A potpourri of topics today:
It seems that Obama has finally crossed a line worth shooting over.
Ohio – the new California.
SHOCKER! But I’ll bet he’ll not give up his money to forfeit his 1% spot.
And I feel for these 53%ers having to clean up after the 99%.
But the 99% are still sharing everything with each other. And I mean everything.
Downtwinkles to the Lebanese. Or maybe uptwinkles. I‘m not sure.
Our Nobel Peace Prize president wisses off the Chinese.
Well, that should stir the pot a bit…

This morning around 6 :30ish the voice on am740 was interviewing Hector Challa –something from LaRaza and Ted Poe. The amazing thing is that the dolt doing the interview expressed surprise that the LaRaza instigator accused the Rs in general of racism. Really?? An organization name THE RACE uses race as a tactic? Why you could have knocked me over with a bull dozer.

The Obama BLM, along with the rest of his bunch is completely wissed up. This is simply one more way to tighten access to public lands by lawful, tax paying citizens. It is a ridiculous violation of the equal protection clause in the Constitution.
Gun owners who have historically been able to use public lands for target practice would be barred from potentially millions of acres under new rules drafted by the Interior Department, the first major move by the Obama administration to impose limits on firearms.
Officials say the administration is concerned about the potential clash between gun owners and encroaching urban populations who like to use same land for hiking and dog walking.
“It’s not so much a safety issue. It’s a social conflict issue,” said Frank Jenks, a natural resource specialist with Interior’s Bureau of Land Management, which oversees 245 million acres. He adds that urbanites “freak out” when they hear shooting on public lands.
So the rights of those who pay exorbitant taxes are subject to the irrational fears of the perpetually ignorant.

#2 – BC – That doofus they brought in to cover the morning news is just another living example of proof that liberal talk radio will never succeed. This guy claims to be conservative, but when he starts wanting to know how people “feel” about something or another you know he’s faking it. Plus publicly paling up with QX and SJL, plus dealing daily with shallow topics and trying to extract some kind of shock value is even more proof. I like to keep the radio on at night when I work, and I frankly wasn’t that fond of the news readers they had before this Matt character, but at least I could stand to leave it on. I’ve actually had to turn it off and go cold turkey since this guy showed up. Like everyone else these days, I guess the station has to try to save a buck here and there, but the garden guy and the home improvement guy offer more insight than this guy does – and I thought Houston would command a decent radio host for it’s blowtorch.
– Rant off for now.

#5 El Fat Man: The guy was such a dolt, it makes me wonder why Ted Poe would risk his sterling reputation to go on the show. Sam Malone on 700ksev is a whole lot more reasonable.

Limbaugh had a fascinating take on talk radio and why lib-vsr will never work. He reasons that, when listening to the radio as opposed to tv, you have to engage more of your brain to understand what is being said. That extra brain engagement tends to blow the smoke screen off of liberalism and it sounds as ludicrous as it ts in reality; thus causing its inevitable rejection. For guys in particular, we are very visually stimulated – a pretty face and nice cleavage will seriously cloud judgement on what is actually being said; radio eliminates that powerful visual distraction.

#5 El Gordo: I listen on my way in to town, when I’m there and find myself listening more and more to Bill Bennett. While his PBS mannerism gets annoying none of the local morning talkers are interesting. Sam Malone is particularly grating. He never shuts up and listens to the callers comments. It’s like he just wants to hear himself talk. The guy on 950 just sounds angry all the time even when he’s in a good mood. I find myself missing Edd.

#7 Texanadian: I also miss Edd. About 20 years ago, I bought a whole vacuum packed ribeye from him and traded it for a weekend dove hunt in the Hondo area for me and my buds. Definitely one of the best deals I ever made. I told Edd what my plan was and he was all for it. All in all a great guy. I don’t know if he still does this but it used to be the customer could go into the kitchen of his restaurant tell him how big of a steak you wanted in ounces and he would cut it. Before he cut it he would offer to play over/under for an ounce wager: You would bet so many ounces and guess whether he cut the steak over or under your request. I found that to be a great way to form a bond with the customer.

