Forty-three years ago, 400,000 free spirits descended on a 600-acre dairy farm in Upstate New York for an “art and music fair”.

It was not all fun and games.

Living conditions were somewhat spartan.

Some things never change. They care for the environment, but only if they can force someone else to actually do the work or pay the tab.
