Despite the persistent lies of the President and his fellow extortionists on Capitol Hill, Commisar Sebelius of Health & Human Services has issued final rules for tax-payer funded abortions for all who want it under Obamacare.

The Department of Health and Human Services has issued a final rule regarding establishment of the state health care exchanges required under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

As a knowledgeable pro-life source on Capitol Hill informed LifeNews, as authorized by Obamacare, โ€œthe final rule provides for taxpayer funding of insurance coverage that includes elective abortionโ€ and the change to longstanding law prohibiting virtually all direct taxpayer funding of abortions (the Hyde Amendment) is accomplished through an accounting arrangement described in the Affordable Care Act and reiterated in the final rule issued today.

Since last Friday, Islamic Jihad terrorists in Gaza have fired more than 130 rockets into civilian areas of Israel. The IDF has retaliated in self-defense, but this is how it is characterized in the American mainstream media.

Jeff Dunetz at Yid With Lid notes the following:

And for those of you thinking “et tu Foxte?” The days of Fox news being fair to Israel ended when Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal purchased a 7 percent stake in News Corp making him the largest shareholder outside Rupert Murdoch’s family. For those who may not remember bin Talal is the guy who offered to give New York City ten million dollars right after 9/11. His offer was refused by Mayor Giuliani because the Prince made a public declaration, blaming 9/11 on Israel.

Since Israel began retaliating for this week’s rocket attacks, 16 terrorists were killed and sadly, two civilians. Fellow blogger Challah Hu Akbar details who was killed and the (mostly Palestinian) sources naming them as members of terrorist groups.

I am reminded how the Israelites had God’s favor, then lost it through their iniquities until they were sufficiently humbled and repented of their evil ways. At that point, they regained God’s favor and grew strong once again. This cycle repeats itself several times in the Old Testament.

Are we seeing something similar here?

Justice Department rejects Texas’ voter ID law
    By Gary Scharrer
    Updated 09:40 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012
    Houston and Texas

Texas’ ID law requires one of the following types of ID: 1 Texas driver’s license 1 Department of Public Safety-issued personal ID card 1 U.S. military ID card with photograph 1 U.S. citizenship certificate with photograph 1 U.S. passport 1 DPS-issued concealed handgun permit

AUSTIN – A federal court in Washington will now decide whether Texas can enforce its new voter ID law after the U.S. Justice Department on Monday rejected the measure, saying state leaders failed to prove it would not discriminate against minority voters.

“According to the state’s own data, a Hispanic registered voter is at least 46.5 percent, and potentially 120 percent, more likely than a non-Hispanic registered voter to lack this identification,” Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez said in a letter to Texas Elections Director Keith Ingram. “Even using the data most favorable to the state, Hispanics disproportionately lack either a driver’s license or a personal identification card issued by DPS, and that disparity is statistically significant.”

The federal panel will take up the law later this year. It will not be enforced for the May 29 primary.

    http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Justice-Department-rejects-Texas-voter-ID-law-3401087.php

If Perez is correct, that lack of state-issued photo ID is 20% more likely to disenfranchise minorities from their right to vote, why would we not also believe it would have a similar effect on their right to purchase a firearm, as specified on ATFโ€™s Form 4473 requiring a driverโ€™s license or โ€œvalid government issued photo identification,โ€ and similar forms as proof of eligibility?

They canโ€™t have it both ways. By their own admission and actions, they consider a requirement to produce official photo identification as discriminatory, with a significant statistical impact on the enfranchisement of minority rights.

Excellent point. It should also be pointed out the original gun control laws were conceived as a way to keep black Americans from being able to defend themselves.

The National Black Republican Association reports on the 2010 McDonald vs City of Chicago ruling:

Cited by the Court in the McDonald case, as an example of such a discriminatory code, is the Mississippi law that stated: “no freedman, free negro or mulatto, not in the military service of the United States government, and not licensed so to do by the board of police of his or her county, shall keep or carry fire-arms of any kind, or any ammunition, dirk or bowie knife.” In one Southern town, according to the Supreme Court, the marshal confiscated the weapons of the returning black Union soldiers and, at every opportunity, promptly shot black people.

