Wednesday Presidential Aging Open Comments

A comment from Simple on the Michelle Bachmann issue triggered a thought last night. Simple made the point that we are electing people and not Saints. This is true as far as he took it.
If one were to take the next step, we can see that the job takes a tremendous toll on the occupant of the office. I found a site that had before & after pictures of all the presidents from Gerald Ford onward. All show significant aging; some moreso than others.

TT, your Document Corrupter find reminded me of a boss I once had, a cranky woman like El Gordo thinks all female bosses are. I had to turn in something to her every week in a spreadsheet and she always came to my office and complained the formatting of it was wrong. Although it looked fine on my PC, it… Read more »

Yup. I pretty much know all the Lone Star Beer cap puzzles but every once in a while I can’t figure one out. Have no fear.

You don’t think the title is somewhat long, do you?

Dude, of course it is. You should shorten it to: “OHMM/YCHSOTIBSSHWCFGAWHTFNS?”
Now now, don’t thank me. Just send me 10% from all royalties for my suggestion.

one embraces her femininity while the other seems to have difficulty dealing with it and suppressing her feelings, resulting in physical pain from time to time.

This is nothing but psychobabble.

TT;

So, even though women may get emotional, don’t you for a moment think it makes them ineffective.

I agree but in the case of Mrs. Darren, it makes her pretty damn scary. 😯

El Gordo but one embraces her femininity while the other seems to have difficulty dealing with it and suppressing her feelings, resulting in physical pain from time to time. ????????? MB seems fully happy with her femininity. The headaches may be stress related, which would be cause for concern, since the presidency is one day of stress after another. But… Read more »

You left off Jeane Kirkpatrick on the list of exceptional women who don’t fit the mold. Regular readers know that I acknowledge that of a US population of approximately 150 million women that there are a few who I do admire, in addition to my mother of course. Contrast and compare Sarah Palin to Ms. Bachman. Both are conservative and… Read more »

56 mharp No ma’am. This grueling, masochistic regimen is completely self-inflicted and self-directed. I’m writing a book about it. The current title is, “7am Pool Wrinkles – Or How Many Months/Years Can He Stave Off The Inevitable Back Surgery So His Wife Can First Go Ahead With Her Triple Fusion Neck Surgery?” You don’t think the title is somewhat long,… Read more »

Hmm, Shannon — is this German “babe” just another participant in the therapy, or is this your actual assigned therapist? I was assuming the latter from your original comment.

It’s a real mystery.
I get along famously with the other seven octagenarian ladies that round out the 6am crowd. I’ve decided the handsome, newly-buff, relative youngster in her midst reminds her of a long ago jilted lover experience. 🙂

Let’s add Texanadian’s Trophy Wife, who loaded up the family valuables ahead of the wildfiles approaching their home, while her man was on an overseas work assignment. Yea, TW!

What’s so strange about wimmins needing to bring their men freshly-prepared sammiches and ice-cold beers?

Just don’t ask us what we do to those sammiches and beers before we bring ’em.

When I was battling HISD for the proper education for my son, I cried. I cried a lot. I was put through eight hour long meetings (no food breaks, only restroom breaks), was ganged up on (our last ARD meeting had 15 people from HISD, while my hubby and I were only allowed 1 friend to take notes and three… Read more »

You don’t need to look much further than most local news sites or blogs to see tirades based on race, politics or assumptions.

If you took away “tirades based on race, politics or assumptions” there wouldn’t be many news outlets left in the world.
