The temperatures are climbing. I see that 80 degree temps are here, so I must hurry to finish my gardening and digging before mosquitoes chase me from my yard and the dirt gets too hard dig.
What will you do with this weather before the blast furnace heat moves in?
Oh, and beware the extreme super moon!

I just took a peek – I think WB is up to something for today.
Wait for it…..wait for it…..
And he even left a window of opportunity for some late night lurker to jump in.
What a fine fellow. 🙂
Tex-Can was up EARLY…

Tex-Can’s 97-100, and you right there to complain that he beat you to it…
I’ve seen a bad moon arising

Yeah, well, what comes around, blah blah blah… 😉 I think I’m going to take Bonecrusher’s advice and go soak in some Epsom salts. I worked on extending a flower bed, which involved some digging and pulling of weeds, moving some sizable bricks, put some seedlings into my veggie garden, washed dishes from last night and today, barbecued ribs and… Read more »

Obviously you were trolling for redundancy. 😉
Tedtam, wagonburner,…Get a room! 😉
TT, you have been totally shameless today, and it’s Sunday! What gives?
Hey, Wagonburner! I found something you could use!
It’s HUGE!
#78: While working on a ranch in Alberta a nmber of years back, the owner and I were mending fences along the road. A classic Texan, cadilac, long horns on the hood, big hat type drove up and stopped. Thinking he needed directions we stopped work and walked over. As we got close he said to the owner, ” How… Read more »
Welp, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you can’t buy class; Tiger Woods has a new girlfriend… a 22-year-old student that was arrested on suspicion of DUI
#86 This is not at all unusual, and there is a completely rational explanation for it.
While I’m perfectly capable of going there, I’m not gonna touch the nearly obligatory wang joke. I’ll leave that to the resident expert, who cut her teeth on a Wang.
I wasn’t meaning to brag…
#86 WB
I think Wagonburner just had his Wang moment. 😉

I was driving out in the sticks on the way back from Geriatric Grizzly’s and it seemed almost like I didn’t even need my headlights. When it first started rising it was huge.
So I’m thinking we need to start a blog pool.
When will the UN start an “Oil for Food” program with Momo?
I’m picking January, 2012.
Anybody else in?

When Beethoven passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A couple days later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some strange noise coming from the area where Beethoven was buried. Terrified, the drunk ran and got the priest to come and listen to it. The priest bent close to the grave and heard some faint,… Read more »
The high point of my weekend occurred after the garage sale. A woman was interested in an exercise machine but because it wouldn’t fit in her car with her big a$$ and all her passengers, my friend sold her on it by saying she would deliver it. Now note that I was the only helper there who was driving a… Read more »

Yeah, I had started looking at it on Thursday night and had already noticed the unusual brightness. Even behind the clouds, it was like a searchlight, intense bright white dazzling.
The Joe Goebbels style MSM jour-O-lists pledge/prayer to Obumma: We pledge allegiance to our lord and king, Obumma In him we put our complete faith and trust We will serve and obey him dutifully We will defend his honor We will proclaim his glory to the ends of the earth We will bow down before him Love and praise him… Read more »
#74 Although it is currently limited to mostly harmless terrestrial information, Douglas Adams started the h2g2 site a couple of years before Wikipedia began, but the two are similar.
Here’s the entry on Texas.
Remember to bring a towel.
mharper42 Am I the only one who wanted to enjoy Super Moon last night but it was so @$^%*! cloudy that I only got a few glimpses? It was dazzling bright when it peeped through the clouds. Hope I’m still around in 18 years for the next chance to see one. Not to worry it’ll be almost as big tonight,… Read more »

I’m still trying to get over Super Dave’s headline in #51

Thanks but I want one just like in the BBC show — you know, the electronic one.
#70 Darren, lol. What was the most trollish comment you’ve made there? (Please don’t tell me you had a dream with Buddha. I didn’t think of that one, but there were very many. For one example, I recall calling him him a “neo-socialist commie liberal bed wetter” and worse. 😉 The odd thing is that my departed friend and I… Read more »
#71 bob Now that’s a dang fine story right thar, I don’t care who you are. 😉
A dog’s best friend…
I used the strikeout tags to set up the root canal punch line. I’m not confused, at all. Got it. Yet we get along pretty well, even though I’ve made some pretty assertive, and even trollish, comments there. He takes them in stride. What was the most trollish comment you’ve made there? But the problem is that it is not only Muammar al-Gaddafi who has identified the coastal cities of Libya’s eastern Cyrenaica region as al-Qaeda strongholds. The analysts of the Combating Terrorism Center at the United States Military Academy at West Point have as well. The findings of the latter are based on the so-called Sinjar Records: captured personnel records identifying… Read more »
#67 I’ve been reading Jack’s blog since 2003, and have seen him self-ID as both liberal and progressive. I used the strikeout tags to set up the root canal punch line. I’m not confused, at all. Our views on politics as well as religion (he’s Buddhist) are very different. Yet we get along pretty well, even though I’ve made some… Read more »
bob #59; From your link: Once upon a time- November, 2008, to be exact- we elected a President who sold himself as a champion of Progressive values. #65 Thanks for the tip, SD. I ordered one from an Amazon seller.
Bob Check out; Scott’s Books and Terrible Puns. I got my 5 part trilogy from him in 2002, he only lists books occasionally these days but he always has good ones.
I think I’ll get the leather bound version.
If you do, keep an eye on it, almost lost mine twice, so now I loan them Lacy’s copy, somehow it ALWAYS comes back home. 😉
#62 Daughter’s BF has the leather covered version. As I was recently re-reading the individual paperbacks of the five part trilogy, I gave them to the bartenders at a restaurant I frequent (where I’m known as “book Bob” because I’m always reading something.)
I think I’ll get the leather bound version.
Yo, mharper42, here ya’ go; ULTIMATE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY Douglas Adams
I bought THIS one a few years ago. It has a classy leather cover. My orginal hard-cover is tatered/torn and has a corner that was chewed off by Lacy the Black Lab. 😉
The Obamapologists are now talking about how Momo has chemical weapons and if we didn’t do something he would use them on his own people. LOL.
I wonder if Jack read this. http://prospect.org/cs/articles?article=blowing_a_hole_in_doddfrank From the comments; Rayboat [Moderator] 1 day ago in reply to Talis I truly believe that in order to get better we need to reach an absolute bottom. It will be dark and depressing. But like those in other third would countries, like ours, it usually takes more than a ballot. Perhaps another… Read more »
My friend Jack is a liberal, uh, better make that a progressive. Oh what the heck, he’d rather have a root canal than vote republican. It’s been barely two years since Barack Obama took office, and I feel as if we’ve been sold a bill of goods. Sure, there have been a few triumphs along the way, but it seems… Read more »
