The Brandon Conspiracy

While we’ve been lulled into complacency with silly economic woes, oil spills, and TSA gropers, a silent invasion has been going on right under our noses. Brandons have been taking over! In the NFL alone there are 37 Brandons:

Ravens-McKinney, Brandon DE
Bengals-Ghee, Brandon DB
Bengals-Johnson, Brandon OLB
Colts-James, Brandon WR
Colts-King, Brandon DB
Dolphins-Fields, Brandon P
Dolphins-Marshall, Brandon WR
Patriots-Deaderick, Brandon DE
Patriots-McGowan, Brandon FS
Patriots-Meriweather, Brandon SS
Patriots-Spikes, Brandon ILB
Patriots-Tate, Brandon WR
Jets-Moore, Brandon G
Broncos-Lloyd, Brandon WR
Chiefs-Albert, Branden T
Chiefs-Carr, Brandon CB
Chiefs-Flowers, Brandon CB
Raiders-Myers, Brandon TE
Chargers-Dombrowski, Brandyn T
Chargers-Siler, Brandon ILB
Bears-Manumaleuna, Brandon TE
Lions-McDonald, Brandon DB
Lions-Pettigrew, Brandon TE
Packers-Chillar, Brandon ILB
Packers-Jackson, Brandon RB
Packers-Underwood, Brandon CB
Panthers-LaFell, Brandon WR
Bucs-Gilbeaux, Brandon DE
Cowboys-Williams, Brandon LB
Giants-Jacobs, Brandon RB
Eagles-Graham, Brandon DE
Eagles-Hughes, Brandon CB
Redskins-Banks, Brandon WR
Cardinals-Keith, Brandon T
Seahawks-Mebane, Brandon DT
Seahawks-Stokley, Brandon WR
Rams-Gibson, Brandon WR

Clearly Alex “Brandon” Jones is in on the treason since he has never mentioned this breach of Brandons. It appears that Foxborough, Massachusetts is the heart of this treachery. We must join forces and fight this Brandon Bloc of sedition before it’s too late.

Good morning all. Frosty 28 at 6:30, with rooftops, fences, and pastures adorned in white. A lonely critter briefly barks in the distance, coyote or dog is unknown. Otherwise all is still. The retiring half Moon graces the western sky and lights my walk down the drive to fetch the paper as she softly discloses features of the landscape. The pastures are seas of white, bright against the darker trees but not yet sparkling as Dawn’s fingers embrace the horizon. The Sun’s fiery disk soon appears and for a few minutes balances on the horizon, framed by the trees surrounding an open space below, then rises into the treeline to shine through the branches.

The mares leave the barn and happily play tag on their way to the side pasture. Mara and Contessa blend with the frost and seem to float upon it as they run; bay Cameo stands out in stark contrast. A flock of crows announces its presence in the trees nearby, and dogs from the boarding kennel down the road declare it is feeding time. Golden beams break through the trees here and there, and the fleeting magnificent show begins. Diamonds take over the whitescape, sparkling pools expanding as the Sun moves higher. This beauty will soon be gone in the mists drawn to him. Already frost is melting and dripping from trees and rooftops in full light, for he has surpassed the treeline and his gold is now a blinding white presence. The mares bask in it as they graze.

Another beautiful day to enjoy, and all for free. Thank you, Lord.

Nice report, as expected, Adee. I was surprised we even had frost on the roofs well inside the city limits in Houston. Still do on shaded or north facing roofs, although it is now back up to 42 degrees air temp.

As soon as Obama gets around to taking over the NFL he’ll solve the Brandon problem, right along with the payroll problem, the tax problem, the immigration problem, the racial problem, the stadia problem, the debt problem, the attendance problem, the viewership problem, the monopoly problem, etc. – did I mention the management problem as well? Quite frankly I think it’s time we had racial balance in the NBA while we are at it, so might as well go ahead and take that organization over as well – plus Obama could play and be named MVP every year. The potential out there for government just seems unlimited.

SIERRA BLANCA, Texas (AP) โ€” A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.

Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.

I found a similar story about 2 male vultures in a zoo in Israel. And of course there’s the much maligned book “And Tango Makes Three” about the 2 male penguins who incubated a donor egg and raised the chick — in a zoo.