The Court’s McDonald decision records that: “Throughout the South, armed parties, often consisting of ex-Confederate soldiers serving in the state militias, forcibly took firearms from newly freed slaves”. In his book about Reconstruction, Dr. Foner revealed that in 1866, the Ku Klux Klan was started as a Tennessee social club. The Klan then became a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party and spread into other Southern States, launching a “reign of terror” against Republican leaders, black and white. The Klan would “order the colored men to give up their arms; saying that everybody would be Kukluxed in whose house fire-arms were found”.

Republican Senator Samuel Pomeroy described three “indispensable” “safeguards of liberty under our form of Government”, one of which was the right to keep and bear arms. Pomeroy said: “Every man . . . should have the right to bear arms for the defense of himself and family and his homestead. And if the cabin door of the freedman is broken open and the intruder enters for purposes as vile as were known to slavery, then should a well-loaded musket be in the hand of the occupant to send the polluted wretch to another world, where his wretchedness will forever remain complete”.

Live and let live, or to phrase it a little differently don’t start no stuff and there won’t be any. The libs would have us call the police and wait for help (hoping that they will get there while we are still alive) instead of dispatching the evildoers forthwith.

I ordered Lovely’s bridal shower invitations yesterday. Got quite a deal from Cardstore.com. I input 32 names and addresses for her customized invitations. Ordered about 16 extra for hand delivery, lost/forgotten, etc. I got a volume discount for ordering more than 20 cards, which brought the cost down to 99 cents each. I chose to let the company print and mail the 32 for me for which I had addresses. The others will be delivered to my home. I went to RetailMeNot.com and found a promotional code that gave me an additional 30% off.

All told, including the postage, I paid around $33 for all of the invitations, including the addressing and postage to deliver them. Not too bad.

Now I have to clean the house. That will be considerably more difficult! ๐Ÿ™‚

People everywhere will reach the breaking point in their struggle for freedom.

These brave Chinese citizens expelled their local Party leaders and their henchmen, the police, and then held off the People’s Liberation Army from entering their city for over two months. A few days ago, they held their own free elections for new leadership.

Sixty-six years ago, the people of Athens and Etowah in McMinn County, Tennessee staged an armed revolt, laid seige to the county courthouse to retrieve the ballot boxes in an election from a hugely corrupt local government.

Hallmark made a movie in 1995, An American Story, set in Texas, but based entirely on the events in the Battle of Athens.

From Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership:

These Americans’ absolute refusal to knuckle under had been hardened by service in World War II. Having fought to free other countries from murderous regimes, they rejected vicious abuse by their county government.

These Americans had a choice. Their state’s Constitution — Article 1, Section 26 — recorded their right to keep and bear arms for the common defense. Few “gun control” laws had been enacted.

These Americans were residents of McMinn County, which is located between Chattanooga and Knoxville in Eastern Tennessee. The two main towns were Athens and Etowah. McMinn County residents had long been independent political thinkers. For a long time they also had: accepted bribe-taking by politicians and/or the sheriff to overlook illicit whiskey-making and gambling; financed the sheriff’s department from fines-usually for speeding or public drunkenness which promoted false arrests; and put up with voting fraud by both Democrats and Republicans.

The wealthy Cantrell family, of Etowah, backed Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1932 election, hoping New Deal programs would revive the local economy and help Democrats to replace Republicans in the county government. So it proved.

Paul Cantrell was elected sheriff in the 1936,1938 and 1940 elections, but by slim margins. The sheriff was the key county official. Cantrell was elected to the state senate in 1942 and 1944; his chief deputy, Pat Mansfield, was elected sheriff. In 1946 Paul Cantrell again sought the sheriff’s office.

At the end of 1945, some 3,000 battle-hardened veterans returned to McMinn County; the GIs held Cantrell politically responsible for Mansfield’s doings. Early in 1946, some newly returned ex-GIs decided to challenge Cantrell politically by offering an all-ex-GI, non-partisan ticket. They promised a fraud-free election, stating in ads and speeches that there would be an honest ballot count and reform of county government.

