Weekend OC

The Democrat Party seems to be all in a tizzy over undisclosed donations to conservative non-profit groups:

“Groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to influence American elections — and they won’t tell you where the money for those ads comes from,” Obama said at a rally in Maryland. “So this isn’t just a threat to Democrats. This is a threat to our democracy.”

And nationalizing private industries is good for our democracy? Anyway, Democrats don’t seem to have a problem with undisclosed donations from their groups. Take the Democracy Alliance Click Expand on the Map Tools bar to the left of the diagram to see the whole thing. You can also click on one box, George Soros for instance, and expand his relationships.

    Well I woke up early.

Read the Hometwon Newspaper, and guess what was at the top of the page:

    State takes infant, spurs protest

Wherein we find some new information:

DCYF asked for the case to be moved from family court in Concord to the family court in Dover, citing that court’s familiarity with the family involved.

Their battle with DCYF dates back to January of last year, Taylor said, when the state welfare agency took her other two children, boys who are now 2 and 3, for alleged abuse and neglect.

The boys currently live with a foster family, and Irish said he was told baby Cheyenne will go to live with the same family for now.

DCYF is legally prohibited from discussing child welfare cases. A spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services said it can’t even confirm a child was taken into custody at Concord Hospital.

    snip

Taylor said she is seeking a divorce from her sons’ father, who lives in Seabrook. But because she is still married to him, DCYF considers her husband to be the “legal father” of baby Cheyenne, according to the affidavit.

OK. In addition to the other stuff we found out about John Irish we find out that her other two kids from the man she’s still married to have been living in foster care since Obama took his oath of office.

Bored to freaking tears because it was 5:00 AM, I did some more checking, and this came up.

But according to an affidavit provided to Irish by the state Division for Children, Youth and Families, state officials took the child because of Irish’s long record of violence and abuse. According to the affidavit, a judge determined that Irish abused Janvrin’s two other children. She is still married to the father of those children, though Janvrin said yesterday that her husband has refused to accept her divorce petition for the past two years.

The affidavit also says that the police in Rochester report a “lengthy history of domestic violence” between Janvrin and Irish, and that she accused him of choking and hitting her on more than one occasion. According to the document, Irish failed to complete a domestic violence course as ordered by the state, and that a hearing was held last month to terminate Janvrin’s parental rights over her two older children.

Janvrin “has failed to recognize the impact of domestic violence in her life and the potential danger it poses to a newborn baby,” the affidavit reads. “Mr. Irish has not acknowledged any responsibility to date and remains a significant safety risk to an infant in his care. . . . Without the intervention of the court, the infant will be at risk of harm.”

Now, much has been made on forums, etc, about Paragraph #7 of the document ST linked to seemed to be different than the rest of the document. Turns out that last night Alex Jones (who I will NOT link to) admits that it is part of another document. Furthermore, the docyument ST linked to is a request for a Change of Venue and the “other document” (which, to my knowledge, we DO NOT yet have a complete copy of) is an Affadavit, presumably the one referenced in the Concord Monitor story above.

Oathkeepers has not released an Update or further statement since last night. They do say that Irish faxed them some documents.

But this looks more and more like a scam somebody is running. Either Irish is running it himself (possibly to make money from a Legal Defense Fund), or Alex Jones is possibly jerking things around in order to increase the hit count on his website and You Tube channel so he can get more ad revenue.

    Look:

The gummint is as screwed up as a soup sammich, but its not running some massive conspiracy to enslave us. People make money from internet ads, donations to thier websites or organizations, or they are just plain nutzo. Ramos and Compeon really did shoot that guy and they really did try to cover it up. Erik Scott really was on drugs and he really did reach for his gun. John Irish and Stepanie Taylor really are bad parents and they really deserve to have thier children taken away.

Giving credence to any of the “massive conspiracy” theories surrounding these cases without doing a lot of investigation only makes us look bad.

Got back from son’s ablation procedure late last night, long day, left at 5 yesterday morning. Son is ok and safe.

