I ran across the Chosen Surfers, Meshugga Beach Party, yesterday. They’re an interesting band. Think of a cross between Dick Dale and His Del-Tones and some rabbis (complete with prayer shawls and beards – even the babe on keyboard).
Jewish folk music is always uplifting, especially played like this.
Shalom y’all!!!

Monday OC thread is now open.
I guess everyone is busy getting ready for the parades downtown today.
#19 Pyro: I noticed that the “journalists” neglected to put a photo or political affiliation of the perp in the article; . . . . . . . . . I wonder why?
#15 Geezer: I just took the quiz and:
That I could score that much higher than elected officials is darned scary!
Hey y’all wake the h_!! up! 2nd Day Shalom.
Two cars traveling in opposite directions both came across a bridge at the exact same time. The bridge was wide enough to allow only one car to pass at any given time. The car heading north had a noticable “go Bears” sticker on it while the car traveling south had a noticable “Go Packers” on it. Since logically neither one… Read more »
The Pack has to get by da Bears first, but I have faith in them to do so.
#117 Yeah, I need to look at the data again. Maybe its the Inverse Law of Brandons.
#112 bob42 – that reminded me of my grandmother, although her story wasn’t quite as racy. She lived to be 95 and was lucid up until the last few weeks of her life. A few days before she died she announced she was going to have another baby.
So the Jets beat the Pats,…Interesting,…Go Green Bay.

You’ve forgotten the Law of Aaron Rodgers.
Sorry, Adee, cheeseheads win it all this year.
I can see Bob and his mom having some interesting times. I pray that the good times last until the end, whenever that may be.
bob #112; My mom comes in and out of being “herself.” For example a few days ago, I got here in the morning, and she insisted that overnight, she, her nurse and the nurse aid had filmed a lesbian porn flick. You’re definitely her son. You and her are still in my thoughts and prayers. This may go on for… Read more »

Oops. I messed up on the block quotes. 🙁
I got here in the morning, and she insisted that overnight, she, her nurse and the nurse aid had filmed a lesbian porn flick. The apple falls close to the tree… Seriously however, my great-grandmother would go through times similar to what you describe. On one visit, you could talk to her like you could 30 years prior. The next… Read more »
My mom comes in and out of being “herself.” For example a few days ago, I got here in the morning, and she insisted that overnight, she, her nurse and the nurse aid had filmed a lesbian porn flick. She would not be dissuaded from her conclusion. Later when she was herself again, I pointed out that she had on… Read more »
Civil Discourse Fail: Giuliani, the Right Rushed to Judgment Too…by Trying to Defend Itself In the first moments after this there was a rush to judgement on both sides. you know, left wingers trying to blame it on right wing, Tea Party, Sarah Palin. uhh, right wingers trying to fight back and defend themselves against what was really an outrageous… Read more »

Heh. looks like one hunter got outfoxed, eh? 🙂
A young man was lost wandering in a forest, when he came upon a small house. He knocked on the door and was greeted by a very old Chinese man with a long, grey beard. “I’m lost,” said the man. “Can you put me up for the night?” “Certainly,” the Chinese man said, “but on one condition. If you so… Read more »

My man says he’s eating the celery because it’s “healthy”. /withholding comment
And I was an applications programmer for about 15 years. No charisma? You wanna rephrase that? 😉
#100 Sarge (Hey, you didn’t shout “100 !!!”) he says he was a computer programmer Nope, he said he was a computer operator. Programming takes some snap, it does not require “extraordinary persuasive charisma”. In fact, I’ve never known a programmer wih an ounce of charisma. In reading what Sarge has turned up about Fuller, the man seems to have… Read more »

