I’ll bet if you interview Big Bird he will give you a more intelligent interview then any of those other people on the protest line and he definitely has an agenda that he is trying to promote. Maybe he should be the spokesman for the Occupy Wall Street people. He definitely has “name recognition” and can attract the young voters and supporters.

“Well, I did a show with Michelle and I just loved being with her,” Deen told Yeas & Nays. “She probably ate more than any other guest I’ve ever had on the show —she kept eating even during commercials.” Deen taught Obama how to fry shrimp during a TV segment in September before the 2008 presidential election. “You know what their favorite foods are — it’s hot wings, you know, those kinds of foods that are not necessarily top-of-the-list healthy foods, so she’s no different than the rest of us,” Deen said. “We love those kinds of foods, we just know that we can’t eat them everyday.”

Issa throws down the gauntlet. This is on Michelle Malkin’s site and it is the big letter to Holder essentially calling him a lying crap weasel. I see jail time for Holder, that is iffn O doesn’t pardon him afore he is evicted from the white house.
The letter is kind of long but is detailed and well worth the read. Holder is in big time deep doo doo. O is right there with him because he keeps on defending him. Palin used the term “corrupt bastards club” when referring tot he entrenched political machine in Alaska; I think the same term is not quite strong enough to describe our current POTUS and his bunch. -

Here’s an interesting thought experiment to try out on a people-loving liberal: If we had a national referendum, and a majority voted to abolish the Environmental Protection Agency, would it be legitimate in the eyes of “Progressives”? If you think the liberal compass on democracy is spinning fast now. . .

You beat me to posting the letter so I’ll just post my comments on it. Looks like his methodical attack is working. He held nothing back, going all the way back to February, blasting him on every item involved in his actions and statements. There is too much to try and snip out parts and pieces, you must see the entire letter to realize the full impact.
I don’t think that is a bus I hear idling in the parking lot, it sounds more like a steamroller.

That dude is lucky to be alive.
The hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus) is a grassland antelope found in West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa. It is one of the three species classified in the genus Alcelaphus.
Hartebeest stand almost 1.5 m (5 ft) at the shoulder and weigh anywhere from 120–200 kg (265–440 lb).

Good take on the White House and news media
By David Zurawik The Baltimore Sun
10:55 a.m. EDT, October 10, 2011
I won’t retrace the whole issue here, but CBS News is long overdue for some praise at this blog for investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson excellent work on the Department of Justice’s “Operation Fast and Furious.”The blowback from the White House and DOJ has been petty, nasty and has failed to responsibly address the serious charges Attkisson’s reporting raises. This is exactly the White House contempt for the press that I wrote about shortly after Obama’s inauguration. It’s the White House I came to know when I criticized it for its war against Fox News in 2009.
When Attkinson reported that White House and DOJ spokespersons “yelled and cursed” at her as she tried to do her job, the president’s spokesperson, Jay Carney, essentially said such verbal abuse goes with the territory. This from the spokesperson for the president who makes all those pious public utterances about civility.
And you know what, it’s nonsense. I have been yelled at and cursed out plenty by media executives and political operatives and spokespersons, and it’s only the wannabes and losers who do it.
But here’s the larger point that needs to be made: Team Obama is in full campaign mode, and because of their fundamental contempt for the press, that means they reward those who come on bended knee and they punish those who dare to question them.
The bended knee boys include Brain Williams, the bowing anchorman. Have you noticed how many “exclusive” interviews Obama has given NBC recently? Oh yeah, NBC is kowtowing to Obama.
No, you say, Obama is talking to NBC News because it has the highest rated morning and evening newscasts. NBC does have that, but there is no bigger tent in network TV than “60 Minutes” on CBS, and Obama used to be on there all the time. In fact, as much as I admire “60 Minutes,” I questioned whether it was getting too cozy with Obama.
And that’s what makes me most impressed with what CBS News is doing on the “Fast and Furious” story.
Team Obama, under the direction of David Plouffe, will try and find a way to punish CBS News for Attkisson’s work, make no mistake about it. As I said two years ago, I have not seen a White House as vindictive in its dealings with the press since the one inhabited by Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew.
But CBS News isn’t backing down so far.
Good for CBS News. Between now and next November, Obama is going to need “60 Minutes” more than “60 Minutes’ will need him. Look at his sinking poll numbers versus the Top 10 ratings of “60 Minutes.”
And Obama can only do so many interviews with Brian Williams before the game between him and NBC News becomes obvious to everyone.

It sounded like a lot of money until he met the Dick Cheney look-alike on the movie set and all he was wearing was a robe.

