had me coughing so much I feared I had broken a rib or two. Santa got a wild hair this year and decided I needed an electric blanket. That has worked out really well during the cold spell. I stayed in bed all day yesterday with the blanket on low. At night, toasty warm on setting #2.
-
Tedtam, are you ready to be a grandma? 🙂
-
I never quite finished being a mommy. I was born to nurture. I think my biggest frustration is not being able to be around the baby enough.

Richard K. Armey, the group’s chairman and a former House majority leader, walked into the group’s Capitol Hill offices with his wife, Susan, and an aide holstering a handgun at his waist. The aim was to seize control of the group and expel Armey’s enemies: The gun-wielding assistant escorted FreedomWorks’ top two employees off the premises, while Armey suspended several others who broke down in sobs at the news.

HEADLINE: ‘Brighter than a full moon’: The biggest star of 2013… could be the comet of the century
/snip
Comet Ison has taken millions of years to reach us travelling from the so-called Oort cloud – a reservoir of trillions and trillions of chunks of rock and ice, leftovers from the birth of the planets. It reaches out more than a light-year – a quarter of the way to the nearest star. In the Oort cloud the Sun is but a distant point of light whose feeble gravity is just enough to hold onto the cloud. Every once in a while a tiny tug of gravity, perhaps from a nearby star or wandering object, disturbs the cloud sending some of its comets out into interstellar space to be lost forever and a few are scattered sunward. Comet Ison is making its first, and perhaps only visit to us. Its life has been cold, frozen hard and unchanging, but it is moving closer to the Sun, and getting warmer.
Ison’s surface is very dark – darker than asphalt – pockmarked and dusty with ice beneath the surface. It’s a small body, a few tens of miles across, with a tiny pull of gravity. If you stood upon it you could leap 20 miles into space taking over a week to come down again, watching as the comet rotated beneath you. You could walk to the equator, kneel down and gather up handfuls of comet material to make snowballs, throw them in a direction against the comet’s spin and watch them hang motionless in front of you. But it will not remain quiet on Comet Ison for the Sun’s heat will bring it to life. -

a link from your link revealed thisArmey’s annual salary – from FreedomWorks Inc., a “social welfare” 501(c)(4), and the FreedomWorks Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable institution — was $500,000 in 2010. According to the AP, Armey’s agreed to resign with $8 million in consulting fees, paid in annual $400,000 installments by FreedomWorks donor and board member Richard Stephenson.
Heh heh HEH
Some tea party activists questioned Armey’s role in the movement, given his establishment origins. But the group amassed a membership in the hundreds of thousands and worked carefully to avoid the perception that Washington bureaucrats were calling the shots.
When the Tea Party first came into being as regular citizens, just plain old ordinary folks with no media or governmental sheepskins covering the wolves, it was a good thing. I cannot quantify the efficacy the Tea Party in the early days but it seems to me that it has greatly diminished when the likes of Armey, DAN PATRICK and others glommed on to it. It seems to me that the media like Glen Wrecked, Shawn Shamnisty and others turned the movement into a circus. It is funny to me how Shamnisty in particular arranged all these “Tea Party” concerts early on then media driven gatherings seemed to dwindle to nothing. Just another news cycle item passing away.
Felicia Cravens seemed very prescient when she voiced concerns over politicos and talking hacks attaching themselves to the Tea Party. “Fame” and success seems to strangling what was a good idea in the beginning. It was the uncertainty of what the “Tea Party” would do that gave them their power. Once the politicos and hacks joined in “that uncertainty” was removed.
Early on, David Benzion made an astute observation about how hard it is to keep a movement going on pure adrenalin, emotion and “fear”. Seems he was right. And I think with ObamasonCo returning to the oval office “fear” has been replaced with abject disillusionment in the ranks. (A little nod to Sarge) The Republican establishment got what it wanted in dividing the conservative base but it was not the “Republicans” that did it, the Tea Party did it to itself. -

If your comment doesn’t show up a human will have to clear it. Posting it again does no good. If it didn’t go through the first time it won’t go through subsequent times no matter how many times you post it. In fact, the logic used in determining whether a comment is spam or not may say “Hey, I was right. This guy is spam. He keeps posting the same thing over and over.” I cleared out five postings of the same comment the other day. A simple “post in the bucket” comment will help to notify one of the moderators to check.

I’m still amazed that anyone still gets outraged by what some talking head on the MSM says. How many years now have we dealt with outrageous comments from these people, thus reinforcing in their minds that (a) someone out there is still watching them and (b) that someone out there cares what they say. Want it to stop, then turn it off. That’s all there is to it, just hit the off button or unplug it from the wall. Networks, shows, and stars are rewarded based on one number and one number alone – viewership. If they can create a little controversy, sometimes it works to increase their viewership. Turn it off and they notice, otherwise, why waste the bandwidth?

You people don’t know nuthin’. This is where babies come from:

Again, keep in mind Dostoevsky penned these words in 1872. Great evils like tyrannical monarchies and human slave-trafficking had existed on planet earth since time began, but this devious mixture of both with a calculated and cavalier attitude toward human life startled those in the 19th century like Dostoevsky who first heard the schemes of the original community organizers (and had the good sense to believe that they’d carry out their plans should they ever gain power).
It’s very difficult for my generation – the current 18 to 35 demographic – to grasp just how much suffering and death and oppression took place in the 20th century. We do not receive a comprehensive version of history in our public schools and institutions of higher education that might shed critical light on ideologies many in academia support. And to be sure, we can’t count on Hollywood and the entertainment industry to pick up any such slack in the culture.
But this matters. Ideas have consequences. Tens of millions died in the last century because of evil ideas.
And if an epileptic, compulsive-gambling, ex-convict in Russia 150 years ago could so accurately peer into the murky future to warn us, the least we can do is simply turn around to take in the much clearer view from this side of world history. -

If Republicans were smart they would let the Socialists have what they want. All of it. Raise taxes on the “millionaires” that make $250,000. Increase government spending. Fully implement government-run health care. Raise the minimum wage to $25/hour. Vote “present” on all their legislation. Then sit back and watch it burn. Let’s get it over with now.

