Don’t you just know that her daddy is upset that his family’s name will forever be linked to a sex act. 🙁 -

Luckily I’m not holding my breath waiting for condemnation for comments made by Muddy Waters, Andre Carson, Hoffa and Joe BADen. It shows where President Obummer and the Dummycrat leadership of Nancy PeLOSER and Harry Reid stand on the issue of race in this country. It would have been neat to see what would have happened if some white guy had made inflammatory remarks at the same time those clowns made theirs.

Our friends in the ACLU are suing the state of Florida, claiming that having to pass a drug test in order to receive welfare payments amounts to an unconstitutional unreasonable search.
Nonsense. It’s a stipulation required before benefits are to be paid, just like income level, number of dependents, and other criteria already in use.

#9 Pyro: Ifn Fla wins, you can be reasonably assured that there will be at least 40 states following suit. Ifn the dopers have to choose between dope and free money, they may quit the dope and then, once their head clears, they may decide that there is a better way to live.
OTOH they may just decide to steal and rob more brazenly. -

#9 Pyro: From your linkie:
MIAMI — The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida plans to challenge the state’s law requiring new welfare recipients to pass a drug test.
The law needs to apply to all welfare recipients. Every new recipient, and every current recipient, you fail and you are out for a year. After that initial housecleaning and purging, test all remaining on a random basis and/or on suspicion and you will either purge the welfare roles of most of the drug addicts, or will see lots of them get clean.

Pyro, here’s what I found out about your balancing guy from yesterday’s thread.
The performer is Mädir Eugster of Switzerland, a founding member of the Rigolo Dance Theatre and the New Swiss Circus. The “sticks” in his balancing act are the central spines of palm tree fronds. The group Rigolo seems a bit New-Agey — “not just a stage show, but a sphere in which they rediscover and revive their dormant archetypes” — but there are some interesting pix on their website. The solo “Fragile Balance” seems to be the most popular act.
“Probably the most beautiful performance currently shown in Europe”

Union Thugs; Longshoremen storm Wash. state port, damage RR
Six guards were held hostage for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested. Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting brake lines and spilling grain from car at the EGT terminal, Duscha said.NO ONE ARRESTED?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!

#17 SD: That was a violent and destructive mob; plain and simple. I think that tear gas and rock salt (propelled via 12 ga. shotgun shells) would have been the best method to disperse that mob. If that method fails, “00” buckshot (same propulsion method) should then be employed. The mob activities were flagrantly illegal, if law abiding citizens allow flagrant illegality to persist without vigorous objection (see above), then they have no gripin rights.

Hundreds of Longshoremen stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.
Last time I checked, hostage-taking is a Federal crime, akin to kidnapping.

#31 Couchmaster: From your linkie:
The deeper the water, the warmer it is, the result of warmer water coming in from the north, Smith explained. The incoming water is saltier and denser, so it sinks below the cooler waters.
I think this guy is so full of BS he may be about to explode! As the water gets colder it gets denser up to the point of freezing (the temperature at which freezing is possible decreases as the salt content increases) and the greater the salt content, the denser the water becomes. As the water freezes, the salt is squeezed out of solution and that which is frozen has a very low salt content. The salt that was squeezed out due to the freezing is now left to be in solution in the remaining water, thus increasing its salinity and density and lowering the point at which it will allow water to freeze. The result is that the water around the poles is the saltiest of all the oceans and the most dense. In the case of Antarctica, water coming in from the north would be warmer and therefore less salty and less dense, it could not sink to in order to raise the temps in the deeper regions. If the deeper regions are getting warmer it is due to geologic activity, not MMGW.
That guy needs to have his azz kicked and severely at that. -

Actually, water achieves its maximum density at about 4 degrees C. This is why ice floats and most ponds do not freeze solid in the winter. It also means that an entire body of water has to be below 4 degrees C before freezing will occur.

Breaking: FBI raids Solyndra
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm – better REALLY REALLY be BROKE before declaring bankruptcy after starting a company with porkulus funds!!! -
FBI agents armed with search warrants descended Thursday morning on bankrupt solar company Solynrda.
The investigation comes after a request by the Department of Energy’s inspector general, FBI spokesman Peter Lee told NBC Bay Area News.
snip
Solyndra officials made numerous visits — 20 — to the White House, according to logs and reporting by The Daily Caller.
Solyndra officials in the logs included chairman and founder Christian Gronet and board members Thomas Baruch and David Prend, according to the Caller.
The FBI isn’t saying anything, but there’s some smoke here:
A politically connected solar company that pocketed a half billion dollar government loan, only to shut its doors, fire workers and file for bankruptcy, benefited from a series of breaks in securing the federal funds — including an interest rate lower than other green energy projects, iWatch News and ABC News found.
The $535 million loan to Solyndra Inc., issued by the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Federal Financing Bank, included a quarterly interest rate of 1.025 percent, the government bank reported in July. Of 18 Energy Department loans cited in the bank’s report, Solyndra’s rate was lowest. Eight other Energy Department projects, each also backed by the Federal Financing Bank, came with rates three or four times higher, the report shows.