Seems to me the real story here is how zoos are unnatural habitats and in particular there may not be suitable mates provided for all of the animals. Birds have powerful instincts to partner up, build nests, incubate eggs, feed hatchlings. In most of these zoo stories, the acclaimed “gay” birds take hetero mates when females become available in the artificial population.

In the German zoo, the vultures were both said to be 14 years old (that is 98 in dog years ๐Ÿ™‚ ) but the odd pairing only started in March. I saw no mention at all whether either male had previously had a female mate who died or was taken away.

Thank you, mharper42. As I recall we had snow on December 5 last year, and quite a bit of it.
Hoping for snowfall this winter also.

Friends in St. Paul delcared winter arrived there on November 13 with a sort of surprise winter storm warning. They sent a picture of their home and front yard covered with about a foot, and of course the snow plow had been by and filled in the driveway entrance again. They have not had a weather break since, just more snow and cold blasts. Yes, it is winter in the northland. They send jokes about the hapless play of the Vikings that could easily describe the Cowboys with but a change in name.

I am wondering, whaddaya mean, checkpoint?? Now I never heard of Sierra Blanca but I find it is dayaam close to the Mexican border where I-10 curves up toward El Paso. How stupid can you be, smoking dope in your vehicle on a highway with border-related checkpoints?

We turned on our floor last night. I woke up this morning to find Barf Kitty huddled under Lovely’s bed. She’s been trying to get into Handsome Son’s bedroom, too. Handsome’s room gets REALLY warm – we’ve turned down the flow of hot water to his zone, hoping to reduce the heat level, but Kitty remembers how deliciously warm it is under his bed. The second warmest spot that she can reach is under Lovely’s bed. The next spot is next to our double oven, with luck she’ll be OUT of our traffic pattern while crouching over the warm spot on the floor.

We’ve turned off the boiler and the pumps. The floor will continue to throw off heat all day, and we might turn it on for a few hours this evening before we go to bed.

Hubby is working on our master bath, finally. We must get our next inspection on time to keep our permits active. This means a lot of funky sheet rock work. There are very few right angles in this house! I am very much looking forward to someday having a jacuzzi tub in which to soak my back! Between my back and a sore foot, walking has been a challenge over the last few days.

I went to Lowe’s yesterday to get a new water filter for the fridge. I thought something was wrong when I opened the package, but I was in a hurry and didn’t snap ’til later that it had been repackaged, probably a return. That filter flooded my refrigerator! Handsome lost half of his Thanksgiving desserts that I had brought back for him when several containers fell out when I opened the door to investigate the water flowing from the bottom of the refrigerator door. Fortunately, the floor drain was close by, and I just had to squeegee the water to the drain. I love that I insisted on floor drains in my house! I went to Lowe’s, returned the defective filter and made sure my replacement was factory packaged.

I must now go to get a leaky tired fixed on Hubby’s car. Maybe there’s a Brandon that can fix it? ๐Ÿ™‚

Didn’t recognise the speaker but found this about him:

Who is Nigel Farage? He is a former Conservative British politician who left the party in 1992 when John Majorโ€™s government signed on to the Maastricht Treaty, thereby selling out a large measure of British sovereignty. Mr. Farage is now leader of UKIP, the United Kingdom Independence Party, as well as a member of the European Parliament for South East England.

The pan shots didn’t indicate the Euro Parl’s liked what they heard — baffled, some maybe miffed. None seemed to understand what he was saying. Reminded me of reaction shots when Stephen Colbert made his stunt congressional testimony to a US House subcommittee. “Say what?”

Regarding the Speaker’s race inquiries made yesterday.

I can’t link to Red State cuz I’m at work, but Erik Erikson noticed the same thing I did the other day in the Ethics Committee “Investigation” into whether current Speaker Joe Straus threatened to use his office to influence redistricting in the state to redraw district lines to remove from office any Lege members who didn’t support him.

Bryan Hughes said that he got a call from Larry Phillips outlining the whole plan and saying that Straus approved of it.

Hughes got disgusted with this kind of back stabbing buddy screwing and went public with it. That brought about the “investigation.”

In the committee meeting, Hughes testified under oath. Phillips said he never did such a thing, but he refused to say so under oath. THAT right there ought to tell you what the truth is. Our choice now becomes whether we believe the guy who swore to God under penalty of perjury, or the guy who decided that he wasn’t going to go that route.