Maybe he likes celery?
The only way I can get my husband to eat fruit is if I put Cool-Whip on it. 🙂
#94 Sarge, good find. Once again, you have nailed it, by finding this man’s self-description posted online.
I like the dog at the beginning and the bird at the end. They seem to be doing their thing because they truly enjoy it.
Ah, it helps to read the whole article before posting (BTW – This article appeared in the Daily Picayune of New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, October 26, 1898.): The Bolivia reached the Northeastern wharf, and then the work of the inspectors began. Their duty was to find out if any of the Italians belonged to the excluded classes mentioned in… Read more »
Well, we’re celebrating Daugther’s belated birthday today, Daughter and Her Hubby, the Boy and his Bride, my “Part Time Daugher” that moved back from Stephenville and of course my Wife and I are going to PF Chang’s place in Sugarland. YES!! Life is GOOD! Thank you Lord. Later, Gang.
I have a contact from our trip to Sicily. Mr. Lowry has a website for families of Poggioreale, from which my grandfather hailed. I’ve been tripping down memory lane, looking at the pictures he’s posted of Poggioreale Vecchio, as well as the new town. Poking around at other articles he put on the site, I found an article that was… Read more »
non-physical disability NUTCASE Maybe? “non-physical” might indicate some kind of mental problem. His Lefty defenders on the web are claiming PTSD, but he says he was a computer programmer, so unless someone can tell me what kind of activity involved in computer programming equals combat stress, I’m going to call BS on that. There’s bvunches of folks who have been… Read more »
Breaking News: Fox “responsible” for yet another shooting.
And now, he breaks out the cheese. Oh, wait, it’s a LARGE container of dip. He finished off the small one.
Hubby cracks me up. He take blood pressure medicine, which he is very dutiful in taking. Checks his blood pressure every day, sometimes twice a day. (His mentor/”second daddy” figure died of stroke.) He does physical work every day, which is good, but he still has a belly on him. He came home to watch the football game – and… Read more »

Dang; This guy Fuller was a real nutbar. What are you looking for on this site? KIndred spirits and an opportunity to advocate my personal agenda promoting social justice and common sense. Areas of Specialty: I use extraordinary persuasive charisma to interest blase, apathetic, oblivious and at times hostile voters to listen to the voice of justice and consanguinity. My… Read more »

The problem is, it’s hard to trust that ratfink son Ron Reagan not to be maliciously trying to discredit his father.
One of the members of the Texas Congressional delegation, Louis Gohmert, a former state Judge is saying that Sheriff Dipstik in Tucson needs to shut his mouth because he’s damaging the prosecution’s case every time he talks to the media. There’s a reason nobody comments on ongoing investigations, but it looks like Dipstik is either too senile or too much… Read more »

Forgot the link.
#82 sarge Dangit. I was gonna use that in a post. Specifically, I was going to compare and contrast Mr. Fuller’s actions since the shooting with those of Christina Green’s father. John Green showed us all what courage and poise in the face of every parent’s worst nightmare looks like. “We know she wouldn’t want things changed. She would not… Read more »
Why y’all dissin’ on the Muhammads??
Dang those Brandons have been fruitful and multiplied.
Adee – using the Law of Brandons, the Seahawks have two Brandons and the Bears have one, so the Seahawks should win. The good news is the Packers have three Brandons so they should win against either opponent. The bad news is the Patriots have five Brandons so they’ll win the Superbowl 😉

Why was the man taken to a mental health facility?
Fuller was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening and intimidation and taken to a local mental health facility, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
If Hamous says it, that in itself should be better than a medical diagnosis and proof enough of the poor man’s condition. You do realize he was medically diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, right? I don’t think that’s in doubt. The question is, when did his symptoms first appear? He announced his diagnosis publicly in 1994. Given the slow progression of the… Read more »

#78 SD I saw that story a few weeks ago, fascinating stuff. I’m suprised it did not get much attention, maybe we will see a book and a movie in the future. I have totally wimped out this weekend, both indoors and out. No motivation at all. Well, I did work on my Q4 estimated tax which must be mailed by Tuesday. I need to do some shopping but it is simply too dreary to go out.
Now this is interesting; Israel Tests on Worm Called Crucial in Iran Nuclear Delay. The worm itself now appears to have included two major components. One was designed to send Iran’s nuclear centrifuges spinning wildly out of control. Another seems right out of the movies: The computer program also secretly recorded what normal operations at the nuclear plant looked like,… Read more »
