Doctors have been legally killing their patients in the Netherlands for decades.
Now it seems the Dutch Medical Association wants to include loneliness as one of the acceptable parameters for murdering their patients.
Since 1973, when euthanasia was quasi decriminalized, Dutch doctors have gone from euthanizing the terminally ill who ask for it, to the chronically ill who ask for it, to people with disabilities who ask for it, to the mentally anguished who ask for it–and all legal because the “guidelines” proved so elastic they had not snap back at all. And now, they want to target vulnerable and marginalized elderly people.
Until now, factors such as income or a patient’s social life played almost no role when physicians were considering a euthanasia request. However, the new guidelines will certainly change that. After almost a year of discussions, the KNMG has published a paper which says a combination of social factors and diseases and ailments that are not terminal may also qualify as unbearable and lasting suffering under the Euthanasia Act.
Hear, hear!
Luckily we only have to look to the northeast to see what happens.
Let’s hear it for Max the purebred Beagle!
He’s a good boy.
Hybrid vigor.
Well known in animal husbandry.
Heaven forbid we had remained substantially “English”. 🙂
7 WB It is a myth that pure breds are stronger. The opposite is true. Pure bred dogs and horses have higher than average genetic issues. Wanna see a genetically transmitted disease run rampant; then just “keep it in the house”. It is genetic variation that keeps the overall species strong and diminishes the impact of genetically transmitted diseases. Lets… Read more »
However, in the US there is the ameliorating factor of cross-racial baby-making that has the effect of making more of us all-American mutts.
ouple that with what you’re saying and we’d have a population crash within about four years. Pat Buchannon’s book about national suicide goes into great detail about how Yurp, Russia and the USA caucasian populations are not reproducing at high enough rates to sustain the population. Over the next 25 years or so it could lead to a real significant… Read more »
At least that many are lucky to have made it to adulthood, given the goofy things they do. Heck, I’m one of the really lucky ones.
Couple that with what you’re saying and we’d have a population crash within about four years.
Given these guidelines, half our teenage population would never make it to adulthood.
Then add up the ignored elderly.
It takes the financial load off their socialist system, I suppose.
Death is cheaper than medication.
But soullessness can take an eternity to pay.

yer welcome 😉
While I admire the Dutch in many things, this is most certainly not one of them.
Human life – ALL human life – is sacred from the moment of conception to natural death.
Must be a Soylent Green shortage in The Netherlands…