It might be a good time to point out that if Phillips did testify under oath that he never made that call, and Straus wasn’t behind it, and then another member of the Lege comes forward and backs up Hughes’ story, Phillips will be going to jail because he testified under oath. But because he didn’t, if someone does come forward in the future, he’ll only lose his job.

Its also a good time to remind folks that Phillips was appointed to the Number 2 position on the Ethics Committee by Straus, and he recieved a couple of grand in campaign donations from Straus as well. Its also instructive to note that Chuck Hopson was appointed as Ethics Committee Chairman by Straus after he changed parties (he was a Democrat until 2009), and Straus has donated $42,000 to HIM.

Here’s something you won’t read at the local Establishment Pundit Site which gives a pretty good synopsis.

Here’s the crux of the biskit guys:

It takes 76 votes to become Speaker of the Texas House. Straus has all 50 DEMOCRATS pledged to him. He knows that because the Democrats meet in a caucus and decide who they are going to vote for, then they block vote for that guy. Straus has the 50 Democrats, plus the 11 former Democrats that voted for him last time in his back pocket. He only needs another 15 Republicans to vote for him. If he agrees to meet in Caucus, instead of 26 Republicans, he needs 51. This essentially means that if the Republicans don’t meet in caucus and do the same thing, the Democrats will control who gets to be Speaker, who sits on what Committee, who the Chairmen are, and what will be on the Calendar.

His supporters have threatened to withhold $170,000 in campaign donations from the Party if the caucus is held.

We just had an election that was all about this kind of crap. But because the Tea Party is behind the call for a “more Conservative Speaker”, Establishment Republicans don’t want to go that route. To do so would be to acknowledge that the Tea Party has worked hard enough to gain some influence in the Party, and that would mean that the power of the Establishment would be diminished.

This is all about whether or not we want the Texas Republican Party to go down the road its been going down for the past 15 years or so, if it got to get slapped upside the head enough in 2006 & 2008 to pay the frik attention to what happened in 2010, or if the Tea Party gets dissed enough to form a third party and put it out of its misery.

One other important thing to note about the above is this:

The only way that the threat to draw new district lines to punish Republicans who don’t support Straus works would be to draw them in such a manner that a Democrat gets elected in that district.

Given the way they vote, more Democrats in the Lege turns out to be a good thing for good ‘ol Joe Straus.

Daughters recently taught the ex-wife how to use facebook.

It’s not that I’m holding any grudges (I can now chuckle about the time she tried to give the police permission to search my house because she wanted to get me arrested.) But I still don’t think I’ll send her a friend invite.

Sorry, I got a little lost in the explanation (and math) about caucus. Would this be caucus for Republicans only?

Yes. Nuttin but Pubbies, including the new ones just elected who, as a group, tend to be more Conservative thanthose who have been running the Party into the ground for the past decade and a half.

Would Strauss oppose that because he would not win Speakerโ€™s chair with only Rโ€™s supporting him?

Not only would he, he does. It could happen in a heartbeat if he only would agree to it. But for good ol’ Joe, getting 50 Democrats, 11 former Democrats, and 15 “moderate” Republicans is a whole lot easier than getting 51 Republicans.

And that due to Teapers NOT supporting him?

Essentially, that’s true. Until 2008, it was actually illegal for Citizens to exert any pressure on thier Lege reps regarding selection of Speaker. Having to put up with us ignent peasants is taking some getting used to in the Texas Republican Party. They used to be able to get away with “Who else you gonna vote for, a Democrat?”

But most Tea Partiers don’t support him because he’s NOT a Conservative and he’s made a lot of sweetheart deals with Democrats to stay in power. Over at the Establishment Pundit’s site, some political genius is saying that people are against Straus “just because”, and that Tea Partiers are only in it because they enjoy the limelight. They’re pretty much running out of names to call people. There’s a comment on Paul Burka’s blog (along with the one at the Establishment Pundit site) that illustrates the level of nastiness and vituperation being level at Tea Partiers by Establishment Pubbies:

I can tell you for a fact that many of these blogging and making threats have been around a while and when it comes to electorial politics โ€“ they donโ€™t know their ass from a whole in the ground. The ones I have run into are a collection of perenniual political losers.