No way to say it english, so here goes. Doc said he no longer has WPW syndrone, but for reasons not clear had developed AVRNT, same symtoms-fast heart rate-different type of pathway causing it. He was able to burn away most of the abnormal tissue but was unable to go further without risk of damaging the AV node, our natural pacemaker. Doc was unable to simulate the palpitations with ease as he could before, so is reasonably confident son will no longer have the problem.

There are physical maneuvers that will stop the palpitations, which son has successfully done before. If the condition still exists, he will have to get good at it. Bottomline, this is not life threatening, it does not disrupt a normal lifestyle and people live with much, much worse. We are aware of that, and are grateful.

    Sarge,

I used to listen to Alex Jones on his shortwave outlet at nights, but just only for entertainment. How anyone can believe what that clown has to say is beyond me.

I agree with you comments concerning conspiracy. It is difficult to comprehend how the folks who run the V.A., Post Office, and Homeland Security could be running a conspiracy and be as messed up as they are.

    “RETARDED” GRANDPARENTS

Written by a third grader, on what his grandparents do.
After Christmas, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holiday away from school. One child wrote the following:

We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live in a big brick house, but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Arizona . Now they live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass. They ride around on their bicycles, and wear name tags, because they don’t know who they are anymore. They go to a building called a wreck center, but they must have got it fixed because it is all okay now, they do exercises there, but they don’t do them very well. There is a swimming pool too, but they all jump up and down in it with hats on. At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out, and go cruising in their golf carts. Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And, they eat the same thing every night – early birds. Some of the people can’t get out past the man in the doll house. The ones who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked center for pot luck. My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and, says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too. When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out, so they can visit their grandchildren.

Trying to get a handle on what the home mortgage foreclosure fiasco is going to do to Sweetie’s real estate biz. In one way, it could get prospective buyers holding out for sweet foreclosure deals off the fence and also, inventory will be reduced significantly. On the other hand, this is going to be one big mess amidst an already huge mess in home financing.

NEW YORK (CBS 2/ 1010WINS/ AP) – Police have arrested seven individuals ranging in age from 16 to 23 for their roles in alleged anti-gay attacks Sunday.

CBS 2 took exclusive pictures of six of the seven suspects, who were trying to hide their faces with hoods on their heads, chained to each other. They are accused of anti-gay bias attacks that have shocked a University Heights neighborhood.

“I don’t understand how people can do that to another human being whether he’s gay, whatever he is,” resident Geovany Rodriguez told CBS 2’s John Metaxas.

The alleged bloody beatings happened on Osborne Place early Sunday. Police said members of a gang known as the “Latin King Goonies” lured a 17-year-old into an unoccupied ground floor apartment.

Don’t understand? Duh, it’s a gang. However horrifying these assaults were, theywere still committed by a gang.

“These attacks are appalling and are even more despicable because the victims were clearly targeted in acts of hate simply because they are gay,” Quinn said. “The cowardly few who committed these crimes do not represent New Yorkers and our community will not be cowed by such violence.”

Again, however gruesome the assaults were, when do gangs NOT target assaults based on hate?

Has anyone ever heard of a love crime? Does anyone ever get beat up because the attacker is in love with them? All violent crime is hate crime. Was this less of a crime because the murderer and the three victims were all black? Was the murders of these 48 people less of a crime because they weren’t gay? Why is it necessary to create a class of übervictims? It doesn’t decrease criminal behavior. There are bad people among us and they hate other people. Sometimes they kill other people. It’s been that way since the dawn of human civilization and no society has ever managed to change that fact. Hippies sticking flowers in the barrel of guns didn’t change it. Psychiatrists digging around in the diseased minds of criminals trying to “rehabilitate” them doesn’t change it. Special victim statuses haven’t changed it. Cliche-filled bumper stickers won’t change it. Punish the guilty severely, to the fullest extent of the law, and move on.

GJT- great news on the son. I hope this is the last of all that mess. I remember what it was like for Handsome when he was little. We were at the doctors’ offices about every 2-3 weeks for a while, and then when he was being diagnosed with his learning disability, there were times he was being evaluated in one way or another just about every week. He was so tired of it by the end of that summer, I finally saw him get frustrated. It’s hard to get him to show frustration, but the white coats managed it. Good luck to you all!

