At MyFoxDC . com is a story about the brouhaha being raised over a Tea Party coloring book. It seems that the selfsame people who don’t mind bringing sex and homosexuality into our children’s elementary schools somehow take offense with a discussion of taxes.

Death threats against the publisher have been made. I’m guessing that the fact that he has also published an Obama coloring book does not grant him any amnesty. No brownie points here! (No pun intended.)

The opponents of said coloring book don’t want to indoctrinate the children.

Hypocrites.

BTW – I’m not much of an early morning person, so please be patient with me.

A working manuscript of one of the most influential books of modern times is about to be published for the first time. In 1939, about 5,000 copies of a book offering hopeless drunks a spiritual path to recovery through 12 steps were released by a fledgling fellowship of alcoholics. . They called it “Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How More… Read more »

Wow. WWI only ended this past Sunday. From the London Telegraph by Allan Hall The final payment of ยฃ59.5 million, writes off the crippling debt that was the price for one world war and laid the foundations for another. Germany was forced to pay the reparations at the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 as compensation to the war-ravaged nations of… Read more »

Work sucks today, but life is good. Choir practice tonight, preceded by snacks and a brew with my adopted sister Sarah.

Monday, daughter, her best bud and I are going to see Sara Bareilles at House of Blues. I’ll probably be the oldest person there, but I don’t care.

#11 Tedtam Did you notice whose photos those were in Patterico’s Breitbart column ? This is on Patterico’s extended original version of that article at his site: UPDATE x2: David Jennings, who took two of the photos used above, has a post that further ties Isabel to the Houston Votes organization โ€” using photos that Isabel herself put on Flickr.… Read more »

Well, the Dems are a gift that keeps on giving, and giving, and giving ammunition for conservative campaign ads with barely over a month to go until–trumpet famfare–November 2. Rush said this morning that John Boehner announced he had enough Democrat crossover votes to pass extension of all of the Bush tax cuts. And rather than allow that vote, the… Read more »

75 people at a toddler’s birfday party? At 1:00am? “Beer-soaked”? 30-person melee? 20 police officers to restore order?

That kid has some big shoes to fill.

I just stumbled across one of my favorite sayings from Vanguard; At its heart, The Cheapskate Next Door is a look at the mentality of people who live happily below their means. Saw the comment yesterday on Star Wars coming out in 3D. I’m geeky enough to love the idea. After seeing Avatar in 3D, I read an article about a couple of movies that were going to have release delayed so they could be converted to 3D, and it got me to thinking of other movies that could be done so… Read more »

A Little Debbie snack cakes truck was stolen from a Kansas WalMart store. It was later found abandoned with a trail of empty boxes leading away from it.

Now, who might have done such a thing? I suggest the police start with people who regularly follow this site.

Or this one.

Here’s the problem with the coloring book. The lefties can probably make out the message that is trying to be conveyed. It’s on their comprehension level. Maybe it needs to be upgraded to the comic book level or a little beyond. Then they would no longer be able to understand it well enough to protest it.

Prisoner: You can’t execute me if I’m crazy! State: You’re not crazy. Prisoner: Yes I am! I’ll prove it. (goes off to attempt suicide) State: You can’t do that. We have first dibs. A study done by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has found that bans on texting while driving have actually increased accident rates. The study concluded that the bans didn’t actually stop people from texting, but caused them to lower the phones below the dashboard/window sill more, causing the driver to have to look further from the road to perform… Read more »

Off to a great start, TT. Hammie’s couch and Auntie Tedtam bringing the tea and cakes, all the comforts of home! Regarding HS, tough one. Is he good enough at basketball to definitely make the team? If not getting on the team would be a blow, doesn’t sound like a good match. I myself joined the Women’s Army Corps right… Read more »

Good morning all (so nice to write that). Another cool 55 at 6, low humidity–yea–and another wonderful day ahead. The mares are out in the shadows of the pasture trees after walking their ususal sunny pathway from the barn. Figaro (the new kitty) continues trying to court Mariposa’s good will–not much luck so far. She still hides from him though… Read more »

One of my pledge brothers hired on with Caterpillar in Peoria, IL right out of college. He transferred to China two years ago. I am sure it was worth a shot when the alternative is unemployment.

The whole Che thing really makes me laugh/weep. These bozos don’t realize that they would be among the first to be lined up against the wall when the revolution comes. They also don’t realize that their buddy Che got caught in Bolivia because the popular uprising among the peasants he expected didn’t materialize in part because the peasants weren’t the… Read more »

My experience in the Marines (albeit it’s been 56 years) was the testing is very thorough and they will know pretty much exactly what your capabilities are. The downside to that is that they will take you anyway and put you on permanent mess duty or make a professional paper picker upper out of you. In combat areas you will… Read more »
