It seems that we’re finally getting a reasonable chance of some of the wet stuff falling from the sky. It’ll take more than one rain – or one week of rain – to catch us up, but I’m not taking any chances.
And I hope to find this.
And not this.
Be glad I didn’t pick the obviously “happy” versions!
When the rain starts, I plan on grabbing some iced tea and sitting on my porch for a while.

Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court issued one of the best and most important decisions ever on federalism. The Court unanimously held that not just states but individuals have standing to challenge federal laws as violations of state sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. This decision is as radical in the direction of liberty as the New Deal was radical in the direction of socialism. Click here to read the decision.

Here is our favorite passage: βFederalism secures the freedom of the individual. It allows States to respond, through the enactment of positive law, to the initiative of those who seek a voice in shaping the destiny of their own times without having to rely solely upon the political processes that control a remote central power.β We will put this precedent to work immediately when we file our opening brief in the Obamacare lawsuit Monday, and also in our defense of Save Our Secret Ballot against the NLRB challenge, and many more cases to come.

I remember inthe good old days when people would complain about hurricanes. Now that’s about the only solution to our statewide drought that I can see. Funny, seems we have a drought every year about this time – I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that our planet is tilted at a 23.5 degree angle to the sun and revolves around the sun as well – no, it couldn’t be that simple – it’s got to be excessive animal flatulence or something reasonable like that to cause this condition every year.

Biden and top Democratic and Republican lawmakers aim to reduce the country’s stubborn budget deficits by $4 trillion over the next 10 years in order to give lawmakers the political cover to raise the debt ceiling.
Unfortunately, we’re in the hole to the tune of more like $100 trillion when you count off-balance sheet stuff. Mathematics is a cruel mistress.

Having “off balance sheet” stuff is just a really Washingtonian BS nice-speak way of lying and stealing. Using the U3 unemployment numbers as the “unemployment rate” is equally as misleading; the real unemployment rate is closer to 20%. My understanding is that the U3 rate is only the number of people receiving unemployment benefits; the U6 number is the number of able bodied people who are out of work and are available to work.

Indeed, the “unemployment rate” is another good example of the kind of tricks they play to make our situation not look quite so dire.

#4 EG: While the month of June usually is dry, we have not had much rain this year at all. According to the Houston Comical today, our average rainfall Jan to date is 22.something inches, and we have received only 7.something inches- we are almost a foot and a half behind our average it is cause for concern. There are wild fires burning all over the state, there is damned little grass for the cattle to eat, outside those places where irrigation is used. We had a really bad year for cattle 2 or 3 years ago and a whole lot of broodstock animals went to the slaughterhouse and this one is shaping up to be worse. Initially beef prices will fall due to over-supply but then they will rise significantly as the net number of cattle have significantly decreased. Today one can buy whole ribeyes from Sam’s for less than $7/lb, fall of 2012 they will likely be over $12/lb.

Here it is in a nutshell folks. Be sure to take a good long gander at the chart. Have we had enough of being lied to by both political parties yet? Probably not. It’s more emotionally satisfying to demonize political opponents than it is to take a critical, impartial look at mathematical reality.

#8 Dooooodski: You are correct sir and the complicity of the LSM has gone beyond bordering on conspiracy. Imagine the caterwalling we would hear if an R were POTUS and we had a U3 of over 9%. I can almost guarantee you that they, the LSM, would be constantly pointing to U6 to magnify just how bad it is. How much talk have you heard about homelessness since PF made the POTUS? We have the worst economy since the Carter Malaise of the late 70’s early 80’s and the fundamentals are the worst since the Great Depression. The lefty LSM and this admin are die hard Keynesians and that policy has failed each and every time it has been tried. Even Keynes himself said that one should never borrow to spend stimulus dollars. I do not think that we can dig our way out of this; there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and it is the DEFAULT TRAIN!

#9 – Mr. BC. I’m sure glad that the Comical pointed out the absence of rainfall this year, otherwise how in the world would I have ever known? Seems to me that just the other day I was reading about flooding in the midwest around the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, but I guess that is somehow related to the ice cap melting and has nothing to do with rainfall amounts.
My point was/is that hurricanes are good for Texas – they recharge the Edwards and Ogallala Aquifers, provide fresh water runoff for the states’ bays and estuaries, fill our water reservoirs which generate electricity and provide reliable water supplies for our populus, replenish the groundwater and agricultural production, and so on. Additionally, hurricanes are mother natures’ earth cooling vehicles as they take surface heat and deposit it up in the stratosphere where the temperature is something like 40 degrees below zero. So I’m in favor of more hurricanes rather than fewer, and I predict a banner year as hot as it’s been. Bring ’em on.