A number of contemporary news articles are also reprinted at the JFPO site including an op-ed from Eleanor Roosevelt, an armed woman herself, who endorsed the actions taken by citizens in McMinn County.

If you are an Oil and Gas Journal subscriber, the article starting on page 32, of the 05Mar2012 issue is interesting, particularly the “Jekyll and Hyde” section on p. 34.
    From that article:

“unfortunately the president’s skewed idea of an all-of-the-above energy plan ensures that un-elected Washington bureaucrats can determine, through massive tax hikes and taxpayer handouts, which forms of American energy should win and which should lose”

The quote was from Barry Russell, President of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
One could substitute the phrase private business for energy and the concept would still hold true. This has already happened in the financial sector as well as automotive.

#35 This pipe was in use for over 30 years with 0 maintenance, one of the upstream entities was a slaughterhouse or some sort of meat processing facility. There was hard cake about 8″ thick on the bottom and tapering to 3″ on the top that had to be chipped out with an air chisel, the chips were removed via vacuum line. The cake formed a time capsule of sorts, there were virtually intact Wilkinson stainless steel safety razor blades, hypodermic needles, silverware, toys, all sorts of stuff encased in the cake. Even though the flow was shut off and diverted, it was always wet and had to be force ventilated to keep the H2S down to a minimum, and yes it stunk.

Good afternoon Hamsters. No fog this morning, just humidity and 68 at 6, semi-mugly with condensation on the concrete surfaces and dew all over the rest of the outside world. The weekend generous rainfall has soaked in but left enough mud now to require a few warm days to dry. No gardening until late in the week, and before that a few more bushels of live oak leaves will need to be swept off patio, porch, and walkways. The rain of leaves might be winding down–I hope.

Spouse’s brother and wife arrive Thursday afternoon from Madison, and it looks as though they will enjoy some warm weather while here. The weather in Wisconsin in March is typically not marvelous, and there is always the likelihood of the St. Patrick’s Day week blizzard showing up. This usually coincides with the state high-school basketball tournament in Madison. So their choice of travel dates has method. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a question that I hope someone here can answer for me:

We have a mixup in two meters on one of our properties. The B unit meter runs to our B unit, but it has the C unit address.

The C unit meter runs to C unit, but it has the B unit address.

I’ve called the power distributor and verified the meter numbers and ESI ID numbers. The addresses for the meters are backwards: the B meter has the C unit address, and vice versa.

Question: Does the ESI ID number go with the meter, or with the junction? If we flip the meters and relabel the panels to match, which our electrician can do, are we screwing up the relationship between ESI ID, meter, and street address? The electrician thinks that flipping the meters and relabeling will solve our problem. I just don’t want to make the problem worse.

Inquiring minds NEED to know. My research so far has not turned up the answer I need. All I can find is “call your provider to get your ESIID” or “it can be found on your bill”.

Random thoughts from the inimitable Frank J. Fleming, author of Obama: The Greatest President in the History of Everything and founder of the website, IMAO.us.

    * Have you noticed how about 95% of modern feminism is about contraception and abortion? i.e., most of feminism is about being able to have consequence free sex โ€” so itโ€™s feminism as designed by horny teenage boys.

Also, have you noticed how most of the women shrieking about how the Republicans want to control their bodies are people who no one wants to touch their bodies with ten foot poles?

    Just observations.

    * Eric Holder is opposing the Texas voter ID law because he says itโ€™s harmful to Hispanics. Being a racist, you may think minorities are like anyone else and that getting a photo id would be an extremely simple thing for them as it is for everyone, but progressives want you to know that minorities find things that are simple to white people to be extremely confusing and complicated. An Hispanic getting a photo ID? Thatโ€™s like teaching a dog to walk on its hind legs, apparently.

Photo IDs are used for tons of things in every day life; instead of these voting laws, shouldnโ€™t we be focused on helping the people who somehow have trouble getting a photo ID get one?

