Are you people having a good Labor Day weekend? Tomorrow is May Day, when workers around the world celebrate their workerhood.
Buncha slackers.
It’s also become a day for protesting and agitating for more “rights” for workers, as if being able to just up and quit and go find a better job isn’t good enough for these people.
It’s also become a day for your garden-variety pinkos, commies, anarchists, bolshies, and other far-left malcontents to “protest the plight of the worker” – as if any of them have or could ever hold a job. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to really care about workers per se; they seem to be more concerned about tearing “the system” down (whatever that means) while being totaly oblivious to the fact that “the system” is what is keeping them from getting their a$$es whipped by productive people.
btw – it’s been going on for a while…

Files suggest elder Obama forced to leave Harvard
BOSTON (AP) — President Barack Obama’s father was forced to leave Harvard University before completing his Ph.D. in economics because the school was concerned about his personal life and finances, according to newly public immigration records.
Harvard administrators, the memo stated, “were having difficulty with his financial arrangements and couldn’t seem to figure out how many wives he had.”
In 1961, while he was an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii, the school’s foreign student adviser called an immigration official and said Obama had recently married Stanley Ann Dunham – the president’s mother – despite already having a wife in Kenya.
Obama told the adviser that he had divorced his wife in Kenya. He told the president’s mother the same thing, though she would later learn it was a lie.
The immigration memos, contained in the elder Obama’s Immigration and Naturalization file, were given to a Boston Globe reporter in 2009 through a Freedom of Information request. The papers were first made public Wednesday by The Arizona Independent, a weekly newspaper. The Associated Press obtained copies of them on Friday.

Drudge headline; SF Chronicle:White House Lying.I say what’s your point? How can you tell if the White House crowd is lying? Just check to see if their lips are moving.
Update: In a pants-on-fire moment, the White House press office today denied anyone there had issued threats to remove Carla Marinucci and possibly other Hearst reporters from the press pool covering the President in the Bay Area.
Chronicle editor Ward Bushee called the press office on its fib:
Sadly, we expected the White House to respond in this manner based on our experiences yesterday. It is not a truthful response. It follows a day of off-the-record exchanges with key people in the White House communications office who told us they would remove our reporter, then threatened retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban, and then recanted to say our reporter might not be removed after all.
The Chronicle’s report is accurate.
If the White House has indeed decided not to ban our reporter, we would like an on-the-record notice that she will remain the San Francisco print pool reporter.
I was on some of those calls and can confirm Ward’s statement.
Messy ball now firmly in White House court.
BTW; This is an updated post from a few days ago.

Sarge was the first to post a link on Hamous’ thread to the article Super Dave quotes in #8.
I posted the following there in response:
April 30, 2011 at 10:45 am (Edit)
Anybody else remember why the author of the column linked by Sarge in #1 has an unusual past ?A. Bronstein was once married to Sharon Stone.
B. They went to the San Francisco Zoo in 2001 and Bronstein entered a cage where he was bitten on the foot by a Komodo Dragon.
I don’t know which of the above is more strange and weird.

Beck and Levin tear into Trump.
Levin notes: The Donald contributed to Anthony Weiner, Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, and Charlie Christ (noting that zero dollars went to Rubio), and Harry Reid. Also, Levin plays caudio of Trump declaring, Bush1 & 2 & Carter & Obama all being the worst president in the history of this country. 😕
Beck is, well, more Becklike on Trump. Very sarcastic in attacking Trump; but makes good points. In the Hot Air post, Allahpundit correctly observes:
that’s one of my secret pleasures in watching his candidacy — observing how some “true conservatives” (not all or most, but some) who’ve spent years ripping on RINOs will instantly start cooing over a tough-talking populist even though he’s betrayed every core right-wing principle in the book.

Good grief. For some people even the truth revealed is not the truth. No I am not talking about OBC
However, conspiracy theorists have already started accusing the government of a cover up. One said: ‘We know what we saw. Powerful people in the military just don’t want us to see this.’

Good afternoon Hamsters. Have been busy the past couple of days watering the elephants–aka flowerbeds–to keep them alive after all the hard work (and expense) that went into planting them. Regrettably the lovely cooler weather left late last night when we dropped to 69 before midnight and woke to 74 and semi-mugly at 6 this morning. Overcast most of the day and looking soooo much like rain but not enough to be fooled into skipping watering the yard. And North Dakota is under a blizzard warning….
#14 GTOtracker, yesss—let’s all purchase something on the the unionistas’ attack grocery list and help our conservative Badger brethern and sistern send a message to the thugs in WI. We’re partial to Sargento cheeses in this household, so our purchases of that brand will increase. Would love to have some Badger cohorts set up a P.O. box so we supporters could send them labels of the forbidden items we’ve bought to be flung through the unionistas’ mail slots. Will suggest that to the blogmaster of BadgerBlogger.com. 🙂
Oh, and fix bayonets.

