Erstwhile contributor Texpat forwarded me this video of The One For Whom We’ve Been Waiting speechifying about all the jobs he’s created. He also compares his record to that of his predecessor.
While he doesn’t exactly lie per se, he does carefully choose his data points such that his record compares favorably by choosing the only interval that gives him an advantage. In all other instances, his record is found wanting.
I realize that all politicians do this to one degree or another. Obama simply has to do things this way because that’s all he’s got.

How many centuries has it been since we’ve killed in the name of Jesus? Spanish Inquisition? I guess we had the Salem Witch Trials. In any case, I would say that Christians in general will evangelize and proselytize, but will stop far short of killing in the name of Jesus. From the headline at Drudge, we have this gem from the Independent.
“There were definitely people from the security forces who let the attack happen because they were themselves offended by the film; they would absolutely put their loyalty to the Prophet over the consulate. The deaths are all nothing compared to insulting the Prophet.”
The emphasis is mine and I really can not comment further since I am at a loss for words.

Well, speaking personally, I have never felt a need or desire to kill anyone in the name of my faith. This is in large part because my faith teaches that doing so is intrinsically evil and wrong.
In my faith I only worship God himself in the form of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and specifically not any human being, no matter how important to the revelation of or development of the faith any one person might have been.
I know that several of those whom we revere a saints had very sketchy and shady backgrounds (viz. St. Augustine of Hippo), but once God spoke to them, they left their wayward ways behind.
From what I understand, this is not the case with Mohammed, who continued to spread Islam by sword and encouraged his followers to do likewise. There is also ample evidence that Mo & his followers committed all kinds of despicable acts both before and after they received their “revelation”, yet not only are they still worshiped, the acts they committed remain looked upon with favor and are emulated by a large portion of the Muslim population. -
More evidence that our foreign policy is a muddled mess.
“I don’t think that we would consider [Egypt] an ally, but we don’t consider them an enemy,” Obama said.
Not that we needed any more such evidence…

The “film” was a handy pretext. The attacks were coordinated and conducted by heavily-armed “rebels”.
The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the “safe house” in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed “safe”.
Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.
According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and “lockdown”, under which movement is severely restricted. [emphasis mine]Yet another complete failure to properly spread vital information that got four people dead (so far). Some serious consequences need to be handed out to those in the US Government who failed to protect those who serve us.

Packers won over Da Bears last night 23-10. 🙂 Packers looked like the team from last year and not like last week. Da Bears didn’t look like they did last week according to the announcers. Now for the Texans to win again on Sunday to complete a happy week.
Our Lucerne that was in the wreck a week ago apparently has been declared likely too expensive to repair v. its market value. This is based upon speculation that there is damage that can’t be seen until repairs start that would cost more than its value. Sniff.
It was a good car that only had 50,000 miles on it at age 5 and had needed only minor repairs. We aren’t happy about shopping again because Buick foolishly stopped making the Lucerne, and there might not be many if any still available. -

Obama & his minions are feverishly trying to walk back the “Egypt isn’t an ally” statement. Despite the media cover he gets here, more and more is leaking through. It’s a torrent everywhere else.
NBC’s Richard Engel said in reply to a question from Chuck Todd about the statement:“Yeah, I almost had to sit down when I heard that. For the last forty years, the United States has had two main allies in the Middle East — Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the other ally in the Middle East being Israel. For the President to come out and say, well, he’s not exactly sure if Egypt is an ally any more but it’s not an enemy, that is a significant change in the perspective of Washington toward this country, the biggest country in the Arab world. “

As WB reports in #27 above, evil will always sense weakness and move on it. They are assured that the worst that can happen to them is an apology from us, so they have no limits as to how much they can escalate. They also know Israel is exposed, so this may be a little distraction to pull our focus off the main event still yet to come. The only thing those barbarians understand is a show of strength, and the longer we wait, the longer it will continue to escalate. Sad but true.

WH Spokesidiot Jay Carney is now maintaining that the uproar in the greater Middle East is not directed at the US per se, but is in response to a viseo that has been around for several months.
We also need to understand that this is a fairly volatile situation and it is in response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration, or the American people, but it is in response to a video, a film that we have judged to be be reprehensible and disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it, but this is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims.

