Tuesday Where’s Big Mo Open Comments

Gaddafi whereabouts a mystery as rebels close in
Things are looking bad for our little Colonel.

The rebels want to get their hands on him and so does the International Criminal Court. But they must find him first.
Gaddafi has not been seen in public since mid-June. His foes speculate he may not be in the Libyan capital or even in the country. As rebel fortunes have risen, his long televised speeches at boisterous public meetings have given way to scratchy telephone appeals from unknown hideouts.

Wherever could he have gone?

If he has fled Tripoli, one possible bolt-hole would be Sirte, his home region, where he could still find some support and sympathy.
At one point early in the uprising, Britain said he was thought to be on his way to Venezuela and the welcoming arms of his friend Hugo Chavez.

My sources deep in the Venezuelan government have forwarded me this picture of Big Mo and Oogo celebrating Mo’s escape.

Good morning Hamsters. Snapping out of the shock or a brief shower here last evening around 6. Rain graced the front yard but not the back yard, and the main cloud cluster just to the west of us slowly moved away NW. Not enough to wet the bottom of the plastic rain gauge, so it goes down as a trace. Overcast a good share of the late afternoon kept the high temp to 101.

Started out at 75 this morning at 6, again reasonably comfortable until about 8:30, and prospects for another 100 loom. The fountain cheerily bubbling away on the patio is down about a gallon although it got 2 refill gallons late yesterday afternoon. Suspect nightly visitors, the sly ones we never see.

Where’s Moammar? Where’s Waldo? Methinks it ain’t over until it’s over. As for that ghastly picture above, must you?

However, there has been controversy over the choice of Lei Yixin, a 57-year-old master sculptor from Changsha in Hunan province, to carry out the work. Critics have openly asked why a black, or at least an American, artist was not chosen and even remarked that Dr King appears slightly Asian in Mr Lei’s rendering.

Your comment reminds me of an experience I had while sitting on a jury for an aggravated robbery trial (dang near a murder trial, the woman was able to get away screaming into the night, fortunately).

Suspect and partner robbed a woman’s home, pistol whipping her twice during the attack. Victim never saw partner’s face, but made sure she got a good look at main perp. That alone earned her the second pistol strike on her cheekbone, and she was told to quit looking at him. As aforementioned, she managed to untie herself and escape to a neighbor’s house while the perp went to retrieve his gun from his partner. A neighbor took her in and called the police. The police found perp and partner walking a few blocks away, picked them up in separate squad cars, and took them back for ID. Victim waved off the first guy, then went into hysterics when she saw the perp’s face, which the police took as a positive ID. They were picked up around 12:30 am. Remember – in the squad cars at 12:30 in the morning.

Perp’s girlfriend and her family swore during trial that perp was with them, playing dominoes on their front porch, from 9:45 pm to 2:45 am. Every single one of them, except the father, who had disappeared and could not be found. The cops said he was the only responsible member of the family, and probably didn’t want to be involved in being pressured to lie for the scumbag.

We convicted the perp because the timeline didn’t support the story. If he was lying about that, he was probably lying about everything else, we assumed. The victim was very convincing, as well. There was a bleeding heart lib on the jury who wanted to give the perp the benefit of the doubt, because “If she was hit in the face, she probably couldn’t see his face very well.” We had to point out that she looked before she was hit, she was making sure she could identify her attacker (despite the obvious danger to herself, brave woman), and the perp and the family was OBVIOUSLY LYING. Lib juror finally agreed to vote on conviction. It was all I could do to keep from slapping the silliness out of him.

We were told by the DA afterwards that the perp had been stopped with a friend previously, with ski masks and sawed off shotguns in the trunk of their car. The cops didn’t have enough evidence to hold them, so they had to let them go. We felt better then about the conviction, though we then wished that we had given him more prison time.

I keep thinking about the girlfriend’s family. I could not believe that they were so stupid that they stuck to the story that he was sitting on their front porch at the same time he was sitting in a squad car.

It takes a certain small amount of intelligence to comprehend that the defendant can’t be on a porch and in a police car at the exact same time. And there can be a dumba$$ on any jury.

How many folks remember Moby & Matthews? For you folks in Rio Llinda, one of them would be “Jon Matthews”. FWIW; I used to listen to him a lot and I really liked him, this would be before I found out that he was a Pervert. He got 7 years probation,.. I think, then broke his probation and went to jail for 3 years. He’s out now, I guess. Link here and here
Sad, Sad, case he ruined his life and damaged a child FOREVER for what?! Exposing himself?! Can anyone explain to me why that might give you a thrill? I just don’t get it.

Google is my friend; Jon Matthews settles case with accuser’s family.

A year after he pleaded guilty to felony indecency with a child, one-time radio host Jon Matthews on Tuesday agreed to a $261,690 settlement with his accuser’s family.

Hi Dave, is it just us tonight? What is going on with the Hamsters? Is it the heat exhaustion?

I am glad you posted these updates on Jon Matthews. I was a long-time fan and never could understand how he ended up ruining his life. I don’t recall ever hearing a hint about the earlier incident. I think I rationalized it as probably a health issue. I know he had a heart bypass and that leaves you in a different state of mind, if not downright depression, for quite a while. But now it seems like he was just a closet stinker all along.

I am not going for #100 tonight!

#67 mharper, I of course, thought it was a set up because he was hated so much, but NO, HE WAS a pervert! I just can’t understand why he didn’t try to control himself. He was a grown man, who knows what he did to the girl. She will ALWAYS remember that day and wonder why a man that she treated like a grandfather did that! She may never really trust a man. SAD, VERY SAD!

One more thing for me tonight, a second go at a topic from last night. Some of ya ghouls were talking about eating squirrels, and then #90 Texpat mentioned lead contamination in squirrel meat, reported to be an error.

“A blender that was used to process the tissues into usable samples was defective and was identified as the source of the lead contamination,” the Environmental Protection Agency said

Then #106 Shannon got in a good shot

I assume New Jersey promptly outlawed blenders.

But what has been preying on my mind, and I just verified, is that squirrels are known to gnaw on the lead vent covers that stick up out of our roofs above the plumbing pipes. Here’s a typical citation:

So tell me again what good eatin’ those little bushy tailed nibblers are…

Well maybe that EVERYONE of them that I’ve ever kilt and ate lived miles form the nearest house. These would be wild critters that are VERY hard to slip up on because they are not used to seeing people, not at all like the ones in your yard. 😉

Yabut you generally don’t hunt in your front yard. Plus the cur dogs and barn cats usually keep the limb bacon from taking up residence around the house.
