I tried to find something interesting for today, and stumbled across this video:
I guess sometimes just flat out denial works wonders. And how many of us have wished to do this to someone?
And then there are those drivers who are totally oblivious to the obvious:

I love how they check out the car – and then enjoy the free parking:

Thank goodness for the kind samaritan:
But this lady was much less careful and cautious:
Y’all be careful out there.

Today’s thread is open from the frozen tundra. (-16C = 3F).
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn! Is it still Wed? It kind of feels like Thursday to me, maybe I’m just crazy.

Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation’s Armed Forces at home. During a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, the Maine Republican referenced a letter from the Defense Department depicting… Read more »
Tedtam #38; Is says the *Brazilian* woman from San Jose de Ribamar. “San” is Spanish, for “saint”. The same word in the Portuguese is “são”; thus the city should be printed as São José de Ribamar. So, I guess there could be Brazilian cities named in Spanish but I do so in this case. I think it’s a typo in… Read more »

The main reason is that we had a very liberal Commander-in-Chief at the helm.
Texpat,
Dangit, there you go. I’m trying to be a smug know it all and you bring up Watergate. I don’t think that club is on any charts.
#69 Sarge Thanks for posting your personal remembrances also, Sarge. My father was an Army paratrooper in Europe during WWII but I never heard any war stories when I was growing up. The parents of most of the kids I grew up with were WW2 or Korean War Vets. My dad was too young for WW2 and too married for… Read more »
Thanks, Bigs and Sarge.

I’ve been out of the loop too long to know what club is on the top of the social totem pole down on the Bay. I remember when Watergate was exclusive, but I’m sure they’re a proletarian boatyard by now.
The Lakewood folks were not so bad. They could afford to buy some very impressive boats. The irony back then was they had to recruit low life HYC sailors, because they knew sail, to crew them.

Nice tribute to your father, and especially nice to read on this day of solemn remembrance. Thanks for posting.
When I was a little boy in the 1950s, people spoke of Pearl Harbor as if it had happened yesterday, as they did of the war. It was all so vivid and current for me as a child. Rene Gagnon, the man who carried the flag up Mount Suribachi lived in my home town in New Hampshire. I knew folks… Read more »

Okay, okay, I apologize to the folks at HYC. I was relying on old memories of when HYC was a truly exclusive and swanky place.
Lakewood BAADgirls and aborti-enablers it is.

Wow, I was unaware that there were any native crocodiles at all in the US. Good luck to the kraken-mutants.
#64 Big45 The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association announced today they are disbanding. They encouraged all to remember Pearl Harbor and continue to honor those who served then, before and since. Damn, that makes me very sad. When I was a little boy in the 1950s, people spoke of Pearl Harbor as if it had happened yesterday, as they did of… Read more »
Tedtam #38, my wife says that is ridiculous. All of those things are bigger and harder than anything similar she has seen in the anatomical world. Proof that she has never watched less than wholesome videos.
Today, as I do every December 7th, I returned to Pearl Harbor to honor those who participated in and were lost on that “day of infamy”. I also go to my father’s final resting place in front of his barracks, which still stands today. When I leave my home I drive up a steep road out of the valley I… Read more »
Political correctness is a mental disorder besides being a suicide pact.
Who are these people and why are they in charge??? An attack by a Muslim psychiatrist in the Army that left 13 people dead and dozens wounded has been labeled as a simple case of workplace violence by the Defense Department. On Nov. 5, 2009 Army Major Nidal Hasan opened fire on his fellow soldiers on the Fort Hood Army… Read more »

Texpat, HYC does not deserve that. I think you are confusing them with Lakewood.
#57 Texpat – I think you’re right. I’m still laughing my ass off at the suggestion that the “celebration” isn’t a Democrat event.
This is (a test)

I think the River Oaks ROADwhores and Houston Yacht Club BAADgirls Democratic Women abortion gala post at Big Jolly’s set a record for comments on a single thread there.
Bummer, the mouse never got et.
As if we needed anymore evidence that the foul O admin is islamo-phillic and poisoned by PC beyond redemption:
The late great Jaco Pastorius.
Subsequent to being shot, the baloney must be considered unfit for consumption and therefore requiring proper disposal–after the CSIs examined it. 🙂
Tennessee sheriff’s deputy suspended for wounding a cooler and killing a computer monitor and a baloney.

Sounded straight off the album.
Very nice VID.

#28 TT: Numbers never struck me as an analogy-filled piece of scripture. The remarkable thing about Scripture is that it is relevant to the times it was written AND describes heavenly/spiritual concepts in earthly terms AND provides guidance for us today. In the first chapter of Genesis, it speaks of 1st day, 2nd day, etc., then upon closer examination you… Read more »
MASH was much better in its early years, especially before the preachy pinko Mike Farrell joined the cast. Toward the end it wasn’t much different from a sitcom about suburbanites, except everything was olive drab.
I never understood the popularity of MASH. I never watched a full episode. Couldn’t get past the annoying canned laughter.
No regrets, Coyote.
Generalissimo Francisco Franco remains critically dead.

Hubby will be very sad. MASH remains his favorite show to this day, and we have all the episodes.
#40 Man, I thought he kicked the bucket a long time ago. On a related note, Abe Vigoda is still alive.
Should men be banned from handling roses?
Yea for Katfish and his compatriots.
RIP Colonel Potter.
I’m thinking they should ban them, because they obviously cause impure thoughts in the mind of the goat molester.
In fact, they should ban cigars, cigarettes, and especially water pipes, since the act of smoking them closely mimics a sex act that in the case of Imam Goat Molester would be homoerotic.
There’s an Islamic cleric who has issued a fatwa that women should not handle any penis-shaped produce, including bananas, carrots, cucumbers, and zucchini. It seems that just handling the produce could “produce” evil thoughts in the women. Their male relatives should cut up the vegetables for them, out of sight. (Of course, there’s no consideration as to what would happen… Read more »

Excellent news.
Good afternoon Hamsters. Frost on the remaining pumpkins and a thin layer of ice on the fountain and stock tanks, Cold 27 at 6 and light wind that grew after Sunup. Katfish reports the Alabama child molester convicted on two counts–70 + 20 years, consecutive.
I had not heard of this man. I imagine he had a lot of fun eluding the police.
God bless him.
Dang. No respect for the badge anymore, at all.
I say teach these punks a lesson. Threatening to kill a girl?
