RIP Mr. Roach

With what seems to be a never-ending supply of clowns on City Council, it’s sad to lose one of the honest guys.

Former Houston City councilmember and prominent criminal defense attorney Joe Roach died this morning after spending weeks in the hospital, his legal assistant said.
Janette Gomez-Trevino said Roach was survived by his wife, who is making funeral arrangements. Roach was also a district attorney who served on council from 1994-1999.

Sleep well. As Katfish told me when mama passed, your last breath on earth is your 1st in heaven. Prayers for the family. And hugs, too.

Michael Berry had a nice tribute to Councilman Roach this afternoon, talked about how he never used his lot in life as a crutch or an excuse to slam his detractors. How we could use a little bit more of that. RIP Mr. Roach.