Their violence is not based on hate when it is motivated by the very attractive tax free black market profits from the drug war that you support. To a very large degree, your drug war funds the gangs. Perhaps you (and the drug warriors, especially the wimpy politicians) should accept responsibility for your role in helping make it possible for these these scumbag gangs of violent jerks to thrive and terrorize people.

Rather than “hate” I think their inexcusable behavior was a violent expression of xenophobia.

#18 Hamous, I’m not at all in favor of hate crime legislation of any kind. Our criminal justice system has a hard enough time accurately finding basic facts. To saddle it with determining the state of mind or motivation of a perpetrator is just plain silly. (Although you do seem to have an intermittent talent for divining the motivation and thoughts of others.)

Although you do seem to have an intermittent talent for divining the motivation and thoughts of others.

I don’t have to divine anything, I just read what you write.

Are you referring to “Tolerance” or “Coexist” bumper stickers?

Actually I was referring to ones like these.

Your bumper stickers are more caricatures of a bygone era where smelly, crunchy hippies wore earth shoes, thought that mother earth would take care of all their needs, everyone would love each other, and the lion would lie down with the lamb (we right-wing, Christian, xenohomoislamohispanophobes call that “Heaven”, btw). There’s not much harm in them but they don’t really accomplish anything other than to alert the rest of us to the driver’s demeanor. A more effective bumper sticker may be “Aging Hippie On Board” 😉

Aggie Beau had an interesting take on the elections. According to him, it’s mathematically impossible to pay back the debt that’s been racked up over the last two years. Therefore, he is tempted to vote a Democrat ticket, except for Chet Edwards, whom he cannot stand. His theory is that since we can never make that money back, go for broke. Vote in Democrats that will allow us to get whatever money we can out of the system before it crashes.

Of course, he doesn’t realize that “that money” will be coming out of mine and his and Lovely’s pockets (when she gets a job, if there is one). And he doesn’t take into account the judges and other appointments which will further erode our freedoms. Or the damage that can be done to any attempt at recovery by the institution of government programs.

I think he thinks the whole system will implode and we’ll be starting over from scratch. Not likely to happen.

And the more action you create the better! Have some tires to smoke? Leaves to burn? Bratwurst to grill? Heavy breathing to do? Get to it, carbon slacker, and be creative! Send me the documentary evidence (video, photo, or links) and I’ll see to it your fellow Iowahawk carbon activist are informed of your good works, right here on this thread.

Sarge, you don’t have your facts straight, at all. Re-check your homework.

The Liberty issue is that the judge in the court case ruled that nobody but the government could appeal his ruling, leaving the People without recourse to appeal.

As I hinted Thursday, your one sentence remark contained a factual error in each clause. I’ll address each of them.

    1. The “judge in the court case” made no such ruling. The California supreme court ruled against the defendant’s motion to force the governor or attorney general of that state to pursue the appeal with them. The trial judge, after delivering a 100+ page ruling on the case stayed his own order to give the defendants time to appeal (sounds pretty fair to me.) They did, and the trial court’s ruling remains stayed until their appeal is heard, or they are denied standing by the appellate court, not the “judicial activist” trial judge.

    2. While it’s arguable that they represent “the people” the defendants do in fact have recourse, all the way to the supreme court if they so choose, and are in fact pursuing it, despite their horribly lame performance at the trial that resulted in the most damning ruling from a republican judicial appointee since the case of Kitzmiller v. Dover.

I hope that one way or another, be it on their own or with the help of a California county prosecutor (whose support they are also pursuing) they achieve standing, and have yet another chance to show that the dishonest crap they littered the free speech airways with in 2008 was actually substantiated by facts.

I’m hoping they gain standing because frankly, I don’t think they can prove their case no matter how many chances they are given. I think its most likely that, being fully aware of their factually defunct arguments, they are hoping to be denied standing, and even if they get it, they will at some point voluntarily drop their appeals to avoid a supreme court hearing on their nonsense.

Of course I also expect that they will scream bloody murder and “JUDICIAL ACTIVISM!!!!” so that they can fleece even more social conservative authoritarians of their hard earned money in support of their totally worthless, fear based, big government promoting “cause.”