    * Also, have you noticed how Democrats try to claim Republicans are the stupid ones, yet the Democratsโ€™ reelection strategies all seem to be about getting as many uninformed people to the polls as possible?

    * Wisdom of the Day from La Shawn Barber:

Next time pharmacy person at CVS asks to see my photo ID when I buy pseudoephedrine, Iโ€™m gonna shout, โ€œJim Crow has returned!โ€

But in TexCan’s #43 video, those seemed to be Hispanics, and they taught that dog not only to walk on its hind legs, it was wearing a skirt and doing the Cha-Cha.

Interpol busts the internet file-sharing mogul, Kim Dotcom, in New Zealand on US federal criminal warrants and now it seems a bunch of federal officials and Department of Justice employees have, you guessed it, MegaUpload accounts !

โ€œGuess what โ€“ we found a large number of Mega accounts from U.S. Government officials including the Department of Justice and the U.S. Senate,โ€ Dotcom told TorrentFreak. โ€œI hope we will soon have permission to give them and the rest of our users access to their files.โ€ A big part of MegaUploadโ€™s defense has been the siteโ€™s perfectly legal uses, like sending files across the globe, for example. A big part of the DoJโ€™s case against MegaUpload has been their allegations that the site was little more than a harbor for pirates and that MegaUpload specifically catered to these infringers. The existence of DoJ MegaUpload accounts definitely complicates the black and white nature of that argument.

Now, how do they know these accounts belong to government officials? Neither Dotcom or MegaUpload lawyers have explained, but itโ€™s pretty reasonably to assume that the government officials in question used their .gov email addresses to register their accounts. After all, thatโ€™s how hackers found out that plenty of government official have accounts at the porn site DigitalPlayground. This isnโ€™t damning or anything, after all, MegaUpload did have perfectly valid file-sharing uses. The extent to which it is damning is that it sort of makes it tough for the DoJ to make the argument that MegaUpload was nothing but a pure infringement engine without admitting that they were part of it. Granted, this could be overcome with a little hypocrisy and refusal to address the existence of those accounts and what that means, a tactic which is far from out of the question.

    Mystery solved.

Tide has become a form of currency on the streets. The retail price is steadily high — roughly $10 to $20 a bottle — and it’s a staple in households across socioeconomic classes.

Tide can go for $5 to $10 a bottle on the black market, authorities say, and some thieves even resell it to stores.

“There’s no serial numbers and it’s impossible to track,” said Detective Larry Patterson of the Somerset, Ky., Police Department, where authorities have seen a huge spike in Tide theft. “It’s the item to steal.”

Police say thieves target the Procter & Gamble detergent because it is the most popular and, with its Day-Glo orange logo, the most recognizable.

George Cohen, spokesman for Philadelphia-based Checkpoint Systems, which produces alarms being tested on Tide in CVS stores, said, “Name brands are easier to resell.

    and this,

“They’ll do it right in front of a cop car — buying heroin or methamphetamine with Tide,” said Detective Rick Blake of the Gresham Police Department. “We would see people walking down the road with six, seven bottles of Tide. They were so blatant about it.”

Somewhere along the line, when TNMP came out to install the meters, they got switched or sumpin’. Our electrician says he can switch the meters back without a problem.

After surfing the internet for days to locate the perfect Valentine’s Day oven for for Mrs. Shamaal, I sent her up to the GE repair place to pick up a brand new $40 element to replace the burnt out one. The minimum wait for a new oven is 2 – 3 weeks and Mrs. Shamaal can’t go go that long without her DiGiorno.

Prices for the same oven model ranged from $1200 for the cheapest one on the internet to $1600 to special order at the local stores. The cheap one on the internet wanted money now and 4 weeks to reply if it was available. One observation – Texas stores and coffers are taking a beating from out of state sellers.

Tell BoBo thanks for the info and I’ll check it out this week. Also, he can ignore Ms Harper, ever since that house fell on her sister, she has been insufferable. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Apparently these folks believe the common conservative is unable to read legislation by themselves and requires the services of “a knowledgeable pro-life source on Capitol Hill” to translate for them Incidently note that the final rule referenced contains comments and response, hence the large file.
Feel free to do a search on the word abortion to support or refute my comments.