You should stop watching that crap. It’s a well known fact that reading and/or watching anything by Michael Moore will immediately result in a loss of 10 – 15 IQ points – every time! Watch him enough and you’ll be stupid enough to be a liberal. -

#39 Tedtam, That was GREAT!! Our X Acoustic Engineer (PHD) would have loved to tell you what was happening, (it would take him about 3 hours) and it has to do with harmonics/resonance and the additive effects of the motion of one metronome affecting the neighboring one, they were on a table, that was free to move a little so they synced up pretty fast.
This is neat, from the comments;People are acting like this is something amazing. It was bound to happen when they are all placed on an apparently easily swing chair looking thing. Try it again on something like a concrete floor and you will not see the same result.”
You are WRONG Metronome Breath! They would still sync up but it might take hours. 😀 Concrete is not as stiff as you think….Don’t believe me? Well hows’ about the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. 😉
-
Retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf dies at 78!! RIP He may be the last of the real Generals and he was a self-made man, got into West Point on his own, one of only about 10%. 🙁

If one were to have Metronome breath, how would one know?
-
Congrats Ms. TT, that is awesome! Just had lil’ granddaughter’s first Christmas and got to spend a lot of time with her, she raked in the stuff I tell ya – even though she had no clue. 😀

I am glad to live in a world where young thinkers like R.J. Moeller are still writing, and where I know people like Shannon who call his “Dostoevsky Was a Prophet” article to my attention. That same link has several other Moeller pieces that I’ll read when I get well. -
About resonance, we have a large 20′ X 40′ acoustic chamber with concrete walls designed to flex and resonate, adding energy to the spectrum. We only excite the horns with 25- 300 Hz and the walls add all the rest of the frequencies up to about 2500 Hz. When operating the horn modulators they draw X amount of current until the chamber gets to about 150 Db, then they draw less power because the walls are excited and adding their own power! Dang, Dammit, that is neat! I don’t care who you are. 😉

Retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf dies at 78!! RIP He may be the last of the real Generals and he was a self-made man, got into West Point on his own, one of only about 10%.While Gen. Schwarzkopf was indeed one of the best Generals this country has bee blessed with, a man who restored my faith in the US Army after having served in the cesspool of the 1970’s, saying he got into the USMA on his own is a bit of a stretch. His Father was a Graduate and quite the General himself. He Graduated USMA Class of 1917 as a 2nd Lt and returned from WW1 in 1919 in the rank of full Colonel with a Distinguished Service Medal and a Purple Heart. Between the wars, the politically well connected ex-Colonel was appointed to be the first director of the New Jersey State Police. He rose to the rank of Major General before retiring in 1953—the same year Norman Jr. entered West Point. Itb was also in that year that he was tasked by the CIA to convince Reza Pahlavi to return to Iran to become Shah in order to prevent that country from becoming a Soviet satellite.
Norman Jr. was probably one of the last “legacy” cadets, men who were scions of military families or politically well connected distinguished graduates, to attend the Academy. The Leftist demonization of all things military in the 1960s cooled the ardor of such young men and I often wonder whether doing so did more harm than good. -
Sarge, I guess that I could wrong, but I read his book and I knew that his dad was a general and served in the middle east where young Norman learned about the culture there. Stormin’ Norman said that when he got into the academy it was that 90 % got in on account of politics and 10 % on merit and I believed him when he said that he got in on his own (merit). ❓

DUDE We live in one very sick and scary society. Disturbing to say the least. The game page
“Lucius” Video Game Lets You Be The Antichrist” (The story)
Here is the summary of the game from the maker’s website:Lucius is the son of the devil who has to clear the mansion of its residents. To do this he must orchestrate “accidents” without anyone suspecting him of any foul play. The player starts as Lucius and must cleverly devise these incidents from simple household items. Every time he succeeds he will gain supernatural powers to help him take full control.
He was born on the 6th of June in 1966 and when he had lived his sixth year on earth, he finally started to show signs of his true origin. The mansion is full of unrevealed mysteries that paint a story behind the family and how it became tangled with evil, but what is already clear is that Lucifer had taken the soul of the boy and replaced it with his own blood.
It’s up to you to see that he cannot be stopped… -
Dave;
Schwarzkopf gained appointment to USMA through an Honors program open to graduates of Military Academies. He attended the Community High School in Tehran, later the International School of Geneva at La Châtaigneraie and attended and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy—all of which were open only to the children of well connected and affluent people. While he may have gone to his death thinking that he gained appointment to the Academy soley on his own achievement, I guarantee you that in 1952 the folks making the decision checked to see who his Daddy was and who Daddy knew.
This takes nothing away from his achievements both at the Academy and later in the military. It was just the facts of life at the time. In fact, Gen Schwarzkopf had something to do with reforming the entire process of creating and advancing officers in the Army that changed those facts. -
Congratulations TT on the coming elevation to Grandmother. Soon to be occasional little feet padding around the house that aren’t the cat’s. 🙂 May all go well.