It appears that the last intel briefing the President attended was on September 5 – IOW almost a week before the embassy attacks happened.
n.b. – he didn’t attend on Wed (day after) either. He canceled so he could meet with State Dept employees (no problem there), but did not see fit to reschedule because he had to make it to Las Vegas in time.
Yet his fanboys are defending him in the comments by saying that he doesn’t need to meet; he just has the hardcopy delivered to the residence. -

Yes, our government even issued apologies over and sympathies for the hurt feelings of those burning our embassies and killing our Ambassador, while condemning the resulting violence. We are, once again, hostage to the hurt feelings of those with perpetually hurt feelings, and we will sympathize with them so long as they don’t go that last step and actually pull the trigger.
Life with a hurt feelings gun to our head begging that the trigger not be pulled is the change we apparently were waiting for.
Talk about perverse ironies. This all comes from an administration and political party backed by people who regularly denigrate Christianity, and who are running a campaign focused on forcing American Catholics to abandon their religious principles and to cast aside their hurt feelings on issues of life. -
Well folks, I guess we were fortunate to visit Tunisia almost a year ago and see the ruins of Carthage and the Roman Empire’s footprint there. And the subsequent centuries of cultural and economic mix between Europe and the Arab world, largely the result of commerce and colonialism. Bet the only two cruise lines that stopped there last year will skip Tunis this year now if they haven’t aleady. The other lines that customarily stopped there gave up after the government change and aftermath in the beginning of Obama’s mythical “Arab Spring.” The blow to the economy there was tremendous, as tourism was a large industry. Unemployment was at least 25% then, but now…. It was the most westernized country in North Africa.
I grieve for our highly educated guide and the good people we met there, for their hopes to keep the lid on their country are dashed. The Muslim Brotherhood is now in control through elections leading to dominating coalitions. 🙁 -
This may offend the Muslims, but they need to get the message.

I never thought Kansas would be the first.
Three of the state’s top elected Republicans on Thursday determined they lacked sufficient evidence of President Barack Obama’s birth records to decide whether to remove the Democratic nominee from the November ballot in Kansas.
The State Objections Board comprised of Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer postponed until Monday action on a complaint filed by a Manhattan resident pending review of a copy of Obama’s birth certificate from Hawaii.Joe Montgomery, who filed the ballot challenge with the all-Republican panel, said the president’s father held British and Kenyan citizenship, making Obama ineligible to run for the nation’s highest office.
Montgomery pointed to a handful of U.S. Supreme Court cases to support his claim a presidential candidate must be a “natural born citizen” from two American citizens. In Montgomery’s written complaint, he declared “there is substantial evidence showing that much of Mr. Obama’s alleged birth certificates have been forged or doctored, and have not been confirmed as legally valid, true and accurate.”
Well, THIS won’t be reported on the national news. I always thought Arizona would be the first to declare Obama persona non grata on the ballot.

Did anyone hear about this, which I received in an email tonight?
A county judge in Wisconsin on Friday struck down much of the 2011 state law pushed through by Gov. Scott Walker that severely restricts the ability of public employees to bargain collectively. Judge Juan B. Colás of Dane County Circuit Court overturned the law with regard to city, county and school district workers — although not state employees — ruling that it violated the federal and state Constitutions.

We rented our unit today. The guy is in his early 30’s, was assigned to a SEAL team at one time, joined the Army after 9/11. All the time I was calculating numbers and reviewing his paperwork, he kept walking around the unit, touching things and asking questions. He just could NOT stand still.
I have a hard enough time with doing math in my head, especially tired and with a headache, and his constant distractions didn’t make it any easier.

The guy is in his early 30′s, was assigned to a SEAL team at one time, joined the Army after 9/11.
Early thirties makes him born around 1978—-puts him military age in 1996. Sez he was a SEAL, but joined the Army after 9/11/01.
That just don’t track, its barely possible. In 2001, he’d be about a year or two from the end of his first enlistment (which is four years. plus two in the inactive reserve). The Navy generally doesn’t run someone through BUDS and then SEALS training during thier first enlistment, and I think it likely they would make someone sign a re-enlistment contract if he was anywhere near ETS when he completed the training. He’d have to have at least 6 years service, plus a year or so out to be eligible to enlist in a different service in 2001.
He just ain’t been alive long enough to do both. -
I was assuming he could have been a SOAR liaison.
Or the story got twisted in the transliteration. -

I never thought Kansas would be the first.
After the laughter died down, the poor knucklehead who objected withdrew his objection. But have no fear, there are many who can take his place.
On Thursday, Kobach was the most prominent advocate on the Kansas Objections Board for issuing a request to Hawaii, Arizona and Mississippi for birth records on Obama.
A subpoena to Orly Taitz would provide a Master of Ceremonies.

I got the impression he may have been in some kind of support role for SEAL. He also said that he was able to skip some of the Army basic training.
I was somewhat suspicious of his story, but as long as he pays the rent, he can be as delusional as he wants. He does look like he’s in great shape, so I don’t doubt -