That is OUTSTANDING! It’s about time that those who are affected by laws are realized to have standing in court. I get tired of being told what I feel and how I have to pay doesn’t matter.

That’s one thing that gets me about so-called scientists. Every few years they start talking about a new way to inhibit the formation of hurricanes. That has to be the most idiotic quest ever taken by man. You wanna see some monster hurricanes that wipe cities off the face of the map? Start fiddling with hurricane formation and let the oceans really heat up.

#15 EG: I have no gripes whatsoever with cat 1 or 2 storms, you are correct in that they bring much needed water to our parched land. Your comment here:
Funny, seems we have a drought every year about this time β I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that our planet is tilted at a 23.5 degree angle to the sun and revolves around the sun as well β no, it couldnβt be that simple β itβs got to be excessive animal flatulence or something reasonable like that to cause this condition every year.
caused me to question whether you understood that this year is not like other years due to the months prior to June without getting any rain. I distinctly remember it being really dry in mid June for the last several years only to have good rain at the end of June to allow for traditional 4th o July celebrations. The crack in the ground (where it is not irrigated) now are worse than ever in my memory. We need a few cat 1 storms just to catch up.

Brought forward from last night’s post under the Hot, Hot, Hot section
Talk about hot, Iβm down right hot. Mitch McConnell, senatorial leader of the spineless and spine challenged Republicans is now saying that they will probably go ahead and kick the can down the road and raise the debt ceiling (just a little you know, and just for a short time you know) in exchange for a promise of $4 trillion in debt reduction sometime later (probably around 2050 or so). What a weasely bunch of republicans we have there in the Senate β John McSwine, Hayseed Graham, Olympia Snowe, (oh yes KBH and John Cornyn also) just to name a few β and now this guy. No wonder we are doomed as a nation.
Iβll be anxious to see how Congressman Olsen votes this time around β heβs been with the House leadership all the way in spite of representing presumably the most conservative district in the country, so canβt tell if he wants to return or not.

It matters less how hot it is here than it does where the hurricanes actually form. What’s the weather like in the Caribbean and tropical Atlantic like these days compared to average?

With the prospect of potential rain this week, I went out this morning and put some seeds in the ground. At first, it wasn’t too bad outside. There was a breeze, and it was almost pleasant. Then I started moving around, lugging the hose (the plumber who worked on this house forgot to put a hose bib on the back side of the house!), and I actually shoveled some compost. I got to know the fire ants making their home in and around my garden – Sevin dust to the rescue! By the time I got the beds ready, the seeds in place, and the garden watered again, I was dripping sweat like I was standing in my shower. I was out there less than an hour. I don’t know how Hubby does it. (BTW – he says they’re having to jackhammer the DIRT to get to water mains. Not concrete – DIRT!)
I guess we’ll see how things go. It’s been a struggle just to keep things alive. Since I’ve rigged some partial shade over two of the beds, the plants seem a little happier. Now, if I can just keep that dadblasted rabbit away…

Hereβs an arresting statistic that economist Richard Vedder thinks goes a long way to explaining the rapid rise in college tuitions: 80 percent of faculty at the University of Texas at the flagship campus in Austin teach fewer than half the students. In view of the fact that faculty salaries make up the largest expense at the university, one simple change would reduce tuition. Get the 80 percent back into the classroom.

#25 Shannon: You have the mantra in college “Publish or Perish”. These wiss-wads have completely forgotten that the primary mission of college IS TO TEACH UNDERGRADUATES. Now college is designed to produce more dem voters and in all but the hard sciences (physics, chemistry, engineering, etc) they are producing functional (business wise) illiterates.
When I was in college, late 70’s early 80’s, the really good profs actually taught class but were in constant fear that they were going to lose their jobs or not get tenure. The really good profs did not have so much time to “commit research” and therefore did not toe the line.
I think at the bottom line, tenure is the main problem. -

re PIIGS:
One would think that our leaders would look to the empirical record and see what happens when you “run the money press”; look at pre WWII Germany, Argentina, Chile, Zimbabwe, Taiwan, Brazil, etc. These countries all did in the last 100 years what the USA is now doing and the result was identical, runaway inflation, destruction of wealth and unfathomable misery. One would think that our “leaders” would pull their head out from their collective rectums and see what they are doing and where they are going. Both parties are guilty, particularly the old guard leadership, and the vast bulk of the D’s and to a much lesser extent the R’s. -