This codification includes the non-discrimination clause for providers and facilities, a voluntary choice clause for issuers with respect to abortion services, the standards for the segregation of funds for QHP issuers that elect to cover abortion services for which public funding is prohibited, and the associated communication standards related to such services.
A QHP (qualified Health Plan) issuer must comply with a State law that prohibits abortion coverage in QHPs.
    (e) Prohibition on the use of Federal funds. (1) If a QHP provides coverage of services described in paragraph (d)(1) of this section, the QHP issuer must not use any amount attributable to any of the following for the purposes of paying for such services:
    (d) Abortion services. (1) Abortions for which public funding is prohibited. The services described in this paragraph are abortion services for which the expenditure of Federal funds appropriated for HHS is not permitted, based on the law in effect 6 months before the beginning of the plan year involved.
No discrimination on basis of provision of abortion. No QHP offered through an
Exchange may discriminate against any individual health care provider or health care facility
because of its unwillingness to provide, pay for, provide coverage of, or refer for abortions.
    (h) Application of State and Federal laws regarding abortions. (1) No preemption of
State laws regarding abortion. Nothing in the Affordable Care Act shall be construed to preempt or otherwise have any effect on State laws regarding the prohibition of (or requirement of) coverage, funding, or procedural requirements on abortions, including parental notification or consent for the performance of an abortion on a minor.

You get the idea, no where is there a mention of a $1 surcharge.

The longest warship in the world, and incidentally my home for two WestPacs, the USS Enterprise is on her final deployment. She returns in December, then gets towed to Washington to be scrapped.
A fine picture of the bow, you can see the solitary torpedo tube between the hawesholes and the catapult bridle arresters.

Real salt of the Earth, that man is.

Oh, you must be talking about John Podesta, the man who runs your source, Center for American Progress.

    A few of his friends…

George Soros, Hillary, Willie Jeff, John Kerry, Durbin, Morton Halperin, Patrick Leahy, Dukakis, Tom Daschle – a bunch of disgusting old gasbags. But they’re very rich and powerful off the backs of the American people.

    From our friends at Wikipedia:

The Center for American Progress is a progressive public policy research and advocacy organization. Its website states that the organization is “dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action.”

Speaking of Swift Boat Johnny, he and Bazooka Joe Biden held a fundraiser at Johnny and Cruella’s house. Joey had this to say:

โ€œThese guys [Republicans] donโ€™t have a sense of the average folks out there,โ€ he said. โ€œThey donโ€™t know what it means to be middle class.โ€

Unlike Joe, I guess. A true man of the people.

Biden made the remarks at the Georgetown home of Senator John Kerry, where some 87 guests paid a minimum of $10,000 per couple to dine on char-grilled grass-fed New York strip steaks and white truffle mashed potatoes beneath a tent basked in soft pink lighting.

Dang. I thought maybe I was at least lower middle class. I must be in abject poverty.

Great ship, I never regretted a moment. I kick myself that during two cruises I only shot one roll of film. It just didn’t dawn on me that their were folks someday who’d be interested in F4 catapult shots in afterburner. Nobody cares about Mk82s, Rockeyes and other pieces of ordnance that were a part of daily life.
The most boring parts were the times spent stateside cold-iron. No flight deck or combat pay. boring carrier qualifications eating C-Rats. But once on the line on Yankee Station, we ruled.

Airedale, ships company. V-2 division – Catapults, Arresting Gear, Pilot Landing Aids Television/Fresnel Lens Optical Landing System (PLAT/Lens) – Green Shirts.

Your friend was in service when the A5 Vigilantes were still around, probably VAH7 squadron. That was the Navy’s nuclear attack plane to replace the A3 Whales.
By my day, 1971, the attack versions were converted to reconnaissance versions. RA5C Vigilantes were the prettiest planes on the flight deck and in the air. Maintenance nightmares relying on relay logic to operate.