More to come in December, when the higher court rules on standing, and may or may not hear their appeal. I say let these kooks have their say. It’s time for them to put up or shut up, and from everything I’ve read on the matter, these authoritarians showed up for a poop fight trial armed only with a fart.

this kind of effort is precisely the progressive way of doing things. Instead of arguing the issues and convincing people why their position is correct, the Daily Kos is trying to manipulate the system. One could almost accept this strategy if they attempting to manipulate positions, for example pushing articles explaining why Obamacare is wonderful to the top of the rankings. At least then they would be trying to inform the public.

This points out the real difference between progressives and conservatives; progressives have no confidence in the public so their strategy is to find damaging headlines about a candidate, so they can brand them as bad people.

John Lennon was a lot of things; an overly ideological socialist leaning commie among them. At the same time he created timeless music that will indeed be appreciated by generations to come. (Whether you like it or not!)

A few years ago my daughter learned Imagine by ear, and played it at the annual youth led service at church. (/brag)

Those attending were encouraged to sing along with the young folk. Everyone’s attempts to sing “you-who-oo” (@2:35) resulted in widespread laughter at each chorus. But the kids recovered nicely and kept the beat.

But more to the point, historically, “countries” have been defined according to geographical obstacles: distance, mountain ranges, oceans and the like. Thanks to industrialization, rapid transportation, and most recently the widespread and very affordable availability of information technology, our world is (virtually) a much smaller place than it has been in the past, and I think that trend is unstoppable in the long run.

I think it’s pretty cool that only 100 years ago it was a rare (and expensive) feat to communicate with a person on another continent quickly. Today, we’re mere milliseconds away from friends thousands of miles and oceans away

I’m not opposed to their existence, nor do I think that “countries” will ever become extinct. However I do point out that what the most oppressive, most dictatorial, most fascist countries in the world fear most, what they fear more than death, bombs, or invasions, is the free exchange of information and ideas between the people they oppress within their borders and the more fortunate free people living in the rest of the world.

It’s easy enough to kill a man. It’s much more difficult to kill an idea.

    “Imagine.”

    “Imagine.”

#79 Thanks for your interest in my personal life. Not that it’s any of your business, but since you brought it up, I’ll assure your that my sinful, adulterous, serial monogamous activities are doing just fine, even if they don’t consume my every evening.

If you’d care to make a serious, non-dodging comment on my remarks, I’ll be more than happy to craft a serious reply. “…carry weight with any American patriot” is a poor (and I think very shallow) excuse for an argument. Flesh it out! Explain why you think that is the case, and substantiate your thoughts with facts.

Do you dispute my notions that industrialization and numerous advances in communication technologies have made our world smaller? If so, why? Do you dispute that those same aspects are a superior weapon against totalitarian governments?

Yikes. You’re a walking dichotomy. You’re more than a bit disconnected from the reality of your surroundings. You routinely disparage our country when we attempt to export our good fortune and in the same breath call your fellow Americans xenophobes when they suggest it’s good policy to control our own borders. Last I looked there aren’t a rush of Americans risking their lives to escape from this country you paint as an authoritarian hellhole.

There is no barrier to the free exchange of ideas in this country. It’s just that we have heard your ideas and we don’t like them. We are students of history and recognize that what you espouse, however noble your intent (and I’m no longer convinced of that intent), necessarily leads to tyranny.

You lob derogatory buzzwords at anyone who dares disagree with you in a lame attempt to malign their character, then hide behind a veil of satire when someone calls you on it. Simply put you are nothing more than a cultural Marxist in anarchist’s clothing. Thank God the sane among us continue to reject your insidious dogma.

Yeah. I’ll let the rest of the group entertain themselves trying to find a glimmer of reason in that discombobulated mush you call logic. I think I’m done for a while.

Since bob won’t answer what his closest experience has been in dealing with gang members is just allow me to say that pride more than anything else drives gang membes to sow the despicable acts they do. It has much more to do with the neglectful and often hellish homes they are raised in. Keeping drugs illegal has very little or anything to do with their hate and violence. It may amplify in some ways their violence on the streets in order to control the substances for cash but (a) legalizing it will NOT eliminate drug-based violence and (b) alcohol plays no small part in their violent activites. So bob is just a sel-interested fool for making my original post on the Latin King Goonies violently beating up several gay people into a war on drugs spew.