This sounds good, at first, but then it gets really bad.
WASHINGTON β The Supreme Court has blocked a federal lawsuit by states and conservation groups trying to force cuts in greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.
The court said Monday that the authority to seek reductions in emissions rests with the Environmental Protection Agency, not the courts. The ruling was 8-0.
EPA says it will decide by next year whether to order utilities to cut emissions of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. The lawsuit targeted the five largest emitters of carbon dioxide in the United States, four private companies and the federal Tennessee Valley Authority.
The Obama administration sided with the power companies in this case.So here you have a group of unelected terd-nozzles about to bludgeon the only successful state in the union (job creation wise) into oblivion, just to make things fair. And to make matters even worse, it is all based on really faulty “science” and outright fraud.

#32 It was a correct decision based on precedent. They could rule no other way. The EPA does have the authority to regulate emissions. The (bad) precedent was set last year with the SCOTUS ruling 5-4 that the EPA could regulate CO2 as a pollutant.

Hammy: can the legislature overrule the EPA? I know that they can ZERO fund them and, in effect, cut their ability to do anything so ultimately, this BS goes right back to the House, where ALL SPENDING BILLS MUST ORIGINATE. It is high time that the R’s grow some testicles and adhere to the golden rule: He who has the gold makes the rules. John Boehner is the modern day equivalent in the House that Trent Wissin Lott was in the Senate.

They could certainly revise the Clean Air Act to specifically exclude CO2 as a pollutant. Barry would veto it, though.

I’ve been trying to contact someone with the mobility/sidewalk obstruction permitting office with the City of Houston to ask about three worksites with “issues”.
The number on one of their forms is out of service.
I found another number, and got a receptionist, who informed me that both inspectors are out for training today. When I asked for a supervisor – our customers need their bids! – there was hesitation, and then I was informed that there were no supervisors available, either.Unbelievable. A whole department shut down, without any method of leaving messages, or having anyone on call, and no other person who could answer questions. Your tax dollars NOT at work.
Where’s my damn Valium?

Understanding Engineers
A priest, an ophthalmologist, and an engineer were golfing one morning behind a particularly slow group of golfers.
The engineer fumed, “What’s with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!” The doctor chimed in, “I don’t know, but I’ve never seen such inept golf!”
The priest said, “Here comes the greens keeper. Let’s have a word with him.”He said, “Hello, George. What’s wrong with that group ahead of us? They’re rather slow, aren’t they?” The greens keeper replied, “Oh, yes. That’s a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we let them play for free anytime.”
The group fell silent for a moment. Then the priest said, “That’s so sad. I think I’ll say a special prayer for them.” The ophthalmologist added, “Good idea. And maybe I could examine them to see if there’s anything I can do for them.”
They were silent for a moment.
Then the engineer said, “Why can’t they play at night?”

To the optimist, the glass is half-full.To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Three engineering students were gathered together discussing who must have designed the human body. One said, “It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints.”Another said, “No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections.”
The last one said, “No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline adjacent to a recreational area?”

#38 Bonecrusher
I reported that last week. There’s also a series of house fires being blamed on copper thieves. It seems that they’re taking the gas copper lines from vacant houses. The houses later go BOOM. There was a group of thieves that were also brazen enough to steal railroad lines! Yeah, a derailed train is worth stealing the rails.
Buncha oxygen-wasting bags of water and chemicals.

Does anyone really believe that this is sincere? Does anyone really believe that the omission was “an accident”?
“Regrettably, a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance that was in that feature was edited out. It was not done to upset anyone and we’d like to apologize to those of you who were offended by it.“
Translation: ‘We’re only saying we’re sorry to those who are genuinely pizzed off at the continuing degeneration of our once great country. In truth we did it on purpose because we want to divorce our nation from the antiquated belief in the FSM that is holding us back’.

#40 TT: The difference is that now they are even stealing the transformers. Those things are big, heavy, I think they may hold a charge even after they are disconnected, and at one time contained polychlorinated bi-phenols (PCBs ) to cool them. Transformers are difficult and dangerous to handle, particularly iffn you don’t know whatcher doin.

