    Something to think about.
The United States is par excellence a country where public opinion plays an important role, inspiring, orienting, controlling the policy of the nation. Nothing can be achieved or endure without it, and its veto is final. It is characterized by the fact that it is both more spontaneous than anywhere else in the world and also more easily directed by efficient propaganda technique than in any other country

“[The Administrative Office of the Courts] is contacting all judges and justices to gather data on race/ethnicity, gender identification, and sexual orientation,” reads an email sent by Romunda Price of the Administrative Office of the Courts. A copy of Price’s memo was obtained by THE WEEKLY STANDARD.

“Providing complete and accurate aggregate demographic data is crucial to garnering continuing legislative support for securing critically needed judgeships,” Price writes.

The process of self-revealing one’s sexual orientation is an element of a now yearly process. “To ensure that the AOC reports accurate data and to avoid the need to ask all judges to provide this information on an annual basis, the questionnaire asks that names be provided. The AOC, however, will release only aggregate statistical information, by jurisdiction, as required by the Government Code and will not identify any specific justice or judge.”

This is the present day fresh hell created by the Fascist Progressives of California.

If you want to be a judge or justice in that state, you are now required to divulge you “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” annually, just in case you suddenly decide to pretend to be something you are not.

    Ummmm yuh think?

Israel’s only remaining hope is that Obama will lose the election and be replaced by the Republicans. The only time when the extremist Iranian leadership decided to suspend its nuclear program was 2003, after the US invaded Iraq, because Tehran truly believed a Republican president‘s warnings that it will be attacked next.

Problem with that statement is the only person I can see in the “R”ace with the rooster fritters to call Iran on to the carpet is Newt and he is skidding over the cliff.

Re the “civilian” shootings in afcrappystan: A US soldier is accused of shooting afcrappystan civilians, however, couldn’t those who got shot simply be jihadis hiding behind children? Were those who got shot actively helping the tallywhackersban in their unending assault against the US soldiers? Just because they weren’t wearing uniforms doesn’t mean they weren’t enemy combatants. I do not KNOW what happened over there and neither does anyone else over here. I would suspect that the spin machine is going full speed now and the truth will be the casualty.

    An interesting piece on Creativity…

Such solutions are known as “mental restructurings,” since the problem is only solved after someone asks a completely new kind of question. What’s interesting is that expertise can inhibit such restructurings, making it harder to find the breakthrough. That’s why it’s important not just to bring new ideas back to your own field, but to actually try to solve problems in other fields—where your status as an outsider, and ability to ask naive questions, can be a tremendous advantage.

This principle is at work daily on InnoCentive, a crowdsourcing website for difficult scientific questions. The structure of the site is simple: Companies post their hardest R&D problems, attaching a monetary reward to each “challenge.” The site features problems from hundreds of organization in eight different scientific categories, from agricultural science to mathematics. The challenges on the site are incredibly varied and include everything from a multinational food company looking for a “Reduced Fat Chocolate-Flavored Compound Coating” to an electronics firm trying to design a solar-powered computer.

The most impressive thing about InnoCentive, however, is its effectiveness. In 2007, Karim Lakhani, a professor at the Harvard Business School, began analyzing hundreds of challenges posted on the site. According to Mr. Lakhani’s data, nearly 30% of the difficult problems posted on InnoCentive were solved within six months. Sometimes, the problems were solved within days of being posted online. The secret was outsider thinking: The problem solvers on InnoCentive were most effective at the margins of their own fields. Chemists didn’t solve chemistry problems; they solved molecular biology problems. And vice versa. While these people were close enough to understand the challenge, they weren’t so close that their knowledge held them back, causing them to run into the same stumbling blocks that held back their more expert peers.

#30 The soldier acted alone and then turned himself in. The officers are playing CYA as they know the potential repercussions that may follow.
Like I said before, just because those who got killed weren’t wearing uniforms DOES NOT mean that they weren’t actively involved in killing our soldiers. The guy could have simply twisted off, I don’t know and neither do you. If the combatants and ROE are as poorly described and dangerous to our troops as now as they were during Viet Nam, how can you blame the guy? Official US policy is at conflict with itself, one part wants to reach out to the Taliban and the other is hunting them. We are dealing with a culture that thinks it is OK to sell their sons into the hands of pederasts, and those pederasts boast at how attractive their victim is, why the wiss are we there in the first place? Why did we start the fight to try and change their culture instead of utterly defeating them; it is pc madness plain and simple.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, I know that we do not now and likely will never have all the pertinent details; to simply call the soldier a nutcase or a murderer is a knee-jerk response.