I have some problems with your list:“I” or “me” – people will be too drunk after the first five minutes to complete the game/speech
Bipartisan – you need to add “partisanship” or “partisan bickering”
The rich – include “those making over $250,000”Other than that, I don’t have a problem with your list, though I’m sure this crowd can add others

Now see, this ratcheer is why we NEED Unions to represent public sector workers.
HAVERHILL — Former firefighter Kevin Thompson admitted he drove a fire truck without a license, but asked a judge to avoid a guilty finding that would jeopardize Thompson’s pension.
snip
In court yesterday, Gleason acknowledged the allegations are true and said Thompson would agree to pay a $500 fine.
But Gleason said a criminal conviction on the charge would amount to “disparate treatment” for Thompson because city officials have said they would use it to try to strip Thompson of his retirement benefits.
Mayor James Fiorentini has said he will ask the Haverhill Retirement Board to revoke Thompson’s $3,474 monthly pension if Thompson is convicted on the driving charge.
“Your Honor, I admit that I illegally drove that firetruck, but please don’t find me guilty because IT would jeopardize my $41,688 annual pension I get for being a retired firetruck driver.”
But wait, there’s even more evidence that The Man is spressin him.
Thompson spent four months in a New Hampshire jail last year on driving charges, but continued to get paid during his incarceration by keeping it secret from city officials. He kept his paychecks coming by using vacation and personnel time and getting other firefighters to cover his shifts — a practice that Gleason said was “allowed” under the terms of the firefighter union’s contract with the city.
When Thompson was released from jail and returned to work, the city discovered he hadn’t had a valid driver’s license in at least 18 years.
City officials asked Thompson to report to the police station to answer questions about his incarceration and whether he had ever driven a fire truck without a license, but he then he quit his job and filed for retirement benefits, which were quickly approved.
See how unfair he’s being treated? Good thing the City have that Union Contract that makes sure you get paid for being a firetruck driver even though you haven’t had a drivers license for 18 FREAKING years.
Thompson, who is considered a habitual driving offender in New Hampshire, has not had a valid license in that state since 1992. Massachusetts revoked his license in 1987.
At yesterday’s hearing, Gleason said Thompson is the victim of “bad blood” between Fiorentini and Haverhill firefighters.
“The law says politics can’t be the basis for giving someone disparate punishment,” Gleason argued. “Don’t give him disparate treatment based on who he is.”
AHAH!
Its POLITICAL!
Probly them Tea Partiers stirring up trouble again.

The CEO of embattled Gibson Guitar will be the special guest of the leader of Capitol Hill’s Songwriters Caucus at the President’s speech to Congress on jobs tonight.
Rep. Marsha E. Blackburn (R- Tenn.) invited Gibson’s Henry E. Juszkiewicz as a gesture of support to her longtime friend and constituent, said Michael Reynard, her press secretary.
Blackburn, who plays both the guitar and the ukulele, founded the Songwriters Caucus in 2003 as a vehicle to promote her state’s music industry and protect creative property, Reynard said.
When House Speaker John A. Boehner (R.-Ohio) heard that Juszkiewicz would be in Washington, he contacted the congresswoman’s office and invited him to watch the speech from the speaker’s box in the House gallery, Reynard said. Before the speech, Blackburn said, she will escort the guitar executive through the halls of the Capitol to meet Congress members and other business-leader guests of the speaker.
Did anyone here know about this? Pretty cool, I’d say.

EXCLUSIVE: It’s a project that will have everybody in Hollywood and beyond talking. I’ve learned that Warner Bros has set up an untitled drama that teams Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas on the telling of the heroic story of Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee. Eszterhas will write the script, and I understand that Gibson will collaborate with him. Maccabee teamed with his father and four brothers to lead the Jewish revolt against the Greek-Syrian armies that had conquered Judea in the second century B.C. Gibson has the first option to direct but will definitely produce the film through his Icon Productions banner.
Another religious warrior flick from Gibson. Probably be as good as the others.