Can you believe that they did not include pictures?

I think the headline says it all. In the body of the story (no pun intended, but what the heck) it mentions that it happened in 2008.

Comedian Steve Crowder has been blacklisted from Comedy Central.
According to Crowderβmy sometime colleague at PJTVβhis manager submitted his work to some producers at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. One senior producer wrote to the manager to say, βSteven is definitely a talented guy,β but βwe never book conservative pundits.β Crowder then made one of his weekly YouTube videos in which he displayed the letter and discussed the incident. Mostly, he did this by way of promoting his friend Benjamin Shapiroβs new book Primetime Propaganda which, aptly enough, exposes TVβs tacit blacklist of conservatives.
And I think this is the best part of the article:
This is not Crowderβs opinion, by the way. Crowder has adopted a philosophical and forgiving attitude in both his videos and our private conversations. He points out Stewart has the right to have anyone on his show he wants. I agree. Itβs not the ban on conservative pundits I object to. As I say: thatβs par for the course. But Crowder has as much right to publicize that ban as Stewart has to put it in place. After all, if Stewart is ashamed of the policy, he should stop it. If heβs not ashamed, he shouldnβt mind when it becomes public. The Daily Showβs response to Crowderβs video was simply despicable.

they may hold a charge even after they are disconnected
The only way a transformer can hold a charge is if there is a capacitor integrated in it (think power supplies where capacitors are part of the circuit to filter out ripple).
*update: even with a cap across the coils it wouldn’t hold a charge as the cap would discharge across said coils as soon as power was removed*
BTW, there really is no reason those guys couldn’t golf at night.

Leaders of a national Hispanic organization are criticizing President Barack Obama for skipping their annual conference for the third consecutive year after he promised as a candidate in 2008 that he would return as president.
According ot my understanding, if the next NALEO conference is held the same time next year, Obama will have that one chance to fulfill his promise.

SALT LAKE CITY β A majority of Utah voters believe Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, has been in office too long and should be replaced, a new Deseret News/KSL-TV poll shows.
The poll by Dan Jones & Associates found only 38 percent of registered voters agree that it’s important to re-elect Hatch in 2012 because of his seniority. Fifty-nine percent said after 36 years, it’s time for someone new.
Excellent news. And in today’s policital climate, I highly doubt Democrat Matheson would win. I say Chaffez all the way.

A pretty good take on the musical “Book of Mormon”.
“Satire, like blasphemy, is not supposed to be crowd-pleasing entertainment,” Farmer concluded. “It is supposed to be discomfiting. Instead of inspiring religious debate, ‘The Book of Mormon’ has mainly inspired a lot of self-admiration from pop culture mavens, people who evidently believe that singing Mormons and starving Africans are now retro-cool.”
“As Eric Cartman might say: ‘Lame!’”
No fewer than 11 of the contributors to the Washington Post’s On Faith blog weighed in this week with their responses to the question, “‘The Book of Mormon’: Is faith funny?”
One of the strongest of those opinions was that future generations will cringe at the “Book of Mormon” musical the way many Americans do today at the former national hit “Amos and Andy,” said John Mark Reynolds, a philosophy professor at Biola University.
“The Book of Mormon is a minstrel show for our present age with Mormons as the joke,” Reynolds said, adding that “Broadway has given aid and comfort to the mob of ignorant folk who know nothing of modern Mormonism outside of their prejudices.”
“Meanwhile,” Reynolds concluded, “the actual Mormons in our midst will keep paying taxes, making strong families with children, and dying to protect the rights of a decayed and decadent theater ‘elite.’
“I stand in solidarity with my Mormon neighbors.”

As the mother of a toddler, I think itβs important for moms to come forward and quit being afraid of discipline thatβs been tested by time. Moms tend to keep this a private matter, to avoid conflict or hard discussions with other parents. However, the Gonzales case should cause us to speak out in protest of an overreaching court.
Thatβs why Iβm saying that Iβve spanked all three of my kids, and they arenβt raised yet. Spanking is far less emotionally manipulative than twenty nagging reprimands, itβs fast, and itβs certainly effective. And by the way, itβs legal.
So, Judge Longoria, come and get me.
LOL, that’s superb!