#23 OTL: I wonder how long that will pass constitutional muster? When will the big one hit and cause CA to slide off into the Pacific Ocean? I am trying hard to see how such an event would result in a “net negative” for the country and I just can’t get there.

Eating Puppy Meat Is the Same as Eating Pork, British TV Chef Says
Scripture-wise they are both in exactly the same category.
(Sky News) – British TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall claimed that eating puppy meat is no more morally objectionable than consuming pork.
The celebrity chef previously shocked viewers by eating placenta pate, curried fruit bat, giraffe and calf testicles and now claims that he would not be against a “high-welfare organic puppy farm.”Giraffe is Kosher.

Swine have been domesticated primarily as a food source for about 15,000 years. They have been a part of our diet for a very long time. While dogs are consumed by some cultures they have never been a routine food source for western civilization. Based on that I would say that no, puppies are not in the same category as pigs. I won’t get into another theological discussion about whether dietary laws of the Jews apply to Christians but just let me say this:
You can have my bacon when you pry it from my cold, greasy fingers! 😉

SunPower: Twice As Bad As Solyndra, Twice As Bad For Obama.
How did a failing California solar company, buffeted by short sellers and shareholder lawsuits, receive a $1.2 billion federal loan guarantee for a photovoltaic electricity ranch project—three weeks after it announced it was building new manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Mexico, to build the panels for the project.
The company, SunPower (SPWR-NASDAQ), now carries $820 million in debt, an amount $20 million greater than its market capitalization. If SunPower was a bank, the feds would shut it down. Instead, it received a lifeline twice the size of the money sent down the Solyndra drain.
Two men with insight into the process are SunPower rooter Rep. George R. Miller III, (D.-Calif.), the senior Democrat on the House Education and Workforce Committee and the co-chairman of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, and his SunPower lobbyist son, George Miller IV.

And I ain’t giving up oysters or scrimps neither!
Ok, maybe one quote from the Acts of the Apostles (15:27-29):
So we are sending Judas and Silas who will also convey this same message by word of mouth: ‘It is the decision of the holy Spirit and of us not to place on you any burden beyond these necessities, namely, to abstain from meat sacrificed to idols, from blood, from meats of strangled animals, and from unlawful marriage. If you keep free of these, you will be doing what is right. Farewell.’
I have been known to give up pork and other meats during Lent. But a good roasted fresh ham? Ah man, that’s heavenly!

#33 Shannon – yup, I felt the same way when I read that a while back.
In the stock television footage of Tea Party rallies, there she always is on at least one upraised poster, her grim gray features looming over the crowd like the granitic countenance of some cruel heathen deity glutted on human blood.

#33 Shannon: I don’t think the reviewer liked teh moobie, and has a particular disdain for the author:
Even so, the cardboard characters, the ludicrous dialogue, the bloated perorations, the predictable plotting, the lunatic repetitiousness and banality, the shockingly syrupy romance—it all goes to create a uniquely nauseating effect: at once mephitic and cloying, at once sulfur and cotton candy.
The reviewer goes to great lengths to say “it sucked”.
The thing that I really liked about the books Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead, was the stunningly accurate portrayal of how “leftyism” works and its adherents. The rest of the content of the books is crap. -

I think if you will read a little more on both sides of your selection you will see that the above was THE BEGINNING to have table fellowship. It is implied that they would continue in their education and would willingly change their behavior to be in accordance with that which was outlined in THE WRITTEN TORAH, the same way that MESSIAH, our example, lived. Let’s be real sure that I am not saying adhere to the oral tradition as Messiah routinely railed against that.
One is redeemed when he recognizes what Messiah did for him, this begins his journey on the road of righteousness. One can not stay on that road if one is in rebellion to the path outlined therein.
I would suggest that you re-read the Torah and understanding that those items that deal with Temple Service do not apply (as the Temple is not currently extant), what in there specifically can you not do? I would love to see you come up with a specific item that you can not (as opposed to will not) do within the parameters outlined above. -

I think if you will read a little more on both sides of your selection you will see that the above was THE BEGINNING to have table fellowship.
I just got finished with a Bible Study course on Acts. The reading included Acts: Church Afire by R. Kent Hughes, a commentary on Ephesians by N.T. Wright, Life Lessons Study on Philippians by Max Lucado, a screening of Peter and Paul, and small group discussions once a week for 6 weeks.
I know your belief is different than mine, but the study suggests to me that Luke was relating Paul’s message that salvation comes through Faith alone, and that strict adherence to the Law was not required, particularly as it relates to circumcision and dietary laws. I got nothing from that study that suggests there is any other message in Acts before or after the chosen verse that would indicate otherwise.