It’s as cut-and-dry as it gets in war. Soldier sneaks out in the middle of the night, on his own, and begins shooting into civilian houses, killing numerous children. Those are uncontested facts. The Afghani proclivity towards pederasty is immaterial. “They were going to be molested by their fellow countrymen anyway” is not a valid excuse for shooting children.

I’ve always prided myself as a conservative because we don’t – as a group – make excuses for the misbehavior of our people. Let the libs claim that the Clinton impeachment was “all about sex” and not Clinton lying to a federal judge. Let the libs misdirect and lie about what Obama’s doing.
    We are better than that.

The mental insanity it takes to murder nine children sleeping in their own beds is as foreign to me as the utter moral bankruptcy it takes to say:

If the combatants and ROE are as poorly described and dangerous to our troops as now as they were during Viet Nam, how can you blame the guy?

    and this:

The guy could have simply twisted off, I don’t know and neither do you.

Yes, I do know, damn it. The man went crazy and to deny it is to offer justification for evil.

I am waiting to hear more about this 38 year old SSgt with three tours in Iran and now almost one in Iran. There is more to the story on this soldier. Normally, a soldier with that much time in the service would be higher in rank; especially if he had even modest combat experience.

The guy snapped and whatever the reason he will have to pay the piper.

Black panthers intimidating voters is okay, but have to show ID, no way.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department’s civil rights division on Monday objected to a new photo ID requirement for voters in Texas because many Hispanic voters lack state-issued identification.

Texas follows South Carolina as the second state in recent months to become embroiled in a court battle with the Justice Department over new photo ID requirements for voters.

Photo ID laws have become a point of contention in the 2012 elections. Liberal groups have said the requirements are the product of Republican-controlled state governments and are aimed at disenfranchising people who tend to vote Democratic — African-Americans, Hispanics, people of low-income and college students.

There is not a college that I know of that doesn’t issue a photo student ID. Of course we know that low income people don’t buy cigarettes or beer, so they wouldn’t need ID’s for those things.

Hey Al I think those IDs have to be government issued. You could make the argument about a public university being a government entity, but I think that is a stretch. In any case, it is very easy to go down to the DPS, show your documentation, get your photo snapped, pay your $10 – $15, and be on your merry way. I truly do not see what the fuss is all about… ok, I do know it is all about perpetuating voter fraud.

Fog was so thick until about 10 that we couldn’t see the house across the back pasture or the one in front, and the mares essentially disappeared in the pasture. Got 3.15″ since Friday afternoon. propaganda |ˌpräpəˈgandə| noun
1 chiefly information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view:

When one takes into account the amount of advertising propaganda alone, my statement rings true.

When one considers that most news outlets are basically owned and controlled by 4 companies representing 2 sides of the coin (and I, at times, have my doubts about Fox) that get talking points from Washington daily my statement still holds true. This country is clearly divided along 2 party lines. Both sides work hard to “spin” the news and they do a fine job of doing it too, my statement still holds true. All the alphabet stations report the same thing over the day. They all have the same format and they all follow the same scripts of what is presented when. And if you will take a a glance even the commercials are timed pretty much in sync, my statement still holds true. Even the talk show hosts take their cues form the national news outlets. Now why do you think that is?

Concerning amnesty. It got shot down ONCE. Amnesty still looms over the horizon and I dare guess it will always loom over the horizon because it is a great campaign issue for both sides at any given time. And that one shot at amnesty just proved my other point in my statement:

public opinion plays an important role, inspiring, orienting, controlling the policy of the nation. Nothing can be achieved or endure without it, and its veto is final.

now-a-days final is a subjective quantity.

There is NO set of conceivable facts that would excuse the random killing of 16 civilians.

I have not yet seen anything that stated that it was or was not random. What if it was not random, what if they really were assisting in placing roadside bombs, etc, would that change things for you, it certainly would for me. Like I said earlier, I do not know all the facts and neither do you, I think it makes sense to keep power dry and wait for more info before jumping to a conclusion. I defy you to show me where I state in any way that this is what I think about the situation, how I in any way condone the behavior – based on the information we have now.

Let’s just say for discussion purposes (I have no knowledge of this one way or the other), that the guy has had mental episodes in the past and was again put in the line of fire as opposed to being shipped out of theater. If he then twists off again and murders innocents, don’t his commanding officers bear some of the responsibility for keeping a known unstable soldier in theater? For them to then close ranks would be a CYA move, would it not?
Just to be wissin sure we are on the same page, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND AM NOT DRAWING ANY CONCLUSIONS, I AM ONLY ASKING QUESTIONS!