Good afternoon Hamsters. Moist 77 at 6 this morning but not miserable because the breeze was around and getting stronger as daylight prevailed. Variable now from the S, SSW with intermittent swirls W. It looks and feels like a weather change is afoot. Let us pray it doesn’t fizzle.
We can apprecitate Tedtam’s hubby needing a jackhammer to dig through the concrete-hard dirt. Had one fencepost replaced 3 months ago, and even then the dirt was so dried out and hard it was about a 2 hour job even with watering the ground around it. Two more broken posts in a pasture crossfence will have to wait until there’s enough rain to soften the ground. Fortunately they’re at a gateway that stays open and aren’t totally broken off.
It’s 95 and 36% humidity. A juvenile squirrel is rolling around in bark mulch under a burr oak, seemingly having a great time and occasionally pulling small strips of bark off the tree. Must be a delicacy that he eats immediately or buries in the mulch. Or perhaps there’s not much else to eat, as most of the fallen acorns and pecans from last Fall are gone. Now he’s searching nearby in the pasture grass and under the horse mint that is really sturdy stuff–emerald green and thriving where watered and hanging on and green in the dryland. The horses don’t eat it. He found something and scampered out of sight. Now he’s back carrying it in his mouth and buries it in the lawn just watered last night, so the digging is easier. He deserves a nap.

Bring on the rain for sure
Maxwell said an estimated 35 homes, 20 out buildings and 4,000 acres have already been destroyed from the fire that began possibly from an ember from a charcoal pit in the southern part of the county. Officials said they don’t have an exact address on where the blaze ignited and couldn’t confirm whether it started in Grimes County or Waller County, but that it was somewhere very close to the boundary between the two counties.
The fire moved northward through Grimes County and is currently between SH 105, FM 1774 and CR 362. Folks who live in the wind direction or in the smoke area are advised to prepare for evacuation, the Texas Forest Service said. People evacuating should pack a bag for a night and grab any necessary medications and prescriptions as well as take any pets that can’t take care of themselves.

Steyn can be annoying but he’s got a point about Lil’ Lindsay:
Alternatively, hereβs a suggestion for Senator Graham: Why donβt you shut up? Not permanently, but just long enough to:
a) reflect whether this apparently reflexive response of yours is really appropriate for a citizen-legislator in a self-governing republic;
b) articulate a rationale for the Libyan mission that would be so persuasive it would save you the trouble of making a fool of yourself by insisting that those who have the temerity to disagree with you are beyond the bounds of public discourse;
and c) spend ten minutes in a darkened room with a nice cup of herbal tea and ponder, re your assertion that those who wonβt βshut upβ are βempowering Qaddafiβ, whether that line has any credibility coming from a member of the Congressional jet set who only two years ago was βempowering Qaddafiβ by taking tea in the pock-marked transvestiteβs tent as part of some greasy little Senatorial outreach mission.

Olby moves to Gorezilla’s failed network tonight where he’s being billed as savior:
By what measure Olbermann will be judged a success is not clear.
On MSNBC he averaged more than a million viewers per night. Current, which is available in 60 million households, averaged a mere 23,000 viewers in primetime in fourth quarter, according to Nielsen.
Available in 60 million households and averaged 23,000 viewers??? Bwahaha! Capturing 0.04% of viewers. That’s some winner, eh boss?

Capturing 0.04% of viewers
If that is considered a success, then a drug to “cure cancer” 1% of the time would be a real blockbuster. Unfortunately I don’t think the real success for stage 2 cancer and beyond is much better than that, if at all.

This fire thing is serious. Some dear church friends’ home burned to the ground in that Plantersville fire last night and now two more families we know are being evacuated. PLEASE dear God bring that rain ALL WEEK.
I would also like to point out that perhaps someone was careless with the embers from their charcoal pit but I know two of the major wildfires I’ve heard of recently were started by a) a tree falling on a power line and b) the bearings on an 18 wheeler. It gets to a point where everything is so dry it’s a tinderbox and the tiniest thing could set the whole state ablaze I think.

Hubby told me of a case recently where an apartment building was being sold. Buyer asked about the utility bills. “What bills?” the Seller asks. “Water, what’s the water bill run?” Buyer specified. (Guilty look) “I don’t get a water bill,” Seller said. Buyer notified the city that something funky was going on, and he declined to purchase said building. It seems that somewhere back in the mid- to late 80’s the meter got pulled, probably for non-payment. Someone illegally connected directly to the main, and the whole building has been using free water for years and years. Hubby is waiting to see if he gets to hear what the result of the criminal investigation is going to be.