There’s a bit of a difference though. Where we’re using sticky notes with hand written messages, they are using Union Dues to print up stuff like this. -

I sort of felt like going out and engaging in some thuggery to celebrate May Day, but when I called the local union office to see if they had any place they were going to incite a riot or anything no one answered. I guess they are on strike or something. Maybe I can just send out a few threatening e-mails instead.

Another thought I had – you could use the Coors to simmer your Johnsonville brats. Perilously close to the dark side I know, but sometimes you gotta walk the line.
You might as well use water.
I use beer that we accidentally overhop. It really stands up to the brats.

#71: Dang. I’ve just been leaving my phone number. I feel soooo…..soooooo….stoopid. 🙁
BTW: I left 2 on some pumps yesterday. They blew off before I could pump $10.04 into my tank. (yes, I meant to pump $10.04) I’ve got tape today. 🙂

#70 ST, Now that is a great find. 🙂
#69 GTOtracker42, Hmmm, this is all they could come up with? But after all this is Texas and not Wisconsin.
An on this May 1st, is it appropriate to holler May Day, May Day, May Day in reference to the thinking that produced the Unionista parties?

Well, the party was a success yesterday. Lovely Daughter and Aggie Beau got some gifts from their registry, and since Lovely will be moving to her own apartment soon (sob), she will be using some of them there until they consolidate residences when they get married. Our neighbor came over earlier in the day and gave her his gifts (a set of knives and a very nice camera). Lovely was literally jumping up and down in excitement over the camera.
Aggie Beau knows how to barbecue! He did a great job at the pit, and I had some friends come by and they helped me all day with the rest of the food prep and some of the cleanup. That was much appreciated, since my back went out early in the morning. I was in pain all day, and survived only with the help of my friends and several doses of ibuprofen.
My kale chips were a great hit. My wall of with and wisdom was also a hit. My older brother came out grinning and said “I would have been out a lot sooner, but I was busy reading her wall! My favorite one was…” I’m glad people like it, since I almost tore my shoulder out putting it together.
Today, I rubbed a lot of that blue stuff on my back and went to mass. Lovely and I had breakfast together and now she’s off to her first NFP class with Aggie Beau. As he explained yesterday: “I get to sit around for an hour and a half while someone tells me all about her hoo-ha.” I told him to watch it, since I was the mother and I didn’t want to hear him talking about anyone discussing my daughter’s hoo-ha. Now, they’re off to hoo-ha class, Hubby is out with his brother and mother, Handsome Son is either playing basketball or working, and I am home alone, blogging away, resting my back, and watching old TV on Channel 57. Right now I’m watching “The Streets of San Francisco”. Michael Douglas sure has changed. And earlier I snapped to the fact that Col. Potter from MASH was also a detective on “Dragnet”.

RE: Coors beer
IMO Coors is good for one thing and one thing only…… I won’t mention it in polite company. Oh wait this is hammie’s couch. 😉
I do like to soak my pinto beans in Coors btw.
Coors is a strange beer though. Back in the original “Banquet Beer” days it dubbed itself “America’s Fine Light Beer”. Now this was long before the proliferation of “light beers”. One thing that always cracked me up was when Coors turned out “Coors Light”…. “The Silver Bullet”……. Same great taste of Coors Banquet Beer only light. That was the original media push slogans and campaign verbatim.
Riddle me this if is Coors Banquet Beer is America’s Fine Light Beer, what then are they pushing with Coors Light? Or what were we really getting in Coors Banquet? Was it really not a fine light beer or what?
And yes I can recite from memory the Budweiser declaration on their heavy label. Not that anyone asked or cares mind you. Here memorize it for yourself and win friends and influence people at your next kegger.
“This is the famous Budweiser beer. We know of no brand produced by any other brewer which costs so much to brew and age. Our exclusive beechwood aging produces a taste, a smoothness and a drinkability you will find in no other beer at any price.”
Back in my day Pearl Light was the lightest beer made at the time @ 68 calories.
If you ever drank a Gillys Beer at Gillys it was first brewed and bottled by Shiner. Shiner could not keep up with production so Lonestar/Pearl picked up the packaging and distribution.

You know what’s weird about watching old TV shows?
The lack of cell phones. It just seems weird that the characters have to wait until they get to a phone to make a call, and to see an old handset.

AND we got good news on my bro-in-law’s cancer. He’s not out of the woods yet, but his cancer markers are at their lowest point since he started treatment. He was hoping to start work on Monday, but the doctor wouldn’t release him yet. He’ll probably have to go through another chemo round, but right now he looks really, really good.