#46 Boney – I’ve read it all. Forwards and backwards and sideways. Many times.
I would love to see you come up with a specific item that you can not (as opposed to will not) do within the parameters outlined above.
I don’t accept your parameters as interpreted so it doesn’t make much sense to try, but as far as specific items, there’s a pretty good list with 10 items on it that I try and stick with.
I won’t criticize you for choosing to impose dietary restrictions on yourself. I just don’t think such restrictions are required by Scripture. “It is the decision of the Holy Spirit.” Who am I to argue with His decision?
19 It is my judgment, therefore, that we ought to stop troubling the Gentiles who turn to God, 20 but tell them by letter to avoid pollution from idols, unlawful marriage, the meat of strangled animals, and blood.

It is implied that they would continue in their education and would willingly change their behavior …
That does trouble me. Where is this implication? Acts is not one of those Books filled with parables that teach us lessons. It is instruction to the faithful. It contains clarifications, usually to the Gentiles (i.e. us), on what it means, and what is required, to be Christian. Once you begin inferring meaning out of these instructions you risk the danger of corrupting Scripture. Such practices are why we have some ten thousand different sects calling themselves Christian, many with incompatible interpretations.

23 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
25 Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26 for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience. 29 I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience? 30 If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for?
31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. (1 Cor 10:25-ff)
I believe that this pretty much covers the issue. If you want to stay kosher – fine. Feel free to follow the dictates of your conscience and the leading of the Holy Spirit. But please stop peering down that extended nose and presuming to tell the rest of us where we are failing to measure up.
“First remove the beam from you own eye…….”

Sarge – how is your girlfriend’s mother doing?
Going back to the Dr. this AM. Will know more this evening. She had the night nurse all weekend with sisters double teaming in between. S.O. had to leave work early yesterday to take her to Dr. for some tests.
We know she’s sick because she’s not biotching about the night nurse. Under normal circumstances she would not countenance another nurse taking care of her—and independent streak, not an estimation if proficiency among nurses.

Once I realized this morning today is the 9th anniversary of Jimmy Carter receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, I knew I needed to find some counterbalancing good news.
It doesn’t get much better than this:
Judge Rebecca F. Dougherty of the Western District of Louisiana in Lafayette awarded $1.7 million dollars to Hubert Vidrine in his lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency under the Federal Tort Claims Act for malicious prosecution by agents of the EPA.Judge Dougherty wrote:
During the investigation and prosecution, Agent Barnhill, who was single, lived in South Louisiana; Agent Phillips, who was married, lived in Dallas, Texas with his wife. Prior to and at trial, plaintiffs’ counsel consistently argued Agent Phillips used the Vidrine investigation as a cover, excuse and opportunity to facilitate his illicit affair with Agent Barnhill and to hide the affair from his wife. Plaintiffs consistently argued Keith Phillips manufactured a case, both in law and fact, against Hubert Vidrine, and carefully fed the AUSA and his supervisors only the information which would further that end and perpetuate the case, all to promote access to Agent Barnhill and perpetuate and conceal their illicit affair. Regrettably, the Court agrees with plaintiffs: this inappropriate and unprofessional behavior likely was, at least in part (if not in whole) a motivation for Agent Phillips’ continued pursuit of Hubert Vidrine, without probable cause, and certainly with a complete and total reckless disregard of Hubert Vidrine’s rights.
Oh, and EPA Agent Keith Phillips is going to jail over this too:
Keith Phillips, 61, of Kent, Texas, pleaded guilty yesterday before U.S. District Judge Richard T. Haik Sr. in the Western District of Louisiana to a two-count indictment charging him with obstruction of justice and perjury. The charges stemmed from his sworn testimony in relation to a case that was pending in the Western District of Louisiana.
. . . Phillips faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 on the obstruction of justice count, and five years in prison and a fine of $250,000 on the perjury count. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled by the court.

I was thinking this morning (I do that occasionally, but not always with positive outcomes) before I exited my nice, warm bed…
The Stinkify Houston crowd was showing off their desserts brought to them by a friend of the cause. What if someone were to bring them some laxative laced brownies? Perhaps with a little oregano thrown in to make them really irresistible to that crowd?
It brings a little smile to the face.