Like it or not, you continue to try to present scenarios in which more people are culpable and the military is at least partially to blame. I (and apparently the rest of the posters here) am more than willing to let the actions of the shooter stand on their own, absent additional information.

And, just so we’re clear here,

If the combatants and ROE are as poorly described and dangerous to our troops as now as they were during Viet Nam, how can you blame the guy?

This is drawing a conclusion – and a dangerously deluded one at that. This statement tries to justify a murder’s actions.

to simply call the soldier a nutcase or a murderer is a knee-jerk response.

To conclude anything else, given the available information, is also a knee-jerk response – the response of a wild-eyed, conspiracy theory, fruit bat, wacko.

Do you all believe everything you read with out question? What part do you not understand about I do not condone the killing of children? What part do you not understand about I am not now nor have I drawn any conclusions on the matter, I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION!

Why don’t you present a scenario that would justify shooting a nine year old little boy while he was asleep.

I never even attempted to do so as I do not condone that behavior.
If that boy was awake and shooting at you would you shoot back or would you let him kill you because he is just a boy?
Before you state that I am trying to equate the two, I am not, in any way. How about you are taking fire from inside a house and you are on the outside, you lob a grenade in there to get the shooter and he has 6 children in the room with him, used as shields (that you did not know were there) are you then guilty of killing the children or are they casualties of war; either way is sucks because innocent children get killed but should the soldier protecting his life and those in his squad be charged with murder?
You can only imagine how it could easily be spun by a military hating media into how the soldier ruthlessly killed an innocent family. I tried to ask the questions so that we could look at a bigger picture and see all the other influences at play, namely are we getting all the pertinent facts. I do not know the answer to that question, nor do I condone the killing of innocents, nor have I drawn absolute conclusions.

Could be yes or no, I do not know nor did I imply either, the same applies to all the questions you highlighted except for this one:

We are dealing with a culture that thinks it is OK to sell their sons into the hands of pederasts, and those pederasts boast at how attractive their victim is, why the wiss are we there in the first place?

Things don’t look so rosy for BHO!

There is some surprise today among the commentariat that Obama is doing worse all of a sudden, so a word about the economic insights of the political press: People who mostly don’t understand money and who live inside recession-proof bubbles in Manhattan and Washington have become unemployment-rate junkies.
That monthly figure can be useful (big gains or big losses) for charting trends, but in a mostly stagnant economy is a poor reflection of the economic experience of voters. Good measures for these times include per-capita income and inflation, both of which remain unhappy. Economists can use jobless numbers to help forecast the pace of recovery and recession, but for a political yardstick, it’s of little use in real time.
The irony for an incumbent Democrat under such circumstances is that favorable reporting can produce an unfavorable result. When reporters see “good” unemployment numbers, the establishment press starts blowing great gusts about the recovery, etc. This creates an expectation among normal people that their lots are improving. But if you haven’t had a raise in three years, have no prospect for getting a better job and everything you burn, eat and wear costs more, you will quickly conclude, again, that a lot of what you see, hear and read about the economy is a bunch of hogwash.

The whole article is worth a read.

You people seem to be attempting to draw a rational conclusion from what appears to be a blatantly irrational act. If the story line we now have is indeed accurate and complete, what would cause an assumed rational soldier to act in such an irrational way? We have to assume that the soldier was assumed to be rational or rational actors would have taken him out of theater, right? This is not a random question, because if the soldier was rational, what could have possibly caused him to behave in this way (or trigger him to twist off if you will), and if it happened to him could it happen to others? What can be done to prevent it in the future? Were there any warning signs?
Try to step back from the raw emotion of the situation and look at the bigger picture. Or just continue to throw rocks

While it is never a mitigating factor to be used in a legal defense, in cases like these the actions of Leadership always merits some degree of investigation If this guy was marginal in any sense of the word and Leadership was unaware or, worse yet aware and did nothing, a few heads up the chain of command should roll. This guy had a Plattoon Sergeant and a Platoon Leader somewhere who should have at least counciled him.

#113 I am not justifying anything you jackass, how many different ways do I have to say it? I am not on the side of the murder, I want to know the bigger picture? I do not condone the murder of children. All of the questions I asked were just that, questions – most of which remain unanswered.

YOU have been trying to justify this murderers actions from the outset

That is a freaking lie, I want to find out the motivation and get all the story. You on the other hand refuse to look at the questions I raised as simply questions but have twisted them into something not intended. I asked the question, is it possible that there is more to the story and you twist that into me saying I like what the guy did -You are a hard headed jerk.