P.S. to those who know me I go this Friday to the French consulate to apply for my visa. I fully expect to be denied. It’s been a complicated process (I should blog about it, I’d have to repeat the story less often) but it seems France isn’t so keen on people coming to live in their country these days. Weird huh? Oh well I shan’t be too disappointed if I don’t end up going, I’d just as soon not move away from the Promised Land!!

Theft of any public utility is a low-minded crime. Taxpayers and honest ratepayers are picking up the tab for your shiftless a$$. Soon after I moved to Houston in 1981, there was a case of a local jeweler who was caught with some sort of meter-modifying gadget or bypass on the electric meter at his store. I think he just paid a big fine, and went on in the next couple of decades to become wealthy, high-society, famously philanthropic. Me, I still remember that illegal act and I will never forget it. He’s dead now but I would never patronize that jewelry store.

Yup, that was I.W. Marks. I agree. I never have and never will do business with them. Not that I’m much of a jewelry buying kind of guy anyway, but when I do I patronize Shannon Fine Jewelry on FM1960. Great folks over there.

Dude, I was going to mention that but when I hit refresh you beat me to it. I lived a few blocks from the store at the time.
There was another story about the same time. Maybe a few years earlier. A large power user learned to disconnect and reconnect their electrical loads to match HL&P’s metering. They would unload at 15 minute intervals to clip the peak metering function, then reconnect. HL&P noticed their generators running unchained and then reloaded. Not illegal as I recall the story but they worked something out.

We’re approaching a 50 year record drought. Several people are calling all nite long Sat
complaining about low/no water pressure and have been intermittently since first week of May. And this A Hole is hooking a hose to my flush valve/ hydrant at nite and watering his pasture. I hope the utility nails him to the wall. I have some unique tortures I’d like to inflict on him. -

Well, I’m heading to my tv room to watch Law & Order: Los Angles. It’s advertised as a new episode, but I expect it will be a new, unaired, in-the-can show left over from before they did the cast shake-up. This series made my cut, but it seems to be teetering on the brink of cancellation.
I wanted to see who’d get the coveted 100 tonight, but I gotta get my popcorn ready. So “manana”, without or without any special characters.

If you absolutely, positively want to overpay for jewelry, then I.W. Marks is the store for you.

Man was Monday a crappy day! Got roped into a meeting that started @ 8 and went on until 11:55, broke for lunch and was to regroup @ 1, luckly I had a stupid class to go to. π I never thought that I’d be HAPPY to go to one of the manditory safety classes, live and learn I guess. BUTT life is GOOD! The Wife reminded me of my great daddy’s day weekend and She even figgered out the most important part,…no it wasn’t going to PF Chang’s place in Sugar land with Daughter, Son, and their spouses, nope, it was Saturday when the Boy called and wanted to go with me to the Gun Show. He always works on Saturday and since he’s married and has a LIFE I don’t see him a lot. When he was younger he loved to go to the Gun Show and always talked me into getting him something, from cheap the crappy knives to blow guns and air rifles. Hey this time he got a Kahr PM 40. π

MegletTx Where the He!! have you been? Dang good to hear from you, sugar. So youβre heading to France?
I’ve been lurking…reading posts but not getting into comments much cause I’ve been so freaking busy. Today hasn’t been much good for getting anything accomplished cause I’m so tired from partying all weekend (went to a friend’s wedding out of state and had to get up at 3:30 AM Sunday to get on my plane home yick) so instead I came here. π Just kidding, love y’alll…. π I’m going to work on a post about the latest in the France saga and why I may or may not be going, but if you go to my bloggy you can read about why I’m trying to go. This Friday is my appointment at the French consulate in Houston (had to make it like three weeks in advance, they had no openings in between!) and I figger they’ll tell me no right off but who knows maybe they’ll decide I’m harmless enough. Probably doesn’t make a bit of sense to any of you without knowing the visa drama but I will post about that on my blog SOON I promise. π (I have a sticky note to do that tomorrow…)

#60 Texanadian. Prayers for the safety of your home and for your peace of mind, especially while you’re gone. The late news tonight is not comforting re: the wildfires and forced evacuations.
#93 Shannon. How about some midnight skulking to shut off the stolen water and disconnect the hose to the neighbor’s pasture? And take pics to document it. Hope your home is safe.
Right, let’s all pray hard for rain while the chances are at hand this week.