Acts 18:18-19
18 Paul, having remained many days longer, took leave of the brethren and put out to sea for Syria, and with him were Priscilla and Aquila. In Cenchrea he had his hair cut, for he was keeping a vow.
NASUIf Paul had rejected THE WRITTEN TORAH why would he be making/keeping a Nazirite vow?
Acts 21:19-26
19 After he had greeted them, he began to relate one by one the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. 20 And when they heard it they began glorifying God; and they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the Law; 21 and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs. 22 “What, then, is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come. 23 “Therefore do this that we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow; 24 take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law. 25 “But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we wrote, having decided that they should abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication.”
NASUAs you can see in the bolded section vs 23-24, Paul kept the Written Law.

If I have assumed correctly, Mr. Bones, I am interested to hear it from you directly and any further comments you might have about it.
Thanks in advance!!!Nothing could be further from the truth. Paul was correct in his writings, HOWEVER, he wrote in such a fashion as to be real easy to misunderstand. There is a huge difference between THE WRITTEN LAW and the oral tradition; at times they are both referred to as ‘the law’ and one has to read very carefully to discern which is which. Messiah NEVER spoke against the WRITTEN LAW, HE frequently spoke against the traditions of men.
Redemption and Salvation are not the same thing. Redemption is getting on THE ROAD, while Salvation is your final destination.
Paul defined that sin was as a contradiction of the Written Law. Read Matt 5:17-21, then ask yourself if EVERYTHING IS FINISHED, is Heaven still there and earth still here? Have we had the 2nd coming of Messiah yet? Has the whole house of Israel (Israel and Judah) been made one in Messiah’s hand yet (Ezekiel – 2 sticks)?
I have more but I have to go now, perhaps we can pick this up again in the morning. -

As you can see in the bolded section vs 23-24, Paul kept the Written Law.
Paul was Jewish. As you can see in the unbolded section v 25 immediately following he did not command Gentiles to keep those dietary restrictions. That distinction is repeated (with the aforementioned subset of restrictions) throughout Paul’s writings.
The one who eats must not despise the one who abstains, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats; for God has welcomed him. Romans 14:3
Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or sabbath. Colossians 2:16

And I want to give credit where it is due and to someone who has not received it as he should.
Don’t forget Houston’s own Dick Deguerin, the first person in America to stand up and say to the press the DOJ, DEA, FBI and Homeland Security were complicit in this whole thing. The man has guts – lots of ’em.
Everyone forgets that the minute he made those statements to Fox in Houston, the whole Beltway in DC went silent on the meme of Texas/Arizona gun dealers providing arms to narcotrafficantes in Mexico.
Boom…….crickets chirping….
When there was no response and only silence from DC, I knew Deguerin had hit the sweet spot.
“Let me tell you something about Carter’s Country. They have been co-operating with ATF from the get go,” says attorney Dick Deguerin who represents Carter’s Country owner, Bill Carter.
Deguerin says the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms asked Carter’s Country to complete transactions, even when sales people strongly suspected the weapons were headed to Mexican drug gangs.
“They were told to go through with what they considered to be questionable sales. They were told to go through with sales of three or more assault rifles at the same time or five or more 9 millimeter guns at the same time or a young Hispanic male paying in cash. It’s all profiling, but they went through with it,” said Deguerin.
“They reported them promptly, either while the transaction was going on or soon there after. They did this for months and months and months. Went through with the sales because the ATF told them to go through with the sales,” he added.
Deguerin say at the ATF’s request, Carter’s Country employees followed some customers into parking lots and recorded license plate numbers.
“If the ATF had used the information that Carter’s Country developed for them they could have stopped these guns from going across the border,” insists Deguerin.

When there was no response and only silence from DC, I knew Deguerin had hit the sweet spot.“Let me tell you something about Carter’s Country.

Wagon;
she’s a cross between a wookiee and a piranha.
She sure eats like one. Then again, what American DOESN’T like fried food. Fried food development is one of America’s greatest contributions to the world.
The only doubt I have to this theory is that Wookies and sea predators do not seem to mix well .

While dogs and cats were domesticated for entirely different reasons. Eating them is not kosher by any meaning of the term.
Oh, shux mharper. And here we were planning on gobbling up our chihuahua this Christmas. Guess we now need to ax that plan. That’s a lot of wasted meat. She’s gotta weigh at least 4lbs.

Taken me a while to get around to this, but wanted to comment on “60 Minutes” revisiting Eqypt’s Tahrir Square in Cairo on a segment last Sunday. Reporter Bob Simon did not even mention colleague Lara Logan, much less what happened to her there in February. Just covered what had been happening to some of the Egyptian protesters.

I thought I’d be blogging all night but Mrs. Darren convinced me to have a small date tonight. we sat on the couch and watched “da moobie”. Well, John Wayne’s True Grit, that is. It’s been a year since I’ve seen it. It’s a good flick.

