Will Puerto Rico become the 51st state? The governor hopes so. I find his statements on Hugo Chavez particularly ear-perking.

It appears comments are not allowed for the paper published although the editor says they received over 250 emails about it. However, the editor who oversaw the publishing of the submission has posted in an open forum blog there asking whether readers believe they should have printed it in the first place.

I am the first to vote so right now it is 100% to 0% against.

I actually don’t have a problem with it being published. I have great problem with the thoughts being expressed, but that’s what free will and all that are about.

That said, articles like that likely help pro-life causes more than the pro-abortion causes because they put into very stark terms exactly what is being considered, rather than the softened euphemistic terms that the pro-abortion people normally use so as not to offend.

People can publish whatever they want. I reject emphatically it is appropriate for a publication calling itself the Journal of Medical Ethics to approve a paper like this. The editor defends their action in this blog posting with the following nonsense:

Many people will and have disagreed with these arguments. However, the goal of the Journal of Medical Ethics is not to present the Truth or promote some one moral view. It is to present well reasoned argument based on widely accepted premises. The authors provocatively argue that there is no moral difference between a fetus and a newborn. Their capacities are relevantly similar. If abortion is permissible, infanticide should be permissible. The authors proceed logically from premises which many people accept to a conclusion that many of those people would reject.

Of course, many people will argue that on this basis abortion should be recriminalised. Those arguments can be well made and the Journal would publish a paper than made such a case coherently, originally and with application to issues of public or medical concern. The Journal does not specifically support substantive moral views, ideologies, theories, dogmas or moral outlooks, over others. It supports sound rational argument. Moreover, it supports freedom of ethical expression. The Journal welcomes reasoned coherent responses to After-Birth Abortion. Or indeed on any topic relevant to medical ethics.

This is patent bulls**t ladled up as haute cuisine. They create a journal ostensibly devoted to “Medical Ethics” and then proceed to deconstruct thousands of years of Western Civilization’s foundation for respect of human life. This is a post-modern scam designed not to further understanding of the truths of human life and medicine, but to continue the project of disassembling our culture and it moral underpinnings by redefining it out of existence or ignoring it altogether. If the BMJ Group wants to publish a paper like this one, they should create a new venue, such as Restoring Eugenics, Journal of Human Euthanasia or The Mengele Project. For these people to pretend they are engaged in ethics is a cruel and deceitful fraud.

“Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles,” the note on his website read.

The quote came from this story. We do not yet have the official cause of death, however, I do not think there is anything natural (perhaps normal is a better word) about somebody in relatively good health collapsing at the tender young age of 43. I hope a thorough autopsy is performed and the genuine COD is revealed.

Mayor Porker’s idea of putting Public Intoxication (PI) perps in a “sobering center” instead of the city/county jail seems to be a better use of resources to me. This only applies to those who are solely charged with PI, if there are other offenses the sobering center is not available to them. Keeping the drunks away from the more violent criminals prevents secondary problems. This is the first thing I can recall on which I actually agree with Mayor Porker.

I was commenting on Sheriff Arpaio’s press conference on his investigation into the legitimacy of Obama’s birth certificate and his Selective Service card. I hadn’t heard about the SS card forgery.

They also have multiple affidavits from people regarding TBO’s “foreign status”.

And they said that, in a very unusual circumstance, the flight records for flights into Hawaii for the first week or so of August 1961 have disappeared. They requested ten years of flight data from INS, and of all those years, those are the only dates for which there is no data. That’s darn scary.

They can pin down the computer on which the forged birth certificate was stored 20 minutes before it was uploaded. They also have a “person of interest” regarding the forged document.

They didn’t name names, and the sheriff is trying to decide what to do with the information next. I’m sure Holder would LOVE to be in charge of this “investigation”.

I found a link here. The press conference replay will be available tomorrow.

I was commenting on Sheriff Arpaio’s press conference on his investigation into the legitimacy of Obama’s birth certificate and his Selective Service card. I hadn’t heard about the SS card forgery.
They also have multiple affidavits from people regarding TBO’s “foreign status”.

That whole “edited video” crap has got to go. He was pointing out the racism of the audience, not the speaker. And on top of that, he…oh forget it. It wouldn’t matter.

Just plan on news shows going on for boring ever, since they shouldn’t edit videos either.

Perhaps not as important as Breitbart bringing grossly edited videos to the worms

    Uh, no.

Don’t peddle that that tripe here because I will drag out all the truth, the ugly truth about Shirley Sherrod and her husband, the NAACP, Senator Obama, Dan Glickman and the spectacularly corrupt Pigford case in the cynical, criminal shakedown of the American people for over a billion dollars.

Drag it out all you want. The Sherrod and O’Keefe tapes are available in their released versions and the originals. Even the courts couldn’t discern who said what.

Breitbart released the Sherrod tape as he originally received it. He didn’t have the complete original and it was only when Fox obtained the full tape that it was available.

But Breitbart’s essential goal was accomplished by forcing the impotent, acquiescent American press to finally start reporting on the Pigford case and all the sordid details it involved. It never has been given the scrutiny it merits except in conservative new media, but at least some light was cast on it.

    Breitbart – 1

As I idle away many minutes of my day on this site, because greater minds than mine say what I would like to say much clearer than I could – hence my lack of comments, along comes sham-wow and reminds me why I keep tied to this site. Intelligent, well thought out points of views and opinions that people are willing to be put to public scutiny. Then the shammy shows up with the most juvinile (sp) comments that sound like they came out of a 14 year old’s mind and I shake my head and think, ” thank God I’m not a liberal.”

Thank y’all for what you contribute.

Oh for Pete’s sake, I bear the man no ill will.
I’ve seen disrespect on this site, and my comment pales in comparison.
He procured the edited tapes for the purpose of mischief and nothing else. No ” essential goal was accomplished by forcing the impotent, acquiescent American press to finally start reporting on the Pigford case” no exposing the “racism of the audience”. But let’s let him speak:

Breitbart said he thought it was “somewhat newsworthy but really didn’t pursue” it until the NAACP came out with its resolution against Tea Party racism. Breitbart explained, “When I saw that the NAACP last week was going to reassert the falsehood… that the n-word was hurled by Tea Party people as part of the resolution to condemn the Tea Party, I thought this is outrageous… so I told Ben Jealous of the NAACP, you want to divide this country on race. You want to keep negatively branding the Tea Party, constantly asking are they racist? …

It is a technique of propaganda

…When the NAACP thing happened… I called (the man with the Sherrod video) and he sent me two excerpts of the video… The whole point was to show that for the NAACP to spend five days on national TV to say that the Tea party is racist without any evidence.. for them to talk about racism, they should not be throwing stones in glass houses.”

Mischief for the NAACP and nothing else. Let him lay fallow for a day before beginning the rites of beatification.