I was just waiting for the Nidal Hasan/Fort Hood diversion. I knew it was coming.

not a diversion at all. If a guy had the capacity to do what has been reported dontcha think there would have been some signs and if so why were they not acted on??
Ditto Ft Hood, there were numerous signs of real trouble with that guy but the brass covered it up.
Is it possible that the murderer in afganistahn was perfectly normal to all outward appearances and then flipped the switch and went on a rampage – sure, it is also possible that the signs were ignored and he was simply written off as a malcontent.

The sargent went on a murderous killing spree, a heinous act – I have never denied that. I am not trying to minimize what he did. I have raised the questions that there must be more to the story.

She said that the folks in the other cars that were wizzing by LQQked at her like she was an Idiot, here you have a blonde in a red Corvette all dressed up, in high heels rescuing a dang turtle! I love it!! That’s my girl 😀

Oooh …………. Wisconsin just had their voter ID overturned ………….. by the League of Women Voters.

I wonder if this ID thing only applies to federal elections? Could the state still enforce it if it’s only a state contest?

The only drawback I see is that they must be fitted by a ferrier.

A German designer has created a bizarre new range of shoes – from dead animal parts. Iris Schieferstein, 45, spends months creating high heel horse hooves, stilettos from snake skins and sandals sculpted from doves.
Ms Schieferstein, who designed a pair of horse hooves for Lady Gaga, sells the shoes for up to £3,900.

Looks like no more roll calls in Trenton.

A budget stalemate in Trenton, N.J. has prevented the city from purchasing toilet paper, and supplies are direly low.

On a related note, Sear’s has reported a run on their supply of Spring catalogs.

Shamaal I don’t know what you’re looking for but you mentioned that “the element costs $XX dollars $79, I think. That means that this is an electric stove, totally unacceptable for proper cooking. Did you know that the new Gas Ranges have two burners in the oven, one on top and one one the bottom? That way you don’t have to move the biscuits to the bottom to brown them. Some of them are self cleaning and have a convection fan. FWIW; I’ve NEVER owned an electric stove and never will because I do all the cooking in my house.

Nor-west Appliance is good. They’re comparable in price to the big box stores but much better service. Only problem is they’re WAAAYYYY outside the loop, like 500 ft. further than the DPS office 😉

SD – I was the same way about gas vs. electric. But if you’re getting a wall oven I’m convinced that an electric one is the way to go. They are actually more efficient nowadays. But a cooktop? I’ll never own anything but gas.

Mrs. Shamaal cooks on a gas cooktop, but yes the built-in oven is electric. I’ve heard the convection thing eliminates hot spots. Mrs. Shamaal likes the self cleaning aspect, that I do not believe one gets with a gas oven.

Hambone and Shamaal, I’ve never had a house with the seperate oven and cooktop but I’ve often thought that the gas cooktop and electric oven was the way to go, but the gas ovens have changed a lot, and for the better. My old stove is 29 1/2 years old and I’m saving up my coupons to get me one of them Z-71, 4 wheel drive 5 burner gas jobs that have two burners in the oven and a grill/grid? on top with four round burners and one long one down the middle. BTW: They are Expen$ive! 😉

He and other law enforcement officials across the country say Tide theft is connected to the drug trade.

I remember an illustration on the front of the Berkely Barb, or maybe it was the Detroit Free Press, showing how to make a Molotov cocktail with a pop bottle, Tide, gasoline and a length of clothesline for a wick. There were always streetcorner chatter about using Tide as an ingredient in a type of poor revolutionary’s napalm. I always preferred M4 myself.
I’m sure it was all urban legend and the Wingnut’s prophecies of total societal breakdown just a wild fantasy.

We just bought new Frigidaire Profile side by side refrigerator/freezer and gas range with 1 full-size oven and 1 drawer oven (not a warmer, but full oven).

The gas oven has complete automatic self-cleaning function.

I’m pretty sure all the manufacturers offer that.

Yeah, they were expensive, but the units we replaced were from 1979 and barely, barely limping along. The oven was gone completely and parts were no longer available.

If these last as long and I’m still alive, I’ll be 92 years old.

What better way to close-out Madness Monday other than with another example of …………… Monday Madness

Stearns told constituents to focus on beating Obama in the ballot box — not because the “birther” allegations were false, necessarily, but because it would be easier to achieve politically.
“If we started impeachment this time of year, [it would be] very difficult in terms of time and strength,” Stearns said.