Yellow Hair and I didn’t have any NFP classes. We had a “sponsor couple” we had to meet with four or five times a couple of months before we got married. We didn’t have to get into deep discussions of anyone’s hoo-ha, although our sponsor couple was a little more open about discussing their relationship than we were really comfortable with. :shudder:

I do not think I have ever tried a Coors beer. My dad used to guzzle it like it was going out of style when I was a boy. My grandparents used to own a house close to Lake LBJ. I remember sitting out on the front porch watching lighting storms at night and listening to the ol’ AM radio hiss and crackle. My dad and grandpa would be drinking Coors. It is funny how something as simple as that is one of my fondest childhood memories.

Coors was a very big deal in Midland when I was growing up there. Possibly because there was a Coors distribution center outside of town, between Midland and Odessa. That plant was a high-value target for high school graduation pranks, especially the sudsing up of a fountain in the front entry area off of the old I-20 highway. (The new I-20 bypasses both towns.)

TT, I had to look up NFP. I was not previously aware that the Catholic Church still had never sanctioned the birth control pill. For some reason, I thought it had.
Will Kate’s wedding dress design affect LD’s choice, or is that already a done deal? I read an article today that said Kate’s dress would probably lead to more modest styles being popular for a while at least.

#90 TT: I will take the bait. From your linkie thingie:
In addition, compared to women who had no intercourse at all, the semen-exposed women showed more elevated mood and less depression.
So the line I used way back when, “C’mon honey it will make both of us feel great” was true afterall.

Natural Family Planning
It’s more in-depth than the rhythm method, and is the recommended method of family planning for Catholic couples. It does not remove God from the intimacy between a man and woman, does not change any body functions, and allows the couple to be open to the transmission of life while still maintaining some control over the frequency thereof. -

Bin Laden has been martyred and THAT is the balance point to the US win folks. This does not mean we will now be in peace which we all know. If i was Obammy I would make this a very matter of fact event and nothing more. Hate to be a killjoy but this is nothing to celebrate. There are other in waiting.

2. grind the pigs up into sausage and feed it to the dogs

We should treat his body with respect and return it to his family. If we mutilate it or treat it with disrespect, it will only inflame other Islamofascists against “The Great Satan”. I bear no illusions that they will be grateful, but it will deny them further fuel for further indignation.
We all know it doesn’t take much to get their panties in a wad. They are professional panty-wadders extraordinaire.

We were watching CSI Miami when the big announcement about the big announcement took up much of the screen–twice–before CBS news horned in on the last 15 minutes of the show.
Chattering like the magpies they are, they likewise said what a great victory it is for Obama–must be the memo the WH sent out to all the adoring LSM.Switched to FNC to find Geraldo thrust into trying to anchor things while the news people phoned in as they rushed in from home. Geraldo gibbered as much as the CBS boys but kept a civil tongue and did not go into adoration mode, so I give him credit for ad libbing in a really awkward situation. So OBL the SOB is dead. May he rot in Hell. His acolytes are all around the world and will scarcely surrender their murderous plotting just because he’s attained room temp.

Does anyone really believe that a cheerful, chanting mob just somehow magically appeared at midnight at the WH to celebrate the One’s announcement? Maybe it was for consumption abroad since they seem to be able to raise rent-a-mobs on demand, to signal that our rent-a-mob is just as good as yours. but as far as I am concerned, seeing the circus atmosphere does not do justice to the significance of the event itself.

I just got done watching Smokey and the Bandit with Mrs. Darren, came to the computer and saw the AP title saying Obama declared Bin Laden dead. Looks like folks here have already commented on the matter. I’m very willing to give credit to Obama where credit is due.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. a small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability.”
That’s not it. Good on Obama for authoriizing this precise strike against Obama but the following is a much more appropriate to proclaim this victory:
Former President George W. Bush, whose entire presidency was defined by the September 11th attacks, said in a statement tonight that President Obama called him to inform him of the news of bin Laden’s death.
Bush called the operation a “momentous achievement” that “marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001.”
“I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude,” the former president said in a statement. “The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.”

I won’t happen with O in the WH, but a fitting end for the body of OBL would be the head on a pike made of Twin Towers steel at Ground Zero, body parts staked out in front of the Pentagon, and more parts staked out in that field at Shanksville, PA. Let the forces of Nature do their work in disposal. And let no one forget his crimes. He gave no respect to his victims and deserves none from us. So be it.

There must be some really bad news out there coming down to force him to play the OBL card at this time Normally he would wait until October before the election for the surprise. In fact, if I recall, the media was reporting early on before the Bush/Kerry election that OBL would magically be declared dead just before election time. This will soak up all the media oxygen, so who knows what is really happening.

Can’t these little guys simply live around an oil platform. And if they’re killed off, wouldn’t a rival species simply thrive in their place?

Good grief.

Small lizard sparks big debate in NM, Texas -
#135 – of course the lizards could (and do) thrive in the west Texas oilfields, but if Obama cannot use that to shut down the Texas economy (and of course the rest of the nation’s as well) further, he’ll just find something else. The goal is not to protect the lizard, the goal is to punish Texas.