Rather than “hate” I think their inexcusable behavior was a violent expression of xenophobia.

That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. That’s trying to argue that “hate” is an inappropriate term to describe the Latin King Goonies’ hideous attack on gays but “hate” is a better terminology to describe it.

Oh, I get it, bob was just trying to to associate their mindset with that of social conservatives. Betchya that if members ofthe Latin King Goonies voted it would be for Liberals. But let’s just ignore that fact and be inspired by John Lennon.

Hamous #84 – timeless post. Congrats. It is the left that constantly puts forward the idea that there is a need for the government to control the dissemination of political thought via the public media. Yet they reject any concern by others for a need of the government to control any sort of trash they want to foist onto the public in what they consider entertainment. The left can not win the public via a free media. So instead they would force their diatribes upon us by either the courts or government regulation when clearly rejected by the elected bodies and the listening public. I will defend with my life the right of any person to stand in the public square and make a fool of themselves. But I can not and will not be made to listen to their inane diatribes. Any attempt to do so is tyranny and should be put down by any means necessary.

Nowhere is the failed ideology of the left on display with greater fanfare than in today’s political advertising where the Democrats are all doing their very best to disavow their association with President Obama and the policies their party voted for. I recall Obama touting because of his life experiences that he would be able to solve the problems of the Muslim world, from Palestine to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Remember how finding OBL was going to be his number one priority? Haven’t heard a word about that from the White House or Democrats for about 607 days. Now I will give you that he’s only been in office for 627 days, so perhaps it’s early. But with Obama bin Biden holding the reins, I don’t really expect to see any progress there or in international relationships.

What the American people have clearly witnessed is that in spite of overwhelming public sentiment to the contrary, the left is more than willing to shove their radical social agenda and nation destroying economic policies down the citizen’s throats. This is why so many Americans are no longer using the term progressives, but instead substituting a more accurate expression: REPRESSIVES.

I read an article, which I can’t find at this moment, that talked about how women were supposed to keep their sexual organs covered. The hijab and niqab, which would cover the woman from top to bottom, obviously push the point that in Islam, the woman’s whole body is a sex organ.

Or, in other words, Muslim men are incapable of controlling themselves, and are not responsible for their actions should a piece of “raw meat” rove into view.

Okay, so Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas would have Pacific Ocean borders. We could then deal with Guatemala to build a new canal, and the Chinese would lose a whole lot of money operating the Panama Canal. And I don’t think Guatemala would be so forgiving of Mexicans trying to cross their southern border!

But you sir, whether you are man enough to accept it or not, are still proportionately responsible for the violence, death, destruction, and harm to families that results from your completely irrational continued support of an expensive war that has raged for 40+ years with pitifully few positives and negatives piled mountains high. Your ignorance of its failures does not spare you that responsibility. It is real, and quite tangible.

What’s your closest experience with gang members?

Pending your acceptance of the responsibility that you have earned, I’ll briefly address your question with this query. Holy Crap dude~! On which side of the tracks did you grow up? You don’t in any way sound like the neighbors of my youth. You sound more like the pompous windbags that held them down.

#86 Darren, do you dare to deny that the horrible and inexcusable violence related to the abject stupidity that was alcohol prohibition declined substantially after that failed experiment of overreaching government authoritah was ended?

#107/108 Bigs! I’m glad to see that you’re healthy enough to be your usual feisty self. Keep it up dude.

I grew up in the same country that your did. Forever fond in my heart are the fat Cajun Catholic ladies that served up the free lunch at my school when I needed it most, and often had a kitty bag for me to take home at the end of the day. To this day I can vividly recall the aroma of the homemade yeast rolls that wafted through the halls mid-morning as they baked.

For them it was an act of pure love. For me it was pretty much guaranteed fish on Friday’s, and a very welcome supplement to my sustenance.

The Blues Brothers defined a “wish sandwich” as having two pieces of bread and wishing for some meat. I disagree with them, and point out that two slices of bread fresh out of the toaster, squirted with a packet of ketchup saved from a outing at Chez-McDonald tastes pretty damn good when you’re hungry.

Seriously folks, try such a sandwich sometime. You will not be disappointed.