Many of these โ€œtea partyโ€ groups that have meetings are filled with recycled political oddwads and freaks who are not new to politics. The Tea Party banner is simply cammoflouging who they really are.

Last fall in three campaigns I was involved with, these Tea Party types were asked to go door-to-door, put out signs, make call, work the polls โ€“ but they were too busy having meetings and supposedly doing their own โ€œgrassroots efforts.โ€

Based on my experience is was all cheap talk. Meetings to plan other meetings and have speakers to come in and take up their time with more meetings. Blah, Blah, Blah.

The volunteers we had were people new to the process or people who had dropped out of politics several years ago but were back becuase of Obama -they werenโ€™t sitting around fretting about Joe Straus. These were rank and file conservatives and Republicans and they worked their asses off โ€“ they werenโ€™t going to Tea party meetings.

These blogger threats are worthless and meaningless. I would savor running campaigns against any of these so called Tea Party activists. Based on some of the clods and nuckleheads I have run into, picking them off would be easier than exotic game hunting โ€“ no sport at all.

    Losers, deadbeats and dumbasses.

I remember what happened to the last bunch of folks who judged that the Tea Party wasn’t worthy of any respect and ignored thier power and ability to affect political change in this country.

But, over the past 15 years, we’ve seen how freakin smart Establishment Republicans have been in Texas, and how little regard they have for us ignent peasnats, havent we?

There’s plenty of petty name calling from both wingtips of the political bird. Often, the reaction to them is quite funny, and I like to laugh. However, I refuse to be defined by, or associate myself with either of the extreme ends of the two party political industry.

    And I vote.

Currently, there are 10 reps in the new Lege that have come out publicly against Straus. That’s twice as many as there were this time last week. Five of them are newly elected.

According to some folks, they’re doing it “just because”, but you can read their reasons why here

Along with the press releases of the organizations that have taken a stand against Straus, including Gun Owners of America, Mike Huckabee, Dick Armey, and Young Conservatives of Texas.

But this is a close second:

Some Tea Party leaders like the free trips and lunches that Empower Texans, Americans for Prosperity, Vision America, American Majority and others provide them. Not to mention the limelight – they like that a lot.

The thing with these guys is that they never admit that there is a legitimate political discussion to be had here regarding the appointments that Straus made to Committee Chairs while speaker, and the dirty underhanded buddy screwing method he used to take over the position from Craddick.

The whole thing started when his supporters claimed that this was just a conspiracy perpetrated in order to elect some creepy Social Con to the Speaker’s position, with some good old fashioned allegations of Anti-Semitism thrown in. Then Ken Paxton tossed his hat into the ring and all that kind of fell apart. Now we have a Conservative Alternative who isn’t a creepy Social Con, so they’re attacking the Tea Party—because that’s where a good deal of the push to change things (not just the Speaker) in the Lege and the Republican Party of Texas comes from.

I’ve been upstairs putting together some shelves for my craft space, which is extremely disorganized as we’ve been adding to the pile over time, as we moved stuff we found from the old house to the new one. Obviously I had grand plans for many projects, as I’ve found YARDS of fabric in a large trash bag that had been thrown into a corner. Now that I know the fabric is there…

Wisconsin is leading Northwestern 49 to 17 at the half in Madison. Temp is 31 degrees at Camp Randall Stadium, the fans are bundled up, the players on the field aren’t, and the only really comfortable person is the guy wearing the Bucky Badger suit. Northwestern is not the pushover Indiana was when the Badgers scored 83 points, however they do need to get their game on or they will rival Indiana. It is an amazing game, going kinda like the Packers v Cowboys.

Oh dear, I wish I could post you a picture taken from the doorway looking into my craft room. It is no longer possible to walk inside, I have to move some boxes out into the hallway to get very far into that room. Problem is I can’t find time to do any crafts now, and my close vision with bifocals is no longer good enough for beading, embroidery, painting, or even glue gun on a grapevine wreath — BUT — I am not yet ready to give up and give away the components I have stockpiled. Keep thinking if I ever finally really retire, I’ll at least have time to organize.

All the chain craft stores that were within say 10 miles of my house have closed in the last several years, which has at least clamped off the input hose into that room.

The Rhodes is back in one piece, and increasingly playable! I had to take it down to the case to fix the issues with the sustain pedal and overall touch, which were caused by the rough ride here from NJ.