The way I see it, Jesus Christ fulfilled, as spoken in Mathew 5:17-21 the Law of Moses, which, from my understanding, was a law preporatory for the coming (first coming) of Christ into the world. Hamous (and others too) made a great point in that Paul was Jewish and so observed some of the rituals of the law but made no commandment for others to follow it. Christ’s fulfilment of the Law completed the law and thus making the law in and of itself a source of direction which no longer needed to be followed. In fact, Jesus set forth a higher law. You ask a very interesting question about whether Shannon (et al) thinks “everything is finished?” More interestingly, you then cited Ezekiel and the “sticks”. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints,, if I may, allow me to offer you a perhaps “unique” perspective on these scriptural references.
Instead of “everything” being “finished”, which it obviously is not, what about all things restored? In Acts 3 we read:
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
(Bold mine)
Jesus ascended unto heaven and will remain there until “a restitution of all things”. In the next verse we read:
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
In my view, this is was prophecy and fulfilled with the calling of a modern-day prophet, Joseph Smith. From the Book of Mormon, the prophet Nephi said the following to his youngest child, Joseph:
4 For behold, thou art the fruit of my loins; and I am a descendant of Joseph who was carried captive into Egypt. And great were the covenants of the Lord which he made unto Joseph.
5 Wherefore, Joseph truly saw our day. And he obtained a promise of the Lord, that out of the fruit of his loins the Lord God would raise up a righteous branch unto the house of Israel; not the Messiah, but a branch which was to be broken off, nevertheless, to be remembered in the covenants of the Lord that the Messiah should be made manifest unto them in the latter days, in the spirit of power, unto the bringing of them out of darkness unto light—yea, out of hidden darkness and out of captivity unto freedom.
6 For Joseph truly testified, saying: A seer shall the Lord my God raise up, who shall be a choice seer unto the fruit of my loins.
Further down we read:
14 And thus prophesied Joseph, saying: Behold, that seer will the Lord bless; and they that seek to destroy him shall be confounded; for this promise, which I have obtained of the Lord, of the fruit of my loins, shall be fulfilled. Behold, I am sure of the fulfilling of this promise;
15 And his name shall be called after me; and it shall be after the name of his father. And he shall be like unto me; for the thing, which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand, by the power of the Lord shall bring my people unto salvation.
(2 Nephi)
This is Nephi speaking to his son Joseph about the coming of a prophet who will be named the same name and whose name is the same of the tribe of Isreal from which he is descended. That tribe is, of course, Joseph. Nephi’s father, Lehi, who is considered to be the patriarch of the Nephite nation of The Book of Mormon recorded:
16 And thus my father, Lehi, did discover the genealogy of his fathers. And Laban also was a descendant of Joseph, wherefore he and his fathers had kept the records.
This is directly tied to Ezekiel 37, which I believe you were referencing the following:
15 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
(snip)
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
Sticks can very much be interpreted as “scrolls”. Ancient Isreal kept their texts, such as scripture, on “sticks”. In Ezekiel the Lord spoke of two sets of writings. One from Judah and one from Joseph through Ephraim. The Jews, of course, are descendants from the tribe of Judah. Their “stick” is the Bible. We simply cannot have the Bible were it not for the Jews and their descendants (Jesus being one of them). The other stick would be from Joseph. Their writings, I believe, is found in the Book of Mormon. The Bible and the Book of Mormon together are one. They undeniably testify that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Lord God of Isreal, and our Lord and Savior. They both testify of His divine birth and of His marvelous return to earth which is yet to come. Together, these two “sticks” are key to the gathering of Isreal in the last day and are a fulfilment of God’s promise to Abraham:
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
(snip)
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
In the LDS perspective, this is what God promised Abraham:
8 My name is Jehovah, and I know the end from the beginning; therefore my hand shall be over thee.
9 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee above measure, and make thy name great among all nations, and thou shalt be a blessing unto thy seed after thee, that in their hands they shall bear this ministry and Priesthood unto all nations;
10 And I will bless them through thy name; for as many as receive this Gospel shall be called after thy name, and shall be accounted thy seed, and shall rise up and bless thee, as their father;
11 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee; and in thee (that is, in thy Priesthood) and in thy seed (that is, thy Priesthood), for I give unto thee a promise that this right shall continue in thee, and in thy seed after thee (that is to say, the literal seed, or the seed of the body) shall all the families of the earth be blessed, even with the blessings of the Gospel, which are the blessings of salvation, even of life eternal.
Great blessings were promised and great and marvelous are the works of God.