#8 TT: It makes so much sense on so many different levels to build the pipeline and refine Canadian oil as opposed to that from countries which hate us. It makes so much sense that it would be unfathomable for the O-Hole to endorse it, being bent on our destruction as he is.

Israel emphatically states that ALL OPTIONS ARE ON THE TABLE for dealing with the situation with Iran.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that “all options are on the table,” in a written response to a Knesset discussion on “the dilemma of attacking Iran.”
“We will make every effort to recruit the international community. Nonetheless, Israel would like to make clear that all options are on the table,” Netanyahu wrote in a response read in the Knesset plenum by Government Services Minister Michael Eitan.

I used to watch the TV news and the news channels, but the reporting finally got to the point that even the pretty faces and sightly cleavage could not cover for the idiocy coming from their speak holes. So instead of turning down the sound and watching the scenery, I just turned the thing off. Except for the world series and an occasional college football game, it seldom comes back on.

RE TT’s #74 late last night, Red sprites & Blue jets
That was some interesting video, TT. Finally saw some light sprays shooting up from the tops of thunderclouds, matching my recollection of a special that prolly ran on Discovery Channel a while back.
Those radio emissions sounded like sizzling bacon! The storm gods having breakfast?

He he he. I have this image of the Hamster Couch suddenly transformed into a modern version of Cleopatra’s Barge.Oh, Good Afternoon Hamsters. ‘Twas a wonderful 60 at 6, rain-soaked fill dirt sprouting rye grass in places, and God’s rain yesterday improving everything today. Plus cooler weather is on the doorstep. Thank you, Lord.
Finally made it over to the bank to exchange the leftover euros for dollars. The yield was $43.73 from 35 euros. I still can’t believe our $$ exchange for less than the euro, which is on the brink of collapse with one foot in the grave and the other on a Greek banana peel….

#35 Texpat, I love it! I read a report on it in Guns and Ammo a while back, interestingly you can purchase it like any other weapon, since it’s operated by a crank it is not considered a fully automatic weapon. FWIW; You can buy a machine gun as long as you pay the $200 transfer fee and go through the background check. 😉

Yup but looking at all the machine work and fitting by hand it’s worth it! Not that I could afford it. I’m more of a “RUGER® 10/22® GATLING GUN” kinda’ guy, $400 for the kit and you supply your own 22’s,…maybe about $150 a piece used, so for about $700 bucks you’re in business, and dang you can get a 550 brick of 22’s for less than $10! 😀

I forgot to mention this and of couse some of you listen to the Michael Berry radio show anyway — Didja catch Berry one afternoon this week talking about Moochelle’s lastest food tirade and calling her a Nagger? Even though it is radio, you could just see him grinning, knowing how he was stirring the pot with that term. Audacious! He got an email about it pretty quickly.

#42 M42 (but I repeat myself) That was yesterday. The big point he was making is: why is it OK for one group to use the dreaded N-word but not another? Ifn the word is a bad word then it should not be tolerated being uttered by anybody. Why do we let the lefty lib-VSRs control the language and debate?

It would be the greatest come-back of all time and I don’t think it is going to happen. Tiger Woods suffers worst loss ever in match play.
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) – Tiger Woods made the first move, reaching out to shake hands with his ex-caddie, that went a long way toward dousing the endless chatter over their acrimonious breakup.
Twelve holes later, as short a Presidents Cup match that has ever been played, Steve Williams had the last laugh.
In the 112 matches of various formats that Woods has played in his professional career, he never had a loss like this one. Playing again with Steve Stricker, an American tandem that was unbeatable two years ago, they didn’t win a hole and didn’t make a birdie in tying the Presidents Cup record for the worst loss ever, 7 and 6.I don’t think will win many if any more tournaments; his head is too wissed up and his body can’t handle his swing anymore. I don’t think his head can handle his swinging anymore either but it is doubtful that will change.