Part of my day job is ensuring that products are designed to be efficiently repaired. I’m very impressed at the serviceability of the machine. Routine adjustments and part replacements can be made without substantial disassembly.

It still has a ways to go, but now I’m down to dealing with individual note issues. So far I’ve warmed up a few cold solder joints, and tuned the more offensive notes. With the aid of the wealth of information on the internet about this instrument I figure I’ll be an expert by the time I’m done. (If I can stop playing it long enough to finish fixing it.)

Well, I have now unpacked all of my fabric and stored in my new shelving. I think I’ve found it all – there’s still another pile of stuff for me to go through, but I think it’s more crafting type stuff. I finally came across a suitable box for today’s project – a holder for wrapping paper. I had previously stored it in one of those very large “under bed” storage containers, but it just wasn’t that great. Some rolls were too long to fit properly, the smaller rolls were hard to reach under the big rolls, and I keep scraps of paper for small items so I don’t have to cut weird pieces off the rolls, and those small pieces were getting all mashed up. I gave up on ribbons years ago.

I borrowed my husband’s box cutter, since he was in the next room cutting sheet rock and my cutter was down under the stairs in my tool box. I grabbed some greenish-blue duck tape from my duck tape collection and proceeded to cut, tape, and mold a Sam’s Club paper towel box into a somewhat ugly but functional wrapping paper center. I can get to any roll I want now, and all my scraps and bags are in a compartment in the front. The only waste was one of the two side flaps on the top and the small squares I cut out, through which the wrapping paper stands.

Now, I think I have time to wash dishes and put on some electrical cover plates before we settle down to eat pizza, after which I shall have to do paperwork.

Wisconsin beat Northwestern 70 to 23 and now waits for the wizards who study entrails or the moon or far-away oracles or all three to decide if Michigan State, Ohio State, or Wisconsin goes to the Rose Bowl. Some ruminations about this obtuse BCS ranking system apparently is involved apart from deciding about the Rose Bowl, which seemingly this year might not necessarily be between the Big Ten (11) champion and the Pacific 10 champion as customary. These wizards must be moonlighting government types from some obscure basement offices in which legislation is drafted that nobody understands–including them– before or after Congress passes it. Kinda like the committee working independently that created the IRS code.

Super Dave, the Badger reserve players got to play in the second half, Northwestern kept giving the ball away practically gift wrapped, and as time dwindled down in the 4th quarter they fumbled in their own territory and the Badgers recovered. But they ran out the clock by taking a knee on each play when they could have scored again. I salute them for that.

This was the third game this season the Badgers scored 70 or more points. Had they scored again in the last minutes I would have been most disappointed in them. That would have been insulting to Northwestern and degrading to Wisconsin. At least a few teams still have standards of conduct and coaches who teach them.

Oh dear, I wish I could post you a picture taken from the doorway looking into my craft room. It is no longer possible to walk inside, I have to move some boxes out into the hallway to get very far into that room.

I was re-reading some of the quotes today, and your comment reminded me of something. Years ago, in a different lifetime, I worked as an applications programmer for various Evil Corporations in downtown Houston. Quite often this included customer service, and some of the customers needing help were quite high on the corporate food chain. At one Evil Corporation, I went to help someone in the personnel main offices, only a few chairs away from the VP of Personnel. As I left that office, I asked why there were stacks of papers and files in the public walkway. Expecting an answer like “they are going to be shredded,” I was shocked to hear “They belong to N, the VP. You should see her office!” I was able to get a glance one day. Sure enough, her floor was covered with piles of files, and layers of papers! Her shelves, her desk, her floor – all covered! The carpet of paper did not stop at her door, but went for several feet into the hall way. There was a walkway to her desk and space around the chairs in front of her desk. I was totally flabbergasted.

I did hear that she was finally told to clean up her act. These were papers in PERSONNEL, for goodness’ sake! How much personal information might have been in those stacks? I can’t believe she wasn’t fired.

Good morning all. Chilly 43 at 6, but the newly updated home weather station said it was 34.5 at 3am. Then the clouds rolled in so by 6:30 we had the layer-cake effect with pinkish gold cloud bottoms and grayish blue tops. All was interspersed with breaks here and there showing pale blue sky. If there was any frosty glory on the ground at 3, very few unfeathered bipeds saw it. Another front lurks nearby ready to pounce late tomorrow. Meantime there’s a nice day ahead for all sorts of chores or enjoyment.

Pumpkins providing fall decorations got moved to the back yard and away from the patio so as not to interfere with Christmas decor. Have only lost two to rot so far, and those still intact deserve to hang around until they get mushy. Then it’s off to the compost chute.

Handsome Son said he’s had a good day today. We woke up and went to Mass. Then we joined the in-laws for breakfast at Kelley’s, where portions are epic. He ate his breakfast, which included a plate full of hash browns, 2 eggs, bacon, and maybe one of their biscuits that could feed three or four people. Then he got in-laws leftovers. I had ordered the breakfast tacos, planning on only eating one of them. Sure enough, one was more than enough, so Handsome got the second one. Then we came home and he slept, then woke up and ate again. Then he slept some more, then woke up to watch football. I managed to get him to crack pecans while watching football. Then I fixed dinner and he ate again. I went to the store earlier to get the fixin’s for chocolate malts, for which he’s been craving and which he has promised to make. He’s now in his room watching more football; I anticipate chocolate malts in about 30 minutes.

Is that a man day or what?!

    Tedtam,

The Army PFC that leaked the documents to Wikileaks should be punished, but more troubling is WHO THE HECK WOULD TRUST A PFC WITH TOP SECRET DOCUMENTS?

This speaks volumes about the state of our military at the senior leadership level. What the #$#%$ did the military need with Department of State Communication Cables? There is some value in the compartmentalization of information.

But I thought we were supposed to be all about openness and transparency. Perhaps shining a little sunlight on some of this stuff will raise the level of candor to which we, the great unwashed, are presently unable to handle due to our overall stupidity and lack of understanding.

When someone from State is standing up there praising some tinhorn dictator somewhere, wouldn’t it be nice to know if they really believed it or not? I also note that the level of howls of outrage over the release of diplomatic documents is several decibels higher than it was at the time of the release of military secrets. I guess diplomatic disclosures could lead to some personal embarrassments, while the loss of military and intelligence secrets merely results in deaths.

Honesty is nice, but in War…Deception is Everything!

I suspect that there will be more embarassing moments for the military too. Especially with regards to Iraq, Iran, and Afganistan.

The little twerp PFC should be given a quick General Court followed by a long stay in Levenworth. His immediate bosses should be shown the door.

Actually, diplomacy relies on the ability to say things you don’t want to say, the ability to say what needs to be said – even if you don’t believe in it, and the ability to keep certain things private. This POS PFC and his compatriots at wimpyleaks either don’t fully understand what damage they are doing, or don’t care. I don’t know which is worse.

Water seeks its own level, and information seeks release. Knowledge is power. How can we ever make good decisions if we do not have the facts? Our politicians know this, and that is why they want to kill off the internet. Absolute control of information by our government is essential to keeping us uninformed and allowing them to lord over us.

I do not approve of someone entrusted to handle classified information turning it over to the public, but once it becomes public, which it always will, we need to be prepared to absorb it. Fat, dumb, and happy is not the American way.

We need to know if our government is screwing us. That I don’t have a problem with.

Other countries don’t need to know what our government says about them behind closed doors. There are things in these documents that will not be “ignorable” by other diplomats. These documents could set back diplomatic relations between multiple countries severely.

And then there’s the whole idea of people/resources being killed or quieted because their identities can be determined. Or maybe someone with important information now doesn’t want to step forward with information because he cannot be assured that his/her name won’t show up in some wikileaked document somewhere?

I’ve always believed that we could go a lot further diplomatically is we told others exactly what we thought, what we intended to do to further our own national interests, and then be willing to back it up once said. Now does anyone really believe that sending a woman to deal with the Arab states is anything short of a direct insult to their leaders – whether they are saying it or not? Or the Norks knowing that any time they want something from us all they have to do is rattle a few sabers and we’ll kowtow to them. Or our President bowing to his Muslim handlers in Saudi and other middle east states. They all know we’ll say whatever to stay in office and try to keep things relatively calm. Just like some problem children that I know, all most of them need is a good butt whipping to straighten them out.

Not to sound too arrogant, but they all need us more than we need them.
